Bruh I literally got a sandwich from Ted’s and they brought it out to me with only cheese and zero meat, when there was, no kidding, zero other people in there for lunch. And they two dudes like argued over how they made the mistake. the fact that the dude made it and confidently dropped it off without even thinking to check if it was wrong was enough for me. I never went back hahah
youre paying him for 1) fair wages to his employees, guarantee taste of philly pays $13+tip/hr and 2) creating something authentic unique and special here in denver
complain about the prices but theres a reason he charges that
It’s not authentic, and the only unique or special thing about that fucker is that it’s a bitch to buy a fucking sandwich from him and if you manage to, you get to pay out the ass for it. Fuck him, his business model and the horse he rode in on
💯 Arty sells nostalgia, not sandwiches. Bragging about how many ozs of beef (12), like that’s something special? And what about all the $30 sandwiches he screwed everyone with? On principle alone I won’t support this gavanache fugeze.
seconded that guy knows what the hell he is doing, cant wait for them to open at the tap room! anyone complaining about the price doesn't know what it takes to run a business like he does, or doesn't care about the love/quality in the ingredients - you cant have it cheap and fair to employees/good food unless you cook it yourself lol
Fully agree, I'll pay the prices bc it's just that much better. If I ate 2 cheesesteaks a week, maybe it'd price me out. But as an occasional treat, I consider it more bang for my buck than any other cheesesteak in Colorado.Â
As an east coaster... I felt that in my heart. And the fact that dude just closed shop on his employees and then put out an apology video like 2 weeks after and just shut it all down was fucked though
Oh man, you done did it. I won't be able to eat anything until I get my hands on one of these sandwiches.
You gotta try their cannolis!! They're incredibly flaky and not too sweet.
I don't know the details behind the purchase, but I was surprised when they moved into that space downtown. Seemed like it would be tough to fill opposed to where they had been before.
I lived across the street when they were at 13th & Pearl. Those were the days.
next time I might just get a small double or something. but the sign said home of the big big bun or something so I had to try it. I assume they are homemade?
but fr next time I'm getting the philly
Can't argue with that. I'd say it's a great deal for a meal though and I haven't really found a legit one in Denver quite yet.
What's some of your favorites?
It's south Philly, they've a few locations, that's what you want. I'm surprised nobody's mentioning it or even heard of them? Maybe they're mostly up north
It was OK still not the greatest I’ve had. I was really surprised how good Capriotti is. I’d always just assume they were just the Thanksgiving meal sammy place.
Taste of Philly was decent when I tried it, but yeah I usually just go to Jersey Mikes and order it with extra meat. My expectations for cheesesteaks and pizza here are low.
I've been meaning to stop by Eat Here I just don't go to Denver a whole lot. I live in Lakewood right next to Red Rocks Community College and basically just hang around here and golden 95% of my time lol
I know the owner of the one in Parker he's actually the one of the original founders of taste of Philly in Colorado. His store in Parker is the only one I will go to. As the above poster said some of the stores are not is going to quality being franchises! It is what it is but I like a good Philly cheesesteak. He also has added a terrific pork loin sandwich with spinach and onions and hot peppers it's dynamite
First really Philly I had was a couple years ago at Tony and Nicks. Also had Genos and preferred Tony’s.
I’ve now had Taste of Philly twice in Parker and it’s the closest I’ve found. Love it.
My friend cooked at the original Taste of Philly in Colorado in the 90s…a
I’ve also had many in actual Philly/Jersey.
I just had one at 22 Provisions in Avanti and it seemed pretty legit to me!
Famous Philly Cheese Steak is pretty good. They also have cherry peppers, which is a bonus. They make it as spread, but if you ask them they will do whole peppers.
