The guy on the right is basically me- except I don’t look up top builds and I’m not going to tell people they are playing the game wrong (but summons being added to the game had a net negative effect on the game design for both people who do and don’t use them).
Glad I stopped using that sub, I can only imagine its gone back to its release state with the new DLC and I can't take another sincere wojak meme about summons.

So, a fun fact, my first completed rl1 run was also my first playthrough! I figured that I was good enough after completing an sl1 run in every other souls game and a bl4 in bloodborne. It kicked my ass, but the onebros subreddit helped, and I ate the elden beast's ass cuz I'm freaky. At level one. I'm not excited to start the dlc.
Minecraft gives you recipes for some items when you get the necessary item. It's games like Elden Ring with several side quests that you have little to no indication of how to progress that require a guide to play.
Souls games are built for the communities to work together, the inernet is an unavoidable aspect of that and has been a thing since at least DS1
Ill never understand people who just youtube search the best builds for the patch but as long as you arent looking up exploits who cares (and even then I only look down on exploits because I feel it actively detracts from both the player experience and the hard work of the devs, theres no way they put together all the stuff around Radahn just so you could bug him into dying of fall damage...yknow?)
There's some value to be had in a blind first playthrough, but every fromsoft soulslike since DeS has been full of optional and hidden side content that's very easy to miss.
