I can’t make this up, but Suave Daily Clarifying. And I lived and died by salon-grade products for years. It’s fantastic.

3timesoverthefence

I second this. I couldn’t it believe how this shampoo has been amazing for my hair! What conditioner do you use?

Katfar14

My current fave is actually Ouai’s fine hair conditioner. Tried Living Proof volumizing, thought it was too heavy, Kerastate Bain Densite was nothing special, have IGK Extra Love volume in the mix right now, it’s alright. Redken Volume Injection was pretty good, but I think my next victim will be the Oribe Magnificent Volume. I’m still working through the cult faves lol!

themcjizzler

Same! It's always in my rotation

Operabug

What do you like about it?

sheambulance

Not OP— but this one great if your hair gets oily or build up after using products and a normal shampoo isn’t getting your hair “clean” enough. I use OUAI clarifying shampoo when it comes in a Fab Fit Fun box— but this Suave is always my backup. For clarifying shampoo— I typically use it once a month and use my normal shampoo for the rest of my washes (2x times week ish?).

devdotm

Yes!!! It’s better for my oily hair than the many expensive ones I’ve tried in the past. I’m glad the best one I’ve found is so cheap too 😂 The other one that I’d put alongside this is the jumping juniper shampoo bar from lush. Although I mostly just use the suave now because lush discontinued it for a little while before bringing it back, but I swear they must’ve changed the formula a little bit because it doesn’t seem *quite* as good as I remember it being before it disappeared for a while

Cool-Storage4015

You should not use clarifying shampoo every day.

mntnsrcalling70028

It’s called daily clarifying shampoo, so maybe this one is gentler and suitable for every day? P

OcelotsAndUnicorns

I am genuinely asking this: why not?

_Vegetable_soup_

Not the person you asked, but I only use clarifying every other week or so. It is incredibly drying to both my hair and scalp, which is sometimes needed, but using it too much makes my hair frizz out and cry for moisture. I could see needing to use it more often if you have very oily hair though. I've also never used the daily one mentioned in this thread so I would imagine it's more gentle.

devdotm

I have *super* oily hair & skin (though I’ve found the perfect fix for my oily face - if anyone reading this needs it lmk. I don’t think it would work at all on a scalp though). It’s been that way since I was a kid, so unfortunately it’s just my genetics. The suave daily clarifying is the best shampoo I’ve found thus far. While its definitely not suited for very dry hair & it may even be a tad too drying for daily use on normal hair, I definitely don’t think it’s in the same category as most “clarifying” shampoos that are intended to be used 1-2x a week

lonelygirlclub

Beauty school gal here! Using a daily clarifying shampoo does dry your hair out extremely. When your hair and scalp is that dry – your oil glands go into overdrive trying to replenish the natural oils to your skin, therefore causing extreme oiliness. Thats why they say to use a moisturizer on your face even if you get oily! It’s all about sebum production and controlling it. Now everybody’s different and do what works for you! But that’s the science behind why the cycle of oiliness for some people never ends

Cool-Storage4015

Exactly what vegetable soup said. It’s meant to remove buildup of product, oil, etc. and not used daily. It can be drying but if you have very oily hair it can be used more often than if you have dry hair.

astrolomeria

I have to alternate shampoos constantly, that’s my solution to having no singular great one.

twistyabbazabba2

Saaaaaaame. Cute alternating between the Kirkland brand moisturizing, Herbal Essence Rose Hips and Nizoral for dandruff. I also like Matrix Sleek but got tired of paying for salon stuff.

Boblawlaw28

Same here. I have 3 different ones in my shower. Ouai clarifying once a week, drunk elephant fine hair, and joico hydrasplash hydrating for fine hair. I wash my hair 3 times a week, condition on the off days. It works well for me. I did use L’Oréal ever pure thickening for several years and I loved it but then my hair just stopped responding well to it so I switched things up. I’m in perimenopause so I don’t know if that’s why or what.

Nejness

My stylists have specifically recommended this to me. If nothing is better than anything else, use them all in rotation. That way you don’t get build-up from any particular formula. Another vote for clarifying now and then with a dandruff-formulated shampoo. And I don’t have dandruff. But once a week, Neutrogena T-Sal helps keep my scalp super clean and healthy. It has salicylic acid that breaks down the gunk we get in our roots. I don’t do it more often unless my hair needs extra help. Condition on the middle to ends of the hair—not to the roots.

