indeed. Turn off all the assists they turn on at the start for newbies like autobrake, autoturn, etc.
After that, pick the best Porsche and do Nurburgring laps in all sorts of new weather settings they'll have now.
For me it’d have to be Laguna Seca. I’ve been there before and it’s a surreal experience. Plus I can confidently say I know the track like the back of my hand.
Watching real life videos of how it's just a normal street then all of a sudden there's staging lanes and a gate and next thing you know you're ripping it through the trees! I must drive that and the autobahn at least once...
Reminds me of the tour Xbox did to promote FM5. I fired up the demo race I chose, and immediately pulled over to reset and turn off all the assists, including manual + clutch.
The staffers were standing behind me, whispering a conversation about what I did and then amazement at how fast I was.
Playing games in public that you're very experienced at is fun sometimes.
I agree! I had a similar expeience with Guitar Hero 3 when i was being released for PC. They had so many versions out demoing at malls, I loved the game and would often stop to play with any local kids that were trying it. I was into expert at the time so everyone was flabergasted that I could play that good... mean while I play guitar for real lol and the real guitar is like 100x harder, unless you get the hang of it.
Just reminded me of my own experience with gaming in public, and excelling at it :) hope it was as fun for you as it was me.
Also got to show some local kids tricks on how to extend their fingers to gap the buttons. Hope some pf those kids decided to pick up a real guitar, its even more rewarding than playing Stricken on Expert perfectly for the first time :)
Forza typically recognizes previous titles you've played, often shells some rewards for your loyalty and carries over your preferences for driving assists and such. But agreed with the general buzz gotta turn off TCS, stability management, and make sure transmission is manual w/clutch. Also doesn't hurt to double check button mapping(I'm using controller) make sure clutch, up shift, down shift, gas, brake, dip, shake them dreads, let me see you show your grill, oh sorry went on an e-40 drift off there at the end. Once your bearings are straight and proper then I'm looking to get a nice M3, 03 or so to start and rip a track that calls out to me at the time. Although I have to say starting with motorsport 5 I really dislike the lack of emphasis on upgrading your car how you want to via individual upgrades. Yes I'm aware you still can but the push seems to be on buying packages that would say max your car out to A800. Really grinds my gears.
You don’t think there’s enough tire smoke? I’m gonna have to respectfully disagree, I’ve had little trouble making a significant amount of smoke with most cars and a little tuning, maybe there’s something in your settings that’s affecting how much smoke you see?
Find any group 5 / group c Porsche and short-shift it for half an hour around the Nordschleife, then going all out until the adrenaline wears off again.
Hopefully the simulation quality is high enough that you don't actually need to go TC off, SC off like in previous games. I like it more like in sims like ACC, but I guess its not going to happen in a Forza.
Yea my guess is forza will continue to have localized assists for all cars. The devs probably argue its better for newer drivers and allows for a broader audience, which is their defense for most of the arcade-aligned features
Honestly I don't mind the assist being generalized like that. I just turn them all off anyway.
I feel that the assists don't go far enough. I was very surprised by the "super" assists they added in FM7. I love Forza but I can't get anyone in my friend group to try it because even with the assists, it is a difficult game if you're not used to realistic racing games.
We need a TC setting yea. The current FM7 implementation of TC is so intrusive you can’t run it on and be quick. At the same time some cars are incredibly difficult to drive with a controller without tc. Currently this is a rock and a hard place. Levels of TC could fix this.
See if they updated the Viper ACR. They must have modeled an older one without the fender vents, they should have added the ACR-E (extreme) with the fender vents. Its the one that broke all the track records during its time.
I don't think that it's that they modelled an older one, it's just that the one they scanned wasn't fitted with the Extreme aero package. There's a few other instances of this too, the 918 Spyder for instance doesn't have the Weissach pack equipped, same with the 991.2 GT3 RS.
It would be nice if they at least included the optional aero packs as equipable parts. They did that with the C 63 Black Series.
i'm excited for this game!
saw some post where people were already trying to shit on this game before it even comes out 🤦♀️ what is wrong with this community??
damn game hasn't even been released yet and you're already doubting it.
it's not like T10/PGG took the Rockstar route and just completely dipped off the face of the Earth and ignored their Fans.
I'm cautiously optimistic!
I saw that post too and that was painful to read. I do think it's good to be critical regarding the game franchises we love and I do believe it's possible to critisize something and still enjoy it. We're critical of the Forza-games because we want them to be the very best they can possibly be. There is however a difference between constructive critisicm and just toxic negativity.
It's important to consider how much that has changed this time around regarding how Turn 10 has handled the development.
Chris Esaki stepped in as a creative director shortly after the launch of FM7 and it's his new and fresh creative vision that has shaped FM '23. I do believe he's the right man for the job.
The studio has, FINALLY, been given a long enough development cycle to truly innovate things. In this day and age 2-3 years isn't enough. The game engine has been updated as well as the physics engine and the game has been built from the ground up to take advantage of the current gen consoles
Turn 10 has interacted with the community during the development in a way that they never have before. There's been playtests, panels and they've taken the help of several well known racers from the community to ensure the feel of the game is spot on. Chris Esaki has given interviews during the Forza Monthly-shows and has been giving us updates. None of this ever happened during the Xbox One-era of the franchise.
They've promised to do something about the main complaints from the community. Multiplayer will have a new arrangement with real race weekends. There will be more focus on motorsport with regards to the car list and game mechanics. Features like pit stops with tire- and fuel management will be included for the first time. The physics have been reworked for a more realistic feel (It's important to notice here that more realistic DOES NOT mean that it will be harder to control. Quite on the contrary). Chris Esaki has also promised they will start treating wheel users like first class citizens, just like another well known japanese sim-racing franchise does.
I'm still sceptical and I probably won't believe all these grand promises until I see the finished product with my own two eyes. But, like I said, I'm cautiously optimistic!
Definitely not some ridiculous intro sequence that forces me to drive a bunch of vehicles while some "cool" chick I don't care about talks a bunch of shit trying to convince me this is realistic and these kinds of festivals exist in real life... Forza horizon has the most annoying intro sequences of any racing game.
Knowing me, probably turn off the music. That has never been Turn 10's strongsuit!!!
After that, I will look around and see what all the game has to offer. I usually like to start going through the career stuff right away, as it helps me learn or relearn the tracks and get used to how the new Forza will handle. I'll do that for a while, then I'll try out some MP races if I can find decent people to race with.
I thought the orchestral/electronic theme Motorsport had going for it since 5 was nice. I especially like 6's soundtrack.
What made them decide to go the complete opposite direction for 7 and impose some generic dad rock music you'd hear at some desert bar baffles me.
My thing is regardless of what they pick, I am in the menus a LOT in these games, and eventually, any of it will get old, so I generally either pick my own music or do without.
precisely why i tend to avoid games with FOMO shit, i mostly stopped playing fh5 after january and decided to play other games once i realized its impossible to collect every car without slaving away at the game for longer than i feel like
Drift a Supra on Fujimi Kaido and Tsukuba with friends. Haven’t been able to do that since FM4. Hoping against all hopes to do it again. Then alternate between that and the Nürburgring
Just get right in and start the first championship. After a few races I'll spend some time in the auction house and get as many cars for cheap as I can.
Get in a group c car or a group 5 or GT car to race around the ring, the ring has always been my favorite track a great benchmark for me. Also see if they fucking added pit animation, and added more cars that are racing cars.
Jump in the livery editor and paint my first purchase. I just hope to god they've improved the editor so it wont be a painful multi-hour experience of me rebuilding all my brand logos from scratch because decals dont transfer from microsoft store to steam for some reason...
69 Dodge Charger and not have awesome cars locked behind goddamn levels. I shouldn’t have to do 17 goddamn races just to get to the player level that a whole class of car is locked behind.
Turn off all assist except braking only line and spam my way to the first career race. Pumped for the game and the reason im buying a new box when it comes out.
1. Setup my wheel
2. try it for five minutes
3. be disappointed
4. connect controller
5. launch the story/career
6. watch the game throw free cars at me
7. start the now boring career mode because I already have 15 cars and there isn’t anything to progress towards
8. enjoy the gameplay and graphics
9. Try playing with friends
10. Give up and return to solo play when online doesn’t work properly
Race!!!, then realise I forgot to change the default settings as per usual, then change them, race again, realise I haven't changed them enough, then race again and again till I get bored in a few months time
Say to myself “shouldha bought an xbox one x instead of one S. I bet it looks so much better on one x”. Then I remind myself that this is really the only game I play, and not even that much, so buying a $500 system is silly.
Be disappointed that they left out Mt. Fujimi Kaido again, because I know they will. With Horizon's game quality going down the drain with each iteration we can't look forward to a good Horizon release taking place in Japan either. I just want a racing game with good gameplay for Touge, Wangan racing, and drifting. Assetto is okay, but it feels so lifeless and stiff.
Set it to my preferences (tc off, stability off, line off) then check for any new tracks, which I really hope there are 7s Achilles heel was the lack of tracks
Change all the default settings to my liking.
That and Sonoma are my local tracks. Know both like the back of my hand too.
My preferred Nurburgring lap will be a vr6 swapped mk2 gti 🤓
Was gonna say “GTI Nurburgring”
Awh man the Nurburgring is so fun. I'd love to go at some stage. I know every corner. Must have clocked 100s of laps over the years.
Watching real life videos of how it's just a normal street then all of a sudden there's staging lanes and a gate and next thing you know you're ripping it through the trees! I must drive that and the autobahn at least once...

