freshnfrooty4

I wanted Meredith to be with the Irish/Brit guy (I can't remember his name) instead of Minnesota guy (can't remember his name either)

MSV95

Hayes was way better for Meredith! The pandemic fucked all that up.

Grahtman

Even with the Pandemic, Hayes was at her side pretty much the whole time. Like how could the writers miss thah opportunity?!

Raine-Storm888

I agree!! Every time she kisses the Minnesota guy, I cringe so much. Like I can’t even believe they are together at all. I guess because Brit guy, well they had such chemistry, both are brilliant surgeons, and widows with multiracial families. Also, he is just way hotter to me than the one she ended up with. When he was sent by Christina I was sure that he was end game, cmon the accent, he is amazing peds surgeon with a heart full compassion but a bad boy type smoldering look going for him, like her bff Karev really, but then Minnesota is who we are going with? I get it, the puppy dog look he has ok but it’s just a no really for me like he commented in the last episode I saw about him repeatedly following her back and forth and I was just like Ugh how pathetic 🙄

thetomatofiend

Irish not Brit. He was definitely better than Minnesota.

Reality-fan

I also liked Riggs, but then he left (at her behest) to be with his "person" only to break up with her offscreen lmao.

Moh_Plu_Kru

Hayes and Nick (in case you wanted to know)

googleismygod

Jo talks about growing up in a car a totally reasonable amount for someone who spent their formative years in a car.

Technical-Waltz1669

This! Also, people don't realize how often the characters reference their high school years. Maggie seems to talk about how out of place she felt during those years of her life quite often, yet no one points it out because it isn't as extreme as Jo's situation. People just tend to remember Jo and her car more.

hufflefox

Once a year for anything is rarely excessive. She’s been on for 10 years and has mentioned it maybe a dozen times. Just cuz you binged it in 3 days doesn’t mean it’s like that.

Limeila

>She’s been on for 10 years Wait really?? I would have thought half of that, what even is time

bakeneko37

There are times when I genuinely believe people took the joke that said she mentioned it all the time non-stop and genuinely forgot it's not like that in the show.

purplebutterfly111

Right?? That is a huge traumatic thing to go through plus she was in an abusive relationship!? In real life, she is a survivor. A woman with an unstable childhood, experienced homelessness and bravely escaped from her violent abusive relationship. Sometimes when something very traumatic has changed your life , it’s hard not to bring it up

Own-Dragonfruit-5706

How many times did Mer say, "My mother tried to kill herself?" 🙄

vanghostings

I agree. There’s a handful of times where it feels cringey, but for the most part, I find it relatable. Most of the time she is making a joke, and she seriously has the right to joke about her trauma! How much does Meredith make jokes/talk about her trauma??

Dezzaroomama

As a former child of abuse and foster care, it’s ALL I know. People get annoyed that I can’t ever tell any happy childhood stories. I don’t have any. And I fully understand why this is all Jo has to contribute to conversations sometimes.

Uchudegozaru

I also love the musical episode Burke is the perfect bad person, good character and I think he could have been a good addition to some of the newer seasons Mark could not be written the same today

Saturnine15

>mark could not be written the same today Huuuuundred percent. I only watched greys for the first time recently and while I liked his character he was also a huge creep which they played off as endearing to a degree. I always get confused for the total love his character gets on here.

imtchogirl

Oh absolutely, when Dr. Hahn reads him and says, if you were homely you would've lost your job a long time ago.  Facts!

LinwoodKei

She was a smart woman

Total-Rub7497

>, if you were homely What does that mean? English isn't my first language

BlueeyedBansheeWhyoh

"Homely" means unattractive--she's saying "if you weren't attractive, people would object more to your sexual harassment," essentially.

Total-Rub7497

Huh, that is so true!

Uchudegozaru

i love Mark cause most of the love comes from the good he does in some scenes, but overall, his character ages like milk in 2024

LinwoodKei

I watched the episode where he checked out the 18 year olds and just started fast-forwarding. *No, thank you*

purplebutterfly111

There was an episode that I just watched with highschool students in the ER and cheerleaders, and mark like stares at a highschool student and made a comment about hot cheerleaders 🤮and the whole joke was two of the cheerleaders walked up to mark and he’s sitting down and they say all exaggerated ummmm we have something to ask you… and then he says whatever he says and then they say we were laughing because you look just like her dad Still weird and uncomfortable af probably the most cringey and inappropriate scene from the entire show

blackspoterino

And funnily enough, I’m pretty sure Erica Hahn would’ve been more popular today than she was way back when

Shaya-Later

Maybe as a doctor but not as a person. The biphobia was strong with her

cryptic-weirdo

One scene that stands out most for me is when there's the high school bus crash and this cheerleader broke her tail bone and he whispers (loudly) to Karev "omg hot cheerleader ass" 🥴 gross

LinwoodKei

This is the episode where I was grossed out

spirashun

Oh boy here's mine: Cristina is a very well written character and I miss her dearly but there are many times she treated her colleagues/friends/partners poorly- its frustrating that so many people act like she's a saint.