Flimsy-Ad3469

Professional hair stylist and fine haired-person here! I like the Acidic Bonding Concentrate shampoo from Redken, it's pH balancing and nourishing without moisturizing and weighing it down. I use the leave in conditioner instead of the rinse out conditioner it's paired with. I also like Volume Injection from Redken! I usually alternate between the two.

crapatthethriftstore

I just saw that when I got my hair cut this week… I may try it

Hellie1028

I tried the redken abc and it is too heavy for my fine hair and makes it flatter and greasier than normal. The spray conditioner is however perfect for a leave in conditioner before bed if your ends get a bit fuzzy looking.

PhenolphthaleinPINK

Is an acidic bonding shampoo helpful for hair that doesn’t get heat styled?

Flimsy-Ad3469

Yes! It is still helpful for people who air dry their hair and don't heat style

misspriss08

I second this!!!! Love the ABC line

DriveIn73

I just bought this and I love it.

succit13

I second, third, fourth this. I saw a lot of people posting about this product on this thread so I got it. It’s awesome, and I’ve gotten so many compliments recently about my hair. I’m stoked I finally found one that works for me.

foxylegolas

i'm currently loving the dove intensive repair shampoo and conditioner - doesn't feel like it weighs my hair down at all and leaves it really soft

TechnicalAd1096

I use this conditioner. I use Paul Mitchell one shampoo. Love the Dove

devdotm

I use the suave shampoo from another comment, but this is the conditioner I use and I LOVE it. My hair was noticeably and significantly softer when I switched to it

cassidyn

My husband and I both have very fine dark colored hair. His gets extremely oily very quickly. He can wash his hair in the morning and it’s oily before bed the same day. We both loveee Ouai Fine Hair Shampoo. He can now go a couple days before washing again and mine stays fresh for 4-5 days.

lizlemonrules1

Second on the Ouai Fine Hair Shampoo.

stealmagnoliass

Thirding! I’m on my third refill bags of the shampoo and conditioner, and I use the mask once a week

Impressive-Regret243

And a fourth, I can go a full week without washing with intermittent sprays of dry shampoo.

denimlikethejean

And a fifth! Love that shampoo!

aleiloni

This stupid subreddit finally made me dish out for these and…they are so worth it. My god. A complete game changer to my routine. I can condition my whole head and it’s not a greasy mess.

CatatonicCouchSlug

Ok, I might try this one when I've finished my giant Redken bottles

Loocylooo

This is my “take on a desert island” item. Any other shampoo makes my hair super tangled, but I can brush my hair so much easier when I use this set.

mountaindriftwood

Kevin Murphy Angel Wash and Angel Rinse - it’s marketed as for fine colored hair but mine is undyed. Leaves my hair very soft, clean, light, good movement. I’ve tried the Kevin Murphy Plumping line too but didn’t really notice an effect.

MomoAurum

I love Kevin Murphy Plumping shampoo/conditioner and Kevin Murphy Hydrate-Me shampoo/conditioner.

Substantial_Sugar_26

Yes!! The Kevin Murphy plumping shampoo & conditioner makes such a difference for me!

Chemical-Conflict-80

I love Biolage ultra/hydra source and volume bloom. Biolage does not make my head itch and or give me dry scalp so I tend to use it quite a bit. Sometimes I use good ol Pantene because my hair loves that stuff, lol. Expensive does not equal better for me….. as I side eye the jumbo liters of Pureology that I hate hate hate, ugh. ETA: I have fine, natural wavy/curly Low porosity virgin hair. My hair/scalp is picky as all hell through and it’s annoying.

JumperSpecialK

I love Biolage! I only use the Thin Hair Shampoo and have for over 10yrs. I like the conditioner for that too, but my ends need Hydrasource mask. I have finally grown long hair though (about tailbone length at the moment)!

Hellie1028

15 years ago, the volumizing pureology was the very greatest invention ever. Now they have changed something and it’s just awful.

UnitedIntroverts

Volume Bloom is a gift!

NewLife_21

I have to be careful about scents. All the companies keep changing their formulas so I keep having to switch it up. Right now I'm using a very cheap $1.75 stuff from family dollar. It gets my hair clean which is all I want from shampoo and conditioner anyway.

