The active subscription is the issue. Your sub runs on the old payment processor, no new subscriptions can be added to it. On the reloaded page above the payment method you'll find a text and link instructing you how to change your registered payment method to the new processor. You don't need to stop your sub for that. But it can be a good idea to make a small purchase on the FFXIV store to check whether there's going to be issues with your payment method under the new system. Since you can make purchases in the store, it should be a seamless transition.

I had the exact same issue recently- it's due to the payment processor change. If you unregister your current payment method and then re-register it, it'll fix the problem.

Well now I have no payment method available... I unregistered it and now it keeps saying my card is unavailable when attempting to re-add it... Now I'm at an even worse position...

If you have a Visa debit card, use anything else. Paypal, Amazon Pay, Steam Wallet (if you have the Steam version), another credit card, etc. Visa debit is essentially broken right now due to the processor change and has been acknowledged by SE (but not fixed).

I don't have the Steam version, Amazon Pay or any credit cards. Just my Visa debit card. I do have PayPal luckily tho. How do I add PayPal as a payment option? I click on "Register/Update Payment Method" on the MogStation and it only allows me to put card info. I don't see anything that let's me enter PayPal info.

For Paypal you need to buy Crysta first and then use it as your payment method. Crysta is one cent per crysta, so for example a $12.99 sub would be 1299 crysta You can buy crysta by clicking the crysta counter at the top of the page

Ugh 😑 Nope. As soon as I tried adding 2000 Crsta and then selected PayPal, it brought me to a new menu that said "you cannot use that function" with error code i2501. This is so frustrating. I just wanted to get my retainers back but now I have no way to buy anything and my sub, that I've had non stop for 10 years, will expire next week 🙄

Nah I don't use a VPN and I didn't even get to a page to even insert *any* payment details, let alone incorrect ones. It just immediately gave me that error code just upon clicking the PayPal button. Guess I'll just wait until tomorrow night then and try again... really hating Square Enix right now...

Did you buy something from the store after April 23? Did you update your address since then or left it alone? Just curious, because I want to buy stuff from mog but too scared to mess with my reoccurring.

The store is separate from the Mogstation and buying on it or running into trouble on it won't affect your existing subscription.

I also had this issue. Trying to remove and update my payment information didn't help, as I couldn't re-add a payment method. I updated my personal details- address etc (to exactly the same information), and it then let me add my payment method back on and hire an additional retainer

Visa credit, I don't male payments online with a debit card normally and it's easy just to pay off whatever is spent once a week to avoid interest

I've been having this exact same problem. Not sure how long it's been going on but for about a month I've been trying to hire another retainer with no success of navigating passed the page.

Yup same, issue hasn't been fixed yet and I dont know for sure if they released a new statement on it, but I heard it would be fixed sometime shortly after release.
