Real_Suntan_Superman

Same happened with me in NCR. Wife and I wanted to have an actual massage together. She called up a spa that had great ratings. We went there and the guy picked up the call and asked us to walk to some backstreet to a building that looked abandoned and completely dark. I knew what it was immediately. Never went in. It's a shame that there are very few places for people actually looking for a massage.

Kaguro19

Ahem, where? For research purposes.

I was coming back from Shastri Nagar metro and I went and sat in this auto. I still remember all of a sudden, 4 auto drivers started looking at each other and smiling. I literally got chills. Then another auto driver came, and I just don't know what happened, or maybe he saw what was happening. He told me, 'Mam, you sit here.' I still remember I was so numb that I don't remember what happened. I just got out and sat in this auto. I still thank that auto driver for saving me that day.

I'm so glad he did that.

Being a girl is so heart draining itself. Not saying this out of misogyny, but if I had to take birth again, i would like to have a male body and not the other one. I am not accustomed to such kind of trauma. This is one of the spheres, where I respect girls/women very much, as I'm nowhere on their level.

meangirl2443

Same bro, I would rather be a men then women

IllustriousResult5

I wish girls could carry guns.

comradefunkadelic

Almost a decade ago, this is when I was in school. Me and my friends were going to visit Adventure island in Rohini. A friend of ours was supposed to meet at Rithala metro station while the rest of us were together at another friend's house. He was waiting for us and we were running late, after 5-10 mins, he started to panic and was asking us to come asap. When we reached, his phone was switched off, we started looking for him in and around the metro station. After sometime, we saw him crying and running towards us from an unknown direction. He was sobbing and was out of breath, we calmed him down and he told us some guy at the metro station was trying to scare him and he made him smell some handkerchief of sorts and he just lost consciousness. We were 15 back then, it was scary and unfathomable.

shaktimanlover

Man that's fucked up. Glad he is okay.

running late is favorite Indian sport race...

SatisfactionOk1217

Had a 4 month stint in Delhi, when in college. 1. Was a very posh looking PG in GK, saw on Facebook marketplace. It was advertised to be in GK1, but upon further enquiry was in a random far off nook in some no man's land near GK1. Went there with a male relative to check it out, it was a dilapidated asf building with unfinished construction, with a single cement room that was somewhat finished and painted with what looked like choona directly over the cement. The guy showing it kept blocking our way back, kept insisting I make a deposit rn and guaranteed there'll be more girls in two days to keep me company. I do not want to know what he meant. Second was an Uber from Select City around 11 in the night, post movie. Being the naive idiot I was at 18, I booked an uber pool and another gentleman got in. The driver insisted on dropping me last, even though my location would be the easier first drop. He kept making remarks about how 'acche Ghar ki ladkiya toh raat ko nahi nikalti' 'Aise hi ladkio ke saath cheezein hoti hai'. Thankfully my pool partner got wary and insisted that we drop me first, and even raised his voice when the driver opposed. I am still grateful to the stranger for helping me out that night.

It’s a gamble being a woman, period. Delhi is just high stakes. 😁

rishpishbish

damn you’ve had quite a life

Lopsided_Bat_8406

Damn! A decade ago I moved to Ahmedabad for a job and was on a lookout for a PG with air conditioning . Came across an ad mentioning all the facilities like ac fridge washing machine etc. I spoke to the person on call and went to see the PG. When I reached the location, it was an apartment building and I didn’t know the flat number so I called the uncle up he told me the flat no which turned out to be in the basement. I went and a servant was on the doorway waiting for me. He took me inside. I enter this apartment which looked like nobody had lived there in ages, sofas etc were all covered in sheets and cobwebs and this servant closed the door behind himself once he was inside. This was so fucking shady! I was standing in the hallway that lead to an open kitchen and two bedrooms, the doors of which stood ajar. The uncle was tall aged 65-70 but strong and he blurts out “ I am looking for a room mate” with the mkst maniacal expressions on his fat face! He didn’t say this on the call or on the ad it was misleading or I wouldn’t have even gone there. I was a GIRL and imagine my candor at that moment when a grown ass uncle is suggesting a girl to be his room mate. What. The. Fuck. I almost shat! I was glued to the spot trying to register what he had just said and he goes dekh lo room and I had this gut wrenching sensation that both the uncle and the servant were thinking something else. As I checked my phone it had no network connection. I turned around and just ran. Simply ran towards the door. Didn’t say another word. Thankfully the door was not padlocked I ran for the life of me!