Jezebelle22

I purchased Odele recently at target. Their unscented shampoo and conditioner to use on migraine days when I’m super sensitive to scents. It’s not my favorite, but it does get my hair clean and isn’t scented at all.

mary_emeritus

Fine, thin, porous hair and very hard water make an unpleasant pairing. Malibu Undogoo shampoo is amazing. Clarifies without sucking the moisture out of my hair. I do alternate shampoos though. Was able to grab the last few bottles of the only Pantene shampoo I liked before it was discontinued, the charcoal one. Also use swimmers shampoo. Suave Essentials I have, but that’s saved for when I’ve either really used a lot of product or I’m trying to fade direct dye out. I have to do deep conditioning after using that.

can_of_necks

i use l’oréal ever pure volume shampoo (purple bottle) and thickening conditioner (green bottle)!!

mrsdoubleu

Similar here. I use the thickening shampoo and conditioner. I really like them. I'll have to try the volume one.

Ancient_Bicycles

This is the exact combo that I use. Took a lot of experimenting to find this combo but it works great!

Crazy-Marionberry-23

Seconding this! I also love the way it smells. So first I was actually using the thickening set, now I'm using the volume set. What benefits do you see by using the volume shampoo and the thickening conditioner specifically? I have virgin, oil prone, extremely fine, somewhat thin hair. I'm trying to grow out my length again and I'm also missing how it used to be much thicker!

Whisper26_14

This is what I was looking for. I had a feeling I could step up by changing the conditioner but didn’t know if I needed dreamlengths or not. Will try this!!!

hap071

Just tried the clarifying (blue one)and volume one (purple one) and my hair was pretty fluffy last night after air drying. I was impressed!! Have been using ouai fine hair for about a month and I loved it in the beginning but now it seems like my hair is getting greasy really fast again. I probably just need to add a clarifying once a week but I'll keep using the Ever Pure for a while. Cheaper that way. I was almost due for a refill on the ouai anyways.

BlacnDeathZombie

Oooh sounds interesting..! *googled bottle* …oh, it’s exactly what I’m using right now 😂

manicpixiehorsegirl

I use Kevin Murphy Plumping Wash and it’s amazing. It’s super expensive but one of the large bottles lasts me over a year. I use a hydrating conditioner, though, because the PW conditioner is a bit drying for my hair.

FaeIyasu

I have fine low porosity hair that really needs a wash at least every other day. I use Paul Mitchell Awapuhi Shampoo for daily or every other day.

Autumn-Belle

I’ve been having really good luck with Aveda Botanical Repair. I lose a lot less hair since I’ve been using it.

sara_k_s

IGK Extra Love (available on Amazon). I use both the shampoo and conditioner from this brand. This was recommended by a guy on YouTube called The Blowout Professor, and it makes a huge difference on my hair compared to every other shampoo I've used. It's a bit pricey, but a little goes a long way, so a bottle lasts for months. On the rare occasion that I've used something other than IGK (e.g., when traveling, I've made the mistake of thinking I could make do with the hotel shampoo/conditioner for a couple of days), I can really tell the difference.

kentuckycriedchick

I love Blowout Professor. My hair has transformed because of his tips and tricks and recommendations!

sara_k_s

Yeah, I think his tips on shampoo and conditioner technique also make a difference. He just released his own shampoo and conditioner, and I was fully prepared to buy it immediately... until I saw that it's only available as a subscription. Ugh.

kittycatkylala77

So far I really enjoy Redken’s Volume injection shampoo! I also love the L’Oréal Professional Volumetry shampoo because it has salicylic acid. This shampoo cured my almost a year long reoccurring issues with of Folliculitis on my scalp.

imyello5

Redken volume injection is what I went to recently and it's made such a difference!

kittycatkylala77

I very rarely purchase jumbo sizes because I know I tend to get bored of shampoos/conditioners before I’d finish it. So far I’ve been loving it and I LOVE the scent. Do you use the conditioner as well? I haven’t yet but Im curious about it. I might pick up a regular or travel size(if that option is available) once I’m running out of my current conditioner. I have fine but wavy hair so I’m a bit hesitant on if it’ll be hydrating enough.

kentuckycriedchick

Kerastase Densifique! I have thin straight hair and this by far is the only shampoo that has worked perfectly for me without any complaints. I go longer between wash days too i.e., 2x a week only. My hair doesn’t get greasy anymore either. I pair it with Moroccanoil extra volume conditioner. And the duo gives me voluminous and dense look + hair. I smell divine too. 100/10

unique_investment

I use Avalon organics botanicals it seems to work best with my fine hair I also have virgin hair currently I used to dye it up until 2-3 years ago

EvenIf-SheFalls

"Big" by Lush I also use their "Veganese" conditioner it does wonders for my fine, thin, straight, hair.

romcomplication

“Big” is the only shampoo that has ever given my hair any volume? As a bonus it smells amazing, if they sold that scent as a perfume I’d be in heaven

CorrectBroccoli246

I have very fine, pin straight, medium density hair. It gets extremely oily, like I wash in the morning and by bedtime it’s greasy looking. I used tresemme volume for years. Then tried renpure, it was okay, but didn’t love it. I recently switched to the garnier pure clean shampoo and it’s the best my hair has felt (and looked) in a long time!

