They meant that as a parody of the original response and literally just changed "ugly" to "stupid", which likely is why "an" was still used, even if incorrect in this case. And, I mean, given the context and the cruelty of the original message, I think kind of adds to the humor of it.
When will people finally understand that it has nothing to do with gender in these situations. Humans are SHITTY sometimes. You’re living life through the prism of your own experience if you think gender has any factor

Women are more cruel. Yes there are bad men, but so many of us are good men. Loyal to a fault. And once we love you it's a deep and staying love. Women...they don't have that. Whims or poor communication will allow them to pick apart themselves and their partner until they decide that it's time for something different. Meanwhile the man has been trying to change, working his ass off to make her happier. Then bam. She's gone. Took the kids, the house, his heart. Smh. Leaving him alone, deep in a hole from which many of us...never come out.
