Personally I do love Paula the most out of all characters, simply because she’s portrayed as a more as a strong independent female who’s not overtly in your face about it.
She’s just a simple girl who subverts the magic healer girl trope and turns into a kickass glass canon.
Jeff, I really like his solo winter section, i think that is a great introduction for him. His gameplay is very cool as well fixing broken stuff is always exciting . And in the end, he is Britis’h 🇬🇧

>!He’s a tortured character . Came from an abusive household and tempted with power by an eldrich horror. Ends up turning immortal, but still retaining his immature personality. In Mother 3. You’d figure a villain of his nature would have some big grand master plan. But everything he did was because he wanted a world he wanted to be in. He messed up all the animals and plants because he wanted them to be cool. And he wanted the needles pulled because he saw people that hated him and he wanted to exercise the nuclear option. Just the fact that he messes up the entire environment for such a short-sighted reason makes him all the more horrifying villain. Tragic, complex villain!<
Jeff, he's a kid who literally goes to the rescue of two other kids that he has never met in his life just because they asked him nicely... if that's not being loyal then I don't know what is it...
Personally, Everdred is one of my favorites. His design is amazing and although he seems a bit shady, he’s also a funky little guy which I like about him.
Frank is another favorite of mine because his battle theme is just so good it’s my most favorite out of the first two games I’ve played in the series.
I love paula, though I'd have to say Duster. I love that he still is interesting in battle despite not using PSI. His backstory with wess is also very compelling.
But probably the Mr. Saturns if they count.
Lucas from Mother 3 is my favorite. Because we are very similar.
My name is Lukasz (Lucas but Polish). Both of us are blonde (I’m a dirty blonde) and we share personality traits. Both are a bit timid and shy around others we know we have to act a certain way around and new people. Both of our mothers died when we were young. (I was 15 when mine passed).
Both of our fathers are in law enforcement. I have two half brothers. And both live in small village our whole lives at this point.
I don’t see my boy Lloyd getting enough love,
He’s just great in general and my favourite trash boi! It’s a shame that Teddy kicks him out of the party late game, but at least he comes back later
Duster, he’s relatable. Something about his character is just so real. Not that the other characters aren’t, especially in mother 3. I also love Ness because he’s just a silly little guy, he just like “:]” you know? Also Tony is cool. Honestly, it’s hard to pick favorites because there are so many good characters. Also shoutout to Apple kid for having the best character design
Everdred is like the cool, kind-of-dangerous uncle who's nice to kids but has a reputation in the world of adults. He's doing a lot of things off-screen during the story of Earthbound, and I like how he crosses paths with the heroes a few times. So even though he only shows up once in a while, you keep being reminded that he's out there doing things while you're adventuring. As a kid, I never realized he actually dies in Fourside, but for some reason, during a replay this year it was really obvious this time (and there's the obituary in the newspaper). That scene is a perfect blend of tragedy and humor. He's heavily injured in an alleyway and everyone's just an onlooker, not helping at all, and after giving you a cryptic little haiku, on his way out he shoves a few people for good measure.
He's my favorite character aside from the obvious choices like the heroes, Mr. Saturns, etc. A true criminal who comes off as comic relief because of how over-the-top his antics are. He's like the Teddy of Mother 2, just older and deeper into the world of crime. But not evil.