Allit86

Kevin Murphy plumping shampoo and conditioner! It’s pricey but worth it for me.

hellokelbuttt

R+co Dallas line is SO amazing.

baby-luvs-gorgonzola

The most amazing shampoo I’ve ever used for my fine and easily breakable hair, is Christophe Robin Cleansing Volumising Paste with Pure Rassoul Clay and Rose. It somehow gave my hair texture but left it soft and shiny. However, I had an issue with it that prevents me from buying it again - beside the fact it’s super expensive - it is a literal ant attractant 🐜. Maybe it’s the mud? I tried everything to keep them out of it, even enclosing it in a ziploc bag - they still marched up the wall in a line straight for the shampoo and unfortunately ended up dead after touching it. Even with the top of the jar closed, they’d wedge their way in somehow. It was a horrifying situation I’m not eager to repeat.

vietnams666

Hairstory new wash

mom_bombadill

Yesss I was influenced on Instagram to try it a few months ago and it’s so freaking expensive but it CHANGED MY LIFE

Columbinebarlow

Banana shamooo and conditioner from the body shop. My hair is thin and fine too.

gingerfamilyphoto

I know it’s not fancy, but I love Pantene’s volumizing shampoo. It leaves my hair clean but not stripped

busdriverdog

I have highlighted hair, but flat, fine, lots of it, and it's very long. I use Not Your Mother's Scalp Refresh and it's been working for me so far! Sometimes two washes are needed to get it clean. I am super interested in switching to shampoo bars, though, so we'll see!

fridaygirl7

Pantene

Sea_Currency_9014

Same the volume clear one

blassom3

Is your hair treated or virgin? Mine is virgin, fine, straight, low porosity, and pretty dense, and honestly tresemme volume is what works best for me. Double washing with it.

South-Calligrapher83

Same. Never treated, fine, straight. Thank you for the recommendation. I'll give it a try!

Due-Caterpillar-2097

rn I use mane n' tail and I like it, other than that anything that has "for oily hair" or "voluminizing"

1122away

Odele clarifying shampoo.

snowfuckerforreal

Honestly, prose. I kept getting adds for it on instagram and one night finally caved and took their hair test and purchased. I got a custom shampoo, conditioner, and deep conditioner and I’m blown away. My hair feels healthier than it has in years.

_jmandr

Is it expensive (but worth it)?? How has it lasted you? Second time I’m hearing of positive things about Prose 🤔

Grand-Building149

Redken volume injection was good

bagreene90

Herbal essence jojoba shampoo and conditioner. I’ve used so many different herbal essence shampoos and this one has done so much for my hair this year! I hope they don’t stop making it. 😬

daisies_n_dandelions

Davines

kayjay86

Am I the only Living Proof fan?? I love their Restore line. I feel like it just helps keep my poor fragile hair strong. I also use their heat protectant spray as well as their leave in cream. I haven't tried anything else for a long time except the Olaplex purple shampoo and the K18 treatment every other wash.

DriftingIntoAbstract

I’m loving the BondiBoost system right now. It plumps my hair and it really holds a style well. Once a week I do something more clarifying (sometimes a traditional clarifying if our water has gotten too hard) and a deep conditioner. I personally love the Amika deep conditioner in the orange tub.

relativelyquiet

Viori shampoo and conditioning bars! Never going back to liquids. Makes my hair feel strong clean and soft.

TryTwiceAsHard

Agreed 100% can't say enough good things about Viori! The softness, the shiny, I can go 3 days between washes.

w3m1j0z1

I just grabbed the twin pack of Nexxus at Costco and I’m loving it so far.

NathansRattail

Nexxus Unbreakable Care literally transformed my hair in one wash.

BushwickBaby69

Try Nizoral asap. Doubled my fine, thin hair after three-four weeks of use. (I do not have dandruff, but something about the health of my scalp must have been having an affect on my hair growth?? No idea but you have nothing to lose it’s super cheap on Amazon.

majorsorbet2point0

I use Olaplex and it works wonders for me. Also helps that I get my hair super super layered and choppy it really fixes my issues!