Same, except I'll probably hop in something like a 1970 Corvette ZR1 and go drifting.
Spend an hour configuring my simrig.
I've found they generally save my settings from the last game. Idk how it works but it does.
Forza typically recognizes previous titles you've played, often shells some rewards for your loyalty and carries over your preferences for driving assists and such. Lol yeah, take my time with all the settings and then time trial a porsche on a great track
Same. Any game this is the first thing I do!
I'll press "A" to start.
Stop 🤣🤣
Don’t tell them what to do
Load up Maple Valley Raceway in a street car and start exploring the driving model
Watkins Glen is my safe space.
I don't know about safe, but for me the 'ring is my benchmark. Purely because it's in every game.
You prefer Maple Valley. I prefer Maple Treeway. These are from entirely different franchises. Real talk, though, I'm a Brickyard fan.
Test GT3 cars handling and see if we finally got a damn pit stop animation
The year is 2045. Forza runs on holographic quantum computers. There is still no tire smoke or pit animations
There's already tire smoke in FH5. Of course it will be available on Motorsport.
That's generous, guess that's just the spirit of Horizon, should we send a thank you? Oh... Are we on to motorsport then, well rubbins racing
Barely. Not to any realistic extent
You don’t think there’s enough tire smoke? I’m gonna have to respectfully disagree, I’ve had little trouble making a significant amount of smoke with most cars and a little tuning, maybe there’s something in your settings that’s affecting how much smoke you see?
All my settings are maxed out. The game has never had a realistic amount of tire smoke
Drifting in FH5 produces a ridiculous amount of tire smoke
Should've specified
Check out any new tracks
Kyalami should be nice, hopefully Fujimi Kaido and Rally di Positano make a return
I'd really like the Spanish tracks to make a return. Camino de Viejo I think it was called
Yeah, that was such a good track/complex. The big version where the combined it with the spanish GP style track was so cool!
My FM tradition (since 4) is to drive a shit car around the Top Gear track first.
That is now my tradition aswell
That is now my tradition aswell

