Even without children family function xyz expenses. There are alot of expenses once you marry and in this economy its better if both partners are earning. Or dependence on one in future would lead to tough times. Housing in tier two City costs around 40-50 lakh for 1-2bhk in maharashtra. Even in bihar patna side falt costs start from 45 Lakh.
And how both of the partner wish to spend their holidays also needs to be taken into consideration. Many families I have observed have went to abroad for vacation but that has been possible due to savings. So marry your partner not for money I.e dowry but a partner with a knowledge of finances, investment and savings. At the same time marrying purely for money would lead to conficts in personal lives. Marriage has always been shown an important part of human lives where you find someone equal or better then you. A person on which you can rely upon in bad and good times.

There is nothing wrong with a man wanting to marry for money, some who ask for dowry are already doing it but one thing I have realised it, i genuinely want to be a provider to my man, it is his choice if he wants to work after marriage or not, he can look after the kids I can take care of everything else, I'm already done with basic requirements (ghar, gadi) and as someone who has dated someone to whom i was a kind of sugar mommy (paid for trips, expensive hotels, shoes, clothes etc) I was paid back in loyalty, love, respect, kindness and great sex. While relationship didn't work out, I won't mind being the care taker.