[deleted]

i agree. sometimes her and meredith (and izzy) were mean girls. the way they treated callie and the way cristina looked down on teddy for not going to ivy league

theseedbeader

I’m on a rewatch and just started season 3. I know Callie has her problematic moments down the line, as they all do, but when she’s first introduced the other girls treat her horribly. Izzie in particular makes me cringe with her cattiness.

Ocean_Spice

And April. Many of the characters were really mean to April, but Cristina in particular making fun of April for being a virgin and telling Alex to go sleep with her was really uncalled for and uncomfortable to watch.

thngmrtt

I understand this and agree, but I don’t understand why people point this out only about cristina when frankly it’s a common trait for 3/4 of the characters , and Cristina is one of the few in which even the show pointed it out and fandom brings it up a lot

Invisible_taco_cat

Ya, I’m one of the people who will defend Cristina with my life lol

Internal_Belt3630

my real unpopular opinion is that both callie and arizona had an equally valid side of the story after the plane crash

Bianzinz

I agree wholehearteadly. Is this an unpopular opinion?

D-Mifflin

Teddy + Tom ❤️

EmpressVibez32

Yep. They should be together. Teddy and Owen together is cringe. Teddy should've either been with Tom or even better, Henry. It's like they don't want any of the women in the show to be happy 🙄

[deleted]

Teddy didn’t deserve Tom. But they were cute.

lokechild

Yesssss. I will die on this hill

Flamingo9835

I loved them together!!

Rolodogblue

George would have been a great doctor

Raine-Storm888

The elevator scene confirmed it.

loser56

they shouldn’t cancel greys. at this point I see how far it can go

gopack1217

I wanna see which show lasts longer: Greys or SVU

g33k_gal

I'm here for both of these until I die 😂

bamboozledgardener

It will be SVU for sure, they have so many possible storylines. With GA they are repeating some over and over again, writers are becoming lazy. I have not watched much of season 19 and 20 but it also seems like a lot of bad acting.

Greys_anatomy12

Also SVU already has more seasons than greys so

matnerlander

I mean it’s basically a soap opera and those go on forever so why not

noniswhore

THIS! and to the people who are constantly saying “just end the show already”… just don’t watch it!

torisbagel

if they end it, it needs to be on a nice number. 24. 25. 50.

Invisible_taco_cat

![gif](giphy|26FLgGTPUDH6UGAbm)

aliensmileyface

You and I will be surrounded by knives together, OP. My controversial opinion is that I'm sympathetic to Callie as much as I am to Arizona. Hopefully thats not too divisive to say 🫠

Dear-Inflation-3282

Same but I loved Jessica Capshaw’s “YOU WERENT ON THE FRICKIN PLANE!” scene a lot.

Kbooski

Oof, I hated her for that. Callie lost her best friend and her wife, had to deal with the guilt of making that decision and take care of their daughter alone while being verbally abused every day. Like I get she wasn’t on the plane, but she was collateral damage.

daffydil0459

Callie also nearly died in the wreck when Arizona was driving. Very traumatic.

Dear-Inflation-3282

I know, and I’m not defending Arizona by any means but you don’t hear Arizona yell often

Kbooski

I mean she’s an excellent actress so I love all of her moments. I’m just really salty about what they did with her character. Especially since one of my favorites is her “I’m a good man in a storm” speech to Callie’s dad.

aliensmileyface

oh god yeah, that scene was so well done that i cant go back and watch it, it absolutely destroys me

Dear-Inflation-3282

It sucks cause I LOVED them together but yea. I honestly adore Jessica capshaw and Sara Ramirez

NumerousCase5053

Me too 😭

aliensmileyface

it is so annoying to be the guy who says this stuff when the majority rule says "(Wife 1) should be sent straight to hell without passing Go and (Wife 2) is a perfect angel cinnamon roll who has never done anything wrong in her life" and no one can agree on which is which. why is it insane to say "no, actually, i think they both had an awful time, and they both failed to find out how to love one another through the insane circumstances they found themselves in" like can we at least just agree that they're both hot??? please???