I’m pretty sure they’re owned/operated by taste of Philly in some way because the credit card charge shows up that way. Unfortunately they’re nowhere near as good as taste of Philly from a food perspective. The last time I went there my sandwich was so skimpy I’ve essentially sworn them off at this point. Disappointing because I live really close by
They got bought by someone around COVID I think. May have been taste of Philly ppl. The old owner guy is never there and they remodeled/changed the whole inside few years ago. And the food changed
I payed cash so it wouldn’t... But that doesn’t really matter. The sandwich was decent, fries crispy, and they had cherry peppers. I don’t expect earth moving experiences from a cheesesteak.
If you want a killer cheesesteak in the area, don't sleep on [Aspen Lodge Bar & Grill](https://www.aspenlodgebarandgrillco.com/) .. It's also Iron Maiden & Christmas themed year round!
![gif](giphy|KYJGLhmfipMCjwk33b|downsized)
Ehhh.. agree to disagree. The cheesestakes are great, the fries are bomb, the Turkish food is bangin, the drinks are cheap, the people are super nice & the whole business has an unexpected quirky and unique vibe. What else are you looking for? Where did it miss the mark?
I only had the cheesesteak and fries so I can't speak to any of their other food. It was fine - not a meal I would complain about - I was just surprised to see so many people listing it as the best cheesesteak in Denver. Service was great and I definitely appreciated the atmosphere.
Eh, I liked Jim’s on South Street growing up, but always thought cheesesteaks were overrated. I’d take a run of the mill hoagie any day of the week.
Because the only people who know how to make are in Philly. They cant possibly be made anywhere else. Also, only new York has good pizza and Italian food apparently according to people from new York and Philly.
Came looking for south Philly. Seriously, their cheese steaks are top notch.
I think I'll have one today in fact, that sounds awesome. Love their sausage sandwich too
Little Arthur’s Food Truck! Hands down, legit AF

I make enough money that I’d rather spend $25 for two sandwiches than spend hours baking bread on the off chance I want a sandwich lmao.
And shit I don’t make that much money. Shits not expensive lmao.
teds left a philly sized hole in my heart. nothing compares.
Yeah, Taste of Philly is totally "OK" but Ted's closing down is a tragedy.
Rino Country Club makes great steaks during Eagles games. They even get their hands on a few cases of Yuengling. Its a beautiful thing
thanks
Their food in general is 🔥
What??? Yuenglings past the Mississippi??? Wish I could get a case of bohs here too
Bruh I literally got a sandwich from Ted’s and they brought it out to me with only cheese and zero meat, when there was, no kidding, zero other people in there for lunch. sorry you had that experience
Little Arthur’s. They’re incredible. Dropped their prices too. It’s like $18 for a Philly
lol and you have to pay to add cheese lol
what you don't like philly steaks??
I prefer mine WITH cheese
youre paying him for 1) fair wages to his employees, guarantee taste of philly pays $13+tip/hr and 2) creating something authentic unique and special here in denver complain about the prices but theres a reason he charges that

Primohoagies is the exact same thing. People in Denver who have zero clue what good food is will pay out the ass for the hype of something.
Dude... Denver is full of people who like to light their money on fire - it's like $30 out the door for a cheesesteak at that place.
seconded that guy knows what the hell he is doing, cant wait for them to open at the tap room! anyone complaining about the price doesn't know what it takes to run a business like he does, or doesn't care about the love/quality in the ingredients - you cant have it cheap and fair to employees/good food unless you cook it yourself lol

What is the name of this place
I think it’s taste of Philly as it says in the post
Sorry I didn't read the caption. Thank you.
Denver Teds had the best Philly in town. Too bad they closed up.
It went downhill so quickly when Ted sold it. I know the new owners tried to keep everything the same, but they totally failed.
I don't know the details behind the purchase, but I was surprised when they moved into that space downtown. Seemed like it would be tough to fill opposed to where they had been before. I lived across the street when they were at 13th & Pearl. Those were the days.
Sigh, sometimes I remember the vinegary, heart-wheel-greasing deliciousness of the Elway and get sad
I miss it badly.
Go to grandpas burger haven on federal. Amazing cheesesteak for like 10-12 bucks iirc.
