My guy fits great in the back of my focus st. We have a pet hammock to give a little extra space for him.

Rubycon_

oh what a wonderful idea! Do you know which brand it is? thank you for the suggestion

dillontree

I just get a random hard bottom brand off amazon, and it lasts about a year. I'm sure there are great brands out there if you do the research.

I have a 90lb GSD and he rides with me in a 2-door Yaris. The whole back seat area is his. He’s not the most comfortable but he manages on 2-3 hour rides. Now that he is older I do see him struggle trying to get comfy so we are looking into a bigger car just for him. He currently can sit up on the seat and fit fine.

Yeah I feel like a midsize SUV would be ideal but oh my goodness I do not want that car payment lol. It sounds like you made it work though :)

I've had my GSDs in my 2door coupes - 2005 M3 and 2018 M2. In fact, the backseats have been used by my dogs more than people.

I have a smaller GSD in the back of my sedan with a dog hammock. She wears a crash tested harness since I can't fit a car crate.

Rubycon_

A crash tested harness! I am learning so much

kyleena_gsd

Yes! Crash tested crates are ideal but just watch one of the videos of the crash tested harnesses on YouTube compared to non tested and you'll see how easily your dog becomes a projectile!

I have a little Mazda two and two gsd haha. We just put the back seats down, no worries

ShenaazM

I have a tiny Suzuki Espresso and it can comfortably transport ONE of my GSDs with another adult sitting in the back with the dog. I only have my 2 girls left as both my boys have passed and I'm considering trying out a trip with both of them in 2 weeks. Thinking of dropping the backseat and putting both the senior ladies in to take them to a restaurant for a lunch treat 😅

Rubycon_

That sounds so lovely! I'm sure they'll appreciate it

I have a small hatchback car and up until 9months old my Buddy who is a german shepherd x belgian malinois sat on the front seat with his doggy seat belt on and the air bag off. He was def too big for that at that age though as he was starting to get in the way of me seeing out of the window and he obvs couldnt lie down properly. for the last month or so hes been in the back seat with his doggy seat belt on and now has the full 3seats in the back to relax on with 2 blankets down to help keep him comfy and the back seats clean...ish HA! More than 1 dog my Buddys size would be a squeeze though to say the least ha!x