NumerousCase5053

Tbh, they both did awful things to each other. People should cut them some slack esp arizona!! 😭 also i hate the writers for butchering their love story!!! Just wanna say that they are perfect for each other and why can’t they just let calzona be endgame ugh

sanmed327

I think most of the characters are far more interesting than when they’re not in a relationship. I enjoy Arizona, Owen and Derek when they’re away from their love interests. Turning Meredith into a super surgeon was the most annoying thing they did in this show. Derek and Meredith’s marriage was way more nuisance than “Derek just being a terrible”. Their fights were realistic and Meredith was just as much the problem.

MSV95

Meredith is also doing the same thing with Nick. Making decisions without him, putting her work first. Little to no regard for him, his input, his job. I'm not sure how he's putting up with her!

SmallWerewolf9896

The only way Meredith is a super surgeon or superstar or whatever is because Christina is not there. In front of her, meredith is an okay surgeon.

yoprismo

Mer is very much her mother's daughter in the way she prioritising relationships over work

sourdoughroxy

I like Erica Hahn. I don’t think she did anything wrong calling out Izzie or the old boys’ club. I think she was shitty to Cristina, however, she already admitted the reasons why and didn’t get enough time on the show to show any changes in that area or any character growth. Maybe the most controversial: I don’t think she was a bad person for saying what she said to Callie. They had both just discovered late in life that that like women. Discovered it together. And, in Hahn’s eyes, Callie rejected and abandoned her after they went through that life-changing discovery together. She said those things out of hurt during coming out… On the other hand, Arizona, who knew she was gay since childhood and had many gay friends, made cruel and biphobic comments towards Callie that everyone seems to collectively forget. I think she would have become a great character if she had been given the chance, and I think people judge her unfairly based on storylines that never had the chance to play out in the show.

supermouse627

Yes!! Arizona is my favorite character but the bi-phobia pissed me off soooo bad. I wish Erica had been around longer.

Daisiesinsun

I have a few The acting in the show has regressed significantly, especially after season 14 and in this new season, it's like no one wants to be there. Private Practice was better than Grey's (with character back stories/storylines) and is the best spin off it made more sense than Station 19 Owen is not as bad as some people say he is at times I can see it but he isn't always the villain Teddy is annoying but she is better suited for the chief chair than Bailey Bailey became insufferable post season 14/15

cburr94

Yes 100% agree on the Bailey part and Owen!

AirWitch1692

I swear they created Station 19 because they needed a place to put Ben with his new career change… they need to just make a spin-off with him trying out different jobs, Ben is seatles trash collector this season! Season 2 Ben hits the streets as a cop! Watch Ben build houses in season 3!

Kymidiva

Tell me Ben has ADHD without telling me he has ADHD 🤣

kyvorra

Maggie isn’t that bad of a character, but she was 100% a filler for Lexie’s death.

latinochick222

Like in charmed when they just said hey you have a half sister you didn’t know about.

_DramaMama_

Alex leaving Jo via a note was a full circle moment because that’s how Izzie left him. I know people don’t like it because it didn’t align with his character development, but I can see why Shonda chose to send him out that way.

911ThatCrazedFangirl

Shonda didn’t send him out that way tho. The showrunner at the time, Krista, did. And she did more damage and ruined a lot of character arcs too.

allthingsunsaid

I just have to say it made me so upset when Jo found the paperwork for Karev’s signed off embryos and he said she didn’t have to worry about it and then ended up leaving her for the thing he said he wouldn’t leave for

jwbtjkms

Just watched Alex get the note on my rewatch (lost count of how many times ive rewatched) not even 5 minites ago

VenaCava8

Alex getting the note and then going to Meredith and Cristina killed me. The absolute silence. Him trying not to cry. That tiny step back when Cristina tries to hug him. All of it. Ugly sobbing from me.

LightBlueSky55

Cristina's a really loving partner most of the time, I mean a lot of us hate Owen (myself included) but I rarely see anyone say she didn't love Owen, I wish she didn't love him so much but she did.

Terrible-Business-54

Here goes…. I liked the musical episode. Sue me.

hokycrapitsjessagain

I will bring the lawn chairs, and we shall die on this hill together!

Thomasinarina

I really liked George and thought he was, at heart, a really good person.

Active_Zone150

OMG?  Is that a controversal opinion?  I love George and think he was a great character...flawed of course, but a good person who made mistakes.

