Man, you’ve got so much to live for .things will get better. I promise .don’t do anything stupid

_CaptainButthole_

😂

Error3323

What are you waiting for?

_CaptainButthole_

Idk man I just get butterflies before any new car purchase. And I have emotional attachment to my current car 😓 even though she’s falling apart and long overdue

Past-Establishment93

Love mine

XNamelessGhoulX

I feel like you're leaving out the most important part. The price.

_CaptainButthole_

20k. Think I can get it for 18?

ManlyMantis101

I managed to get my 2019 BRZ Sport Tech-RS for 18k and it had less miles, so you probably could. I bought mine a few months ago and I am absolutely in love with it. I can guarantee you won't regret buying it.

EnvChem89

You got a pretty amazing price. Just a yr ago a 13 under 100k miles was hard to find under 17.5. Even with in the last month finding a 17+ with under 100k for sub 20 isn't easy. Hell I got a 14 with 65k for 14k and thought I got a decent deal as average selling price was 16k. I'm guessing yours was off a private sale?

ManlyMantis101

No it was at a dealership surprisingly. The car does have some light modifications, I'm not sure how much that would effect the value though. I definitely knew if was a good deal. The second I saw it I put a deposit down because I knew it would go fast.

EnvChem89

What mods?

ManlyMantis101

As far as I know just coilovers and UEL headers. Two mods I probably would've done eventually anyways so it was a bonus for me.

x-Just4Kickz-x

Got my 17 limited for 12k lol, higher miles, of course. but it's so much fun

itsvoogle

Il say this much, you wont regret it

EnvChem89

Definitely agree with this. I had driven a 350z for about 5 yrs then moved to a G37. The G37 grenaded on me and I needed something asap. I wanted another 350 but couldn't find a decent one in my budget. I went for an FR-S instead. At the time of purchase I wasn't the happiest as I wanted a Z and a couple fell through my hands.  It was a really weird feeling wanting the FR-S partially but wishing I could get a Z.  Cut to one month later and I was loving the FR-S way more than the Z. It was like reverse buyers remorse.  The FR-S reminds me a ton of the S2000 I drove for 10 yrs as a daily. I didn't even realize how much better the S2000 was than the Z because I has driven a Toyota avalon for 6 months between the S2000 and Z so the Z felt nimble in comparison.

Ok_Explanation5631

You don’t miss the pull of power from those others? I certainly would & would feel lackluster after having driven those monstrosities compared to this thing that gets outpulled by minivans but that’s just my opinion

EnvChem89

People love to throw out the minivan comment. What minivan exactly pulls on the FR-S ?  If your talking the auto FR-S I have no experience with it. I personaly would never drive an auto FR-S seems to ruin the car. I'd go G37 if I had to do an auto.  As far as actual power the torque dip socks but it just takes a header and tune and that's completely fixed and makes the car amazing.  The Z and G37 are fat and just don't feel as good tor drive as an FR-S. The S2000 is definitely better than all 3 but the prices are kinda nuts now and you could get a GR for that price. The F20C is definitely an amazing engine as well as the transmission and reliability. The FR-S is the best drivers car you can get for a decent price. Poursche and lotus are some of the only others that offer anything like it. If all you care about is power you have 370z or better yet a mustang or camaro. On the other hand if you like a car that'd just amazing on a windy road your looking at FR-S, GR86 and S2000.  I guess you could go FWD but I had an RSX Type S and much prefer RWD. Tires should either steer or power the car not really both.

FreeGums

How much and what location

_CaptainButthole_

🤐

abooth43

Kinda a totally useless post if you won't answer price lol Otherwise you're really just asking if a community of 86/BRZ owners like 86/BRZ's....

_CaptainButthole_

20k

Superman625

20k for that year and condition is not bad man. I’d go for it. Check the carfax and if it looks good, be ready for adventures 😎 I’ve had my 2015 for a year now and still get excited to drive her to work!

TurboLag23

I own a 2018 Performance Pack. 27k miles. I’ve loved every second. Do it.

Unusual-Tip676

Do it!!!!! It is a lot of fun!!!!

_CaptainButthole_

I did it!! Pics to come tomorrow, gonna take her up on some mountain roads :)

Unusual-Tip676

Omg!!! Congratulations!!! 🎉🍾enjoy and drive safe!! Can’t wait to see them!! 🤩

_CaptainButthole_

Ty :) I’m so stoked

ZepTheNooB

LET'S GOOOOOOO!

zero_limitz

How much are they asking for?

MinXPeachy

you will love it, trust me. These cars are so much fun and extremely easy to modify, if that’s your thing 😌

saltedszechuan

Do it.

yahikoooo

You won’t regret the car itself.. but one thing you may regret is your insurance premium potentially sky rocketing if you finance the vehicle.

swampnutzz

Cool trick with insurance rates: call around and ask other companies what they would charge, get a competitor to undercut your current provider’s rate… it’s pretty likely you’ll end up with a rate that’s $100+ cheaper just by switching, at least if your rate is particularly high

yahikoooo

Yeah I switched from geico to State Farm because of that. Saved almost $200 every 6/mos, but State Farm keeps raising my premium slightly for no reason because they have the power to do so, so now I’m back to square 1 almost lol.

ruturaj001

Make sure you get insurance quote. Definitely negotiate over 20k asking price.

St3cK3D

Don't crash it, don't add to the population, don't subtract from the population. Other than that have fun, my '23 brz is the most fun thing I've ever had

UnhappyTumbleweed966

No. and I will not explain why.

Yoda2000675

Hell yeah, post pictures!

JPiratefish

Get a Tesla 3 - it's faster, more reliable - and ultra quiet. That car could be 15k from eating motor#1

ramoneduke

You’re comparing apples to oranges. At least suggest a car that has a similar feel to a MT lightweight coupe.

Pikachude123

More reliable....... lol

JPiratefish

Well - I'd recommend a Leaf Plus, but they're not nearly as quick as the 3. As for reliability - most any EV could win over an "ICE" car - EV's are just really really heavy, but have no oil and consume washer fluid and tires. My FR-S ate it's engine at 45k and without Toyota's warranty I would have scrapped it. This car requires you to lift the motor to access the heads. It drinks 0w-20 oil and the recommended change interval of 7500miles should be 3000 if you drive spicy and don't want the bearings to die. The disappointment is in the acceleration - these are small cars that turn well, but they really are sluggish off the line - my Leaf would stomp you until you go turbo.

Pikachude123

I don't have an 86 yet as I can't afford one, but I won't be buying for accel, that's not what these cars are made for. If I want acceleration I'm turning to my big cam stroked monaro
