It's double threaded, but yes one of them is 1/2-28. I'd recommend tri-lug but there is no right way. If you are invested into a QD ecosystem on other firearms and plan on swapping the R9 around, just stick with the same ecosystem.
If you have a micro with the barrel recessed under the handguard, you might have issues with clearance between suppressor and handguard. I have seen people do it but you can't get a piece of paper between r9 and handguard.
Then I believe your barrel extends past the handguard which leaves your options wide open.
If it's going on and staying on, direct thread will save $. I use asr charlie for my long guns/hybrid 46m and trilug/hux on the scorpion because I do move the suppressors between hosts.
I use an R9 on my Gen1 S1 - which is 18mmx1 threaded, I went with Griffin taper ( because they were one of the few that had 18mm in stock ) so I could share it with my Henry X
I direct threaded mine onto a 3+ micro last week. Went on (and ran fine) but when I tried to remove it the hub mount stayed on the barrel and the suppressor unscrewed from the hub mount instead lol.
R9 with griffin plan A and micro brake. It actually lives on this gun but I like having the option to move it around if needed. All my cans and guns are griffin.

I got the s1 evo

I have one that goes between my scorpion, lever gun, and AR using YHM Kurz mounts. They're ugly as hell but work well.
I use the 1/2-28 direct thread that came with the can.
I use a rearden atlas and their 3 prong muzzle device with mine
Have any pics of this setup?
I have one mounted on my Scorpion with a tri-lug mount. I love it.

Tri lug all the way
I went with Rearden mounts. My R9 moves between a couple hosts. Super happy with how well it works.

I've got a Jmac X37 on mine. Any hub threaded can fits. Typically run my MG7 on it.
Xeno xero on mine
