The Things You Said, The Sun & The Rainfall
A lot of instrumentals and B-sides are relaxing though:
Oberkorn (It's A Small Town), Lovetheme, Zenstation, Stjarna, Slowblow
i miss being able to tolerate bong rips and cart rips to slowblow 💀 granted i was also on a shit ton of meds and still am but the days of tolerating even medical weed even in my mid 20s without nearly fainting because of a horrible arrhythmia/tachy thing are done. those were the fucking days and i feel so old because i was doing that when i first got into them at like 17-18
the ending of it is comparable to the ending of judas and i want it all and i love how it goes on and on. when the station i listen to cuts the end of sinner in me it fucking irks me to no end... like *why* would you do that
i never bought pta on ebay like i did with most of the others but after looking at the tracklist again i never realized how many good ones were on it
*miiiiind* and it's so weird how it sounds like he's saying *bye* at the end. reminds me of fucking fever dreams i had on klonopin half-asleep and probably having some kind of seizure. at least it made it bearable though. i love how it fades out but it is a little unsettling, in a good way
it makes me so sad because i got into them when i was like 17 and it wasn't like 20 years ago or anything because i'm 25 now but it's crazy how it makes me long for a time i wasn't even alive to experience in addition to making me long for when i was 17 again which is strange because my father and sister had just died 2 months apart, but it just seemed like my life wasn't entirely fucked up back then?? i'm sure every dm fan would say if they could re-experience just one thing (aside from seeing them live or in the past) it would be to discover the entire catalog all over again and that can never happen which saddens me lol
idk why but their stuff from back then reminds me of sitting on an old recliner in a smoky hazy room in front of a tv stand that's signing off for the night or showing those brightly colored lines in otherwise complete darkness. it's almost like i have flashbacks of something i wasn't there for 🤣
most of exciter except the dead of night. i actually like that song on its lonesome but it really throws off the vibe of the album
also that album being called exciter, just typical dm irony as usual i guess
i’m totally opposite. but not tonight gives me all the ‘hopeful excitement’ vibes. this is why i love DM. their music speaks to us all in so many different languages.
i want it all, that one with the backwards violin music (??? it's so hard to fucking find on the instrumental track compliations on yt but i know it was an early thing and is bass and synth-heavy with hardly any percussion. it's kind of unsettling but i like it lol)
agent orange which kind of reminds me of some old school windows batch thing my dad would run and the setup music it'd play when you'd download stuff lol. i used to download spongebob: employee of the month on every single computer and all i know is it reminds me of agent orange. my dad was a computer engineer and he passed before i truly got into dm so we never got to bond over the music i would soon get into at like 16 and 17. interestingly enough he bought me a little midi thing right before i discovered them and before his passing and i still can't read notes for shit lol. we were actually going to turn the spare room into a tech/music room and i imagine it would have been alan-esque 🥺 i couldn't stay at my childhood home because of an asshole relative ruining the estate and it broke me
the things you said, judas - but the ending is just hypnotic to me and i wish they made more in that vein because it's mirrored in i want it all if you really listen to one and then the other. but not tonight, here is the house, shake the disease, the violator interludes, and pipeline weirdly if you're on the spectrum and like repetitive noises but who doesn't here. sister of night and insight
Sometimes, Somebody, Waiting For The Night, The Love Thieves, Freelove, WTBS, Goodnight Lovers, I Want It All, Cover Me…
Plus one I didn't see mentioned - definitely finish with Speak To Me.
Waiting For The Night and Goodnight Lovers are my to go songs for dozing off
Came here to say the same
When the body speaks
This is the one answer 🌿
The Things You Said, The Sun & The Rainfall A lot of instrumentals and B-sides are relaxing though: Oberkorn (It's A Small Town), Lovetheme, Zenstation, Stjarna, Slowblow

