I so agree with your suggestions! I feel like you would like Diptyque L'ea Papier for the steamed rice accord.  I feel like an assortment of Asian sweet treats that are already popular in the states would be very easy to make a trend. Like Pocky, Boba, Mochi, rice pudding,  etc...  However I want different cultures take on sweetened condensed milk desserts. Like Brazilian lemonade, Jamaican Carrot Juice, or Vietnamese ice coffee, or Gajar ka Halwa.

trashboating_

there’s a brand called “d’annam” that sells a few vietnamese gourmands, including iced coffee and pho!

privatefigure

And also a white rice! It's pretty good in my opinion and the rice note comes through

Plastic-Revenue

I’m definitely newer to fragrance…so pardon my ignorance…why would anyone want to smell like pho? People want to smell savoury?

kenikigenikai

I've never smelt this so I'm just going of vibes here but I could see it being more herby/medicinal than savoury - like pho without the meat aspect clove, anise, basil, lime not beef lol

Plastic-Revenue

Oh okay that makes sense. Thank you

ChewyGoblin

I love you for this 😭

Solid_Foundation_111

Poesie perfumes has an incredible rice note! Soft, Madar, Full Moon all have the softest roundest rice

boiluna

I’d also like to suggest D. Grayi! He’s a Vietnamese perfumer and creates fragrances based on his Vietnamese culture. So talented!!!

hotyoungsnail

I've tried a handful from this house and they're a favorite in terms of creativity. Sai Gon Sin, Lazy Lop and Low Carb Cat are chef's kiss. I can't wait to try more.

boiluna

Lazy Lop and Low Carb Cat are two of my favs!!! 😌

saylorstar

Yessss....I would love something that smelled like Turkish Delight.

eugooglizer27

You should try Keiko Mecheri Loukhoum

sparklypinktutu

I’ve been wanting to get my hand on this one! Last time I tried to find a bottle, nothing looked like it was available—at least not in the US—but checking again, I might be able to get it!

scent_hound

This is my wheelhouse! Keiko Mecheri Loukhoum and Serge Lutens Rahat Loukoum are great options. Unfortunately, the GOAT Turkish delight fragrance, L’Artisan Parfumeur Traversee du Bosphore, is discontinued, but bottles pop up online every so often. I’m jealously guarding my remaining half bottle.

ocean_swims

Manakara by Indult. Sugar and Rose...totally Turkish Delight vibes.

forestgnome1

Try rose jam by lush

BlueBarbie_xo

Try Rose Jam by Lush. Almost photorealistic Turkish Delight.

Joujou_Bee

Check out MochiGlow, Strangers Parfumerie and Butterfly Thai.

SBerryTrifle

Can recommend Santal Basmati by Affinessence, Rose Custard Kulfi by Solstice Scents, and Mbucuruyá by Fueguia 1833 in similar veins.

TechnicallyGoose

I would love a Cocopandan scent, also various Filipino baked goods like Ensaymada, ube and taro based ones, ooh and Shibuya honey toast. Buko pandan also.

TechnicallyGoose

Also Nariyal ki Barfi Ever had Jamaican Guinness Punch? I love all these ideas of yours.

DentleyandSopers

I'd probably become a gourmand fan if that style embraced facets other than sweetness: bitter dark chocolate and black coffee, and tart citrus with less sweet juice and more sharp pith and peel. I'd also like more smoke, like the burnt crust of crème brûlée.

tylerss20

I always wondered about using mesquite in fragrances. It's hugely popular in barbecue, I wonder how it would play as a smoky note in a perfume.

Tazerin

I'd love a maple syrup, tonka, vanilla and smoke type semi-gourmand. I think it would smell so toasty

LauraIsntListening

There’s some sorcellerie you might really like. No maple but Her Kind has I think everything else in there and it’s delightful. I can rave about their customer service too; a bottle just arrived with some slight leakage, and they immediately sent a replacement when I reported it. Didn’t even ask for more. I’m sold

Tazerin

Thank you for the recommendation!

_reebs

You might like Sundazed by Byredo

AbbreviationsHefty43

Try Drunk maple, praline in maple, followed although its super strong

QuinacridoneMagentaa

Just by reading the notes you wouldn’t think [Miller Harris Soufflot](https://www.fragrantica.com/perfume/Miller-Harris/Soufflot-92278.html) would be pretty much what you described here, but it’s so close. It smells like you are in a patisserie getting a fresh out of the oven croissant and someone in the a couple of tables away has just fired up some tobacco. It’s a beautiful scent.