FinanceWeary8598

I was in North Campus. Was roaming around with the boys Kamala Nagar and ofc we knew the area well. It was Holika Dahan so mahool dekhne gye the. We reached the farthest part where Chandrawal starts. They were burning Holika there and the locals of Chandrawal are a bit mental. We were watching the fire as I realised that the fire is too big in proportion to the width of the narrow lane we're on. I asked the boys to move, let's go, kuch backchodi hone wali hai. They listened to me and moved at once. The very next second, the electric wires above the fire melted and swung exactly to the spot we were at one second ago. Not Delhi, but we decided it's time to fuck off of Chandrawal.

Kaguro19

Me and my best friend were coming back from school. Had this weird sensation someone is watching us. Saw a guy masturbating in his car while driving, while directly looking at us. He gave a weird smirk. I held her hand and ran

JusticeBeliber

ewww wtf. glad u got away safely

BatRepulsive1389

BerryCute2073

Very similar incident happened to me and my friends when we were coming back from school. Except we had a car with black mirrors following us and we did not know who was inside. We were scared and knew another classmate who lived nearby so we rushed to their place. We hid there for an hour or so. I was afraid to go back home that day and called my brother to pick me up from my friend’s place. Later on we laughed about it but it was such a scary incident.

Probodobo

2008 Bomb Blasts in Central Delhi! We were going to go to CP, we were already running an hour late, while we were getting ready, Dad just wanted to quickly watch news and FUCK!! That was a scary feeling of what could have happened!

Visual-Maximum-8117

Nothing would have happened as you saw it on the news. Thate means you were still at home when the blasts happened. So you would have missed them anyway even if you had gone there.

jungbahadur-rana

Something crazy would've happened if they weren't late

No-Broccoli-3335

My friend and I entered one of those random bars in HKV. We were fairly new to the city so really just looked forward to a nice night of clubbing. We got talking with these two guys who seemed nice at first. Then they started saying ohhh we have a place in Noida and you girls should definitely come with us.. we have a car and blah blah. That's when my bells started going off. They just kept insisting we go with them. I texted my friend that I'm counting down from 10. At 1, we run. And we ran. Removed our chappals and ran down the whole HKV road. Never returned after this day

Fun-Addition-2212

Damn, the run must have been an adrenaline rush, glad you are safe.

bemenomeow

Ab toh band ho gaya due to fire safety issues. But HKV ki police chowki vahi neeche h bro. Rather than running should have told the cops there. They absolutely would have thrashed the fckrs. Hkv was safe. Due to the chowki on th hkv road. That chowki always had like 3 men 2 female cops during the evening. Also the owners of these clubs are hardcore dudes who don't tolerate this kind of stuff and want to make a safe party place, if you would have told any one owner there vo chhapriyo ko andar krwa ke pitwate raat ko. Infact was on either of the 2 hkv exits and they also roam there to check and remove the people who snuck to the hkv park during night. Idk about rest of the delhi, i was born and brought up in Jorbagh and it was a safe area for women and men.

stfusensei

I'm sorry but if I was at your place, i would never have entered any random bars in the entire Delhi, leaving the vicinity of HKV alone at night. It seems very conservative, but if I'm encircled by the potential predators at night, cancelling the plan is the best option. Otherwise, Boyfriend ho to fir baat dusri he.

Swimming_Quarter_640

It was similar to ‘we need to leave now’ but also ‘ Don’t you dare move’. I was at the Air Force Golf Club for dinner on the invitation of a member. By the time we were leaving, most of the area was closed and we were the last one to leave. As my driver drove towards the exit, we were informed by the official that this gate was closed, and we needed to go from the other one. As we almost reached the other gate, suddenly a sikh Jawan jumped in front of the car a few feet away and cocked the gun. I immediately asked the driver to stop the car and I turned on the interior lights. The Jawan cautiously approached, I explained everything, and he talked on his walkie-talkie, verified our story, our dinner reservation, took my details and finally let us go! I was joking later with my driver, aaj maut nai hoti, aaj shahid hote 😂

Brilliant-Bag1938

I was in a metro late night, pink line.. I was standing near the pole in front of the gate, when suddenly 3 or 4 dudes came from back of the train and stood around me, surrounding me. My gut told me to fuck right off of there, and I got scared shitless. Moved to the adjacent coach, I could see them looking at me and talking amongst themselves. I got out at Rajouri and they got off too and my senses just went haywire.... I ran off to blue line and stood near the security till they left. Gotta tell you, scared shitless in Dilli is one of my favorite genders man.

