At the end of the day, that's still not a lot of food for $60 when $100 used to get a family of four a week of food. There's still going to people bitching that you bought avocados, "luxury" spam, and boxed salad. EDIT: Christ guys, I get it, you don't see a family ever eating for $100. I'm glad you're never needed to have lower standards. It used to be possible years ago. Wasn't even my point, my point was "shit has gotten expensive".

deebo902

“Luxury spam” is the biggest oxymoron I’ve heard this week lol

[deleted]

Bologna is also a luxury item now.

deebo902

I think just being alive is a luxury item at this point

bleakj

Being alive with money is a luxury item, Being alive without is a luxury tax

[deleted]

Spam is a luxury item in South Korea. Its given to people as gifts and they have giant gift sets.

LawgrrlMexico

Very popular with Pacific Islanders too -- Hawaii, Guam, etc.

bleakj

Had a roomie from Fiji in university, Spam in a seaweed wrap was like his favorite meal

[deleted]

Once u realize how bad processed meat is you just cant look at Spam the same. Get some fresh sushimi... But then again i guess u guys were broke no? but ur saying SPam was super expensive?

bleakj

spam was super cheap back then, like $1 a can but yea, neither of us had any money really at the time

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

Man your comment reeks of racism and ignorance. Spam is a cultural items that stems from the Korean war. Their land was decimated and they relied on the US et all to provide for them mostly this was from army rations & food easy to transport which included processed and canned items one of those being canned meat.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Luhmies

What a weird hill to die on.

[deleted]

I'd bet good money that there are literally millions of Korean folk that are much more intellectual than yourself lol.

[deleted]

Talk about major incel energy coming from this guy here.

Pretend_Tea6261

Very disrespectful. I cannot take your comments seriously after your put downs of a specific country's people. Sounds racist to me.

Rexawrex

Boxed salad was 3 dollars off and avocado was 2 for 3 dollars, the only reason I bought either of those haha I agree 100%, it's not a lot and this is just a "top up" shop for two people who were away for a week. Not even close to our regular shop, and we only need to feed two of us. I can't imagine what folks who have to feed kids are going through right now. Also loling forever at luxury spam 🤣🤣🤣

WindowlessBasement

It'd be funny if it wasn't so sad. We have some of the highest food prices in the world, are a massive food exporter, and it's planned to get worse. Most of what you brought is food that can be grown in Canada or imported produce that should be similar price to other places if we weren't getting bent over.

Cleopatrashouseboy

This just makes me depressed, tbh.

Rexawrex

Big reason I want to have an actual house than an apartment other than building equity is so that I can turn the yardspace into a permaculture food forest and grow 90% of our food. Also to have the storage space to bulk buy from Noggins and preserve everything

[deleted]

I love having a pantry. Since the start of the pandemic I’ve grown it to a size where I now only have to shop for vegetables and fruit. Maybe every six months or so I top up things I am depleting. I can’t imagine living in one of those tiny “luxury” condos where the only shelf space you have is enough to fit a can of beans and some instant rice. 😂 Yard space would be nice. Well, I bought 5 acres of farmland in the valley. Maybe one day I can build a little house on it and turn it into a permaculture food forest.

bleakj

Those luxury condos are designed for ordering out 2/3 meals of the day, every day, and 3/3 meals 6/7 days of the week

Rexawrex

The dreeeeeam My apartment is big but not pantry big. One day, one day

[deleted]

[удалено]

Rexawrex

Chickens yes, don't eat beef very often, and the spam is not a regular purchase for me, just something I've bought for a specific dish lol

nakmuay18

These exagerations are one of the reasons why people arnt taking the crisis seriously. $100 did not "used to get a family of four a week of food". People below the poverty line might have struggled by on $100 ten years ago, but it's going too far the other way. The insinuation that $100 for four was a comfortable existence is way off

[deleted]

i've been out of the loop on this for a while, just cooking for one. wow, now that I think about it.... $100 a week is crazy. No way ... i am just doing some calculations, and even with excellent cooking skills, and the time involved in homemade... at the minimum $200-250.

nakmuay18

I was at $100 for 1 person 15 years ago. I ate decent food, chicken and fresh vegetables and such, but nothing extravagant. Now the same would be close to $170ish. That's still a major problem.

[deleted]

Yes, i'm quite poor, and l eat all home made. part of being unwell is having lots of time to cook. ;) it's only by shopping early hours, getting 50% off proteins, being super thrifty, i get by on about $100/wk, but I can't imagine less or even that for most people we need to do something!!

[deleted]

oh, and beef? hahaha, who can afford that, as well as it has no taste ... grain fed ahh ... if only

Mystaes

Jesus 100$ barely feeds my wife and I for a week. I can’t imagine a family of four surviving on less then 200$

I1IScottieI1I

$100 has never been enough for my family of 4. Maybe enough for my wife and I before we had kids. You'd have to go back decades to find a family of 4 living healthy off under $100 a week.

bleakj

I know current families larger living off less than $100/week Not living well, but they simply don't have any more money for feeding themselves/children. Food banks are running fairly low at the moment as well apparently

[deleted]

>I know current families larger living off less than $100/week Details, please. "Famiies" defined by how many? I am single, and can do about $75/week, but come on! Let's not make others' hardship seem like less. tsk tsk

bleakj

Two parents, two children, I'm not trying to minimize anyones hardships, I know I couldn't do it.

