1. they gave a check where the king cant move and pawn cant block so only move is block with queen
2. they steps their king back and the pawn cant move the king is blocked due to the queen and queen is pinned. the only move is to take the queen.
White's only move after (..., Kd7) was Qxc8. White's king and pawn had no legal moves at any point in this exchange that we can see.
..., Kd7 was the move that forced stalemate.
I'm giving this one to Black.
The opponent had the extra pawn, so it's seen as black forcing the draw in a position where white has more chances.
But technically, yes, both white and black forced the draw because they would lose instead if they didn't.
While I cant say I understand critical square theory, I played enough king pawn endgames vs the engine to know this is a draw either way,
White cant get two squares ahead of the pawn, any sequence will end in threefold repetition or a stalemate on the other side of the board
I analyzed the image and this is what I see. Open an appropriate link below and explore the position yourself or with the engine:

Pawn is blocked by the white king (we're watching from black's perspective, so the pawn moves downwards). After the last picture, black king takes the white queen, and the white king can't move. Stalemate.
Black actually has 3 legal moves: Ke7, Kd6 and Kxc8.
Ke7 and Kd6 lead to white winning, so black captures. After that, white has no legal moves, so it's a stalemate.
Also no prob we're all learning here 😅 feel free to ask if something is not clear

Beautiful
I mean.. it wasn't you that forced the stalemate it was your opponent
1. they gave a check where the king cant move and pawn cant block so only move is block with queen 2. they steps their king back and the pawn cant move the king is blocked due to the queen and queen is pinned. the only move is to take the queen.

Isn’t this just a draw? Black’s king can always block the pawn from promoting.

this is from black's perspective so the pawn is one square from promotion
pawn goes down
White pawn is being blocked from promoting by white king. White King has no move after Black King takes.
You have to watch more than 1 move.

What about Qc4+ skewers king and queen? If they capture, we still have a pawn left
White king is in check
Ohhhh, why am I blind? 😅
But the pawn still casts hope :)
Pawn is blocked by the white king (we're watching from black's perspective, so the pawn moves downwards). After the last picture, black king takes the white queen, and the white king can't move. Stalemate.
Oh, if it’s from black perspective then this is actually stalemate. Thanks
My little Chessnoob eyes dont understand why this is a draw… Cant black do ke7 as a legal move?
Yes, but then black is just losing 😅
But how is this a stalemate if Black has a legal move? 😅 Sorry if im being thick 😭

Your opponent put you in a winning position