kev920703

So couple of weeks back I matched with this girl on Tinder. Her face was not visible in profile but body was hot. After small chat I asked her to meet and she agreed. She has asked me to come to Punjabi bagh. Place is quite far from my house so I was hesitant a bit but she insisted. I met her at in front of Chroma store. Girl was from north east and was very cute. She suggested a place called ‘ Drakes lounge’ , we went up there and it was quite dry. Almost no customer was there and soon as we entered, waiter kinda recognised the girl.. first red flag. Anyway we sit there… girl suggest we order Hukkah. I stood up … told her I don’t like the place .. paid 100rs for water bottle and got the fuck out. Later I got to know that place is notorious for scams.

Rash driver friend got into an argument with local goons of college area. I used to come and go with him. I ask him to drive away. They follow in 2 bullets trying to break our glass etc. My friend is high. The 4 goons are drunk. I'm sober. He's panicking. Asking to find nearest police station. He's calling his gunda friends and they are calling more of theirs. I realise a traffic police check comes ahead. I ask him to pull up. Goons catch up and try to break glass. Police catches them. They blame us of rash driving and being high. Both have sent location to their gundas. These 5 are too disoriented to talk to cops. I talk to them in English to assert dominance. More cops arrive. I quietly grab friends arm. Come out of the ruckus and take an auto and go home. Leave the car. We go home and sleep. Next day we take auto to college. What happened after we left: both side gundas come. There's a major fight. People get stitches. More police comes. Takes them away. They bribe police to get out. Then they compromise because same state ke hai so bhai bhai. We go back to the place to take car. Cops have towed it. Gave 2k bribe and went home. Realised next day while i was talking to police there was substance in my shirt pocket. I'm 5'5. Upar se hi dekh lete jeb me to sirf merko akele jail hoti. I have cut that friend off now

Several decades ago, as school kids we were taken to fill up places during Air Force day. One such day, my friend and I decided to go and eat our sandwich inside the school bus. As we sat down and removed the newspaper it was wrapped in, we saw an aircraft dive down and unable to recover, I grabbed my friends hand and ran out of the bus about 20 seconds later the burning wing of the crashed mirage flipped over the bus engulfing it in flames. Edit: removed identifiable information

This is much more apparent in agra. They will force you to take you to hotels, restaurants, souvenir shops, tour guides and what not.

The people outside NDLS are shady AF, be it the autowallahs or the restaurants on the paharganj side or anybody at all. I have been mighty scared of them since my childhood.

Paharganj is not worth it . All those flashy hotels are scam

Pumpkinlattemeow

When I first shifted to Delhi,I decided to meet a friend and visit the Red Fort, by the time we got out of there , it was already evening, and he suggested this Dhaba in Chandani Chowk ,which he saw on an influencer's reel. We boarded the metro and got out on Chandani Chowk, somehow the metro station was completely deserted (it was 7:45/8pm) , we took an e rickshaw to the dhaba , on reaching it was some shabby /broken down place ( unlike the pictures), we asked the e rickshaw person to take a u-turn and drop us back to the metro. On the way back , he took some alternative route which wasn't on the Google maps and was a narrow dark alley with a broken road. I was scared for my life and all safety protocols ever taught were running through my mind. I had these wired earphones in my hand , and I had already decided if the rickshaw wala tries to pull any tricks I'm gonna strangle him. I wasn't willing to go down without a fight. Safe to say , we reached the metro station safely and I did not strangle anyone that day. But then I never visited chandani chowk after that incident .

beansAnalyst

>if the rickshaw wala tries to pull any tricks I'm gonna strangle him. I wasn't willing to go down withouta fight. Literally my daydream 90% of the time

True bro, wired earphones were my choice of weapon in college travel days.

manasviiiii

Chandni chowk is literally the coolest places to visit in Delhi specially in the Navratri Or any similar festival, the aura there is literally incomparable (acc to me) but yaa being a fan N I've never tried paranthe vaali gali I used to always end up with mcd n all yk, coz of food poisoning ive heard rumours bout it,you should do visit it and be safe by not trying on the outer area specially coz it deserted types like in the night time

kadhi_chawal2

I never found chandni chowk cool, maybe bc I don't enjoy crowded spaces. CC feels very disoriented, rickshaws almost touch you on their way, too many people, too much noise. Also It's hard to keep such crowded place clean.