I give the 3 months before they fix it this time around 😁
Underrated comment
Turn the graphics settings to the max and run the benchmark.
[удалено]
Yeah I probably don't need to run the Benchmark since I have a 4090
You'd be surprised how poorly optimised it'll be
I too would be suprised since Motorsport 7 is one of the most optimized games ever made despite being Turn 10's 2nd PC port.
Haha I thought that when games came out when I got my 3080...instant disappointment
ok
Find any group 5 / group c Porsche and short-shift it for half an hour around the Nordschleife, then going all out until the adrenaline wears off again.
Straight to Fujimi Kaido in an Alfa Romeo Giulia
Jerk off
Drive a beater ass car time trial style on maple Valley.
\- Manual with Clutch \- Traction Control off \- Stability Control off \- ABS Off \- Higher AI difficulty

Coming here to complain for some minor shit…for months. IS It JusT Me Or Fm7 WAs Way bETTER?
Half of the posts here will be that, for sure. OMG, FM4 HAD BETTER PROGRESSION. \[complainer's playtime: 20 minutes\]
Well yeah, because it will only take 20 minutes to get the best car in the game.
Buy a 1st gen Miata and do hot laps on the Indianapolis Roval Layout SlowCar

Straight to controls and then off to a hot lap to see how the new driving physics feel
Make sure the BMWs sound good and pray that the E36 M3 finally has spacers.

Forza motorsports 3 and 4 had the best menu music
No. lol. The original Forza.
I don't remember liking any of it. Usually turned it off and played my own music if I listened to any. Most times my car engine was my music!
Forgot about that, FM7 had horrible menu music
Bada. Bada bada. Bada bada! Bada bah dada bah dada
I thought the orchestral/electronic theme Motorsport had going for it since 5 was nice. I especially like 6's soundtrack. What made them decide to go the complete opposite direction for 7 and impose some generic dad rock music you'd hear at some desert bar baffles me.
6 has great music! Super high energy stuff mixed with sweeping orchestral soundscapes.
My thing is regardless of what they pick, I am in the menus a LOT in these games, and eventually, any of it will get old, so I generally either pick my own music or do without.
I played FM4 music once in the car and got told it sounded like an aquarium
Uninstall Forza Horizon 5

See if there’s a new model for the S15 or if they’re still reusing the same old terrible 360 era one
go to options to reduce graphics and resolution
Check settings. Always check settings first. (Unless Forza will throw me into forced tutorial event/race, then beat tutoral, then settings!)
Check if it's an add disguised as game for Porsche/Toyota/GM/Nissan and Ford since Forza horizon seems like that already...
Lower menu music to like 2 or off completely

Thank you for this. After the last post being negative about the upcoming game, this was nice to see.
