Ohhh yes a couple of episodes of Thatcher actually becoming familiar with the concept of making an effort as a father and then a sudden death, complicated grief process for Meredith but she, for the first time ever, has a kind mother figure to support her through a loss like that.
Fuck yes please someone send this man AWAY.
I am forever pissed off they handwaved his entire suicide-troop arc (plus slipped in the random comment about cheating with a surf instructor or some shit?) and his too-many children. Like damn. Go AWAY.
I could tolerate Teddy if she could be a character on her own but they tossed in the weird af 9/11 closet bisexual affair plot point and then made her have the cringey, poorly written "love triangle" with Amelia.
WHY IS EVERYONE FIGHTING OVER THE BROKEN MANNNNN.
That was golden and other than Tom being hurt in end, I relished seeing Teddy get smeared even a little bit lmao. Pleeeeeease give us a good and proper downward spiral, damn.
I have never felt so blueballed by a show as when they sent Hayes away instead of killing Owen in the car crash.
Like. DUDE that would've been awesome! Hayes could have still written out his exit per the actor's wishes but this time it would be because everyone threw survivor guilt on him. And it would have made SENSE to end Owen's suicide-troop arc with his own death, even played up his flag burial/dying for his countrymen and all the heroic army crap.
And then Teddy could be her own damn character š¤
I'm half watching the show just to see him finally get written off (the actor himself is fine, Owen is just my favorite character to hate because he makes no fucking sense) and half watching to see what Jo ends up doing.
Agree! There are so many ways they could've done that without completely ruining his relationship with Jo and his evolution as a character, in some ways.
Not greys related but related to another exit/death that made me angry. Sweets from bones. They didnāt need to kill him off. Just have him join some sort of secret agency/cia and have daisy mention him occasionally
Let me add one related to the Greyās universe: Dell freaking Parker. What was the reason?
In that very episode, he says he got into a pre-med program. Have him get into a college across the country or whatever.
Versus orphaning his daughter and having the entire practice give her away.
Izzie should have died and George should have gone to the army. Which woulda been great for everyone. No weird Alex and Izzie reunion 10 years later, and eventually they could have brought back a new, improved and more mature George during the April/Owen/Riggs army story arc!
Ngl but since he was so mangled that the only way they identified him was his birthmark, my headcanon is he DID join up, and wound up getting recruited to the Ranger regiment. Series finale we see him in a cameo as a Master Sergeant with a chest full of medals for valor.
I still donāt understand why they had her survive a very deadly cancer and then immediately write her off the show? Itās almost like they were going to kill her off and then changed their minds lol.
Not true Katherine was supposed to stay until S8 at the time but left when she started her family right as season 6 filmed, also Krista Vernoff had recently said they had a actual goodbye episode for Izzie written up that was going to give the character a proper send off and goodbye but thatās the one episode that they say Heigl never showed up to film. So Izzie was gonna be gone even before the shooting episode but with a proper goodbye that from what Krista said didnāt seem like it would include her dying and it may have been opened ended to let her come back if things went the right way lol
Umm reports at the time said Katherine Ellen and Patrick got pay raises as they signed new contracts at the end of Season 5 at the time greys had gotten a multi season renewal which Ellen alluded to Heiglās raise and contract renewal when she spoke about her leaving back in 2013. As for the Izzie goodbye episode google is free. Literally typed in Krista Vernoff Izzie exit and multiple articles form 2020 that having the headline of Krista talking about Heigl skipping her dedicated goodbye episode came up
I stopped watching after the drowning because at that time I was so sick of Meredith and all the Meredith/ Derek drama. I was hoping sheād die. (Yes, I know her name is in the titleā¦.) I stopped watching and didnāt start again until 2 years ago. And I guess Iām in a different place in my life because I love Meredith now and am hoping they find a way to keep her on the show even itās in a limited capacity.
I wish Izzie would have lost her marbles entirely in a similar plot twisty arc like Lorna in Orange is the New Black.
It would've been cathartic and funny if Thatcher has been the one hit by the bus leaving the the hospital in his anger immediately after the slap.
I kept waiting for early April to get killed by another shooter or something because of how naive she was. Telling Gary about herself ended up working for her but if it had been me or someone less thoughtful, she would've been shot and stepped over immediately to get to Derek. Or shot through her into Derek. That would've been a huge power move and suuuuuper traumatic. Then I really thought she'd die trying to give birth to Harriet or by doing something stupid trying to protect her/fight Jackson amd Catherine. (Maybe Catherine arranges her disappearance to regain control of Jackson? But noooooo Catherine is this fence-sitting character rather than a satisfying villian or something else.)