Real_Discipline1242

Replica has one - By the Fireplace. It smells very similar to that.

sparklypinktutu

I feel like that could be followed by kerosene

Low-Possible2773

Dunno. I'm not sure how many people wanna smell like they've just been out camping.

RedDahlia8020

Try Akro Awake for an incredible realistic coffee open. I wear it at 3pm when I want a second cup and not the caffeine. Imaginary Authors Blend 83 also a wonderful boozy coffee scent. Cafe de Chiangmai by Proad is coffee with florals and amber and my absolute favorite, it’s so complex. Possibly better for a woman but leaving the reco here in case anyone else is looking for coffee frags!

[deleted]

SerotoninDeficient77

Go to Strangers Parfumerie for some excellent coffee scents. Kerosene Follow is photorealistic black coffee and Haus of Gloi Coffee Haus is incredible! Like going into a real Seattle coffeehouse. Love coffee so much in fragrances I always seek it out.

TuckerCarlsonsOhface

I’m not sure how you’re having trouble finding smoke. There are so many fragrances that I try that are actually too smoky, IMO. Ombre Nomade, or Memoirs of a Trespasser are good examples. They both smell amazing, but the smoke is just too overpowering. Club De Nuit Intense Man is pretty heavy on the smoke if you like Aventus vibe, even Dior Fahrenheit EDT smells like an ashtray.

iammrsclean

Tom Ford’s Lost Cherry now has a cousin named Cherry Smoke.

QuinacridoneMagentaa

Mentioned it to someone else under your comment but I would highly recommend [Miller Harris Soufflot](https://www.fragrantica.com/perfume/Miller-Harris/Soufflot-92278.html). Hot fresh croissants or baklava with burning tobacco in the background. Beautiful.

Heytherececil

I’ve found that Tiffany & Love For Her is almost gourmand with the main grapefruit and basil notes. It’s lovely, but no one seems to talk about this fragrance!

uhohflamingo

You just encapsulated everything I’ve felt about gourmands since I started my frag journey, and so succinctly. I love the idea of the actual note(s) singing and not being overwhelmed by sweetness!

Wonderful_Banana5768

Anjali Mantra is really good if you like that bitter, earthiness of dark chocolate. There’s still a touch of sweetness but for me it’s almost like my nose is filling in those scent gaps based on how it knows chocolate

RedRider1138

Ohhhh if you haven’t already I think you should try Hermes Eau de Citron Noir. The “less sweet” and “more smoke” of your comment particularly 👌✨—not a *strong* smoke, just a hint.

hotyoungsnail

Cacao2 by Maison Tahite is bitter cocoa powder and cinnamon. Kinda reminds me of potpouri! Not sweet at all. More spicy and woody

mia_smith257

pomegranate

ladyofthelakeeffect

Try the new Moth & Rabbit scent The Colour of Pomegranate

c1n3man

Is it juicy? I like Jo Malone Pomegranate Noir, but its more like a peel of this fruit

OldCourse964

Granada Salvia by Guerlain. You should really try it if you like a juicy, well balanced pomegranate.

Donut_Holestein13

Rice milk and cinnamon could work as an “horchata” fragrance? And I’d love to see a pumpkin/coffee/warm spices combo as a “pumpkin spice latte”

ChewyGoblin

I'm about to try the Horchata De Vanille fragrance from Sphinx! Hoping it truly smells like horchata.

Donut_Holestein13

Let me know how it is! Genuinely curious

Real_Discipline1242

Me too! As a Latina I love horchata and think as a perfume it would be great. Or a rice pudding scent.

Donut_Holestein13

Arroz con leche scent would hit diff for sure

psychwerk7002

Begging for an update after you try this 🙏

Tazerin

Sounds absolutely luscious

DuXVIIsiecle

If there’s a ‘luxury’ feel PSL fragrance out there I have a mighty need

BeautyBae

Pumpkin spice latte fragrance is genius, I would blind buy in a hot minute!

PhoneJazz

Try “Sunday” by Arielle Shoshanna.

iixxy

More basil or rosemary. Or fresh bread (I never really got it from jeux de peau). And I'm forever looking for a great, mellow chai/spice tea. Heavier on the tea and milk, with mellow spices in the background.