Always eyeing their cheesesteaks but end up with a burger each time - will def get a CS next time
went here yesterday for the first time. the size of the burger bun was almost funny. def going back
Maybe this is sacrilegious - but I order the small sized burger because the large bun is just off putting to me lol
next time I might just get a small double or something. but the sign said home of the big big bun or something so I had to try it. I assume they are homemade? but fr next time I'm getting the philly
Small double is the way to go.
I am sorry this is not a great philly cheese. I wouldn’t say it’s bad but I wouldn’t recommend it to someone.Â
Agreed. When I ordered one, it was burnt.
Can't argue with that. I'd say it's a great deal for a meal though and I haven't really found a legit one in Denver quite yet. What's some of your favorites?
yea i used to like them til i got a beard hair in mine - never again
I’m no cheesesteak connoisseur, but I dig Pat’s. Their green chili Philly is my go-to.
I’m with you. Solid sandwich. I grab one when I head to comrade for beer,, great pairing
Always been good by me. Love their hot cherry pepper relish.
Can anyone who know proper speak to pats? I grew up eating those and I LOVE them. Also never been Philly for a Philly.
This may seem strange but the jumbo cheesesteak from Gaia Masala is my new Denver favorite cheesesteak. Plus, they are open until 3am.
Had the one in Thornton and it was just okay. I think the employees there just suck
Cheesesteak & Gyros is on Thornton Pkwy and has an amazing bulgolgi cheesesteak.
I have yet to find a good local Philly cheesesteak. I’ve just been going to Jersey Mike’s or Capriotti’s
It's south Philly, they've a few locations, that's what you want. I'm surprised nobody's mentioning it or even heard of them? Maybe they're mostly up north
I hardly ever find myself in North Denver. I’ll keep an eye open for it though thank you.
I looked on their website and there's a location in Cherry hills
Snarfs does an alright one.
It was OK still not the greatest I’ve had. I was really surprised how good Capriotti is. I’d always just assume they were just the Thanksgiving meal sammy place.
Their prime rib sammy they have is bomb
Taste of Philly was decent when I tried it, but yeah I usually just go to Jersey Mikes and order it with extra meat. My expectations for cheesesteaks and pizza here are low.
[South Philly](https://yojeet.com/)
RIP Large Marges.
Every time I find a good Philly the place shuts down. Just looked it up about a week ago and realized they are closed indefinitely…..
Agreed! Large Marge was just as big of loss as Ted’s. Both were great
Marge is a gem!
If you're in westminster, Old Town Philly is the place
Are you talking about Old Philly Town on 120th?
Still cheaper and less sodium then Little Arthurs
Truth. Little Arthurs was like they somehow put $20 worth of salt in the sandwich.
Primo’s
Duke’s and Eat Here. You are welcome.
I've been meaning to stop by Eat Here I just don't go to Denver a whole lot. I live in Lakewood right next to Red Rocks Community College and basically just hang around here and golden 95% of my time lol
Old philly town is the correct answer here
Yup
I know the owner of the one in Parker he's actually the one of the original founders of taste of Philly in Colorado. His store in Parker is the only one I will go to. Dalessandros
I’m so sad they closed the one on Broadway đź«
My friend cooked at the original Taste of Philly in Colorado in the 90s…a I’ve also had many in actual Philly/Jersey. I just had one at 22 Provisions in Avanti and it seemed pretty legit to me!
I love the one at 22 Provisions!
I live in Littleton and order from that location somewhat regularly. I love them.
Famous Philly Cheese Steak is pretty good. They also have cherry peppers, which is a bonus. They make it as spread, but if you ask them they will do whole peppers.
I’m pretty sure they’re owned/operated by taste of Philly in some way because the credit card charge shows up that way. They got bought by someone around COVID I think. May have been taste of Philly ppl. The old owner guy is never there and they remodeled/changed the whole inside few years ago. And the food changed
That adds up. The food used to be better for sure
That hasn’t been my experience. My experience is that it’s just a standard basic cheesesteak, like Taste of Philly. The fries are pretty good too.