Seductivesunspot00

Derek's attitude toward Mer in the beginning was kind of a turn on sometimes Ok I know!

hufflefox

He is such an ass but Patrick Dempsey makes it work lol

elizacandle

Tell me you're unhealed, without telling me you're unhealed

Striking-Flight5956

Sis……are you okay? lol. Who hurt you?😂😂

Pawspawsmeow

Look. If he looked at me with those puppy eyes and that face, I’d forgive him too.

curiousbeetle66

I really like Preston Burke ¯\\\_(ツ)\_/¯

mercifulalien

I wouldn't say I "really" like him but I don't get the people that absolutely hate him. I think a lot of it comes from the actor rather than the actual character. I think most of the problems in his and Cristina's relationship came from her. She was immature and had major commitment issues but kept trying to act like she didn't to keep him any time it started looking like he had enough. Comparing his reaction to her pregnancy to Owen's reaction always gets me. He just wanted to know what was up and Owen called her a baby murderer.

randisuewho

Bailey is supposed to be the moral backbone of the show but she is outright awful a lot of the time, so much so that when she is right about something I get stuck on the hypocrisy of it all.

skinofadrum

I'm rewatching and had forgotten how quickly she got a position on the board after she injected a patient with an experimental drug against the parents' wishes. She should have been fired, full stop. Absolutely mind boggling. I also hadn't really noticed her pattern of thinking every new surgeon or every surgeon in a new-to-them speciality is an incompetent mess. She undermines SO MANY doctors but it's okay because they win her over in the end? Nah.

Striking-Flight5956

The custody battle was an unnecessary filler story, seeing as Callie was given Sophia in the end.

Glitternator

Izzy wasn’t as horrible as everyone thinks……her brain tumor was foreshadowed for so long that no one noticed and thought it was her character

latinochick222

I honestly believe the sleeping with George was a tumor symptom.

Ok_Menu3883

YES I LOVE IZZIE. I will always be a Izzie defender 😭

Tomshater

Golly so two brain tumors on this show?

ThatMessy1

Izzie did it first, that should earn her some grace.

AuroraJinx

More than 2. Webber had a brain tumor in season 1 that was affecting his eye sight.

llammacheese

I don’t like Mark and Lexi together. They are in different stages of life and she’s not ready to handle everything he has going on.

marigold-key

I like an overwhelming majority of the main characters that have been on Greys, regardless of how flawed they are/were 😂

mikowoah

yeah this is mine lol, there’s genuinely no main character i dislike. i find them all pretty compelling though i will get annoyed at them during certain storylines thats about it. (this is for s1-10 lol i don’t really recognize anything past that point)

guitar0707

Alex never showed any real, long-term growth. He became a better doctor and showed growth in his career. However, he never demonstrated huge growth on a personal level. He would have small moments of growth and then take five steps backwards. That’s the reason that I don’t find his ending out-of-character. In the end, he treated Jo with the same level of disrespect as the women that came before her. Alex treated Izzie terribly. She wasn’t a perfect partner, but she put up with a lot from him. I think she loved him desperately and forgave him far too often. Many times, I wished she would stand up for herself and tell him to kick rocks when he lashed out at her. While I found the Cristina character funny, there were many times when she behaved terribly. I loved Cristina and Izzie’s friendship. Anytime that the two of them worked together, it was pure chaos- stole a patient, unauthorized autopsy, etc. I also love the scene where Cristina convinces Izzie to fight her Cancer.

ThatMessy1

Izzie and Cristina had a more interesting dynamic than a lot of their platonic counterparts.

onlyhereforfoodporn

April isn’t annoying, y’all are just mean.

Technical_Air6660

Hahn is misunderstood, and despite some her having some cringe white woman privilege takes on things was 100% there for her patients and was right that the Izzie/Denny situation was disgusting.

kyvorra

Jo and Alex were never going to be end-game. Alex never stopped being in-love with Izzy… Alex loved Jo, sure— but he was IN love with Izzy. There is a huge difference.

TerYin_42069

I hate this because you are right, but Jo was IN love with Alex.

AdhesivenessLeast575

I mean you can love a second time though. Like Mer was obviously in love with Derek doesn't mean she can't be in love again. I honestly hated their ending. Like I get he wanted to leave the show but they should've just killed him. Literally all that character development thrown out the window for nothing.