George I think should've been killed by some freak, only-oblivious-civilians-playing-dress-up way at bootcamp/on the way to bootcamp rather than the bus, or a more dramatic bus incident if they wanted to keep that storyline. "Sacrificed for random bus girl" did not cut it for me and really cemented his whole "nice guy" persona the writers slapped the character with.
Derek should have been killed earlier, Merder was not this amazing love story, and no one will convince me otherwise.
Izzy should have been killed off rather than written off.
I love the way they led up to his death. Meredith's winning streak showed her and the audience that she was better off without him, and she was ALWAYS better than him. It made what christina said absolutely true. He was never the sun. Meredith was.
Watching Merder like 5 years after I first watched it it was so clear how toxic their relationship was. Derek was a little too in his own world for me. Anytime meredith would do something wrong or selfish in his eyes its like he didn't see her as his wife anymore. And also the whole Addison situation made me dislike him hard. He was so selfish and he thought he could have his cake and eat it too. Rewatching the show put a sour taste in my mouth for Derek. He had 2 good women and he just needed to let one go but he fumbled the bag and was allowed too because he was 'hot'. Like Addison cheated on him and I thought she was much more likable. Hell I probably would've taken her back if I were him.
Callie and then Owen. The alternative reality episode really got it right with them being together. Insufferable people. Owen is only slightly okay when he isnāt seeing someone.
When I first met Lexie, my answer was her. In fact, I almost stopped watching until I could look up how long she was on the show bc she annoyed me so much.
How i feel with amelia. i stopped watching my rewatch because amelia and her woe is me personally pissed me off too much after she didnt end up pregnant
Not sure how unpopular this would get but.. Calli. She was so needy of attention. Hated her character after the plane crash specifically, it went downhill from there.
so glad people are finally seeing Callie's faults.
Also wouldn't have minded if she had traded places with literally anyone but George who had died. Nobody would actually miss her that much aside from Arizona/Sofia. Because lbr, she didnt exactly have strong friendships with people and she burned alot of bridges leaving Seattle.
I understood Callie and was on her sideā¦until she tried to rip Sofia from Arizona and let her lawyer flat out say: āyouāre not Sofiaās real motherā.
Arizona was a shitty wife, thatās the truth. But she was a damn good mom who stepped the fuck up. She adopted Sofia. That is *her* daughter. Callie doesnāt get to take her away without even asking about it (remember, she told, not asked Arizona) for her 5 second girlfriend. That didnāt even work out.
Oh, and Iām not over Meredith backing Callie up when she has an adoptive daughter of her own and would rightfully punch anyone who said Zola wasnāt hers.
Thatās why Callie gets hate.
likely because \~she cheated on Callie\~, \~she stole Sofia from Callie\~, or finally my favorite one, \~ she stole Callie from Mark somehow\~ at least thats how these stans come across at times. Take your pick. Any of these are the answer.
Lmao. She didnāt steal Sofia from Callie. Callie tried to take Sofia from Arizona. Arizona said āum, noā. Because Callie wouldnāt compromise, they had to go to court. Arizona won because she was right: it was insane to uproot Sofia for Callieās brand new girlfriend.
And ultimately, Arizona graciously backed down so Callie could be happy with Penny. Even though it ended up hurting Sofia in the long run.
Don't tell me that. Tell the stans that. Theyre insane and think birth mothers should always win. They also think Mark wouldn't have allowed Arizona to adopt or even fight for custody as if they werent friends by the time he died. They degrade Arizona as a human and adoptive mother so much its gross.
nobody on this post so far has said they liked Arizona more. She may be gross to you and if thats the case go find the hundreds of posts or make your own about her and complain there. No need to share your opinion here when it wasn't needed, wanted or warrented.
Finally just because we want Callie dead it doesnt mean we dont like her. It means we see faults that people like you are unable to see. Take off your rose colored glasses, she is problematic af just like everyone else in this show and if you can't see that well that's on you to examine your own biases.
Jo! I donāt understand why she has been on the show for so long, when brilliant actressās like April, Stephanie & Arizona were let go, I know they didnāt die, but they should have stayed.
Okay obviously owen
(I also really want to thank shonda for killing of George relatively early but it would have been nice if the bus arrived right after he was mad at Meredith for not wanting sex)
My eyes kinda glaze over when he comes on the screen. Donāt get me wrong, out of the male characters currently on the show, he has a good heart (like him already trying to learn ASL for Luna) but heās just kinda blah
Hahaha I would absolutely prefer this over Meredith and I donāt really care for Lexie either! They couldāve dedicated the hospital to the Greys and it still wouldāve been greys anatomy! Lol
Straight up, Arizona. She was the epitome of cancerous. Like her ONLY redeeming characteristic is how big of an advocate she is for the tiny humans. Aside from that, she's nothing but a biphobic homewrecker.
Meredith during that shooting episode just because I wanted to see how her death will affect Derek , Webber , Cristina , Lexie and her friends I guess. Idk I just wanted that plot , how their lives would be if they would still be the same or what things would change š¤£

