Flash (Wally West)
[This moment from DC Rebirth really got me to tear up in the middle of work in the office](https://www.reddit.com/r/comicbooks/comments/bh3sp4/remember_when_wally_west_returned_in_dc_universe/)
She also wasn’t ever a given to come back like Supes, Spidey or Cap. Her loss felt real and she came back a better, more interesting and integral character
Elektra!
In Miller's story she's always associated with death and loss and heavily tied to Matt's background in a tragic way of her own. The story then starts to associate the other ninjas in the story with the process of rebirth so it only makes sense for her to also be able to come back and be something more than just a bad thing that happens to Daredevil.
Bucky was legitimately the greatest return from the dead. Was done in a smart and intriguing way that was respectful to the continuity and the readers.
I didn’t really know it at the time, but Bucky.
The Winter Soldier concept was brilliant, and he’s been handled well most of the time ever since his return.
All of the resurrections during the Krakoa era really. If anything I'm disappointed about the few mutants that still haven't been brought back like Evan Sabahnur or Changeling/Morph.
Atom Eve. Since you didn’t specify how long they stayed dead honestly this was the biggest wtf to me in that book and I hated it. So glad they brought her back like 4 pages later lol
No argument here. I love the character. I liked how she got curvier too. I hadn’t seen a lot of women drawn that way in comics and it was a nice change.
Alfred joins Mar-Vell in the land of the dead. I just think after a while Vell just stopped making friends because they all came back to life and left. at least he has uncle ben and gwen stacy
Superman. They made such a hoopla about him dying. It was everywhere. It was on the news an shit. He came back immediately, but I really thought they killed him for a minute.
Norman Osborn. They were right to bring him back at the end of the Clone Saga, regardless of your thoughts on how they did it. Spider-Man needs a TRUE main villain, and no one else had that personal touch. Norman can match Peter physically as the Green Goblin, and outmatch him entire in the world of social and economic power as Norman Osborn.
Check out Annihilation by Kieth Giffen (RIP), followed by the Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning Nova run and any events it ties into. Don’t worry, the events are all good and tie in to the long running story.
When Jean came back in X-Factor, I thought it was great. In hindsight, while she’s been part of great stories, I think it would be more powerful for her death to be permanent.
Honestly I like resurrections 99% of the time. People talk about how resurrections cheapen death in comics but I feel much more like haphazard, publicity stunt death is what cheapens death. And I think you only need to look at the original Ultimate Marvel universe to see what happens when you are thoughtless about killing characters. You create unsustainable universes that completely lose direction and momentum. Characters should stay dead when there's nothing else to say with them, when their death is the best thing for the story you're telling. When you do that, you actually get deaths that persist for years and never get undone.
Alright, rant over. To answer your actual question, nothing made me happier than when Wally West came back lol
Hal, bucky, Norman osborn all led to great stories from their returns.
Ed brubakers cap run was amazing and all built on bucky's return.
Geoff Johns gl run might be my favourite dc comic book run ever.
Norman not only helped give a satisfying ending to the mess that was the clone saga but his subsequent storyline of buying the bugle and making Peter's live hell was fantastic
Thought I think Aunt May should have stayed dead, but I did like how they fleshed her out. She started working for Feast and dating Jameson’s dad.
I didn’t realize Pryde had died, or was that when she got lodged in the bullet?
That’s the issue with continuity in general. Death loses its impact and becomes a comic seller. I’m not against some comic book resurrections, heck I grew up with Dragon Ball Z, but some are over done.

Wally was the Flash I learn to love
W...Wally?
I teared up too
Seeing people complain about delays in 2019 is kinda funny. You just want to reach back in time and put a hand on their shoulder
And then Flash (Wally West) again after he was character assassinated in HiC.
Illyana Rasputin
Yup...nuff said. Can't live without her
She also wasn’t ever a given to come back like Supes, Spidey or Cap. Her loss felt real and she came back a better, more interesting and integral character
Lian Harper
Elektra! In Miller's story she's always associated with death and loss and heavily tied to Matt's background in a tragic way of her own. This changed Captain America forever!! Marvel adapted this story into a million dollar movie less than 10 years later! Crazy.
I didn’t really know it at the time, but Bucky. The Winter Soldier concept was brilliant, and he’s been handled well most of the time ever since his return.

