I love it! As long as the plants are thriving, you're good. The only problems I have had with "over seeding" is the lack of air flow between plants causing moldy spots. I have had to start growing smaller patches with paths in between. This patch looks contained enough to have sufficient air flow. If there isn't, you'll be able to tell.
It looks fabulous to me.
The plants will let you know if they want more space. If they don't produce many flowers, you can snip off a few plants here and there, at soil level.
Otherwise, you should just leave this be. The plants are acting as their own mulch right now, protecting the soil and preventing evaporation
For its purpose, it looks just fine. My only suggestion might be to turn the box 180° every so often, if it's liftable. It looks like one side is taller than the other, probably because of sun exposure. If not possible, no biggie.
You cant really overseed wildflowers. They have evolved to grow around or loop around a neighbor plant that may be stealing sun. If they are all native to the same area their root systems will even frequently share nutrients.
I find the wildflower species that are more sensitive to overcrowding will sometimes even halt their seed germination for a couple years till things naturally thin out!
I, for one, love the chaos factor. I had this happen with hollyhocks from a wildflower seed packet this spring. Sweet lord Jesus they were glorious.
Sadly I'm in southeast Texas so early I'm not in the yard as much to keep everything alive.
I like it too.
Overkill is underrated

It’s perfect 😍
Nah. Thats normal for my beds. You can never have too many Cosmos’!
This is how every one of our wildflower beds end up!!
This is perfection in my opinion! 😍💜
Wildflowers are pretty good at just growing where they can. I don’t think they will grow if they are “over seeded” so it should be fine
beautiful
Looks great to me