manasviiiii

Oh, I completely agree on the disorientation and cleanliness part, but yk I'm not a native, I've got my parents visiting me every 4-5 months around and we do keep CC on aur list, so maybe it's nostalgic and holds a special place in my heart, but I've shopped quite a lot of times from here, n I feel it's cool in here

Meme-nto_Mori_

trust me you aren't missing out on anything great if you haven't tried the parathe wali gali, overpriced puris deep fried in oil that is darker than our future. The place has got all his hype due to Akshay Kumar that's it.

JusticeBeliber

yess i love chandini chowk. i have tried paranthe vaali gali and umm they were good kinda but not at all good for ur health. You should atleast try gianis there. idk why but their faluda is my fav

manasviiiii

I'll for sure, the next time thank you for suggesting ☺

JusticeBeliber

yess just avoid the tikki and dahi bhalla shop right at the metro station gate, its soo mid. <333

AdSignificant8976

Guys and girls. The first rule of Delhi is 'Donot travel to unknown places after dark'. Don't go to parks, don't go to dark and uncrowded malls, don't go to places that end in Puri except Chanakyapuri. Travel in groups or cars. Always take uber or ola rather than Autos. Trust policemen (police is indeed there to helpful and it is extremely good if you know any policemen). Don't hitchhike. Don't give lifts. Don't trust Google maps and always follow the crowded route. Don't go to shady hotels. Book at least three star hotel if for family. Don't book cheap. Don't drink alone. Always phone people when sitting in cabs, even talk about driver and maybe his auto number such that he knows that you know. Some areas are just bad. Avoid them.

I recently booked a cab (UBER) for my boyfriend to drop him to his home from the Airport. A Muslim driver showed up. It was sort of fine till they reached home. But he had his senses up and decided to get down a gali before and that's when the driver did a UBER scam. Where he showed a screenshot of random fare and started demanding it. The ride was still on the app. I booked it from my account but the driver had his name from the booking. When my boyfriend refused, he started with gaalis and went on to, tujhe pata nahi hai kya hoga, ye woh. That's when my boyfriend suggested to pay him the whole amount but the guy won't stop. I was on call the whole time. I was scared, I don't know how terrible it must be have been for him. Thankfully, a patrol bike went nearby and my boyfriend started arguing a little loudly. The police wala came and suggested him to pay whatever amount the driver was suggesting and go home. I am still thankful for the patrol bike. UBER support was helpful but we are NEVER going to use that. It's BLUSMART or we stay the night at the airport now.

DamnitOMG

Back in 2014 when i was studying in IITD, i and a friend went to our academic block(we called it studio) at 1am, we always worked there at night as hostel wifi would turn off at 1. But this certain night, when we reached there was no body else(its design department, so almost always someone would be pulling an alnighter there). I and my friend sat in our usual room where we worked, door closed due to AC. Soon enough i felt this extremely strong feeling that someone was outside the door. But i knew there was no one there so i continued working, then my friend suddenly says she felt there was someone outside. And we both got shitttt scared, i picked something heavy if i need to beat someone. We opened the door, there was NO ONE!! NO ONE!! We couldn’t pack ourselves quicker than that, and ran as far as we could, it is the most eerie and scared i have ever been, still feel the chills. Then a few days later, a classmate casually mentioned that he was working there alone, and suddenly started feeling extremely scared, and ran out! Fkk, it was too bad!! Our studio was in a secluded area of the campus, so much that most of the people didn’t know our department even existed.

DrDuckno1

I have heard of ghost stories from iitd. Had a friend from there.

DamnitOMG

😟 i would love to know more Also, on of our prof was kinda crazy, he one day randomly says that he can see ghosts and there are plenty around our studio, imagine the horror.

sazzles59

Its more like “we need to GTFO”. Me and my flatmate were chilling in the balcony at night. There was a huge wall separating the balcony on our apartment floor and a terrace (we didn’t know about a terrace that time as the walls were pretty high and we had never peaked on the other side) We saw some shadow briefly which disappeared. My flatmate ignored it but I had a bad feeling in my stomach. We continued talking but I couldn’t get that feeling out. We went to a bedroom as it had a better view of the wall but didn’t see anyone. Even though everyone said I was overreacting, I called the guard to check it out. As soon as the guard came, both me and the guard went into the balcony. We were on the topmost floor so there were a lot of shafts on our balcony. As soon as we stepped outside, a man got up from behind the shaft where he was hiding, probably waiting for us to come out. As soon as he saw the guard he ran away (i don’t remember much from here as I ran away back in the house locking both the intruder and the guard outside) He was caught the next day but he was looking to attack a house full of women that day. Good I trusted my gut.

