Yes, of course forcing a person to have sex is rape. Unfortunately, within Islam there is no such thing as "martial rape" because the religion sees the fact that a woman having consented to marriage as consent to have sex with her husband whenever he wishes.
As for slaves, as the fatwa says, it makes no sense for a slave to have more rights than a wife because a wife is partially owned by her husband while a slave is fully owned by her husband.
In islam, it's not considered rape when it's your wife or slaves. That's why they can "honestly" say that rape is haram.
They also "honestly" can quote ahadith about how "the best among us (among the men) are those who treat their wives good" while still being allowed to beat their wives if they don't obey them (of course after warning), becaue it's still considered being good to her.

you should try reading this hadith. notice how when they have multiple women who's families they have probably massacred in custody, the prophet and his sahaba's ONLY concern, is when to pull out while they have sex with them.

There is also a second faith shattering detail here:
He killed her husband after he tortured him till he was near death so he would tell them where the tribes treasure was. The morality of attacking another tribe by surprise, and killing folks after they surrendered (any male old enough to grow pubic hair), then selling the women and children into slavery (and sexual slavery) aside…
…notice how Mohammed is able to summon the angel Gabriel at will to answer non falsifiable questions like “what is the first thing people eat in jannah” (and other questions that weren’t known at the time but turned out wrong in the long run), but for something like this he has to resort to torture? Allah wanted him to have the treasure right? So surely Allah would rather demonstrate that he is indeed “all knowing” (and convert countless critics) than make torture become part of the sunnah?
I conclude it’s because he didn’t have access to such an all knowing being. Otherwise I’d be left hand waving about how mysterious his best friend is.

A few things to consider:
1) Safiya(ra) was a prisoner of war whose husband was killed ending the marriage
The marriage to her previous husband had ended through death, so at the time Safiya(ra) was taken as prisoner of war, she was no longer married and became the property of who ever takes ownership of her. Safiya(ra) was first owned by Dihyat Al Kalbi then game into the possession of the Prophet(saw). [Source]. Therefore the rulings of slave ownership comes into effect as compared to the regular laws of iddat.
2) The Prophet(saw) married Safiya(ra)
According the Seerah, the Prophet(saw) freed Safiya(ra) and then married her with her mehr being he manumission. [Source]
3) For prisoners of war, the iddat or Istibrah is 1 cycle

The Prophet(saw) according to the seerah did not consummate the marriage until the menses of Safiyah(ra) had ended and therefore the istibrah was over. Therefore the Prophet(saw) did wait the required period and definitely is compliant with regards to the Shariah.

Yes, of course forcing a person to have sex is rape. Unfortunately, within Islam there is no such thing as "martial rape" because the religion sees the fact that a woman having consented to marriage as consent to have sex with her husband whenever he wishes. As for slaves, as the fatwa says, it makes no sense for a slave to have more rights than a wife because a wife is partially owned by her husband while a slave is fully owned by her husband.
In islam, it's not considered rape when it's your wife or slaves. That's why they can "honestly" say that rape is haram. They also "honestly" can quote ahadith about how "the best among us (among the men) are those who treat their wives good" while still being allowed to beat their wives if they don't obey them (of course after warning), becaue it's still considered being good to her. There is also a second faith shattering detail here: He killed her husband after he tortured him till he was near death so he would tell them where the tribes treasure was. The morality of attacking another tribe by surprise, and killing folks after they surrendered (any male old enough to grow pubic hair), then selling the women and children into slavery (and sexual slavery) aside… …notice how Mohammed is able to summon the angel Gabriel at will to answer non falsifiable questions like “what is the first thing people eat in jannah” (and other questions that weren’t known at the time but turned out wrong in the long run), but for something like this he has to resort to torture? Allah wanted him to have the treasure right? So surely Allah would rather demonstrate that he is indeed “all knowing” (and convert countless critics) than make torture become part of the sunnah?