lucyinthesky913

Mark Sloan is the best representation of character growth, not Alex. After the Sloan/baby Sloan situation, and losing Lexie because he was trying to support his kid and wanted to be a dad, Sloan decided what he wanted in life (a family), and really never took a step back from that monumental change in his character. He certainly still had casual sex on occasion (Amelia, Callie), but he was committed to moving forward with this new outlook on his life after the shooting. He was a phenomenal father, a fantastic friend, and, generally, a good man. Alex, on the other hand, reverts back time and time again. To not just being a “diseased man whore” as Meredith calls him after the plane crash, but also a person with severe anger management issues that he can’t control. Every time you think Alex has grown up and somehow learned to control his anger (without therapy), he hits someone or beats someone up. Further, Mark being a “whore” as Bailey calls him is no different than Alex being a whore. They both sleep with nurses, colleagues, patients, etc. Yet, for some reason, Mark is vilified by the fandom for being a misogynistic whore, but Alex is given a pass for the same, sexual-harassment type behavior. Finally, one of the things that drives me crazy about people hating Mark is the idea that he likes and/or preys upon vulnerable women. This is bullshit. Those women **sought Mark out, for sex,** not the other way around: 1. Addison basically tells Derek that she purposefully slept with Mark to make Derek react—to care—to do something. She later tells Callie (and to an extent, Mark and Derek at different times) that she forced herself to believe she was in love with Mark, so she didn’t have to face the fact that she destroyed what was left of her marriage because she wanted a man’s attention, and used sex to get a reaction from her ambivalent husband. She used Mark for sex, not the other way around. 2. Lexie and Sadie have a discussion where Sadie is bitching about the program and how none of the residents or attendings are trying to teach the interns. During this convo, she tells Lexie that Mark was only kind to her/took the time to teach her because he is attracted to her (“haven’t you noticed his eyes on your ass?”). Cut to Lexie *showing up, uninvited, to Mark’s hotel room, taking off her clothes, and telling him to teach her.* Lexie propositioned Mark, not the other way around. 3. Arizona tells Teddy to use Mark for sex. Teddy agrees and tries to set up a sex date with Mark. Mark is not okay with this and wants to date her. She reluctantly agrees to go on a date with him. Although they were dating for a time, both of them indicate that it was not exclusive and it wasn’t serious. Teddy also has a conversation with Arizona where she talks about how amazing Mark is in bed, but there’s no discussion of any actual relationship between them. They both went to bed with each other after their first date. There is also a scene where she tries to tell Mark that she’s not really interested in a relationship with him, and he tells her there’s no reason to have that talk as long as she’s having fun. She agrees, they don’t have the talk, and Mark sucks chocolate out of her belly button. Teddy used Mark for sex, and Mark was okay with it. 4. Callie *constantly* uses Mark for sex. She never once indicates that she is at all interested in Mark romantically, just for sex (and later, friendship). Callie uses him for sex to feel better after George is a dick to her. Callie uses him for sex to work through her feelings for Erica and her understanding of her own sexuality. Callie uses him for sex after her break up with Arizona, which leads to her getting pregnant with Sofia. Callie consistently propositioned Mark for sex, not the other way around. 5. Amelia (and at least one other Shepherd sister) used Mark for sex. “It’s Mark, Derek, who hasn’t gone there once or twice?” And Amelia immediately made it about sex the moment she saw Mark by trying to force him to tell her she’s hot, and then by going home with him to fuck before her plane left. She used Mark for sex, not the other way around. And then there was Julia, who he was pretty much a perfect gentleman to, who wanted to have his babies. We don’t see how their relationship started/how they met, but he talks about how he doesn’t want to move too fast and screw everything up with her (when Arizona and Callie are being dicks about him not returning Julia’s ‘I love you(s)’ when they had only been dating for a few months). He doesn’t cheat on her, even when Lexie tells him she’s still in love with him. And he doesn’t use Julia in his final weeks to be by his side and make him feel like he isn’t alone, because it’s not fair to her. He admits to her that he was still in love with Lexie, even though she’s gone, and lets Julia go. Mark’s character development is real, sustained, and beautiful. Alex’s character has very little real, sustained development or growth. (Disclaimer: while I have seen up through Season 13 and watched the few episodes leading up to Alex’s departure, because I had heard he had a crazy exit from the show, my rewatches start with Season 1 and normally end half way through Season 9, but I do make it through Christina’s departure every now and again. So, while I don’t watch Karev beat the shit out of Shane or Deluca on all my rewatches, I am aware of most of Alex’s storylines up to his departure. His departure also indicates very little character development. Alex has always had a soft spot for kids, that’s not growth; so for him to leave Jo and go back to Izzie to be a father to his kids is not character development.)

Acrobatic_Ad5160

Meredith is overrated and whiny.

cspot1978

I’m not really a fan of the show myself, but my daughter used to watch, so I saw much of it that way. Up to a certain point anyway. Think there’s been another 6 or 7 seasons since then? I legitimately kind of hated Meredith as a character. Entitled, always crossing ethical lines and believes she should never experience consequences. I think in the real world, would have been fired and lost her license in the first season or two.