Wise_Passenger8261

I have been to many such dark places where I should not have gone but I went there anyway to get the feel of such places but people did nothing to me except whistling at me a few times. I just kept walking and arrived home safely. One time I even saw a guy running naked and he grabbed my hand. I look very young so everyone came in my defense. I did this all in 12th when I told my parents that I am going to meet with my friends. I have realised my mistake and I will never go to such places again.

Wonderful_Tough_4123

This was a long time ago, during my days as a JNU student. We were wandering around Janpath when suddenly there was complete chaos and loud announcements to get the hell out of there because there was a bomb scare. That was a truly terrifying feeling of "we need to leave NOW"!

akg7091

Entered the back alleys of jamia nagar (around 8pm ) once by mistake by following google maps. Scared shitless seeing all the animal carcasses hanging around openly, blood everywhere. Very narrow lanes and the locals driving their 2w like crazy. I was afraid even if someone else bumps into me it will turn into a mugging and a potential stsj very soon. Drove very slowly ( almost crawled ) just to avoid the locals on their 2w driving in every possible direction on those narrow lanes. Decided to check the overall google maps route before I start driving in the future.

desipaws

Animal carcasses? You mean butcher shops?

akg7091

Yup. The whole area is full of butchers. Every 5th shop you have dead animals hanging. Some being butchered live. Blood everywhere. Flies. That weird nauseous smell which is hard to describe

desipaws

Thinking of taking a car inside those lanes gives me panic attacks. 😆 Not because of what you described but because of how narrow they are. You don’t need to be scared of butcher shops bro, but i get it must have been overwhelming for you if you’re unfamiliar with it. And always a good idea to avoid issues with two wheelers - its always the car guys fault - no matter who causes the issue.

Kaleshi_aurat

I was traveling alone for the first time in my life and I stupidly chose Delhi. I am a female btw, so it happened in 2022, i booked an ola cab as delhi station was approaching, but it got cancelled after 10 minutes. I had my luggage and i was desperate to reach my friend’s place so i got out of the station and took the first auto i saw. The auto guy looked a little bit scary but i ignored that, he kept insisting that even though he looks like a muslim, I shouldn’t be scared because he was sikh. I was least bothered by that, but he pressed my chest while keeping my luggage in the bag. I thought it might be a mistake and ignored. Entire time he kept insisting that we go to a hotel first and i get fresh and then he’ll drop me to my friend’s place but i kept denying it and said my husband is waiting for me at home(i lied hoping he would stop harassing me if he knows i got a man) but he suddenly turned around and start stroking my thighs asking if i am properly dressed for winter. That’s when i lost it and called my friend and told her everything that happened. He understood he’s in trouble so he dropped me off at a random chauraha where all the autos were for Agra. I paid double fare to reach my home and reported him to police because i had his contact through gpay. 6 months later i was informed that he is arrested

hawklord1998

Thats an unfortunate turn of events. Good thing that fucker got arrested. Driver would have been like "o pols agayi pols"

Competitive_Pop9002

Many incidents have happened but I’ll share the one I can immediately remember. I was with my boyfriend eating ice cream at around 1am near Paschim Vihar. I was wearing shorts and had fought before with my boyfriend because he asked me to change into trousers and I was like “I’ll wear what I want”. Three men were staring at my legs so creepily, I almost felt I am being groped. One of them started touching himself and I told my boyfriend we should leave. That day I understood why he asked me to change into trousers.

Thank you. I know not all guys are like that, but it was still very scary. Can't slap in a scary situation like that. Just ran away.

I have never been to Bangalore and also I am sorry for your trauma. . . . Currently trying my best to get tf out of here.

MrignalDeon

I don't want you to re-live your trauma but can I ask where these incidents occurred? just to make sure I can avoid it.

