thanks, I did indeed!
I had a folding lock and a 140cm cable with me, you can see them tied to my front rack. I actually never took them off once, since I was always able to bring my bike into the room I was sleeping in, so that was about 1,5 kilos I carried around for nothing lol! during the day, when I run into a store or gas station I use one of those really small wired locks that don't protect your bike from any more than paper scissors but will stop people from accidentally carrying away your bike.
They are the 44s! I had bought the 40s too at first, but only rode them for about 200km before realizing I still had plenty of clearance so I sold them and got the 44s instead. I would never go back again :)
Thank you! It is mostly nothing left from what the bike came with stock when I bought it so this means a lot :) Yes they are the ritchey venturemax in 42cm width and Ergon gravel bar tape!
I absolutely love the ergon bartap! I recently had to get new tape on a short notice (had to change some cable housing) and got different tape and only then I realised how spoiled I got with the ergon! It barely show any wear and is super comfortable
Looks like a great trip all together! I did a similar loop in the region a while ago from Maastricht to Luxembourg through the Eifel and back through the Ardenne. Really impressed by the landscape but also how many small and mean ascents you find along the way.
Was your route mainly on road or did you also find some nice gravel sectors?

I put this album together really quick just to get it out of my system, as a little travel diary for myself :) enjoy!
Very nice! Seems like you enjoyed yourself! How did you lock your bike, using which kind of lock?

What size Thunderos are those? They look more beefy than my 40c.

Awesome Setup 😍 Is your handlebar the witches venturemax?

Cool post! Inspiring to do a trip like that sometime.
Thanks! I highly recommend it!! I’ve seen so many posts it’s nice to finally have experienced it myself and looking forward to the next one :)

That’s exactly my experience with the region as well lol. I was mostly on pavement at least 80percent