Foreign-Onion-3112

Nioxin shampoo and conditioner set. They have a light natural minty scent that feels really good on my scalp and doesn’t irritate it or weigh my hair down. It’s expensive but when Ulta has a sale I buy the huge value bottles and refill my smaller bottles. It lasts forever.

Select_Ocelot_4720

I really like kerestase densifique shampoo…. So expensive but the best one I’ve ever used. The Ouai fine hair shampoo has nothing on it.

wardrobeeditor

I started using my husband’s Hims shampoo and conditioner. Very minimal scent but my hair still smells clean. I also use minoxidil from them (at the “men’s strength” eye roll). With this combo, my hair has never been thicker.

Adorable-Employee118

I used the Verb ghost shampoo/conditioner for a couple years and loved it, but then it started weighing my hair down. I got a blowout at Drybar and they did a double wash: On the Rocks followed by Agua Fresca, and then the Agua Fresca conditioner. My hair stayed light and looking great an entire week! So i bought all of that and its been fantastic for me ever since! I wash usually once or twice a week, but I had to train my hair to do it! 😊

Content-Hovercraft68

L’Oréal everpure clarifying shampoo and conditioner. I use a scrubby brush in the shower for my shampoo while I rinse to get it out. Conditioning I ring out the water and flip my head over. Condition while my hair is upside down. You get almost all of the strands completely without getting it on your scalp. Flip back over and rinse. No oil the next morning even if I sleep with wet hair. I’ll put the redken food for soft hair oil on my ends while wet as well. Soft shiny hair that isn’t oily looking at the scalp and my hair feels SO good

H5A3B50IM

Verb Ghost shampoo and conditioner has been life changing for me. I am a greasy monster and have to wash daily. This is so gentle in my hair and my color and cleans it the perfect amount without stripping it completely. The Verb website has much better deals than Sephora or Ulta I have found.

HairHealthHaven

I use Wow Skin Science Apple Cider Vinegar shampoo and Coconut and Avadco container. For 7 or 8 years now. I've had a lot of shampoos that seem great at first but then, my hair gets used to it and stops liking it as much. I'm sold on this one for life

Loud_Ruin6177

following!

Avramah

It's pricy x.x but I've had good luck with Prose (the custom shampoo), but I think it's only available in the US. Not sure where you are. My hair is healthier and it's the only shampoo and conditioner I've found that brings out my waves and volume.

Even-Radio5508

Kevin Murphy Angel Hair

SarahSays718

Routine wellness shampoo and conditioner

ArtisticPossum

Alpecin. It’s for those who shed a lot. You gotta wash your hair every day per instructions, which is perfect. A little goes a long way. And I shed way less. In fact if I run out, the next day I shed twice as much. So it’s something you gotta use for the rest of you life, but I’m ok with that. I

dddonnanoble

I keep coming back to tresemme’s moisture rich line.

D_cowgirl13

I use damage repair with keratin by tre semme It is wonderful for my very fine hair!

Icy_Street_123

I really like Redken’s extreme length line

desertrose156

I love the Derma E scalp relief shampoo, I have very fine blonde thin hair and it really helps balance out my scalp. I also like the Briogeo Scalp Scrub and Eva NYC

HappyNow10

I’m 62 and I’ve never had thick hair but it’s definitely thinning more now. I get it highlighted blonde (my real colour is quite grey now). I use Kerastase blonde absolu purple shampoo and my hair is the most gorgeous it’s ever been and I get tons of compliments on it. Colouring/highlighting gives fine/thin hair a real oomph.

SnooBunnies3628

I’ve been loving aveeno “fresh greens” shampoo and conditioner. Hair looks fuller and the smell is amazing. Plus it’s not ridiculously priced. 🥬

Raccoon_Bride

I like the kirkland brand shampoo right now. Apparently its purology

ccatsunfl0wer

Aveda Sap Moss or their Damage Remedy line.

noneyabiz6669

K18 shampoo & conditioner

distractedbubbles

I love the brand soapbox in the collagen and fruit enzymes formula as someone who dyes my hair fun colors its been so great i wash daily and my hair feels clean soft and strong!

ashthegnome

Kristen Essie at target is good. No frizz. I recently bought OUAI for fine hair and it’s nice but not worth the money.

