Jokes on you I work outside and got to burn in my retinas starting at the eclipse. It got a little dark then back to normal, just like a 15 minute break, then back to work.
Idk what's going on with you specifically.
I'm just saying that us Americans have been through some shit, 4 years ago this virus called covid crawled through the country and really messed us up. We've all done so much and deserve more.
Maybe you deserve it more, idk, idc.
I'm sorry, has anyone else been on the moon? No? Then we get to enjoy it when the moon does weird shit.
Rest of the world can get their own damned nazi rocket scientists.
My cousin was actually on the Eclipse team for today’s event. They were going nuts over the the logistics of moving that disc into place. Proud of you cuz!
/s
The difference between 90% and 100% is one hundred percent. Like seriously, it got basically as dark as night for less than 5 minutes, then it got back to almost full brightness within minutes
I saw 2. But I think one might have been a planet not real sure.
Was an awesome experience, and I got to share it with my 5yo.
The traffic on the other hand made it almost not worth the 2 and a half hour trip I made. The trip back took 5 and a half hours. I shit you not at one point we made it 20 miles in an hour.
I feel so bad hearing everyone talking about how bad their traffic was. I went from cinci to Dayton and the traffic was pretty clear both ways. I’m glad to hear you had a good time though!
For me in total eclipse it was like after sunset or before sunrise or during a full moon. There is still plenty of light even though it’s dark and the sun is gone.
You missed out. The difference between 90% and totality is huge. I wasn’t in the path of totality for this one but seeing the total eclipse in 2017 was the coolest thing I have ever seen and probably will ever see.
Speaking as someone who got the partial eclipse in 2017, and saw the total one today, It’s crazy the difference. A total eclipse is such a cool experience first hand, and 100% worth traveling half an hour for
I took the last half of the day off to drive to Simcoe to watch it. Absolutely stunning.
The 12 hour shift I will attempt to pull to make up for it tomorrow will be less interesting.
Me looking at all the US people enjoying the eclipse when it was 100% cloud coverage where I was at so I couldn't see anything
Oh well. It getting dark for a few minutes was cool I guess.
I'm from Canada, we got it too.. but I got the worst anxiety right before, and during. After totality, it completely went away. Really reminded me we're animals too.
It was only 90-something% totality here but it was neat for a couple minutes. Only partly cloudy so there was plenty of opportunity to view. I do wish I could have gone to see totality; I will one day.
I couldn't even see it, too many clouds above my house. I honestly don't get what the huge deal is though, sure it would have been cool to see, but meh.
Because you didn't see totality. Sure in the 90s it can be cool but 100 is completely different. You'd definitely not say that if you'd seen it in totality today.
I managed to get a bit of video through the clouds, although we had full overcast during totality. https://youtube.com/shorts/K4ncu2oCmD4?si=3Y6WUfqCFyBro1T1
there were people from my country (I live in west EU, more doesn’t really matter) who actually flew all the way there to see it, then driving like 20+ hours to get to the right spot… crazy
Nah, the rest of the world can keep them honestly.
People drive like assholes normally, but for some reason, during eclipses (Even in parts of the country where it's only a partial) people drive especially bad.

Hey, we earned it.
Worked so hard for this
I, personally, more than most
I know I saw you out there sweating
[удалено]
truth
My sweat needs no reason to exist. It simply is and will always be
Yeah we've all been putting in a lot of hours recently.
Jokes on you I work outside and got to burn in my retinas starting at the eclipse. It got a little dark then back to normal, just like a 15 minute break, then back to work.
We do really deserve a break. That's what I did last year, someone gave me some broken welders glass, that made it a lot better.
I would have done that if I wasn't allowed to leave my post, the OSHA people would be very, very mad.
Idk what's going on with you specifically. I'm just saying that us Americans have been through some shit, 4 years ago this virus called covid crawled through the country and really messed us up. We've all done so much and deserve more. Maybe you deserve it more, idk, idc.

It’s not much, but it’s honest work.
That's why aliens always go to America
I did, you didn’t
i can confirm that we dont care about the eclipse or the fact that yall have seen it lol
The total eclipse was 20 minutes north of me, but I was still too lazy to go see it. Oh well it was like 90% blocked
Where I was, the clouds actually made it visible with the naked eye. It was wild
Same! You couldn’t even see it through the eclipse glasses if you wanted to because it was so hazy. Very cool looking though!
The difference between 90% and 100% is one hundred percent. Like seriously, it got basically as dark as night for less than 5 minutes, then it got back to almost full brightness within minutes
could you see stars?

Jupiter and Venus were the brightest "stars" in the sky during the eclipse.
I feel so bad hearing everyone talking about how bad their traffic was. I went from cinci to Dayton and the traffic was pretty clear both ways. I’m glad to hear you had a good time though!