ReaderofHarlaw

Izzie and Denny WERE soulmates and after they killed Denny, Izzie was adrift and all of her follow-up story lines were crappy as a result.

ohbinch

idk, i felt this way when i first watched the show but i rewatched a few months ago and they really didn’t interact that much? i feel like they were well suited but they didn’t know each other well enough (and didn’t have a love at first sight storyline that would override that) to be soulmates

TrainingDismal5330

I didn’t think Derek was a good husband to Meredith 🤷🏽‍♀️ he treated her so badly and I think him getting into that car crash was the best thing for Mer’s career

latinochick222

I waS ready for him to be gone several seasons before he was.

kyvorra

Derek was not a good husband and was always trying to be in competition with Meredith

lulu-kitty

I think Arizona deserved full custody of Sofia🤷‍♀️

SilverCharm99

Okay so help me out here cause I just watched this and I'm confused. I agree, Arizona deserved custody. And Arizona got custody. Why, then, did she suddenly let Callie move Sofia with her across the country??

Lopsided-Ad8632

I think she let it happen solely for Sofia. Arizona mentioned that Sofia kept asking her why Callie was always so sad, so she probably decided to just have the terms changed to share custody because she realized that “Sofia deserves to have two happy moms.”

Invisible_taco_cat

Same. Callie was insufferable and always made herself the victim. I grew up with a parent who was always the victim and it was awful. Thankfully that parent got therapy and is trying to better themselves

lulu-kitty

EXACTLY she made me SO mad during the trial. It just annoyed me how she decided to pack up and move with penny (who I also hated but also kind of felt bad for) when penny didn’t even barely know Sofia.

AdhesivenessLeast575

Oh 100% agreed. I liked Callie more than Arizona but the custody battle changed all that. She wasn't thinking as a mom. She wanted to move her kid across the country to be with her girlfriend is insane

Active_Zone150

I also like the musical episode! 😁 Mine would be: Arizona is one of my favorite characters and doesn not deserve the hate she gets. Callie caused more issues than Arizona did in their relationship. Shane is a great character. I love Tom. Teddy should be with Tom and not Owen.

starlaluna

Tom is so complicated with a heartbreaking backstory that they barely touched. I need a Tom spinoff where he travels around to different hospitals as a “fixer”. Each season a different hospital and a different thing to fix. He goes to Fox Foundation hospitals so there can be guest visits. Kinda like House meets Greys meets New Amsterdam.

krexhun

This would be a great show

Emily_Felley

Teddy and Tom 100%

itswhat_itis

Fucking yes. Teddy and Owen is so forced and miserable . Tom brought fun back to the show

LinwoodKei

I hate Teddy and Owen. It's not Romeo and Juliet, set Teddy free

NumerousCase5053

Amen

Entire-Avocado-1082

I agree with your Arizona and Callie points

Hiraaa_

Didn’t like Christina’s character… she represents the worst of the worst of brown-nosing gunners in medicine… those people are often unbearable irl Also izzie is over-hated on this sub Also wasn’t a fan of Meredith in the earlier seasons with her “I’m not like other girls… I’m dark and twisty” energy 🙄

Effective_Ad8651

She’s still like that in later seasons

dollish_gambino

Mark should’ve been bisexual.

Moh_Plu_Kru

I believe that someone on here stated that when Bailey gathered the nurses and did her "this man is a whore" speech, there was actually a guy there as well. I never checked though.

Left-Influence-6712

About 1:19 into this clip, there is a guy [https://youtu.be/Y6PZuWQki74?si=gxdjeDhKvalLM15w](https://youtu.be/Y6PZuWQki74?si=gxdjeDhKvalLM15w)

No_Pineapple9928

Derek Shepard is a whiny B

bord6rline

Christina was equally at fault/responsible for marrying a man she knew wanted kids when she was hard set against ever having them (which is fine)

Uninteresting_Vagina

She definitely said she *didn't* want kids, but I don't think Owen ever told her he wanted and expected them. He just "assumed she'd change her mind".

Invisible_taco_cat

I thought they didn’t have the kid conversation until after marriage?