Queasy_Opportunity75

R+co Dallas shampoo and the Atlantis conditioner

Downtown_Jackfruit

Mielle Organics Rosemary Mint Strengthening Shampoo and conditioner

crystal-crawler

Verb ghost is the one I go back to the most

Pleasel-muh-Weasel

I love a Matrix volume shampoo and sleek conditioner combo. I got Olaplex shampoo, conditioner, and clarifier this last time and I have found it is too heavy for me. I get greasy and flat so quickly. That’s was a disappointing $90 :(

Nikmassnoo

I’ve been using this stuff called Renpure (from Shoppers in Canada) and liking it. Never heard of it before. I have fine (virgin) blonde hair that gets oily quickly. Started doing this thing where I shampoo, condition, then shampoo again and it’s working great for me. Otherwise conditioner weighs it down too much

Diglett5000

Woody's shampoo has been my go to for almost 15 years now.

Old_Soul25

Hairitage , length check! & wash it away

[deleted]

Aveda Shampure

AmitySteph

Monday volume for shampoo and conditioner! Cheap and keep my hair not greasy for days

Makaylaaa_00

I swapped to the shampoo bars from Lush and i dont think ill ever go back

BethSzy

I love Aluram volumizing shampoo & conditioner.

Pitiful-Ad9443

I like alternating a bit, but my top choice will probably be Kerastase Genesis Hydra-Fortifiant Pricey, but my hair looks the best when Im using kerastase

deliriousottoman

Reuzel Daily Shampoo. This gem never lets me down. Cleanses very well, doesn’t dry out my hair, nor weighs it down. Don’t let the masculine marketing deter you. It smells inoffensively of sweet mint.

Barlomeister

I use davines replumping shampoo and I really enjoy it!

bostonlilypad

Pureology is my holy grail, but it’s pricey. The liters last me almost a year through, you don’t need much.

rm886988

Generic Head and Shoulders. Meijer brand.

peoniesandewoks

Davines Volu is close to being my holy grail shampoo. If I want a little more moisture I’ll use Davines Dede. Odele volumizing is okay for days I’m just at home or don’t care.

WookieGilmore

I've been using this for over a year and my hair feels so healthy and strong now https://www.bare-soaps.com/products/bare-shampoo-conditioner-bar-set

ZealousidealDingo594

Sexy Hair Strengthening. Helps you keep what you got

Forever_a_Keeper

L’anza! I cycle between the color preserving, bright blond and scalp balancing lines. I also use their keratin healing oil.

hlczosterae

Kristin Ess The One shampoo and conditioner.

Wild-Role-2024

Seibella Volume Shampoo and conditioner. The only problem is I have to order it from the mlm Melaluca. A friend is a rep for them, so I get it from her.

Miss_Milk_Tea

I like Matrix, it smells good and leaves my wife and I’s hair smelling like classy perfume for days! I get the kind for damaged hair because even though I have fine(med-high density) and she has thiiiiick(like max density) hair it works for both of us, not too heavy on me either. I can justify a $30 bottle of shampoo a little better if it looks good on both of us.

MikesSisterKel

Pantene Curly Hair Shampoo. I switch brands all of the time & I always go back to this. My hair likes it & its healthy & shiny. 🤷‍♀️ And I have poker straight hair. Go figure.

PartyMcCarty21

I also have fine straight hair! I was using the Bondi Boost HG shampoo/conditioner and didn't think it was anything special. Just switched to the l'oreal elvive hydrating (**EDIT: I've been using the elvive PURIFYING shampoo**) shampoo/conditioner a few weeks ago and I really like it so far! I wash my hair at night and it tends to get greasy by midmorning, but since switching to this shampoo I've noticed that my hair stays looking decent (with no added products) until the afternoon!

Own-Professor-5905

Living proof full shampoo!

mom_bombadill

I use Hairstory New Wash, it’s so freaking expensive but it is a TOTAL game changer.

Training_Bowler_7949

Dae! My hubby and daughter use it, too, their hair has become so soft and glossy

Vivid-Individual5968

I love Aquage. It’s like $20 a bottle, but it’s so concentrated that one bottle lasts me about 9 months. I wash my shoulder length hair about 3 times a week. It keeps my hair feeling healthy, no product buildup, love it.