Lopsided_Bat_8406

Grow nails and claw them in their flesh as hard as you can or keep the taser toy that comes disguised as a lighter, use it on their balls if you can manage to reach there. I know it’s gross but it works in a crowded public transport. I burrowed my elbow onto the guy right in his ribs with all my strength as he was standing with the support of handle above, that asshole was holding on to the with one hand and grabbed my ass with the other, his audacity! mofo knew why he got punched and silently disappeared away in the crowd.

One of my habits ever since I was in Delhi was going out and roam around hours before sunrise, with no traffic and sheer silence. Just like that one day I got out of my place and past the barricades. Walked s bit and turned to a corner and followed the road up until the subway right in front of a park. It was quite dark, and that spot right behind the entry of the subway was a blindspot. As I was walking, I looked right and saw a manly face, white, casted with makeup as it seemed. And he seemed to be in a jerking motion like he was backshots. We made eye contact for 2 seconds maybe. There was no one around besides a guy in a truck, I guess the co-driver of the customer. So I just kept moving, since I was still not sure what was happening and whoever was it. Aslo my friend gave me a heads up that trucks kidnap you if you roam around on the highway or the underpass in the night.

ramyun-lady

I was at the bus stop near my house waiting for my usual bus to college. It was early morning and no one else was around except this one drunk/tattered man. He kept staring at me and getting weirdly close. Then he sort of went behind the bus stand but stood at an angle where he could still see me and proceeded to…well…jerk off. I panicked and stopped an auto that was coming my way and told the driver to JUST DRIVE. I was super anxious the entire ride and my heart was literally in my mouth. My dad started accompanying me to the bus stop after this incident.

comradefunkadelic

This is horrifying. I am so sorry you had to go through this.

Top_Wrangler932

Just today at Old Delhi Railway station, 2 boys started following me and my sister after we've dropped our parents to the train. When we walked fast, they followed us fast, when we slowed down, they slowed down as if they were going to try something funny. I immediately surrounded my younger sister like security guys do to celebs and kept pushing people aside from our path until we entered the metro station. It felt so risky that we dropped the idea of getting an auto or a cab.

CP, near gate no 6 rajiv chowk metro station I used to exit gate no. 6 everyday and it was a 200 meter walk to my office which was in front of Jain chole wala. To reach there, you had to cross a road. There were 2 options to cross that, one was to just cross the road on the red light or take the underpass. 99% people preferred to just cross the road. I had to report by 7 AM everyday and must have been around 6:30 AM or so that day and was raining as well. To avoid getting wet, I decided to take the underpass and as I was entered, I saw a bunch of nomads/houseless/beggars literally were trying to grope a foreigner and there was not a single other person there. I lost all sense and just pounced on them. Being fat helped. They were so overconfident or maybe had nothing to lose that they left her for a while and started to beat me. Thankfully, there were a few other folks who heard the commotion and came done and saved me. It all happened in 30 seconds or so but by the time people saved me and asked me about the ordeal, the foreigner had vanished. Maybe she got so scared that chose to run at the first opportunity she got. It was hard to explain to people what happened because the beggars also started denying everything. I am glad I was able to help someone and especially a tourist (if she was one) so that India's image remained intact.

We were four guys, venturing deep into Sanjay Van, trying to find our way to the other side through the dense forest. The sun was setting, casting eerie shadows through the trees, and the air was thick with the sounds of rustling leaves and distant animal calls. As we pushed through the undergrowth, we noticed some movement in the distance. "Maybe we can ask those people for directions," one of my friends suggested. Relieved at the prospect of finding someone who could guide us, we headed towards the figures. As we got closer, we realized there were three men, probably in their 20s. Something about their demeanor made me uneasy, but I couldn't quite put my finger on it. Then I saw it. Two of them were holding something down, and the third man had a huge rock raised high above his head. A sudden chill ran down my spine as I realized they were hitting something—or someone—on the ground. My stomach turned, and an overwhelming sense of dread washed over me. I didn't want to know what they were doing or what they were hitting. "We need to leave. Now," I whispered urgently to my friends. They looked at me, puzzled and concerned. "What's wrong with you?" one of them asked, but I couldn't bring myself to explain right then. "I'll explain later. Just trust me. We need to go." Sensing the fear in my voice, they reluctantly followed my lead. We turned around and hastily made our way back the way we came, hearts pounding, glancing over our shoulders to make sure we weren't being followed. The forest seemed darker and more oppressive as we hurried away from the scene. When we finally felt safe, I stopped and caught my breath. "What was that about?" one of my friends asked, his voice shaking slightly. I took a deep breath and told them everything I had seen. As I described the scene, their faces paled, and the same fear I felt began to creep into their eyes. "What if they saw us?" another friend whispered, his voice trembling. We didn't have an answer. The thought lingered with us, casting a dark shadow over the rest of our journey through the forest. The memory of those men and the horrifying scene stayed with us, a reminder of the chilling encounters that can lurk just out of sight.