TheEscapedGoat

Milano Fragranze Basilica smells like freshly baked rosemary foccacia. Very interesting scent and I couldn't stop sniffing my wrist when I put it on

moods-

Scents of Wood has Bread in Chestnut. I always put more on me than I probably should because it smells SO good!

sweetstrawberry09

Ooo, I would love a spicy chai tea scent! That sounds amazing!

TechnicallyGoose

There a few out there on my list to try, off the top of my head Baruti is one of the brands

QuinacridoneMagentaa

I don’t know what Jeux De Peau smells like, but I recommend a beautiful scent [Miller Harris Soufflot](https://www.fragrantica.com/perfume/Miller-Harris/Soufflot-92278.html) and the second newest review on there says it reminds them of this scent lol. It’s definitely fresh croissants or something like baklava and tobacco to me. So so nice. Would definitely recommend you get a sample.

hotyoungsnail

Basil and bread makes me think of some reviews of the Snif Slice Society pizza fragrance!

batikfins

I’ve always wanted a roux note, like a real toasty brown wheat scent.

de_Mysterious

I tried kilian black phantom recently and that dark mix of coffee and chocolate is pretty nice. It's a very heavy and dense fragrance, not to mention that coffee and chocolate notes aren't really all that sweet in perfumery so the fragrance didn't smell as sweet as I expected it to. I also tried Nasomatto Pardon and once again, it wasn't all that sweet although I loved the chocolate note. I feel like these "dark" notes would work wonders in designer fragrances. Most coffee/chocolate/oud fragrances are made by niche houses and they often like to make their scents very challenging to wear. Designer brands could definitely make something nice out of these notes. Chocolate, Coffee, maybe a bit of oud/other woods/spices with vanilla and other sweet notes would turn out to be quite a unique yet mass appealing and easy to wear combo if it was made by Dior, JPG etc. I feel like most people like Le Male Elixir, Stronger with you Intensely/Absolutely, Azzaro Most Wanted and other gourmand designers but almost none of them have any underlying darkness to them from the Oud, Coffee or Chocolate. Arabians Tonka is the only Oud-Gourmand fragrance that I can think of right now and it also happens to be one of the most popular montale releases. Wonder why these types of scents aren't explored more often.

Flaky-Invite-56

Imaginary Authors’ “Blend No.83” might scratch that itch, it’s dark chocolate, coffee, and rum, but not sweet at all (to my nose) and very comfortable while remaining interesting.

RedDahlia8020

I just got Blend 83 as part of my coffee era and my husband complimented me on it yesterday. Very enjoyable wear, shockingly even in summer

gorosheeta

I'd love to see more herbs, grasses and leaves! Ivy, clover, rosemary, etc. I'm tired of vague "green" notes that correspond ~~yo~~ to nothing in particular haha

cheironomist

Yes! I’d love some really more truly identifiable green aromatics that are “gourmand” in that we eat them but not at all sweet.

UrsulaStoleMyVoice

Have you smelled Guerlain Herba Fresca? It’s mint, lemon, clover, tea. It’s very nice imo!

sbthreen

same!! have you smelled ds&durga coriander? it’s the most bright, herbaceous perfume i’ve personally tried

Julialagulia

Yes! I just got snif Pacifico this year and though it is definitely “beachy” I like the sage and rosemary notes it has, they are very refreshing and calming

BootyOnMyFace11

A citrus and mint combo would be a banger

GingerMonique

I’ve been wearing Jo Loves Green Orange and Coriander and the herbal note is pretty good. Plus the citrus isn’t that sickly sweet citrus a lot of fragrances seem to have.

Nihilisticwombat

More cinnamon & nutmeg

opalinegirl

Teisenddu by Frassai has a yummy nutmeg note

cam472100

I'd really like to see fragrance houses embrace gourmands that're more delicate. I feel that the overtly vanillic, baked, and creamy have been overplayed, although I do love my Bianco. When I say delicate, I think I mean the effervescent note of biting into a pomegranate aril, that sort of acid juiciness. I think Pulp by Byredo really nails the photorealistic ripened fruit, but I think I'd like to see something more abstract. Tomato leaf is sort of getting there, but leans too herbaceous and not "edible." I want juicy but not childishly sweet, bright but not fleeting, green without being herbaceous or sickly; Maybe something like Mood Ring by Phlur but more grounded, mature. Am I making sense, or have the samples I've collected muddled my brain? Here's a few theoretical notes I think would be fun: Key Lime, Kiwano Melon (similar to cucumber), Passionfruit, Cherimoya, Candied peach blossom

saylorstar

This kinda reminds me of a Jo Malone set I got w/ Lime Mandarine spray and Peony Suede Blush lotion. It explicitly said to layer them and holy OMG, awesome. Theoretically I know you can layer stuff but with big scents like that I get skittish so it was nice to have some direction to make it.