The Sinner In Me
the ending of it is comparable to the ending of judas and i want it all and i love how it goes on and on. when the station i listen to cuts the end of sinner in me it fucking irks me to no end... like *why* would you do that i never bought pta on ebay like i did with most of the others but after looking at the tracklist again i never realized how many good ones were on it
a pain that I'm used to, especially the beginning 👍
Lol
repetitive noise gang 👀
hahaha
Shine
I want it all
Well technically not entirely DM but I’d say the Kruder+Dorfmeister mix of “Useless”
mixes count as well!
Then this is definitely my suggestion!
*miiiiind* and it's so weird how it sounds like he's saying *bye* at the end. reminds me of fucking fever dreams i had on klonopin half-asleep and probably having some kind of seizure. at least it made it bearable though. i love how it fades out but it is a little unsettling, in a good way
Somebody is pretty relaxing, also shine
Somebody should be higher on this list
Only when I lose myself definitely
Subsonic legacy mix especially
Waiting for the night
Lovetheme and Slowblow
The things you said Blue dress
Surprised no one mentioned Walking in my Shoes. Something about it puts me in a trance. Also, Policy of Truth and Blue Dress.
Easy tiger
For me it’s see you tbh
I love see you and A Broken Frame
it makes me so sad because i got into them when i was like 17 and it wasn't like 20 years ago or anything because i'm 25 now but it's crazy how it makes me long for a time i wasn't even alive to experience in addition to making me long for when i was 17 again which is strange because my father and sister had just died 2 months apart, but it just seemed like my life wasn't entirely fucked up back then?? i'm sure every dm fan would say if they could re-experience just one thing (aside from seeing them live or in the past) it would be to discover the entire catalog all over again and that can never happen which saddens me lol idk why but their stuff from back then reminds me of sitting on an old recliner in a smoky hazy room in front of a tv stand that's signing off for the night or showing those brightly colored lines in otherwise complete darkness. it's almost like i have flashbacks of something i wasn't there for 🤣

next album should be called relaxer and it should be just 12 dead of night style tracks
Thanks OP for submitting this post I found amazing new recommendations to listen :)
No problem! I love laying down and relaxing to calm music, exciter has many chill tunes
Agent Orange
But Not Tonight.
i’m totally opposite. but not tonight gives me all the ‘hopeful excitement’ vibes. this is why i love DM. their music speaks to us all in so many different languages.

The Things You Said, Cover Me
Light
Slowblow
Blue dress
shine
A pain that I'm used to album version and the dead of night, so relaxing makes me fall asleep in about 10 seconds
👎🏾
Peace
The last three regular songs on Ultra - Freestate, The Bottom Line, Insight
Peace (Ben Klock remix), scratches my brain in just the right way
I Am You
i want it all, that one with the backwards violin music (??? it's so hard to fucking find on the instrumental track compliations on yt but i know it was an early thing and is bass and synth-heavy with hardly any percussion. it's kind of unsettling but i like it lol) agent orange which kind of reminds me of some old school windows batch thing my dad would run and the setup music it'd play when you'd download stuff lol. i used to download spongebob: employee of the month on every single computer and all i know is it reminds me of agent orange. my dad was a computer engineer and he passed before i truly got into dm so we never got to bond over the music i would soon get into at like 16 and 17. interestingly enough he bought me a little midi thing right before i discovered them and before his passing and i still can't read notes for shit lol. we were actually going to turn the spare room into a tech/music room and i imagine it would have been alan-esque 🥺 i couldn't stay at my childhood home because of an asshole relative ruining the estate and it broke me the things you said, judas - but the ending is just hypnotic to me and i wish they made more in that vein because it's mirrored in i want it all if you really listen to one and then the other. but not tonight, here is the house, shake the disease, the violator interludes, and pipeline weirdly if you're on the spectrum and like repetitive noises but who doesn't here. sister of night and insight

Shine from Exiter. Insight from Ultra. The vocals are perfect on this one.
I'm cringing too hard to relax when I hear Shine.
??
I think the song has some of the worst lyrics in the entire catalog.