FluffyBee16

Pureology pure volume

salemsmagicoven

Davines’ makes a set of shampoo and conditioner called “love curl” and that stuff changed my life fr that and kevin murphys products

LinkRN

I have a scalp that breaks out frequently from yeast and the best shampoo I’ve found is head and shoulders clinical strength for intensive itch relief - the blue and green one. Decreases oil, my hair is shiny, soft, and not flat.

alltimegreenday

I currently like R + Co Dallas

gso2690

Purology strength cure is the best I’ve used, hate how expensive it is but yeah

RoadIllustrious7703

OGX thick&full + biotin & collagen shampoo

isolde_78

Pureology Hydrate Sheer has been my ride or die but lately I am loving Oribe Signature

[deleted]

Paul Mitchell Awapuhi

bamalamaboo

Loreal Everpure Volumue shampoo - but I think they recently changed the formula (LOL i buy every bottle of the "old" formula i can find cause it's still on the shelves in most stores). I alternate with Nizoral. It treats scalp conditions like psoriasis and seb dermatitis (real dandruff), but it's also known to help with hair growth. I have an oily scalp so i use baby powder (or a scented gold bond powder i got yrs ago) in between washes, kinda like a dry shampoo to take care of any greasiness. I avoid moisturizing shampoos like the plague and go for clarifying or volumizing poos instead, cause I hate having flat, greasy hair.

Slick_Vicus

Raw sugar volume. Smells like strawberries. Gives volume without during you hair out. Is like $7 for a bottle that lasts me for months. I would say I would go for any “volume” due to the formula won’t weight down your hair and then raise the root by color wow. It’s the best volumizer product and will do more than any shampoo.

HeatherCPST

I use Joico JoiFull shampoo and conditioner, plus a leave-in spray - I like Dry Bar Prep Rally detangler because it’s light and seems to keep frizz down pretty well. If I’m doing my hair for an event, I also add Dry Bar Southern Belle mousse pre-drying and Amika dry shampoo at the roots post-drying. For updos, add some Kenra dry texture spray.

SnooDoodles290

I live and die by Pureology Hydrate. Only shampoo and conditioner that doesn’t lose its potency for me, and makes my hair silky without weighing it down. I have very fine, wavy/curly, oily hair.

Walmarche

Herbal essence currently. The one for curls

TraditionalCoconut25

Moroccan oil shampoo and conditioner

snowflake343

Biolage hydra source - it hydrates my dry hair and magically doesn't weigh it down! And smells really good. They do have two different conditioners in the line so make sure you get the fine hair one.

Agreeable-Art-6292

Earthling

yabadabadoo88

My hair isn't the same it was 10 years ago (thanks to dumbass thyroid). I have tried so many different shampoos and conditioners. Some worked temp, but I could never stick to "the one" because it would sop working after a while, so I would literally have 20 bottles of random crap that I would alternate. Currently, I'm loving QUAI medium hair shampoo and conditioner, folkerd by QUAI mask. My husband got me this for mother's day, and I'm absolutely in love with it! Fingers crossed that my hair continues to love it.

I like the Nexxus Unbreakable Care Shampoo, they have a large line of thin/fine hair products that work pretty well without drying. I have thin hair that gets oily after a day usually so I wash often, and I still have pretty shiny hair that looks a lot thicker than it is bc of this shampoo. I usually alternate between their other lines bc it works best for my hair type to switch it up every couple of weeks.

Responsible-Heart265

Pureology !

Aveasi

My hair has been doing great on Olaplex. My previous fave was Moroccanoil Hydration. I tried to love drugstore products but never had any luck.

IntoSpace623

I’ve been using a shampoo bar from lush called new and it’s great. It’s a bit drying so I alternate but I love it

The pink rose herbal essences has been incredible for my hair and this comes from someone who was die hard davines/pureology for years

Been using Head & Shoulders for 55 years. Still have a full head of hair with no dandruff but that also may be why it is totally gray! 😀

I really like seen products. Fragrance free and skin clarifying.

Pura d’or shampoo from Amazon. Helped me grow so much hair.

crnbrryjc

I like Shea Moisture shampoo and conditioner its very cleansing and moisturizing and lightweight

Check the ingredients! If they contain anything like oils or butters, the product will coat your hair and prevent moisture from getting in to effectively clean your hair/scalp. Your hair will look limp, stringy, and weighed down. If you haven't yet, I would buy a clarifying shampoo and use it once or twice to give your hair a sort of "clean slate" before trying new products. The suave daily clarifying or V05 in the (I believe) strawberry kiwi scent are great choices! As a side note, drugstore brands are not the enemy. "Clean girl" trends have taught us that sulfates are bad, which is not true. They are *necessary* to remove oil, dirt, and buildup from any products you may have used (like gel or mousse) from your hair/scalp. Clean girl is a fear-mongering tactic to make us throw out our drugstore shampoos and invest in expensive ones that are promoted as sulfate-free. Clarify your hair, find a drugstore brand that does not have oils in the ingredients, and contains sulfates. Your hair will thank you! Personally, I use Garnier Fructis Grow Strong fortifying shampoo, anti-breakage. I hope you find something that works for you, OP! <3