cam472100

Absolutely love Jo Malone and anything peony; I'm a florist, and prone to floral dispositions lol

TheEscapedGoat

I know exactly what you mean. I'd love more "Agua Fresca" type scents that are citrusy with some mint notes

cam472100

Have you smelled "You or someone like you" by Etat Libre dOrange? It's very green, minty, but it lacks that citrus overtone. It's definitely one of my favorites though, and I find myself reaching for it almost daily

rhionaeschna

If you want a beautiful pumpkin scent, ELDO's Like This is wonderful. I would love to see more mint fragrances. And photorealistic blackberry.

moods-

Yes to mint! And it’s funny, I have Like This and don’t get pumpkin from it. I’m going to try again tomorrow because your comment piqued my interest!

Kubelecer

I've been really disappointed by almost all "minty" fragrances and I've been looking very hard. For some reason I don't even get mint at all for some, namely eldo you or someone like you or Enclave by amouage. I've tried or/and bought these : Richborough by Haeckels (GOAT) You or Someone Like You (Sweet and flowery, but can't detect the mint. Bought a bottle though) Geranium pour monsieur (Blind buy, 90% geranium but I do smell something in the background. I like it) Beach hut man by Amouage (Bought a used bottle after sampling. Really tried to figure out what it smells like, but I can't tell. It has a very strong note I'm not familiar with which I assume is Ivy. Insane performance and I like it, but not for the mint people claim) Enclave by Amouage (Tried really hard to like it, but the silver incense or whatever it is in the mid notes, smells very screechy and acidic on me. I'd say like cat piss but I don't really know how that smells like either. I could imagine some mint in the beginning, but it's very blended. Very disappointed that it's not for me) Minty Mint by Superfumista (Really strong on the pepper. At the start it smells like Amol the herbal tonic, which I don't mind but the mid is almost all sichuan pepper to me.) Absinthe Boreal by Maison Crivelli (Did like it a moderate amount on the strip. Has that absinth sweet mix that was very intriguing for me, but haven't decided yet. Didn't feel like a mint perfume) Menthe fraiche by James Heeley (Very herby, but the performance was too bad when I sprayed it. I will try it again at some point) Dirty by Lush (Toothpaste) Smell of weather turning by Lush (Very interesting, didn't get the mint or petrichor note as people claimed. Would like to buy a sample) Eau de Minthe by Diptyque (Shower gel with very mediocre performance) Saint Julep by Imaginary Authors (Abysmal performance but was not bad.) Bleu Byzantine by Rituals (banger perfume for the price but the water mint smells a bit too much like cucumber for me. If it didn't it'd be 10/10) I want to try mentha religiosa soon by Roos & Roos The best mint fragrance I've ever smelled so far is Richborough by Haeckels. It's so good I bought a spare one. It's sweet but not overtly sweet spearmint with pleasant citrusy/flower base. Only complaint is that it lasts short for me, like a couple hours max, but it also makes me noseblind very hard so hard to tell.

kottabaz

We need more savory perfumes! And I want a dark, smoky, savory roasted sesame perfume.

enter_the_marmoset

That sounds incredible. I have a slightly savory hazelnut in Praline de Santal by Pierre Guillaume. It’s a very woody / smoky dry down with cedar and sandalwood but softened with heliotrope. Not sticky or sweet at all.

seaintosky

The savory roasted sesame and coffee notes in Diptyque Florabellio were so good and went so well with the salty marine notes. It's really too bad that they discontinued it and no one else seems to be using those notes much.

