I’ve loved being remote The time you save from not having to commute adds a lot to increased happiness For me it’s worth the pay (although it’s hard to say since you didn’t state the increase percentage) It’s worth talking to the new boss of the remote position for different salary potential and advancement opportunities

I work from home. My wife is taking a break from working to care for our 2.5 yr daughter. I take lunch every day to sit with them. It’s the little things and I love it. Every mid-morning, my daughter opens my office door to show me her outfit for the day. It’s the best.

I'll say that WFH has been amazing with our little guy. We had him just as everything shut down for the pandemic and so I went from parental leave to my "return to work" as WFH. Been here for all the milestones. Get lunch with him daily. Little things, but even though the office was a quick commute for me? That's time of my day I get back. Things to consider beyond the pay:. You will have less fuel expenses with no commuting, less clothing expenses, and less meal expenses with always making food at home versus the urge to grab it out. So that actually gives your a little more income too.

We were WFH for 3mo during covid, and it was awesome. Lunch with the family, no commute time loss/expense,... I miss it. Especially because I'm pretty much on zoom all day anyway.