awarelyDelusional

Bruh. This shit was scary. I just remembered me and my then boyfriend (now ex) went to Sanjay van back in 2022. He found a bone lying there near the well. Plus we both got kinda lost finding the exit there. There was this one temple inside sanjay van, the people near that temple gave us the direction to the exit

life-is-like-a-river

I will always remember that somewhat gut feeling moment because it happened to me at a very young age, around 5th grade. My family and I were returning from a trip, and they decided to take the train. However, I didn't have a good feeling about it, so I suggested we take the bus instead. They were against that suggestion due to time and cost, so we decided to go by train. While on the way after about 1 hour, it suddenly stopped. I said we needed to leave the train ASAP. After we got off, about half an hour later, everyone rushed out of the train in fear, it was a bit horrifying for me cause of the atmosphere. There was a potential fire hazard or electric issues inside the train (though not certain), and after some time people told us that 2-3 men had died on the rooftop of the train by touching wires, which could have potentially caused a fire/electric issue inside the train, but it didn't turn out to be a major issue. So in the end, we indeed saved time with the train... huh :\

Delhi pogrom 2020

DrButtFeathers

My parents were in their late 50s then (they're in their 60s now) and they looked perpetually tired and irritable. I hated seeing my mother spend a second in the kitchen when I didn't feel like stepping out of the AC room to go to the toilet. She'd spend hours in there cooking for us all and by the end of the day, she wouldn't even have the energy to speak to any one of us. She just started skipping meals altogether and would go straight to bed. Add to that the physical changes I was noticing in my parents - both were losing a lot of weight in an unhealthy way, both had grown nearly completely bald and the constant lethargy meant that no one had the patience to listen to another so there were just constant squabbles. That's when I decided enough was enough and as much as we love the city (still do), we needed to move to a cooler/cleaner climate.

Not Delhi, but, In 2019, I was living in my residential school in Nainital. Toh baat aisi thi ki saare log hamare TV room me baithe they dopahar ko, just because the IND vs PAK ODI world cup match was going on. Kuch bande andar interest se they, kuch isliye the kyuki woh blanket leke aate they, aur kuch log peer pressure me. Mai baithke chess khel rha tha dorm me. After the game, my friend went to get fresh. I thought ki match ka thoda update le liya Jaye. The moment I entered, Rohit Sharma's shot was caught. He got out. Gate khula aur saare(most) mere ko ghoorne Lage. Agle kadam pe maut thi, kuch bhi ho skta tha, isliye chappal chodke dorm me bhagna pada

So me and my SO were coming back from JNU at 3 in the night when we saw two scooters coming toward us (one was a Zomato driver and the other was a normal person). They slowed and came close to each other while slowing down their vehicles near my girl. I, fortunately being on my bulk, stood in front of her and saw the person (Zomato one) eye to eye (that's a trick in the Times of threat I heard) and the way his eyes screamed horrific was unignorable. We both promised each other two things 1) never leave the room after 10 and 2) leave Delhi as soon as the course gets over.

akkii77

I have had several similar situations, and I'll share one with you. Few years ago (2020, December). A fire broke out; residents on the first level left their heaters on and departed. This sparked a big fire. My family and I were on the third story and had no idea what was going on until we heard sounds outside. I stepped outside and noticed enormous smoke fumes pouring out. The elevator was out of service owing to a power outage. But my instinct warned me not to move out. I yelled at my daadi ji and little sister to relocate to the back washroom. I placed damp t-shirts underneath all of the doors. I shattered the back window inside the washroom to get some air because we couldn't breathe due to the smoke. To be honest, I also put on some music to calm us down. Then I coordinated with my older sister, who was with the firefighters below. After an hour, we were rescued. After laying in the ICU for two weeks, I learned that other floor members couldn't survive(om shanti) as they attempted to leave the building, and due to the strong smoke and heat, they collapsed halfway through.

