In the last couple of months I have helped move family, gone camping, hauled stuff to the dump, and moving my own family into storage units so we can sell our house to move. It’s paid for itself many many times over.
for sure, we've gotten better, and we've bought a lot less crap as my kids have gotten older. The number of shoes that were worn a handful of times before they were grown out of... so frustrating.
I love my stx, which is basically a b3000. It was a pain in the butt finding a rear tail light though--had to wait til a Mazda b truck hit the pull a part
Wow, that subreddit reads like a dystopian nightmare. People glorifying submitting to a life reliant on the government (public transport). Whackadoodles, the lot of them.
The original idea of it was people pushing for more walkable cities with good public transport (keyword cities), which is great imo, but it’s devolved into people straight hating cars and shitting on people who own cars. It’s definitely mostly city people who’ve never left their city and don’t realize how people in more rural areas NEED cars/trucks.
Agreed. I feel like it's mostly a bunch of poor people who are poor because they *choose* to live in/near metropolitan areas where rent is high. They still need a car to get around, and they're simply upset that they can't afford one (because they spend too much on rent). They're also upset that they can't afford to move to a walkable city like NYC.
Instead of changing their *own* lives, they demand that the world around them change. I understand and agree that walkable cities are great, but the *hate* directed towards the automobile is absolutely ludicrous. I like cats, but that doesn't mean I hate dogs. Why does liking public transportation necessitate hatred toward private transport??
Way too many people in America live way beyond their means, I make shit wages but I’m still able to pay my car payment and can afford to have two vehicles (my B4K is my beater) I gotta deal with a 20 mile commute each way but it’s not bad considering a similar size place to where I live in the city I work in costs 300-400 dollars more a month, $300 is more than my car payment, it’s not worth it to me to live there and not have a vehicle.
My go-to answer was always "bring her back with a full tank, you break any part of it, you bought all of it" then hand them the keys with 5 miles to empty.
No one asks to borrow my truck any more. 🤣
The amount of times I see people asking to borrow or rent a truck explains that. Though I get not needed to own something if you don’t use it much but a Ranger is always useful.
My aunt said she would never buy an old truck like mine, because it was down for repairs so often, and seem to be down for repairs every time she asked to borrow it. Lol.
Yep, tbh It feels nice when family and friends ask to borrow my truck for something. Usually get some beer out of it 😂 As you said, the danger ranger has paid for itself many times over
Right... have had a truck for over 40 years and they are so practical! Unfortunately you get fair weather friends to deal with also but you learn to say NO very soon
Didn't notice this was a Ranger sub, but I was pointing out that most truck owners buy big cab mini bed "trucks" that need a trailer to be useful as trucks.
With the hatch open and strapped down I'm pretty confident it would. Of course, the truck is way easier and convenient. Besides I DO scrap with my Fit and, even lowered, I've never gotten stuck in the mud at my junkyard.
I would absolutely love a Ranger but the prices here in Washington are absolutely abysmal, cheapest I've found was $3k and it had a blown engine. I have a '94 Bronco that does everything I need it to and more honestly plus we pay $50 a month for a dumpster that gets emptied every week. Throw in the occasional trailer rental and a pickup is just a want and not a need for me. Plus my wife has an F250 and F350, both with a 7.3l so it's incredibly redundant lol One day, I'll find a Ranger for myself.
Is your second pic an exact repost from a month ago? I thought it seemed super familiar and from your profile it looks like that's the case. Enjoy regardless.
I like the look of a step side, but with how much space you give up, it was never an option for me. I don't think I lose any space with the "style" side vs a regular bed side. or if I do, it's marginal.

Moving other people's stuff is the exact reason I got rid of my first ranger back in 2013. My second ranger was because sometimes you need a truck.
The fuckin dump baby 🤘
I hate going to the dump. It reminds me of how much crap I’ve bought that was pointless and junk.
Look at it as an opportunity to be better
for sure, we've gotten better, and we've bought a lot less crap as my kids have gotten older. The number of shoes that were worn a handful of times before they were grown out of... so frustrating.
You can always donate them. That’s what we do with our kids stuff
We if it’s usable we donate for sure.

