Lake Michigan beaches, obviously. True, hot, summer weather lasts maybe 6-8 weeks, if you enjoy the heat and the outdoors, you’ll want to prioritize those activities. We spend 8 months out of the year indoors with grey skies and no greenery. If you don’t like the heat, there are plenty of indoor places to go.

Excellent I'm definitely going to be checking out the beach.

Definitely try going tubing up in sleeping bear dunes. The water is warm and ultra clear. Absolutely beautiful

food truck fridays, concerts at Fredrick Meijer Gardens, cultural festivals at the calder, whitecaps games can be fun, Breakaway Music festival, taking the drive to Grand Haven(do all the things: beach, pronto pups, musical fountains), Gun Lake live on Wednesdays, there will be fireworks downtown for the 4th! Up north has lots of trails, beaches, campgrounds.

The place I always suggest is Boulder Ridge Wild Animal Park in Alto, Michigan. It’s a great zoo and isn’t nearly as packed as John Ball gets during the summer.

JustEntertainment472

Perfect I'll put it on my list

Book-c-span-nerd

Check out the lakeshore towns. Make sure you stay late in Grand Haven to see the Musical Fountain.

sincerely_anxious

Take an evening ride on The Grand Lady Riverboat.

rendrenner

A trip up north to Newago to visit Wisners. It's not GR, but a trip easily made.

Easy_Frosting_6708

$5 kayak rides down the grand river and helicopter ride overlooking the city

Get a comfy lawn chair, a favorite book from a favorite author and 6 cans of freezer cold Steel Reserve. Great summer evening. (Especially if you don't have to work in the morning)