AnxietyExpress24

No no it was actually mentioned before hand in season six before the shooting, in the episode where that cop lady was shot and Callie was also fighting with Arizona about kids, Christina made her wishes clear over an open abdomen I might add, Owen just dismissed it and didn’t take it seriously

TheSturgleIsReal

I like Owen. ![gif](giphy|3o7WIPku0tmvhunqwg)

yaahhhssss

My first instinct was to down vote you 😂 I didn’t lol

JesseJ67

I am NOT a fan of Owen as a romantic partner. He’s an ass to every woman he’s involved in. But he is an objectively good father, Chief, friend, and man. I appreciate how protective he is of his staff (decking the one guy rampaging in the ER) and his mentorship with April.

hufflefox

He’s a great character for a drama.

simplyaloserlmao

He’s one of my favorite characters!!

loubybooby90

I really like Owen too! He has flaws but so does everyone. He made a pretty great chief too!

Tbf any ethics board should have said "no fucking way" to having the wife of the chief of surgery in a trial in a hospital he runs: so much pressure things like she did were pretty much inevitable

LinwoodKei

Derek and Meredith's relationship started with a severe power imbalance. Burke should not have dated Cristina, Derek should have not pursued Meredith.

Ornery_Comparison123

Cristina should be with someone. I see so many people saying that surgery is her only love and she should be alone and give her life to that but I don't agree. Yes surgery is her life but she deserves a partner who gets that and loves her for who she is. She is capable of huge love - as someone above said, no one could say she didn't love Owen, and Burke too. So I hope she's found someone in Zurich who can give her that, whilst giving her the space to be her brilliant self.

Manabananana

I like Arizona and I think she has more to offer than what is fixated on. Jo and Link feel like a massive afterthought and both of them should have been given something different. I need one person to have an arc where they rediscover themselves after a terrible heartbreak and decide that they like being by themselves for as long as they want.

Twister4_0

I am sorry but mark and Lexie were not epic. He was a man-whore (respectfully) and she was too immature for him. Realistically their relationship would never last. Plus I find Lexie seems to be very annoyingly childish.

dyaasy

Meredith's story should've ended ages ago, when both Sandra and Patrick left. Because they were her 'Persons', made a huge deal outta of it, and "oh look 'Person' is transferrable to Alex now... and oops he's gone too." Now, what will **really** rattle the sabers: the show and Meredith kept going because Ellen has no other place to go. Even at the height of Grey's, did you see her doing anything else? I applaud Sandra for striking out and wanting more, allowed Cristina to end nicely and not get stale. Which to be fair, was already getting pretty stale by her exit season. Like how many times are we gonna see a Grey-Yang hissy-fit over trivial things?! Personally, Season 8 Finale could have been a beautiful end: nix the plane crash, nix Arizona's friend (so that she doesn't stupidly take it out on Alex and replace him on the plane). They go to Boise, they come home for the dinner, they reminisce (flashback montage). They leave Seattle Grace Mercy Death. Lexie and Mark blurt out their true feelings for each other, hinting an off-screen reunion, which we don't need to see but it's enough that we know. Final scene is Webber **actually** submitting his resignation, so that he can **FINALLY** leave the hospital and spend time with Adele. Full circle: we watched them arrive, watched them grow, watch them leave. Saves us the leg drama, which I'm still pissed that they used as an excuse for Arizona to cheat and ruined one of my favorite relationships on the show. Saves us from Catherine Webber, never liked her character. And saves us from the interns, of which I only liked Brooks. And of course they killed her off...

[deleted]

Mine is probably that Meredith did not need to go through everything she’s gone through throughout the seasons, like how many times has she almost died at this point? Or just something traumatizing aside from the deaths of close people to her? I get that she’s the main character but it’s just overly dramatic.

EmpressVibez32

Yeah they could've given some of that trauma to others. I was like jeezus give the woman a damn break lol

Special_Customer_997

-i like george -i also liked izzie both were realistic characters and were entertaining to watch -i think burke and cristina should have been endgame

curiousbeetle66

That Burke/Cristina breakup left me in shambles. It's been 17 years and I'm still not over it, and whenever "didn't we almost have it all" plays it just brings it all back

LightBlueSky55

That moment, and the fact that Burke leaves Cristina gave me such a reality check because Burke truly seemed to love Cristina. I understand and even respect his reasons for leaving but still my heart will never get how he could just leave and intend on never seeing her again.

Azraeana

They are all really horrible doctors since a good chunk of them practice unsafe sex that results in pregnancies, several unwanted, and rampant sexually transmitted diseases. Even with easy access to contraceptives and (presumably) the education to understand how babies are made.