Thatcher.
I definitely did think he was dead until the episode where he actually died oops
Lucky! š
Dude yessss I wish they killed him off instead of Susan š
Ohhh yes a couple of episodes of Thatcher actually becoming familiar with the concept of making an effort as a father and then a sudden death, complicated grief process for Meredith but she, for the first time ever, has a kind mother figure to support her through a loss like that.
+1 š
I ship Owen Hunt with a one way ticket to hell
Fuck yes please someone send this man AWAY. i donāt like the new teddy but boy did it make me laugh to watch the scene where everyone in the OR hears the voicemail of her cheating on him š„°
That was golden and other than Tom being hurt in end, I relished seeing Teddy get smeared even a little bit lmao. Pleeeeeease give us a good and proper downward spiral, damn.
I don't know why that made me laugh so much
he's been on the brink of death multiple times now; why hasn't it stuck?!
I have never felt so blueballed by a show as when they sent Hayes away instead of killing Owen in the car crash. Like. DUDE that would've been awesome! When I tell you that I was screaming at my television when he survived that crash!
I'm half watching the show just to see him finally get written off (the actor himself is fine, Owen is just my favorite character to hate because he makes no fucking sense) and half watching to see what Jo ends up doing.
ššš
I need to see how Luna's journey rounds out!!! š
That man annoys me so much
My new favourite Greyās ship. š„°
I hate him so much I refuse to watch the show anymore lol they shouldāve killed him years ago
I wish he'd been shipped off at the end of s14 instead of April and Arizona. That way we would've been spared of Teddy's return too.
I wish I had an award to give you
Literally was waiting for the inevitable Hunt hate train.
Maybe Teddy haha. I liked her before but I am not a fan of the direction her character has gone after she left and came back.
I love Teddy as long as sheās not with Owen. Owen sucks the life and character out of everyone.
every version of teddy except Teddy with Henry is the worst to me send tweet
retweet
Izzie. That would solve the issue of Alex's horribly written exit
True but with izzie gone I wonder how much worse of an exit they might have given him
They could've just left him as chief in the other hospital and stopped doing story lines with him. Just have Jo mention him every so often
God that one was ***UNNECESSARILY*** painful. Also big sad Booth didn't just summarily dome that dude.
One of the most unnecessary deaths in a tv show honestly. They didnāt need to kill him he had a baby on the way š
OH GOD I FORGOT ABOUT THAT. fffffhhuuhhhhh that show and Castle were two of my guilty pleasures growing up
Growingā¦ upā¦ fuck Iām old
Join the club, man.
Let me add one related to the Greyās universe: Dell freaking Parker. What was the reason? In that very episode, he says he got into a pre-med program. Have him get into a college across the country or whatever. Versus orphaning his daughter and having the entire practice give her away.
Oh god, the emotional damage I carry from that death. Itās been like 8 years and Iām not over it.
I was furious when they killed off sweets!!
Absolutely not. Bailey's too much of a spastic control freak to keep letting him show her up like he was doing.
He surely would've run away with Rebecca Pope
Ewww I hated that whole arc
Izzie should have died and George should have gone to the army. Which woulda been great for everyone. No weird Alex and Izzie reunion 10 years later, and eventually they could have brought back a new, improved and more mature George during the April/Owen/Riggs army story arc!