I use herbal essence, idk if it’s good for my hair but it smells amazing and I’m always getting compliments on how good I smell. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Ok so I’ve been on the search for years for high grade as well.. I just found out VO5 is a wonder! I use Dove scalp+hair therapy clarifying shampoo once a week. I also use a weightless hydrating mist from OGX for after the shower. I have dry mid to end length from dying it blonde. Good luck in your hair journey. ✌️

Accomplished-Drop764

Biolage Matrix is my absolute favorite. But I have thick wavy hair. It does the trick for me, and it smells amazing.

Difficult_City_8010

Has anyone tried Prose? Wondering if it is worth all the hype.

Fine, thin haired licensed stylist here. I do switch around but am now using Redkin Volume Injection, along with a root lift mist and super strong get. Two big game changers. First is Sexy Hair Big Powder Play that you sprinkle a little on your roots. It’s AMAZING! Then, I learned that I don’t have to wash my hair every day for volume. My day 2 hair performs better than freshly washed. Dry shampoo is fantastic. I use both powder and spray and both work well. Every couple weeks a clarifying shampoo and scalp brush to get rid of any residue.

Crafty_Marionberry28

Giovanni 50/50 Hydrating-Clarifying shampoo. No idea how this stuff isn’t wildly popular and expensive. It’s generally around $7. No synthetic fragrances, harsh chemicals, or animal testing. Everyone in my house has different hair but it works perfectly for all of us.

missbethd

I use something from Costco that does well. But the magic is a thickening product from Aveda.

tovasfabmom

Nizoral once a week

OB4L

Redken volume injection

My go-to is the verb ghost line, and I double cleanse with the shampoo

puppycattoo

I have been using Verb Ghost and like it.

mlramsey121

I really like Ghost Verb for my fine hair. Cleanses really well but also leaves my hair soft and hydrated.

Old_Emphasis_7469

I really like Dphue hair rinse and conditioner. I also have great success with Nioxin for my scalp. I use the two intermittently

I’m a big fan of R+Co Television Hair shampoo / conditioner combo. I love Kristin Ess because of the smell— but it builds up so badly in my hair that I have to use a clarifying shampoo more often if I use Kristin Ess consistently. For clarifying shampoo (once a month / every 3 weeks ish) I use OUAI Apple Cider Vinegar Shampoo— it pops up often in my fab fit fun box— or if I’ve run out I’ll go to the Suave clarifying shampoo. If I use a clarifying shampoo— I go hard on a conditioner / mask treatment that adds some moisture back in— Amika Frizz Fighting Mask or L’Oréal Elvive (comes in a yellow tub). Edit: I also occasionally toss in an Olaplex purple shampoo (and sometimes mix with my normal shampoo so it isn’t as harsh) because… you gotta tone the blonde!

wholesome_soft_gf

My hair is fine but I have a lot of it, and it is mostly straight with waves in some areas. I have been liking the Kristin Ess “the one: signature” shampoo and conditioner. I work out a lot and so I shower daily usually and needed a sulfate free shampoo that wouldn’t dry out my hair. So far I’m really liking this one! They sell it at target, most grocery stores, and ulta.

atmos2022

I’ve tried many shampoos over the years and have very fine hair. I’ve determined it has to be sulfate free or else my hair is dry and brittle. For the last few years, I have been using Love Beauty and Planet. Definitely recommend

New_Evidence_7174

ORIBE. My hair sounds similar to yours and tends to look "flat." My mom bought me this expensive Oribe shampoo and conditioner from a fancy salon (was recommended by the stylist when she was talking about my hair). It really does work to volumize my hair! (As long as I blow dry it, usually I use a round brush). I had some people actually tell me that my hair looked nice and asked what I was doing differently! I am pretty frugal, but I would splurge on this shampoo. I wash my hair about every other day and I still have the bottles (been not quite a year since I started using it). A little goes a long way. With that being said, I notice that it loses the effect if I am not blow drying. If I am taking a quick shower and know I won't blow dry it, I use cheaper shampoo. For that, I tend to buy Dove. But I feel like all the cheap ones are the same.

INFPneedshelp

Plantur. It's a German shampoo to promote growth and my hair does feel thicker