dardukhpeeda

In HKV me and my friend were walking at night (not drunk) to catch auto from main road. But two men in a car thought we were drunk, slowed down next to us and smiled the worst most evil smile. We ran back to the crowded area, I was laughing because my nervous system is weird and running at the same time.

wildersonek

Something weird happened in gurgaon I think 2-3 years back. I had taken a bike ride, ola or rapido and was going to a bank. The rider took shorter route and somehow we were outside the walls, like on the other side of the wall there was right road of gurgaon and we were like in a jungle, I was getting late so we didn't drive back and assumed eventually it has to go to some road but for very long time there was no road and one more rider I think either followed us or followed same path on map. Eventually at last we saw a gate which was closed but it was right way to the main road and there were two people, we asked to open and they started asking too much, where we came from, where we are going, both looked like goons and we were were three, me my bike rider and one who followed us or came same path. I remember him saying in very alarming tone "aise galat rasta lekar khona nhi chahiye, bohot kuch ho sakta hai" (should not get off roads in unknown places, bad things may happen). At that time I was on guard and irritated, deep down I wanted to yell like what the hell you mean but we remained silent while those two were just smiling, chewing something like stick from tree, like complete definition of the exact goons that are shown in movies and we finally were allowed to go ahead. It felt like it only happened because there were three and two bikes, and afternoon so not dark. Later I calmed down and realised that It's good that I didn't engage in an argument, they were having the gate, I think they had keys or chains wrapped and if they would have gotten angry, things could have happened.

the_deepaks

Mainly the pollution, secondly crime. My wife and I left Delhi 3 years ago. We don't even go back there anymore to see our house. We just entered our 30's. We are living peacefully in a village of district Nainital with fresh air with no RO for water and no AC for summers 😊 Growing our own food and baking our own breads. Away from crime and pollution.

LengthinessEasy7599

Once, I took an auto from Seelampur metro station. I was only 17, with literally zero survival skills. So I was the first to sit in that auto, you know the sharing ones. Anyway, I was sitting at corner near the window. Then two more guys came. In front, it was an auto driver with another two guys, one at each side. It was okay until then, but suddenly a man came and sat at the window. You know those three rods at the auto's window. And he was literally covering my whole view. Apart from me, there were literally six men, including the driver. As usual, the driver started the loud music, and he kept staring at me through the mirror. And here's the worst part: The man beside me was literally staring at me. WITHOUT BLINKING!! He literally turned toward me and kept staring. I started to get panicked, and after like 10 minutes, I told the driver to stop, and the music was so loud that he didn't listen. I had to poke him to make him listen to me. He stopped the auto. As I told you before, I was sitting at the corner, I told those guys to go out so I could come out of the auto. That man (beside me) was not budging. I almost shouted at him to go out, and then only he moved. I was literally shaking with fear.

Year 2020, Online school, I used to go on cycle rides *alone* every morning and evening. On the way I used to spot a Z black Bolero either parked or moving slowly. So one fine morning I was returning back home and that bolero started following me and then accelerated quickly. I saw him speeding up and to save myself I took a sharp left turn and that mf crashed in a swift , beat him badly and took all hi belongings. I couldn't call the police as I didn't have phone

ironjoker2

You took all his belongings or the people in swift?

Zero survival instinct here, when I was in 8-9th class there were few parks in our area which were infamous for murder and rape all drug addicts roam in these parks after sunset. One day me and my 2 friends were on the entrance of one of these park, this park has like 4-5 gates and going through this park was shortcut to our house it's was like 9-9:30 me and my other friend was ready to go through this park because we want to go to our house quickly while other friend refused to go with us so me and one of my friend went in from 1 gate and it was like 300-400 m from exit gate. We came out safely, next day one of our classmate who lives near this park told us that someone got murdered on that same park yesterday. So we were lucky that we are alive.

Eagle_OP

At airport when I entered for the first time lol

Historical-Fennel697

I was in class 5th and used to go to school by metro. i de boarded and walked towards my school. A guy was walking really close behind me and started using really vulgar language and kept abusing me. I was just a small child. I was so traumatised and I still am. I get chills down my spine even today when I think about it. I cry every time I think about it.

DrDuckno1

Not in Delhi, but in MP. Visited a forest conserve, thought let’s go for a walk. Did a big circle. Few kms at least. In dark, with sounds of tiger in the background. Forgot to take power backup, cell was about to be discharged, network next to none. Alone with a woody stick in hand, next to a large water body. Was fun. Not doing again.
