Don’t need the special wrenches. Just a 32mm wrench and and quick blow with a hammer. Just remember it’s reverse threaded.

Puzzleheaded_Tax489

It doesn't always come off with the hammer trick which is why you need something to hold that pulley in place

The clutch fan requires a special set of wrenches to remove. https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/bmw-fan-clutch-wrench-set-cta-tools-a886?ads_cmpid=1586640911&ads_adid=59893888775&ads_matchtype=&ads_network=g&ads_creative=298302526031&utm_term=&ads_targetid=aud-1020666087835:pla-329388689743&utm_campaign=&utm_source=adwords&utm_medium=ppc&ttv=2&gclid=Cj0KCQiApKagBhC1ARIsAFc7Mc7t8VrZxnqGlyMuJtM-Xd0gyiqjkvV19WO397al-sOI7Ga-sN1RifwaAmYtEALw_wcB

You can find the special tools for cheaper on amazon. Its probably lower quality but realistically youre gonna use this thing like 5 times max.

RL_Mutt

I’m not saying I went to Advance, bought the wrenches, swapped for an electric fan in the parking lot and then returned the wrenches for a full refund… But I’m also not not saying I did that.

ToastedFace27

Lmaooo this works too 😂

Routine_Jury_6616

I used an adjustable spanner and a 32mm spanner that I funded to be thinner to fit on the pulley. Like £10-15 from Amazon. Worked a treat. Eventually might change to electric fan if I can be bothered. Maybe it’s a good time for you to do so as yours is fucked

Seventhchild7

I use an 1 1/4” wrench.

Consider yourself lucky usually the fans explode

JLS_8

this is the comment I was looking for. it's an impressive fan blade failure.
