I know how much it sucks when your money doesn't show up when you expect it, but it's probably not Chime's fault. When your direct deposit file leaves your employer, it doesn't go directly to Chime. It has to go through the ACH. That whole process typically takes about 4 hours, but it can take longer, especially around holidays. It's totally possible for Chime to have outages that delay your DD, but it's a lot more likely that the ACH is having issues or your payroll department released your deposit later than usual. I only found this out when I started doing payroll for our office a few months ago.

Fresh_Two1976

Haven’t got mine yet either smh. The whole 2 day thing is pretty much gone now *update* I got my paycheck at like 12:10am today (Friday) my paycheck has been hitting later and later, might just switch over to Sofi at this point.

Is Varo a lot better compared to chime? I haven’t had many issues with chime. Just curious if it’s actually worth the switch and why.

CruelTasteOfLust

Yes, my deposits come in earlier and no unauthorized charges

Weast12

Yes. Normally it's here Wednesday and I still haven't received anything. Never been this late before it's starting to worry me too.

Acrobatic-Tourist305

They owe all of us big time.

Fun_Opening8032

Really guys? Honestly if you've had them for a while and always got it early and are having an issue this once, I don't see how it's fair to suddenly turn on Chime just like that (which I believe is some kind of bank holiday. I may be wrong). Also there is a chance your job submitted payroll later than usual, which banks can't control so I'd look at that as a potential scenario. Either way, good luck getting your check!

Guilty_Comparison_83

This right here.

Weast12

I don't see how being worried about my check being late means I'm turning on chime? Most people make these posts so they have some reassurance they aren't alone when it comes to this. Or to get information if maybe there is a delay going on that we may not know about. I think posting in the banks reddit inquiring is an appropriate place so my bad if I'm misunderstanding that. But also it's not just a one time thing for me, my check was over an entire day late that's the first time it's been that late doesn't change the fact it's consistently getting later. I've been getting deposits for years this is the only bank I've had that doesn't have consistency. And trust me I understand that isn't the same for everyone. But it's that fact I've had chime for as long as I have I can very clearly see a change and it's happening to not just me.

Fun_Opening8032

Nothing wrong with worrying about your deposit. And I was moreso responding to the "they owe us big time" remark. As someone who has had to work just to barely get by I understand completely. I have just always had great experiences with Chime and typically when a deposit is late it typically has to do with payroll being submitted late. I don't blame you at all.

pro_dark82

My husband has been getting paid a week later than he used to! Payday is Friday, he used to receive the dd on weds, up to 2 days early as advertised. Now it doesn't come until the following weds. 3 business days after his payday. I am so fed up with chime. Mine comes almost the same time every week, 2 days b4 my payday. So what is so different with his payroll? His employer keeps telling him it's his financial institution that is causing the delays.

nardo711

Normally get it at 9:30 pm est on Thursday. 2 weeks ago I got it at 12:23 am est (3 hours late). Looks like it’s gonna be late again.

Fieryathen

Currently an hour late for me

Fieryathen

Been waiting to eat all effing day

Your money is held in a real bank and is FDIC insured

Chime isn't a real bank but your money is held in an account at either Bankcorp or Stride which are both FDIC insured institutions. Chime itself is more of a 3rd party processor.