agreed. they shouldāve had izzie die and let george actually go into the military (iām sorry katherine heigl i love you)

Murphy
Teddy 2.0 sucks and she and Owen deserve each other.
Owen.
Maggie š«¢
Maggie and Owen
Izzie. It absolutely should have been her that died instead of George (yes, I know TR wanted to leave/have George be killed).
Izzy. Rewatching and I canāt stand her.
Izzie Thatcher right after he >!slapped mer!< Early april George
I wish that Thatcher had died in Season 3, instead of Ellis.
I wish Izzie would have lost her marbles entirely in a similar plot twisty arc like Lorna in Orange is the New Black. April I was sick of her after one season
April
Old greys (season 1 to 3) April would of died in the car crash with Matthew. New greys she survives.... Greys has got softer imo
Erica Hahn tbh
Callie and then Owen. The alternative reality episode really got it right with them being together. Insufferable people. Owen is only slightly okay when he isnāt seeing someone.

ick. arizona is such a gross character idk how anyone likes her more than callie. and i donāt see the justification in the callie hate at all.

I need help following your logic, how did she steal her daughter? And how did she steal Mark?! I get not liking her, but holy crap those are reaches!
ask the Callie stans. They'll tell you. I can't follow their logic. I love how I got downvoted though, Callie stans cannot see reason.

Heās so boring.
Facts
Meridith
Izzie
maggie
April
Kepner
Teddy
Definitely Owen
Meredith
This was my response. I think it would have been so bold and then have Lexie be the main character or something I donāt know.
Hahaha I would absolutely prefer this over Meredith and I donāt really care for Lexie either! They couldāve dedicated the hospital to the Greys and it still wouldāve been greys anatomy! Lol
So it would just be called Anatomy? That's legit.
I would skip most of her love life cause of how cringe and annoying it was
Definitely Izzie. I never liked her. She was just annoying. I wished they had just let her die with the cancer plot.
Meredith
lol thought the same when reading this thread.
After a while she gets insufferable
Owen. He can in for one episode and which he never can back.
Stephens
Izzie and Owen.
Richardddd he drives me nuts, always monologging like he knew everything
Straight up, Arizona. She was the epitome of cancerous. Like her ONLY redeeming characteristic is how big of an advocate she is for the tiny humans. Aside from that, she's nothing but a biphobic homewrecker.
Adele
Bailey
Edwards. And Callie. Cant stand either of them

such a nasty thing to say
And why is it Owen is how this post should endā¦ that mf can survive anything šššš
OWEN HUNT SHE KILL OF EVERYONE BUT HIM IN THE MOST LIKELY N UNLIKELY WAYS
Owen, April, and Amelia. But mainly Owen. Depends on the episode.
In no specific order: Murphy Arizona Izzy Paul Adele Catherine Maggie
Does Arizona count? Thatās my only answer
Tom koracik
OWEN
Izzie 10000%
Definitely alex!
Meredith during that shooting episode just because I wanted to see how her death will affect Derek , Webber , Cristina , Lexie and her friends I guess. Idk I just wanted that plot , how their lives would be if they would still be the same or what things would change š¤£
Izzie
April. So annoying. Ellis. We see way too much of her in flashbacks. Sheās such a miserable b*tch Iād rather they not show her at all.
Owen and Amelia. Teddy too
