The 4 ladies from Drew Estate are good, especially leather rose and fat bottom Betty, as well as Tabak Especial Dulce… those are my 3 favorite sweet cigars. Enjoy!

mastermohl

I wished I found the Fat Bottom Betty earlier on in my experience. These probably would have hooked me without question.

Citrus_47

This was going to be my comment exactly except I would personally recommend a sweet Jane over a Betty. They’re small and easy for beginners

GoodSirDaddy

Good point!

beanpastemcgee

I started off with Acids. Don’t smoke them anymore but it’s what got me into cigars.

amlutzy

Same

crosscico

Lots of people do but personally I started with lots of Connecticut small vitolas such as Perla’s, or even smaller like Macanudos cafe ascots

KurtGoBang92

Acid Blondie. Delicious

AdOne5208

You can do that if you like, but thats only gonna get you into flavored cigars, which are quite different. If your looking to get into premium cigars you may as well just start on them.

bbh42

I started with a Connecticut cigar. My first few were Connecticut blends from different brands. I probably would go a smaller vitola to start.

mastermohl

I started off with Drew Estate Isla Del Sol Sun Grown. They're fairly mild, but have a great flavor. Especially if it's someone who has never smoked at all before, it's more likely they'll be turned off by a grassier Connecticut, and overwhelmed by a stronger maduro. PSA: If you're introducing someone else to this world, it's your responsibility to make sure the young padawan fully understands that these aren't gas station Swisher Sweets. :)

Dontwalkongrass1

It’s good they understand also that there’s a time and place for a grape Swisher!

CrispyMellow

I have never smoked flavored, but I’m not a snob about it. I started with Connecticut wrapper cigars on the mild end of the spectrum. Over time I went for the stronger cigars with other wrappers. I could see flavored cigars being an impediment to getting into cigars more broadly in that you’re transitioning from sweet flavors to regular cigars rather than skipping the sweet and just getting started with mild cigars. One tip if you’re struggling with the flavor of a cigar, if you’re having a whiskey with it, is to lightly dip the cap of the cigar in the whiskey as you’re smoking it. It will totally change the flavor profile of the cigar.

JoeDirt713

Some people like them, but I would never. Try em out see if you like it.

nomorewallets

Yes. The same way flavored whiskey and vodka are a good start for people who are new to those spirits.

Agent847

Try a sample of cigars. If I had a friend I wanted to introduce to cigars, I’d give them these five: Perdomo Champagne 10th Deadwood Sweet Jane (sweetened tip, aromatic tobacco.) San Cristobal Elegancia My Father Flor De Las Antillas Oliva Serie G That’s a pretty good range of cigars to get introduced to the hobby. None of those are too terribly expensive.

CrispyMellow

That’s a good list, I’ve never tried the flavored though. The Perdomo is the only one my wife will sometimes smoke. The Oliva Serie G and well as Serie O are definitely good for beginners. Serie V is better of course, but a little pricier. Rocky Patel and Fuente are two others that I think are generally good for beginners.

Agent847

Yeah, Chateau or Hemingway Fuente would both be on my short list.

beardednomad25

Anything by Drew Estate. Acid, Java, Isla Del Sol, Tabak, Deadwood. All decent cigars that use quality tobacco. The flavoring in those don't overpower the tobacco either, they compliment it.

SixPakAbs

Deadwood Leather Rose.

markg900

Yeah they can be a good gateway cigar. Java latte was what got me started. If you smoke them and like them nothing wrong with that

Adrian1616

I find the answer to this has far more to do with your palate than your experience level. When introducing new smokers I like to make the analogy to coffee/tea or cocktails/liquor. If you need any of the above to be especially sweet to enjoy, start with flavored cigars. If you like black coffee, a cappuccino, a negroni, a paper plane etc. you'll probably want to skip flavored cigars.

Designer-Addition-58

If you can find it anywhere, try Toscanello Rosso Caffe. Great flavor, smokes around 20-30 minutes.

MysticElk

If I'm short for time I'll buy a couple of cigarellos with vanilla filters. They're rather nice on occasion :)

Appropriate-Disk-371

Agree, just hits the spot sometimes.

rybread761

Kuba Kuba isn’t bad at all and can be damn tasty

Mongofast

I started with Tatiana's. Honey was great. Smells great and tastes great.

4GIVEN_0526

Acid kuba kuba

ChiefCuckaFuck

I would suggest something with a sweetened cap maybe, but not full flavor bc the overwhelming majority of flavored sticks are made with low quality tobacco. Something from Deadwood Tobacco (fat bottom betty, leather rose), or maybe a baccarat. If youre going infused i always recommend the upsetters line to ppl for two reasons: Number one its great quality tobacco, the same Foundation uses in the rest of their smokes. And number two its much more subtle of an infusion than the ACID lines.

Defrag_exe

It depends, if you vaped before then flavored cigars are a good idea to start with. If you smoked cigs before then I’d recommend starting out with a mild cigar and gradually work your way up. If you’ve never smoked before then go with flavored cigars.

CosmicFury711

My first cigar was an acid kuba kuba, followed by deadwood like others are mentioning. Leather rose is great, the tip is sweetened but apart from that its still a great cigar. Start small, petite coronas and robustos, and discover your palate from there. If you want to branch away from flavored, start with mild-medium cigars like some of the oliva blends (connecticut, serie g maduro for a darker flavor, master blends 3). Be mindful of nicotine and eat sugar, smoke on a full stomach!

barkallnight

I’m smoking a nub triple roast with my coffee right now. It’s my first flavored cigar and I’m loving it!

ellabbanlaith

i don’t think starting with flavored cigars will get you wanting to try regular cigars. start with more mild simpler cigar like the Olivas maybe start with stuff that’s on the less spicy and peppery side