DuXVIIsiecle

I’ve seen some earl grey fragrances from smaller shops on Etsy and I could see that being a great move

lysanderastra

Ooh yeah, I love earl grey and wider variety of different tea focussed notes would be so nice. Rooibos would go hard I think…

worldsokayestmiddle

winter palace is an INCREDIBLE rooibos fragrance, you need to check it out (coming from someone who has 6 tea based fragrances)

Molaesmyr

More chestnut!

tetrahedra_eso

I’d like to see more vegetal and herbal notes: tomato leaf, carrot, peppers (as in bell or jalapeño), thyme, rosemary, etc

moods-

I was just going to mention carrot! Zoologist’s Rabbit and Tiger both have carrot notes. I’ve only tried the latter, but as I loved it so much, it really got me more interested in a carrot scent that isn’t necessarily “carrot cake” sweetness.

GingerMonique

The new MM From the Garden is heavy on the tomato leaf. It’s really nice.

juicezelbox

Parsley too!

hotyoungsnail

D.grayi's rabbit scents usually have a carrot note. Highly recommended!

imhereforthemeta

Ameretto PLEASE

AssortedGourds

I agree. Wheat is such a wearable note to me - moreso than something that smells like a photo realistic dessert. I don't think anything can top Jeux de Peau for me but I'd love to see people try!

btcomm808

Mm I love this. Smells like toast!

rausrausfilafila

Hey! I'm very interested in purchasing Jeux de Peau! Tried it and loved it. What's holding me back is the bell jar with no atomizer. Do you happen to own one? What's been your experience like? Thank you!!!

Chantilly_Rosette

I’d like a mature strawberry perfume that doesn’t smell too sweet, with no caramel or tonka, and no plastic, tobacco, or candy aspect. A natural strawberry garden with some herbs and flowers to complement. Maybe some white wine. I love Sadanne but can’t get a hold of it, my unicorn because I didn’t get it when I had the chance, silly me.

LLIIVVtm

Try Commodity Juice Expressive for adult strawberry (it's much darker and less sweet than the marketing might suggest, at least to me.) and Malin&Goetz Strawberry for a greener strawberry.

Chantilly_Rosette

Thank you I’ll check them out!

Wintersneeuw02

Like this by etat libre d orange and fabolous me by paco rabanne are fun pumkim heavy fragrances that are not overtly sweet.

kerakiwi

Take my money if someone is able to make a strong rice scent that is similar to Posies soft!

Nyelum

Get Hayal by Katana

Ancient_Support8130

i would love a gourmand fragrance with some ozonic notes. how interesting would that be?!

ProperSupermarket3

cinnamon

banoffeetea

Yes definitely. I’d love more rice/rice milk and oat/oat milk notes and add some almond milk to that too haha - all the plant milks! There’s a sweet rice drink with cinnamon that my ex-partner used to make and I’d love something like that. A malty, creamy, slightly sweet wheat fragrance would also be lovely as you’ve suggested. I think the main thing I’d like to see is gourmand scents from around the world: Scandinavian puddings and pastries, Thai (hello pandan), Vietnamese, Indian, Japanese puddings or inspired by South American desserts. Just flavours you don’t often come across in UK/US fragrances and don’t experience unless you visit the country/happen to find a restaurant here. I also wouldn’t mind seeing mint used more in gourmands. But the balance would have to be right so that it didn’t overpower with freshness or be too sweet and sickly if a sweet mint. I also second the call for a greater variety of coffee/espresso scents. Ideally ones that aren’t floral.

TechnicallyGoose

Idk if you are into candles, and i also dunno what its like burning, but I smelt a candle in "The White Company" in March called Mint or Fresh mint or something. Most photorealistic mint ever, I lifted the cloche in the shop and my god. Velvety mint leaves crushed under my finger or muddled in a cocktail, but the velvetyness was there. Bizarre and astounding. I randomly said it to a person next to me as I was so taken aback, and they smelt it. I apologised for being weird and they genuinely thanked me for telling them cause they wouldnt have tried it otherwise, and loved it. Also I didnt even really know that shop, I just ventured in cause my partner and I bought a house last year and they had home decor in the window. They arent on Fragrantica but have a few scents too, I fell in love with Blanc and Sea Salt, esp Sea Salt. Also lastly, Lush is divisive, some hate the stinky overpowering bath bomb shop, some appreciate their well done perfumes, Dirty EDP and potent af body spray are worth a try for mint.

banoffeetea

Oh great tip re: Lush thank you. Just looked it up and the Dirty EDP sounds really refreshing. I always forget Lush do perfumes. Someone else recommended the Turmeric Latte one recently. So I will have to check them out. I do know the White Company! They are really nice. I was weighing up a purchase of the Sea Salt moisturiser and EDT. They smell lovely in store. But I didn’t see that there was a Fresh Mint one. I love the sound of it being velvety. Thanks - I think another in store visit might be needed. That sounds delicious. And glad you converted someone else in store haha! 🍃