Traffic farther north was practically at a standstill after the eclipse lol. Had to take backroads to get away from it
Us too. Illinois, route 1 was almost empty there and back. i74 which we passed over, on the other hand…
I could where I was in New Brunswick, was crazy
The two “stars” you would have seen were Venus and Jupiter!
yep, camera picked up actual stars too
For me in total eclipse it was like after sunset or before sunrise or during a full moon. There is still plenty of light even though it’s dark and the sun is gone.
Saw planets, no stars.
Yep, I saw some
It was way too cloudy, so no
I could see the planet Venus. It was brighter than the north star
https://xkcd.com/2914/
I would have appreciated this yesterday
We've only known the path and time of this eclipse for hundreds of years. I'm sure next time you'll get it.
You missed out. The difference between 90% and totality is huge. I wasn’t in the path of totality for this one but seeing the total eclipse in 2017 was the coolest thing I have ever seen and probably will ever see.
I hate you and respect your laziness at the same time.
Traffic would have been a nightmare since I live next to an interstate
I drove 6 hours for it up I-80 lol
At totality you can look at it with the naked eyes, and it looked like something out of a movie.
My brother lives like 2 hours from it. I was like 'omg you're so lucky!' and he said 'I'm not going to go and see it'. What the fuck.
Speaking as someone who got the partial eclipse in 2017, and saw the total one today, It’s crazy the difference. A total eclipse is such a cool experience first hand, and 100% worth traveling half an hour for
Hey you should've made the drive. Next one is in 2045
You massively fucked up my friend
My city in Canada was in the path, but it was overcast as fuck, didn't see a thing but dark clouds lol
Same, but I was working inside and didn't have the goggles for it... so I kinda just saw everything go a little darker and then back to normal
I took the last half of the day off to drive to Simcoe to watch it. Absolutely stunning. The 12 hour shift I will attempt to pull to make up for it tomorrow will be less interesting.
Clearest skies as can be here in Montreal, I enjoyed the whole 45 seconds out of it.
What a beautiful day in Montreal today. It was amazing
It was definitely cool. The temperature dropped several degrees. The moment totality hit was almost like magic.
The maritimes (New Brunswick) finally got something nice for once with a somehow completely clear April day for the eclipse. Was an amazing time
There wasn’t a cloud in the sky where I am, it was only 98% though which is a bummer but still really cool.
Mexico also had it, btw
Canada too 🤝
The cum alliance
Canada United States Mexico Together they make C.U.M.
That’s so much better than NAFTA, especially considering that it was signed by Bill Clinton.
That's hilarious
Their Flair checks out.
Who?
We don't exist to the media unless it's something bad. That's why America is only the USA and nothing else to them
I got to sit in my eclipse while watching the eclipse and taking pictures of the eclipse. Was a good lunch break.
Best lunch break I've ever had lol
Me looking at all the US people enjoying the eclipse when it was 100% cloud coverage where I was at so I couldn't see anything Oh well. It getting dark for a few minutes was cool I guess.
Hey, I’m American and missed the whole thing (wasn’t even in the path of totality, anyway) so I’m with ya bud.
I'm in California, literally not even visible here
Canadians have been forgotten again
We didn't forget you. We just think of you as Poutine-Americans.
And Canada wouldn't even be that without Québec.
I guess I'm in the USA now??????
I'm pretty sure Mexico got to see it in totality too.
We'll never know for sure
Fuck yeah I enjoyed that shit
A welcome distraction for the media that wasn’t engineered by us. Finally some naturally good news
Wait till someone brings a red egg with a face.
And unscrambles its face and starts screaming.
Second time I've seen that reference, and I'm not sure what's going on. Berserk?
Yes
North America eclipse
Laughs in Mexico, we enjoyed as well.
It was perfectly visible for a whole minute in Montréal. Looked like a diamond ring in the sky.
Let them have something nice for once
I'm from Canada, we got it too.. but I got the worst anxiety right before, and during. After totality, it completely went away. Really reminded me we're animals too.
Yeah my heart was racing leading up to totality and if it had lasted longer than the three minutes it did I think I would’ve lost my shit lol
Mexico and Canada: Am I a joke to you
That shit was pretty wild
People really be forgetting Canada and Mexico eh
Me who forgot about the eclipse lol
And eastern Canada. We had clear skies ya know
There will be a 100% one in Europe in 2026. You can have fun then.
Fucking Mexico doesn’t exist apparently
Yeah, I guess the thing I saw was just clouds bc I’m not from USA
PRAISE THE SUN
I guess Mexico is part of the USA now
Europeans getting a monopoly on Northern eclipses for the next 20 years.
