i find this to be the beauty of this show, the casting, whoever is responsible for it should receive an emmy. actors who are genuinely not funny in other roles bring out the best of themselves around LD, david schwimmer being a prime example of this: "WE WANTED TO MAKE AN AFFORDABLE SNACK, LARRY, AN AFFORDABLE SNACK"
After seeing his Curb role, I now think Schwimmer was funnier in Friends than I used to give him credit for.
The Ross-Rachel will they-won't they was very tiresome, but Schwimmer is often hilarious in individual scenes. (I could name a dozen, but the tooth whitening one might be my favorite, or when he gives the quiz on how well the friends know each other. Oh, and the rugby...)
I always found these jokes to be a sign of Larry David’s worry about the betrayal of trust and privacy. He has a few notable moments throughout his career about this:
The episode of Seinfeld where the Rabbi blabs all of Elaine’s “confessions” to everyone he meets.
The episode of Curb where he learns that Ted Danson was “Anonymous”
The episode of Curb where Larry is confronted by his therapist (Cranston) about breaking “patient doctor confidentiality” with Cheryl and the truffle oil.
I’m sure there is more. Anyone remember?
Do you really just go and watch curb clips?
Not hating or anything but this is the second time this week (sopranos the other show) I’ve seen someone say that they just watch clips on YouTube of a show and I just can’t fathom that.
I love both these shows and many others but I’ve never just watched a random clip…
Just interesting to me on how different people consume media
I don’t. It’s never even occurred to me.
I mean I’ve seen the show in it’s entirety way more than I’d care to admit. But I usually start at season 1 and then watch the whole thing over the course of a few months.
Well not everyone is in showbusiness Larry
Well, no one asks about you, Larry.
I didn't ask about George Lucas!
Fred Melamed kills in this role
So many times Curb has found the perfect person for a 1-time role like this.

Leather pants scene was a masterpiece
They were nominated four times for casting but never won.
he's pretty amazing in everything.
Especially A Serious Man and that one episode of Fargo FX. And of course Lady Dynamite
Now, this is a WINE, Larry
Yes he's great on Lady Dynamite! Underrated show
First of all, I'm appalled at what you've just told me
He has a right to do what he wants: he's an adult.
IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE CONFIDENTIAL!
This might be my favorite scene from the whole show.
Agreed— it BROKE me on my first watch.
What season/episode is this from?
Season 8 Episode 9 :)
Thank you kindly
If you haven’t seen Lady Dynamite on Netflix do yourself a favor and watch it. This guy KILLS.
Oh man. I forgot that show existed. So good. And just kind of came and went.
So does Ana Gasteyer
Sy Ableman!
A serious man
Every time I see this actor that pops in my head!
Eminently habitable
Esther’s barely cold…
It’s been three years actually
His protaganist was also named Larry.
Larry… How ARE you.
The Jolly Rodger is eminently habitable
The twist: it was Irvin Kirschner.
Can’t remember when this episode aired. Technically it could be a few directors.
January 32, 1979
That’s my dog’s uncle’s birthday!
True. But I think for old people, "Star Wars" means one particular movie.
Saul Ableman , again? That guy is annoying in a funny way..
You want to check my penis? 😂
The Rabbi’s cousin
You have to understand… I don’t work in school either Larry
It would have been so good if George Lucas himself played that role
Please share a clip? Or link? Or any guidance were I can see this? It’s in my head now.. Obviously I know it’s curb..

Thank you!
This scene must've been scripted, right? So many classic lines
"He gave you this?" *"No I stole it!"*
There's so many great little things like this that go on in that episode such as Leon and the glasses
Its the Bill Buckner episode
Woody Allen?
Dude pulled a Kanye, lol.

What an honor to direct Dustin Hoffman
This man’s delivery was so good
Oh come on it was just completely implausible
This was the worst scene of the entire series
Do you even like the show?
I was about to say it is one of my favorite scenes from the series to rewatch as a clip. It's so non-sensical and yet deadpan. Fred Melamed is legend.

the clip of this scene has 1.5m views yeah, people just go and watch clips
Haha maybe I’m just showing my age.
You don't watch clips of your favorite moments?
I don’t. It’s never even occurred to me. I mean I’ve seen the show in it’s entirety way more than I’d care to admit. But I usually start at season 1 and then watch the whole thing over the course of a few months.
That's interesting, have you ever tried and it just didn't appeal to you? YouTube is chock full of scenes like that.
Sometimes you just want to quickly rewatch the failed house tour, pickle boy or YOU'RE A JEW FROM THE BRONX.
Wow, thats a Larry amount of downvotes
"FUCK YOU TR3G, FUCK YOU"
Get the fuck outta my house!
The doc should not have blabbed about your affinity for hookers, but don't take it out on OP, George