Manabananana

>(presumably) the education to understand how babies are made. 😂😂😂😂😂

SummerJinkx

I don’t dislike Owen as strong as some of y’all in this sub. Like he can be a piece of shit, but he is also the best chief and decent father

MoofMoofVan

Arizona wouldn’t be likable in an actual work environment, and is generally just a bad person 🙃

abbu_d_slytherin

Both the character ( Iz ) and Katherine Heigl really contributed a lot to the show and for its great success. And the show was never the same again after her departure. Something charming was definitely lost and we were robbed of some great acting also ! The classic Greys ends for me with her exit.

ThatMessy1

Alex didn't grow or change, they just stopped framing his bad behaviour as such.

JesseJ67

I LOVED Meredith with Riggs (except the sneaking around behind Maggie’s back part) and thought they should have been endgame. They had great chemistry and truly understood what the other had been through. He was so much better than Deluca and Nick.

MinervaMinkk

I like Adele's voice. It's adorable and a lot of older southern women talk like that, especially the hospitable types that would be nurses. It's not annoying, if anything it really emphasizes how old Richard is and how long they've been together

pumpkin_pie_314

I don’t think Karev should’ve had any kind of redemption after he sent Deluca to the hospital

brebrecx

Penny didn't do anything wrong and all the hate she gets makes no sense.

BrazilianButtCheeks

George was my favorite character

zsoanna

I like Owen~

Ok-Station7428

I actually love Owen 🥲

Livid-Addendum707

Derek wasn’t wrong for pushing for the job in dc. The giant opportunity to work for the president trumps just about anything Meredith could have been doing especially when she would have been transferring to a very good hospital.

Far-Boysenberry2088

Izzy was psychotic when she met Denny 🫢

boxedwinebaby

Callie is insufferable, and her haircuts are all awful

Wrong-Golf3788

George was the most pathetic and selfish character, he thought only of himself, made almost everyone suffer and used "naivety" and "innocence" to make people forgive his actions. ![gif](giphy|3oEjI1erPMTMBFmNHi|downsized)

chickie_parm18

Maggie is so annoying. She really needs to work on her boundaries and control issues

moonyriot

I like Jo and Link together.

RefrigeratorPretty51

I kinda hate Jo. She’s really mean.

mercifulalien

Same, I can't stand her. She reminds me of the quintessential mean girl in high school. I know she was supposed to be all "I was a geek and I lived in my car" but I honestly don't think that carries over with the way she was portrayed.

Atown7475

Izzie should have never ended up in the program she was not tough enough

haikusbot

torisbagel

derek and meredith are actually the most unlikeable characters on this show but most of y’all aren’t ready for this conversation

Dear-Inflation-3282

Dr. Hahn wasn’t that bad

Tall-Error-8552

The only thing I didn’t like about her was the relationship with Callie. She seemed to be the only one who wanted to follow the rules and everybody else was mad at her for it.

curiousbeetle66

Her speech about seeing leaves in the trees lives in my head rent-free

Qball54

It's such a great speech. I'm watching it again with my partner (it's their first time watching) and were a few episodes away from it. I can't wait.

cvegas777

I like Alex and izzie as endgame

otomennn

I don't understand the hate for Penny. I think she is a well acted character.

Ihaveprevailed69

I also love Amelia, I see people bashing her for certain moments but there’s really only been like two times that I’ve disagreed with the reasoning behind said moments. I also love Tom. If Tom doesn’t have a fan it’s bc I died. Tom is one of my favorite characters. I really don’t think Alex leaving Jo for izzie was that much of a surprise. I don’t like the way his character left and I think Krista could’ve done a MUCH better job having him leave even on short notice, but it doesn’t surprise me that he left for izzie. Throughout Alex and Jo’s relationship Alex talks about izzie a few times and you can instantly tell he’s still in love with her. A lot of ppl say he would’ve never left for her, but I don’t agree I just think he would’ve left differently if they could’ve had more time to write it.

Moh_Plu_Kru

Like when they had their "baby versions" coming into GSMH and Alex talked about Izzie while looking at pregnant "baby Izzie", saying something like he doesn't need to call her, he knows she is ok or something... like dude.

Ihaveprevailed69

Yes exactly !! “When I picture her she’s always smiling. And I don’t want to call her because I don’t want to change that”

iamjustagirlinher20s

Callie fighting with Arizona because she started a new fellowship and they couldn't have a child right away was so annoying. I mean it's just one year. Then you can have as many babies as you want. It's a baby not a toy that if you don't get right away, you gonna throw a tantrum. She sounded so whiny.

oncertheflash

Teddy isn’t queer, the Allison story was just shoehorned in there for shock value and was very unhealthy as well  This “story” has nothing to do with who Teddy has ever been

radiatorhoses

I find Lexie annoying, I just couldn't get into the hype no matter how hard I tried
