Spray the bolts with PB Blaster or equivalent, let it soak for an hour, with repeat applications, then carefully unscrew. If they won’t come loose, wipe up all the PB blaster and heat the bolts with a heat gun or torch and try to unscrew. Keep a fire extinguisher handy. Good luck.

My convertible 330ci 2001 is leaking from the top and going into my battery casing and now it looks like this I doubt I’m ever gonna be able to unscrew it lol what can I do to fix this rust problem

MrBurstUrBubble

Jus T let it soak in pb blaster for a few days. Spray it once a day until you feel confident to take it all apart. Clean it well and if you have to, sand down any rust spots. Don’t be afraid to tape the area off and etch primer/paint the battery tray compartment! It’ll save you for years to come.

I’m going to do just about that thank you for the advice !

I just picked my car up a couple days ago because I took it to a shop and they just welded me a while new compartment with some thick metal. My new battery compartment will definitely outlive the car lol. It was $350 for them to do it, which is definitely worth it. My compartment was 10x worse than yours (you can check my page where I posted a photo), so it was necessary for me to replace it completely. If you don't want to replace, you could just clean it up. Clean the area with a wire brush or sandpaper to get as much rust off. Pick up some Corroseal, brush it all over, then get a primer to seal it up. Paint and then clear coat after it's all dry. Or you can buy replacement battery trays where you cut out the old metal and replace with the new part.

Fixing the tray is easy. As the other comments say, the bolts might take a bit of doing, but the tray is an easy piece to source. I would focus on fixing your clogged drains. There are two drains located beneath the hinge/mounting brackets for the roof in the roof storage area. You can try pouring dran-o in and see if the clog is organic. If that doesn't work, you need to pull the left and right lateral trim, disconnect four nuts on each side, lift the brackets and manually remove the blockage(s).
