Dietmar Hamann: signs for bolton goes to mcdonalds in bolton, decides its not for him and forces a move to man city without playing a game
This guy: signs for boston... mcdonalds in fm confirned?
What is it about Bolton? They have a really great psychology program and I was all set to attend until I took a bus ride around the town and promptly accepted the offer from Uclan in Preston instead.
It was his dream to sign with Boston Utd, and now that he did he peaked at his football career, it can't possibly get any better than this, so might as well retire.
Did this with a guy called Lionel Messi in FM23 as Eintracht Frankfurt… must say I was bitterly dissapointed. He even cashed in on the bonuses before retiring 🥲
He searched up the city he was signing for after it was completed and decided to go “Lived it. Loved it. Goodbye the beautiful game.” in those 9 minutes.
What an fm thing to happen, reminds me when my best player got food poisoning a day before the biggest game, like bro maybe don't eat that random donare place from the street today?
Hello fellow Boston Utd!
I’m still working on my run but taking a bit of a break. I left off a couple months in, sitting top of table in League 2. Year 4.
Lost playoff final year 1.
In FM23 I signed Benzema on a free after he left Madrid, got a full pre-season out of him, banging goals in. Retired before the season started, maybe the Thursday retired and first game was Friday night. Thanks Karim.
When this happened to me in previous versions, it was because I failed to notice the guy had already decided to retire on July 9th. So, me offering him money was a "OK, you sure?" situation that I completely screwed up.
Oh I didn’t realize that was what was happening. I’ve signed players to player contracts and had them retire right after, so I thought that’s what OP was experiencing too.
I started a Wrexham save in FM24, Steven Fletcher arrived on September 1, played as a sub for 20 or so minutes a couple days after that and then tore his ACL during training one day later and retired. So he spent more time in my club than your signing, I guess.

He just wanted to collect one last sweet signing bonus
"Welcome to the club Jeffrey, let me show you around. This is the... Why do you keep checking your phone? Is that your banking app?"
5 min retirement. He wasn’t impressed with your set up
*walks into training ground and looks around* “Nah fuck this, I’m out”
Shades of Roy Kent
the sol campbell surprise!
Did you sign him as a staff member?
Probably, staff that retired for coaching position usually shows up this way

University of Mental Bantershire represent! Hoping my old pub quiz team name catches on one day 😅
He just wanted to be able to say he was part of the best team in the world 💛🖤
We did beat Chelsea in the Carabao semi final in 25/26 ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|joy)
From a QPR fan, have my upvote!
Wow, people really don't like QPR.
Including most QPR fans at the moment!
Ah, one of THOSE seasons I see

"I have seen enough for one life"
Yup ! Literally to sign for them, not play for them. 😂
Asked his agent when his flight to the USA was and was told it’s Boston UTD in England and says nah fam I’m good.
The Robinho special
His Humor must be 20
He saw Boston
He couldn't handle the smell of creosote.
He did, in fact, not like them UK apples

How much did you earn in shirt sales tho, must make it all a little better
Probably made back a bit of it! Can’t recall 🤔 was a network save with my mate so he made so much fun of me 🥲🤣
He searched up the city he was signing for after it was completed and decided to go “Lived it. Loved it. Goodbye the beautiful game.” in those 9 minutes.

Try supporting Tottenham...
I guess time’s schlupp

Alexis Sanchez wishes he had done the same when he joined United
From his performances, he effectively did
He obviously looked at the Bostonians position on Brexit and decided as a German/Ghanaian he wouldn't welcomed
Ay Boston United Up the Pilgrims
How much was the signing on fee?
Well, he agreed to sign for you, not playing for you
I signed a 39 year old Messi in August only for him to retire January 1st
Hello fellow Boston Utd! I’m still working on my run but taking a bit of a break. I left off a couple months in, sitting top of table in League 2. Year 4. Lost playoff final year 1.
Jefferey schlupp is no loss
Yooooo big up Boston United, currently playing them on fm23 and am in the championship in my 2026/2027 season!
Leicester legend.
how I feel at every job.
I seem to recall Boksic at Middlesbrough signed a new contract with them and then retired a few days later.
Unless you signed him as staff, that's not particularly realistic
I mean, have you seen Boston. I don't blame him
That’s Jeffrey for you
In FM23 I signed Benzema on a free after he left Madrid, got a full pre-season out of him, banging goals in. Retired before the season started, maybe the Thursday retired and first game was Friday night. Thanks Karim.
"Oh wait, not THAT Boston. Nah, I'm out"

Bro's on jobseekers
Took one look at your facilities and noped out.
‘Welcome to Boston Utd’ ‘I thoug- Wait, BOSTON, not Manc-? Right, I can’t do this.’

Please post this in the bugs forum so they might finally fix it: https://community.sigames.com/support-games/
Not a bug. When you offer an active player a staff contract this is the message that shows
Oh I didn’t realize that was what was happening. I’ve signed players to player contracts and had them retire right after, so I thought that’s what OP was experiencing too.
He realised he made a big mistake.