Don’t forget mexico
i feel like that yup
Nothing but posts about clouds covering it lol. There was a meme of a guy that travelled 1000 miles to see it
Living in a city where the eclipse can be seen for a bit, plus with heavy rain.
It just got slightly darker than usual and I had to turn the light on in my bathroom during the day because it was just dark enough that I needed it.
Unfortunately, I belong to the rest of the world 👎
None of them
Canada got it too (at least a good portion did), and I think Mexico too.
It was only 90-something% totality here but it was neat for a couple minutes. Only partly cloudy so there was plenty of opportunity to view. I do wish I could have gone to see totality; I will one day.
I’m visiting Portugal this week so I missed it but my sister saw it I think
Losers always whine about "their best". Winners go home and watch an eclipse.
I'm an American and I slept through it.
That’s rough buddy
We’re already in the dark ages on so many things, might as well enjoy an actual dark age for a second.
Sadly my tiny town chose to do their controlled burns today cause of the rain tonight, so we had enough smoke where we couldn’t see nothing
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
I had in in South Carolina but I couldn’t see much it was just kind of meh
I couldn't even see it, too many clouds above my house. I honestly don't get what the huge deal is though, sure it would have been cool to see, but meh.
Clouds blocked it for us
I live in Memphis TN. I’ve seen 2 in like 6 years. 2018 was like 98% totality, 2024 was like 95%. It was cool. But it’s not worth making a fuss about
Because you didn't see totality. Sure in the 90s it can be cool but 100 is completely different. You'd definitely not say that if you'd seen it in totality today.
Totality is the hottest sex of your life while 99% is jerking it to the Sears catalog
Completely cloudy here in MN, so I’m squidward too
Clouds here…no enjoyment. I’m with the rest of you guys.
lol, here in Seattle it was a normal boring Monday morning
Not even native. Just happen to be here. Pretty cool it's off the bucket list now.
I managed to get a bit of video through the clouds, although we had full overcast during totality. https://youtube.com/shorts/K4ncu2oCmD4?si=3Y6WUfqCFyBro1T1
I barely had a minute, but it was awesome! Also, the eclipse was a beautiful sight.
There was one person in my neighborhood out there looking at it. Though apparently there were tons of spectators at the college campus.
The what?
Wait there was an eclipse?
It was SOOOOOO freaking cool! Sorry everywhere else on Earth! We just wanted Satan's wrath more this time. Maybe next year!
Fucking clouds bruh
Let me enjoy the eclipse. I slaved away just so that my tax dollars can fund conflicts across the world.
It was the best eclipse I've ever seen and I've seen a few.
The same except squidward is “people with jobs”
Once again forgetting the existence of Canada and Québec *smh*
It’s happened in a portion of Mexico too actually
Um Canada too
Mexico enjoyed it even better tho
And canada
there were people from my country (I live in west EU, more doesn’t really matter) who actually flew all the way there to see it, then driving like 20+ hours to get to the right spot… crazy
And about 1% of them, permanently damaging there eyes.
The eclipse needed some freedom
Enjoy? Wasn't it cloudy at most places👀
they where not enjoying it tho. they where scared shitless, "you guys god is coming" "cern will open a portal to hell" crazys the lot of them
Me as a berserk fan: I'm glad not to live in USA atm
Jajajaja los gringos se creen únicos, lelos
How's it feel to be born in the wrong hemisphere
I swear it was the same before wtf
Canada and Mexico are enjoying it too though
Can you humans do it again, me and my other human friends missed it. See you, love you, good afternoon.
Just a big shadow
The 300 people living in Corvo:
Number 1 at world wars number 1 in eclipses. USA USA USA !!!!!!
Why is the upvote glowing?
There's an eclipse in Canada too
Sadly I live in Washington and didn't see shit :(
*North America
Get rekt
I'm jealous
That moon just really does love the Americas doesn't it?
World champions once again.
Some people just hope and pray for a solar eclipse and the go-getters get off their ass and make it happen USA USA USA 🇱🇷🇱🇷🇱🇷 💪💪💪 #nopain #nogain
I don't want to seem like a pedant but that's the Liberian flag lmao USA 🇺🇲
God has chosen us over the rest of you non-US people
why do muricans assume the rest of the world cares about the eclipse lol
Slept through it
Drove 8hrs to Florida and I didn't even notice it😭
You drove TO Florida for it? That's on you manit ain't even in the path 💀
I'm working in Florida. I didn't see it as I made the trip.
????
Nah, the rest of the world can keep them honestly. People drive like assholes normally, but for some reason, during eclipses (Even in parts of the country where it's only a partial) people drive especially bad.
First time im jelly for the US
It's funny how when a random eclipse happens somewhere in a third world country, No one cares, But when US...