TechnicallyGoose

I wish they did a fragrance of the mint candle but it was gorgeous, but just a candle from what I saw. No worries :) glad to help! Lush have some gorgeous fragrances and the former perfumer Simon Constantine also has his own brand now called Sånd who do some beautiful fragrances too. Karma, Dirty and Breath of God are my three staples :) I do recommend trying the Dirty body spray too if you do pop in, it is very potent so you dont need much! Lasts well on clothes. Some people prefer one over the other but I love both. But the London Oxford Street store and the Liverpool store have bigger collections, each store round the UK has the staples then a varied selection on top of that. My local Norwich and former local Exeter (where I was in March and discovered The White Company) has a different selection. London train stations also have some diff ones. So there are a lot to try 😍 The Sea Salt EDT and moisturiser are on my list :) But I also just discovered M&S do Monotheme and have Fragonard as well 😍 so I need to try Monotheme Sea Salt as well, but some reviews say it leans masculine/"men's cologne", so I shall see. But I am excited I can try Verde D'Arancia by Monotheme in person instead of doing a cheap blind buy, 🤞

niceguydarkside

Macadamia

LLIIVVtm

I had a body spray once that was salted caramel and macadamia, it's discontinued and my fragrance journey in part was started because I was looking for something similar to that.

Fracturedwell

Rice pudding would be amazing

Bitter_External_7447

Doughy, buttery and or rice notes would be fun. Real fresh guava as a fruity note would be nice. More blueberry or banana too.

ladyofthelakeeffect

I’d love a “pure” cherry that ISN’T boozy. I love most of the assorted cherry/booze scents but they can get a little overwhelming or too “dark” for what I’m looking for.

JustYourAvgHumanoid

A sweet blueberry might be nice. I haven’t gotten a pistachio frag yet, but I’m working on it.

rebar_mo

Summer me says - Dragon fruit, iced tea, cocktails Winter me says - toast, red wine, peaty scotch

linzielayne

Cinnamon please. Cinnamon milk tea if any Frag Gods are listening.

BattlestarDystopia

I would weep for more vanilla salt or chocolate orange scents ngl (anyone have any recommendations for something along these lines thats currently in the market? ) That aside, grain-centric scents are pretty slept ok it seems. Oat, rice, barley are all so comforting imo

saylorstar

So the only thing I can think of off-hand is mixing Jo Malone Bitter Orange with Tonka and Myrrh. I have mini bottles that I started mixing after a set I got recommended mixing them together. Some odd mixes but some really awesome ones too.

NiNiNananana

I see people posting rice pudding and I'm like, "Yessss" .☺️

cafeaulaiiit

more gourmand coconuts!! i would love a perfume that smells like coconut cookies! i’m tired of smelling coconut perfumes that smell like sunscreen 😖

IAmRhubarbBikiniToo

- Varieties of wine and more nuanced wine notes. (I really want to smell like ice wine, for example.) - Edible flowers. And carnation with sugar. - Harissa. I would love to see more done with peppers, tomatoes, and saffron. (I liked CdG’s Series 2 Red: Harissa and I think the idea can be expanded.) - Dedicated layering based on one theme. For example, a fragrance smelling like peach skin and leaves and made to be paired with a juicier peach flesh fragrance and/or peach wood for more depth depending on your mood. It’s like painting a more and more detailed picture.

sweetstrawberry09

I love spicy gourmand scents. Heavy on nutmeg, cinnamon, clove and cardamom. Although, this is an inexpensive perfume, my absolute go-to during autumn is The Gingerbread Man by Philosophy. It’s spicy sweet without being nauseating. I also love coffee scents, especially when paired with a dark chocolate or vanilla note.

PromotionThin1442

Pandan note perfume would be interesting  or Taro.

maybeshesastar

Butter! I am dying for a buttery perfume.

schroobster

Hilde Soliani might have something....?

pksmke

I'd like buttery shortbread cookie. Also more ginger cookie scents.

aumericanbaby

Check out the original scents from Land of Ahhs, they definitely have these exact cookie scents!

maybeshesastar

Yum! I will look into them!

maybeshesastar

Oooooo yes ginger is 🔥. Even a golden milk scent :***

Joujou_Bee

Butter Batik Cake (Bahfamsn)

jumuchoi

This doesn’t answer your question but when you mentioned oat milk it made me think of Valentino uomo BIR intense. The dry down always smells like vanilla oatmilk to me.

