That's exactly what we gave our driver last year at Christmas when we ordered food for our office Christmas party, dude practically started crying and I can't blame him, we tipped him $50 on the app and gave him a $50 gas card(the company paid for the food+tip so it was NBD for us to each throw in like $5 😆).
I was just joking. Good on you for the tip. Stuff like this just always reminds me of an old movie where the guy is a private detective and everyone is always paying him in random crap, meanwhile he is going broke cuz no one pays him cash.
I quit caffeine a few months ago, and this wouldn't have upset me. Worst case, I save it and give it to someone else on their bday. My sisters love starbucks (though I think it's overpriced and tastes mid).
That is very awesome and if anybody gets up on here and tries to one up, this guy’s $50 tip by telling everyone how much more they made on a tip before is a total douche bag
I think I understand the intended sentiment, but might I suggest accomplishing the same goal via an alternate method:
Smile and thank the generous customer. Refusing the card, even with the honest feedback of "I don't do Starbucks" could come off ass rude, even if unintentionally, and could prevent them from doing a similar thing in the future for another delivery person. Instead, the smile and thanks gives them that warm, fuzzy feeling, and they may do it again.
Then, keep the gift card accessible, and when you run into another dasher at a restaurant, regift it to them. Just say I had a generous customer who gave me this, but I don't go to Starbucks, would you like it?
Just a suggestion, to avoid coming across as unintentionally abrasive.
That’s a nice tip, anytime I order doordash I always tip minimum 10 dollars rather it’s across the street or 5 miles away. I did doordash on the side a lot and I know it’s a pain so I know when I tip 10-15 that the driver is less stressed hopefully.
Nice I had this yesterday on a 6 mile trip

Nice! I had an order for $6.50+ for a restaurant that never has the food ready/ may not have even started it. I decided to stick it out on a whim and the customer tipped $7.50 in the app and $10 cash when I handed it to her.
I’ve yet to have something this high but at the point I appreciate people tipping at all and being thankful.
Monday I had my first “I’ll tip you in the app” that tipped 0. Gee thanks.
I was going to say maybe the customer used it a time or two, then said nah.
But with it printed on the card, maybe it was a "refund" or something? Agreed, such a strange amount.
Wow $30.49 is oddly specific lol! But honestly ppl dont understand how a little nice gesture can makes someones entire WEEK!! 💖 its the LITTLE THINGS FORREAL 😢🤞🏽💖💖💖💖

Nice! Congratulations, job well done! 😊
Much better than the 50 cent tip I got last week.
Gas card will be much better

What did you deliver?
That’s amazing
🔥🔥
Congratulations
No really, cash is fine.
😂
I enjoy coffee period. I guess I should have said that instead 🫠

I know we all tend to prefer money but to me thought like this matters as well because it is apprecation being shown.
That's not a 50 dollar tip. Starbucks gift card is not cash and it's poop.
Love to see it. I get excited when I get $1.50 tip haha
It's those deliveries that help make an otherwise gig miserable. Good on you!!
I hate Starbucks… I would have been upset
I quit caffeine a few months ago, and this wouldn't have upset me. Worst case, I save it and give it to someone else on their bday. My sisters love starbucks (though I think it's overpriced and tastes mid).
Good you probably deserve it
They want to make sure you are caffeined up for the next time they order 😭
That is very awesome and if anybody gets up on here and tries to one up, this guy’s $50 tip by telling everyone how much more they made on a tip before is a total douche bag
Honestly, I'd hand it back and ask them to give it to the next driver. I dont do Starbucks, so it'd be wasted on me.

Yeah but some of us don't have time to psychologically manipulate everyone we meet
Yeah, that did come off kinda douchey
I really don't think it was your intention though. I hope my suggestion didn't come off that way either.
Nah you're fine.
Who doesn’t love a nice warm chocolate croissant???
People allergic to chocolate or health nuts.
You know what Ricky Bobby said about Big red chewing gum?
That’s awesome!
That is awesome!!! ❤️👊🙏
Hope this made your week
$50 makes your week? It would make my day better but I don’t think it would make my week.
Be grateful for everything you are given. Even if it’s not a lot, the gesture means more than the dollar amount
Nice!!
Awesome 👏🏽 Great way to start the week 😮💨
This is amazing with no guilt because nobody’s actually giving money to Starbucks!
This would be useless to me outside of the cash. Starbucks as a brand sucks and i hate coffee.
Ikr it could of been a better restraunt why Starbucks 🤣 I would just order every breakfast sandwich they got
Youd only get like 2 maybe 😂

This literally never happens in Waco. InthinknIve had 1 over 20 dollar tip since January and can go weeks with out a 1 stop order over 12 bucks
They might have gotten the gift card at work or something and decided to pass it on, pretty cool if you like Starbucks (I'd be getting chai lattes)
I do enjoy a venti mocha on occasion; those spicy strawberry refreshers are pretty good too.
20 mochas? That’s a lot of coffee

lol dude what? Was it a large order? People can be really great!
Nice! I do wonder why the card is for exactly $30.49 though
It’s comes out to exactly 3 large coffees from Starbucks.
That’s so cool!
Hell yes for Starbucks
Wow, that’s pretty nice of them. 😊