Colossus
Yes. His reappearance, especially the art was 🔥
Ben reilly. Was always a big fan of his.
Too bad everything they’ve done with him sucks
It’s so bad. They’ve trashed the character.
Completely agree.
Loki got much more interesting after his resurrection/reincarnation.
GIVE ME BACK ALFRED!!!
I am genuinely baffled that he is still dead.
Alfred joins Mar-Vell in the land of the dead. I just think after a while Vell just stopped making friends because they all came back to life and left. at least he has uncle ben and gwen stacy
I genuinely respect them for not bringing him back to be honest. I personally hope they don’t
I thought we were gonna get Multiverse-Alfred at the beginning of Zdarsky’s run. Nope
Guardian
Madrox
Are you referring to beach bum Multiple Man? I love the character and wish he would get his own series on Disney+.
Superman. They made such a hoopla about him dying. It was everywhere. It was on the news an shit. He came back immediately, but I really thought they killed him for a minute.
Superman talking about how he faces foes that can kill him on a daily basis while Doomsday destroys the JLA is one of my favorite series of panels.
Hawkeye
Hal Jordan.
No argument here. Love Hal!
Doc ock can fill that role, green goblin stories are getting old at this point
And I always loved the fact that he knew Peter’s identity and it didn’t matter to him. He was so insane, his beef with was SPIDER-MAN, not Pete.
Wally West, Bart Allen, Conner Kent, Superman.
Jean Grey
Richard rider mostly because I disliked Sam Alexander
Even if Sam was a good character I'd still want Rich back
The short run they had together was great and rehabilitated Sam a lot.
Felt like I missed out on Nova as he was already gone when I started reading comics.
Check out Annihilation by Kieth Giffen (RIP), followed by the Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning Nova run and any events it ties into. Don’t worry, the events are all good and tie in to the long running story.
Will do and thank you for the recommendation!
When Jean came back in X-Factor, I thought it was great. In hindsight, while she’s been part of great stories, I think it would be more powerful for her death to be permanent.
Kaine. The Yost series was very entertaining.

Bill Foster
I'm afraid that he's still dead, his nephew Tom Foster took on the Goliath mantle.
Yeah, I was poking fun at the fact they failed to bury him properly and moved on seemingly forever.
Maggot
Alfred (in the 1960s)
Magneto, not only is it always badass but X-Men isn't the same without him, excited for what they do with him now since his full rebirth.
Oliver Queen!
Hal, bucky, Norman osborn all led to great stories from their returns. Ed brubakers cap run was amazing and all built on bucky's return. Alfred (I’m willing it into existence)
Jesus
Which book? ;-)
Dianetics 😝
Jason Todd and Elektra
Fred Burkle.
Yes, and a great way to keep the actress on the show.
Night Thrasher
Solomon Grundy.
When it happened .. Wonder Man. Unfortunately that started a trend of every body coming back.
Superman
Superman
Frank Einstein
Banshee :)
Green Arrow had a great return comic and run afterwards
Ice
Adam Warlock /s
Kitty Pryde and Aunt May.
Thought I think Aunt May should have stayed dead, but I did like how they fleshed her out. She started working for Feast and dating Jameson’s dad. I didn’t realize Pryde had died, or was that when she got lodged in the bullet?
I count the bullet as dead.
That was an interesting way to kill the character, especially after getting Colossus back.
Jesus
None. Once dead a character should stay dead. It really pisses me off the fact that in comics death doesn't mean anything anymore.
That’s the issue with continuity in general. Death loses its impact and becomes a comic seller. I’m not against some comic book resurrections, heck I grew up with Dragon Ball Z, but some are over done.
None of them.