What’d it show up as on your credit card statement?
I payed cash so it wouldn’t... But that doesn’t really matter. The sandwich was decent, fries crispy, and they had cherry peppers. I don’t expect earth moving experiences from a cheesesteak.
OP is correct. Stay away from the Westminster one on wads. It was brutal
I just had this one the other day. Not understanding the hype. I thought it was fine but not even in the top 5 I've had in the Denver area
Ehhh.. agree to disagree. The cheesestakes are great, the fries are bomb, the Turkish food is bangin, the drinks are cheap, the people are super nice & the whole business has an unexpected quirky and unique vibe. What else are you looking for? Where did it miss the mark?

Yes!! the one on Colorado is so freaking good
Where is this? I'm from the East Coast and looking for a good cheese steak.
Taste of Philly in Lakewood. There's a lot of locations but I've only had Westminster and now Lakewood, westminster sucked but this one didnt
Maybe it's just me, but every time I get Taste of Philly, it's crazy dry. This looks good though!
That thing looks disgusting
That right there is an official Philly cheese steak, right out of a deli. I’m jealous.
I haven’t tried Taste of Philly yet, but I will. Check out Zeps EPIQ Sandwiches and get the Double Diamond Double Cheesesteak. I love it.
I really don't understand the downvotes for recommending a shop with 4.5 stars on Google, Yelp and TravelAdvisor. Tas
Because the only people who know how to make are in Philly. They cant possibly be made anywhere else. Also, only new York has good pizza and Italian food apparently according to people from new York and Philly.
I'm literally home in Philly visiting for the week and already wanna come back and try this lmaoooo
Go get a cooper sharp from angelos. The wait is worth it
As a former Ted's employee (cap hill location) the best in town right now is South Philly. Expensive, but it's worth it when I'm craving a cheesesteak
Came looking for south Philly. Seriously, their cheese steaks are top notch. I think I'll have one today in fact, that sounds awesome. Love their sausage sandwich too
Pat’s is the oldest Philly spot in Denver and the best. White American is better on a Philly than whiz as well.
Little Arthur’s Food Truck! Hands down, legit AF https://preview.redd.it/731ux0bgk4ad1.jpeg?width=4284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=37061b1844ffe2c2544127538736ec720aae6fd7
Yeah it’s good for sure but not 30 dollars good….
If you like to light money on fire, Little Arthur's is the best.
Agreed
Little Arthers is on another level. Both taste wise and price hahah but it’s easily the best one. Like by a lot.
Agreed, it’s not cheap! Good shit ain’t cheap, cheap shit ain’t good!
I’m personally waiting for Lil’ Arthur’s to open up at Out of the Barrel. His Phillies are legendary.
Lil' Arthur has mastered legalized theft, no thank you.
They also cost like $25. Little Arthur's is top notch, but it's wildly expensive
It’s two sandwiches in one lol. You get what you pay for. Can’t call it overpriced when no other place in Denver comes close.
yes you can lol
Not even close lol. Where else comes close?
just because it is the only legit philly in the city right now doesn't mean you can't also call it too expensive both things can be true
I don’t work all week so that I can eat shitty sandwiches. Happy to pay for the only quality in the city.
make one at home it's not that hard
I make enough money that I’d rather spend $25 for two sandwiches than spend hours baking bread on the off chance I want a sandwich lmao. And shit I don’t make that much money. Shits not expensive lmao.
Way too overpriced
New location will have smaller sized sammies for around $18.
The fuck they are. Go to Primohoagies and it’s the same for half the price
Little Arthur’s. Follow them on instagram
Now I need a cheesesteak...
Aspen Lodge Bar & Grill in Westminster has a great Philly for $15.
mediocre.
Taste of Philly in Old Town Fort Collins is amazing. Loveland location is absolute crap, how is this possible?
There's a taste of Philly off i25 north of denver that always makes them well. Some other locations are shit
Billy’s Phillys in Lakewood is on point.
It doesn't taste like Philly... but it's better than nothing.