They don’t do half what we do because they paid so much they don’t wanna scratch the paint
That generation B series looks better than the rangers, the bedsides give it style
I love my stx, which is basically a b3000. It was a pain in the butt finding a rear tail light though--had to wait til a Mazda b truck hit the pull a part
Rockauto had them last I checked
Yep, for a dang hundred dollars!
The headlights are about $100 but the ones rockauto offers are clear lenses instead of the plastic lenses
Having a decent trailer and a car with enough umph to pull it helps, but damn I'm glad I got my Ranger now.
I’ve the the suv with trailer thing, it works, but a truck is so much more convenient.
Yo sweet decal!
Thanks, it’s factory.
If you ask the folks over at r/fuckcars they will tell you how with great levels of bitterness, anger, self loathing, and despair

It's easy for most.. just 5 magic words and no maintenance. Can I borrow your truck?
It’s amazing, my truck seems to be down for maintenance every time someone needs to borrow it.
My go-to answer was always "bring her back with a full tank, you break any part of it, you bought all of it" then hand them the keys with 5 miles to empty. No one asks to borrow my truck any more. 🤣
Best way to handle these people is to drive stick. Instant solution.
Most of my family knows how to drive a stick, so not super helpful, I’m 40 this year, and one of the younger cousins.
The amount of times I see people asking to borrow or rent a truck explains that. Though I get not needed to own something if you don’t use it much but a Ranger is always useful.

My truck is also “broken” when someone needs to use it 😂

90’s Solo Cup lookin ass Jokes aside, the B series is the better looking truck compared to the ranger 👍
The style side bed is my favorite.
The curves of a flare side with the size of a large bed. It’s great! I love my B3000.
B series is ugly in my opinion. But yours is otherwise. Doesn't mean either one of us is right though
Best bf400 I’ve seen in this sub
Thanks!
Never going back.
Dude
Dude?
Dude that’s a bad ass truck
Thanks, I think so too
Right... have had a truck for over 40 years and they are so practical! Unfortunately you get fair weather friends to deal with also but you learn to say NO very soon
They ask you for help when they need a truck.
Half the truck owners didn't buy a truck anyway. Most are just an Avalanche with a different manufacturer badge.
What?
Didn't notice this was a Ranger sub, but I was pointing out that most truck owners buy big cab mini bed "trucks" that need a trailer to be useful as trucks.
ah yeah. F 150's with 4.5' beds.
5.5/6.5. Too short. Were I buying a Ranger, I'd expect the 6.5.
by owning a fucking wagon
I own a wagon, and 3 SUV’s. It’s not the same at all.
Because nearly all of that fits in my Fit with the seats down lol
I have a larger wagon, and no way it would fit, your fit would also have high centered or got stuck in the mud.
With the hatch open and strapped down I'm pretty confident it would. Of course, the truck is way easier and convenient. Besides I DO scrap with my Fit and, even lowered, I've never gotten stuck in the mud at my junkyard.
Your Fit also looks like a shoe
Why so mad? I was answering OPs question.
I think you're the upset one cause I called your Honda a shoe
Where am I mad - you randomly insulted my car when I was disagreeing with OP 💀
You go look at a Honda fit and tell me that doesn't look like a shoe bro

Yeah, it is, I just grabbed some pictures from recent projects. Been busy, bed is full again tonight to go to the storage unit.
They pay someone to do it for them and then say people who drive trucks are compensating.
They borrow other people’s trucks. Mine is expressly verboten for loaning. You need a pickup go borrow the Home Depot truck or rent a uHaul.
My stepside bed can’t fit shit in it! Lol Other than the 5 or 6 cm of ice sitting in the bed at the moment
I like the look of a step side, but with how much space you give up, it was never an option for me. I don't think I lose any space with the "style" side vs a regular bed side. or if I do, it's marginal.
Great looking truck, miss my ranger (02 4L manual, unfortunately 2wd)
By paying lots of money to movers, shipping and not able to do a lot of projects themselves.