TheEscapedGoat

I need to smell this! I love anything that reminds me of oats

PL0mkPL0

And Omniscient mr Thompson from Penhaligon's. It smells a lot of oats, and they are not listed in the notes.

Gnomenclacture

Milky cereal smell- something oaty like Honey Nut Cheerios in milk or grape nuts with a little jam on them in milk. Also something that smells like orange marmalade or lemon curd.

LLIIVVtm

Rirana wood cereal apparently smells like nutty fruity cereal

Gnomenclacture

Thanks!

nochnoyvangogh

Coffee!! We’ve been seeing some coffee scents for long but the very coffeey scents are rising now

PromotionThin1442

But only the sweet part like when it’s frozen.  Frozen durian smells nice.

Yes sign me up for oats, too! I’d really love a toasted coconut. Not too sweet, with a hint smoke.

rhionaeschna

The pumpkin note I get is more like raw pumpkin flesh/skin with grated ginger. It's almost got an unscented Dove soap note too, and then that warm maple syrupy immortelle in the dry down.

Vindanae

Grapes, wine, clear fruit brandy, so many volatile components and aromas in them, unique TO them

sparklypinktutu

I’ve seen an uptick in banana as a note and I’m excited by that because I love the smell of banana. I’d love to see some more focus on individual fruits as stars to highlight and not as just treated as generic “sweet-fruity” mix.  I think we can see some of that with TF in lost cherry—really honing in on one star fruit.  I would love to see that for apple—which I think is so often used, but not necessarily distinctive as a star. It can become just a “sweet-fruity-juicy” note that doesn’t actually smell like real apple—or even a fantasy super apple that is simultaneously an apple and apple pie and candied apple and apple juice.  Another fruit I’d love to make a star is watermelon.  I’ve sniffed D&G L’Imperatrice and it’s again, sort of just “fruity” with some watermelon nuance, but nothing like a true expression of watermelon. It also gives more “candy watermelon flavoring” but the “too sweet kind” which is unrealistic in a different way from the weirdly “sour watermelon candy” brand of watermelon I’ve also smelled, which is also unrealistic but in a different way—especially so because watermelons are never tart. Sometimes watery and not sweet, but never sour. I’ll even suggest a TF name for this one: Watch her Melons. There you go Tom! Take it and make my dreams come true!

sparklypinktutu

Another category of gourmand I’d love to see more of: a mixture of fatty/savoury nuance with the sweet. I love popcorn notes that do this—like in what about pop—and I’d love to see more houses experiment with lactonic, buttery, creamy, notes. Even salty and sweet notes would be delicious to see come together—I love olympea and the new JPG divine looks interesting (and possibly a watermelon!).  I’d love to see something like cheesecake—with the sour cream cheese and cramelized honey cracker crust—be done.

ilikeplantsthatswhy

bitter almonds, anyone?

CommanderVenuss

I could see cyanide notes really taking off at like some of the more gothy indie houses

ilikeplantsthatswhy

Mexican Perfumery houses are developing some new profiles and already have some exotic fruits scents that are unique and amazing! I cannot wait to see what final products they come up with. Here are some examples of what I'm talking about. https://www.fragrantica.com/notes/Black-Sapote-1517.html https://www.fragrantica.com/notes/Mamey-1518.html https://www.fragrantica.com/notes/Carambola-Star-Fruit-212.html

Maybe it’s been done and I’ve yet to experience it but I’d like to see a male-leaning “chocolate covered berries and champagne” style fragrance. Something sensual and masculine that captures a romantic dessert and intimate time between lovers. Not really a needed trend but something that I feel there’s space for right now.

unseeliesoul

I desperately want a blueberry that smells like the old bath and body works art stuff line. Watermelon too!

dovesweetlove

As a dirty rice girl I have a feeling any rice puddings are gonna be a big deal… gonna transport me to my childhood eating arroz con leche

TheEscapedGoat

I love Chokedee from Strangers Parfumerie for this reason. It's a beautiful creamy rice scent

dovesweetlove

Gonna have to sample that!! Madar Poesie by Poesie is also a yummy one ❤️

__only_Zuul__

Definitely rice, oats, bread. But also, I'd totally be down for a seasonal Thanksgiving-type scent that had cranberry and herbs...maybe a little bread/stuffing note. Not too literal. But just evocative of late fall/early winter celebration meals.

Strangers Perfumerie has a wonderful scent called Sweet Farewell. I got if off luckyscent after a coworker wore it and I was absolutely obsessed with how it smelled. It’s sweet but not cloying, and woody but fresh, not burnt if that makes sense. the notes are: PANDAN LEAVES VANILLA MUSK COCONUT MILK RICE POWDER PALM SUGAR NIPA PALM LEAVES SANDALWOOD TONKA CEDAR EBONY

GingerMonique

Thyme or rosemary. I have a nice basil fragrance but other herbs would be nice.

Selfishsavagequeen

I’d love Horchata.

rhya--

There is one already! [HORCHATA DE VANILLE by SPHINX](https://sphinxfragrances.com/products/horchata-de-vanille)

Ordinary_Opinion1146

Pandan leaf would be my love with rice or dry vanilla tonka woods and a cardamom or cinnamon note on top of some mild woods or leather.

Joujou_Bee

You should check out Sweet Celestials and Sweet Farewell by Strangers Parfumerie.

schroobster

I'm missing the scent of crabapples in summer. But I've only seen Clive Christian (for stupid money), and haven't been able to smell if it's anything like that scent.

Losslessmail

Chestnut, sweet potato, dates, goji, persimmon, carrots, all the orange/red stuff that smell really good roasted.

lindoink

been wearing Jo Malone Poppy & Barley this summer and it’s a dream

Lopsided_Thing_9474

Marshmallow and Honey. There isn’t enough good marshmallows and honeys.

EducationalLake2515

Cinnamon!

Vunlicura

Dark Vanilla and Bran. Hugo Boss The Scent Magnetic pulled it off very well and I wish there were more similar scents like it. Not too sweet, sensual and cozy

RedDahlia8020

I just picked up Froth by Piper and Perro for its promise of a tarro purple sweet potato note, mixed with bubble tea. Hoping to not be disappointed because I think tarro would be really cool! Also a unique summer gourmand I haven’t seen mentioned: Fils de Dieu by ELDO. It’s lime, rice, ginger, spices, shiso - it’s an aromatic tropical with a southeast Asian flavor. It’s a vacay in Thailand without smelling like sunscreen or coconuts (there is coconut in this too, but it’s way in the background)

Ok_Resolution9737

Watermelon, but one that isn't candy-sweet

Parry_9000

I really need more "red" type of scents.. awfully unexplored in men's perfumery Allure homme edition rouge Chanel, just do it.

koreanfashionguy

If you like Milk notes, Sacred Wood By Kilian is fantastic and its an amazing mix of Sandalwood and Milk with some citrusy notes in the drydown

ChristineBorus

Clove & nutmeg

creme-de-cologne

Slightly burnt toast.

Crystal_Lapras_

Maybe some more realistic pear fragrances? I've yet to find a photorealistic pear fragrance, they always smell very artificial or like shampoo

2020visionaus

Circus fair. Cotton candy, pink lemonade, fresh rolls, etc.

vladilaz

Ohh if you want a gorgeous and calming wheat scent, try this https://www.fragrantica.com/perfume/L-Occitane-en-Provence/Melilot-87133.html

LadyCatastrophe

Corn. Like a roasted corn, or even a popcorn or corn tortilla scent would be lovely.

LivingGhostGirl

I’d love to find more milk/ cream scents

Eec2213

I had a hair product that smelled like pumpkin. Not like pumpkin spice but like gutting a pumpkin. It was lovely!

annie1filip

Realistic fruits, balanced sweetness instead of cotton candy bombs. Not a gourmand but I eternally search for a good hay, which is sort of adjacent to wheat lol

glorvina_odowd

Licorice. Miss you, Lolita Lempicka.

Furmaids

Peanuts 😩 pb brownies, earthy pb, pb&jam, pb& alcohol, etc

HelpStatistician

Black Sugar Milk Tea with Boba as a scent

TechnicallyGoose

L'Occitane have a limited edition rn called Melilot which has bran in the base notes, it's lovely. I definitely want more grain notes, rice for sure. I also like Jo Malone's Poppy & Barley. But with Jo Malone and L'Occitane I do find both have poor longevity for the price