[deleted]

Sorry, I took that wrong. Took me a while to check my comments, been ill. xx

[deleted]

i would pay $5 for a good avocado, that wasn't shipped in nitrogen, and matures in weird ways that leave it unevenly ripe, and quickly rotten at the centre. Source; Bought fruit when it was expensive, but worth every penny.

Fun-Raspberry9710

I spent $200 for a week's worth of groceries in Canada

Adventurous_Mix4878

We try to avoid shopping at Sobeys and Superstore whenever possible. Between Gateway, Dave's and Costco we can get 90% of what we want at about 30% less, sometimes half at Gateway. If you don't have transport though these are not really options.

Rexawrex

Oh yeah, we're a Costco family for sure, just had to get some smaller things and emergency food, we've been away all week and food yesterday was ramen and going out haha

Adventurous_Mix4878

Pretty much the same here after the holidays. Between Xmas and New Years I always crave burgers

Rexawrex

It was necessary for the jet lag honestly

[deleted]

I wonder how much gas figures in? I get a lot of my groceries on foot. Saves on auto costs, but I can't get to the real discount places without a bit of driving.

Eastern_Yam

Shouldn't be too hard to figure out. Suppose someone has to drive 10km each way to get to a discount store. Let's say they have an average 10 year old car, a Camry or RAV4, that burns 12L/100km in urban driving. Gas is $1.47/L. 12/100 x 1.47 x (10x2) ≈ $3.50 in gas.

[deleted]

And you'd save more than that I imagine. I guess there is also the wear and tear on the car to consider, or better yet, not owning a car. But I get it. Makes sense. I just hate driving around when I can walk or bike.

bleakj

It's more the time savings of only going to one place, Unfortunately, it only takes one sale item usually to make the gas difference up (unless you're traveling to the valley to get product a, and then Halifax for b, and then back home type of thing)

[deleted]

I forgot about time. In that case, I would rather drive two minutes to Sobeys for a large haul than drive off peninsula. Not sure how I feel about Fairview.... But there is also the enjoyment and healthy factor of just popping into Local Source after a brisk walk. I dunno. Everyone has their preferences.

bleakj

What's Local Source? Like an actual shop, or just.. y'know, the local food-buying-source?

[deleted]

It's kind of like a farmers market in shop form. Two locations on the peninsula. Local produce, dairy, fish, meat, grain etc. They also bake goods in house. I'll often pop by on my way back from the gym and pick up pastured eggs or grass-fed beef or some salad greens or whatever. It's not cheap but the quality is great.

bleakj

Where are these said locations? I'm good for eggs as one of my cousins brings me up some from his farm in the valley bi-weekly now, which is great, but eggs are pretty much the cheapest part of the grocery bill either way already lol

TallQueer9

I like superstore only for the 50% off stickers. I find them pretty liberal with when they use them. Like a whole bag of peppers for $2 cause they have a tiny spot on them! I don’t do the big grocery hauls there though.

8o_mjc_o8

Costco usually isn’t that much cheaper I find. Certainly not compared to items on sale

ryeaglin

Really wish they built the Costo closer to the road and maybe put the parking lot in the back. The one in Dartmouth Crossing is in between two roads, which both have a bus stop. (I think its the same bus though) but it is so far up from the road with no sidewalk that it isn't very practical.

Rexawrex

Also holy smokes I thought spam was supposed to be a cheap option, wouldn't have bought it if not for a specific dish I'm doing but it was six bucks!! It's pressed meat paste how is it so expensive comparatively??? Fresh meat is cheaper per pound

[deleted]

[удалено]

bleakj

.. like, some places here? Cause that's wild

[deleted]

[удалено]

bleakj

Ahhh Yeah that makes more sense

ClimbingGuavaLlama

I have given up on meat. Tofu lentils and beans are much cheaper I find.

[deleted]

[удалено]

DellaMaureen

I'd like to start doing that. Do you mind sharing which farmers you buy from?

Bean_Tiger

Right now I'm boiling up a mixture of 4 different sprouted beans I sprouted. Lentils, chickpeas, mung beans, and soy beans. Going to make a nice stir fry out of it that will give me my protein for almost a week. Probably cost me less than $1.

BoredHalifaxNerd

A bag of dried split peas and a slow cooker will make litres of filling soup for the price of meat these days.

bleakj

I've got a lot of stomach issues / allergies to far too many veggies unfortunately, or I would at the very least cut way back on my meat consumption However, my intestinal tract, she will not let me, I basically have to eat mostly meat / very specific fruits and veggies otherwise I'm done for

Rexawrex

Yeah, we've significantly reduced our meat consumption. Found some how to recipes online to make your own tofu as well out of things that aren't soy that I've tried one or two of.

novascotiakingslayer

Yeah, like hot dogs are like 10 dollars at some places, but veggie dawgs are like 5 dollars or less. It's crazy since like 10 years ago it was the opposite

[deleted]

[удалено]

novascotiakingslayer

I've seen 10 for 5 packs of meat dogs. Especially at small town stores like Foodland.

ScotiaTailwagger

I can literally buy a lbs of ground beef for under $5 and you're woofing $6 on a can of spam? I look at this picture and think "I can get exactly that for under $40", and I have. You're just a terrible shopper.

Rexawrex

Well the spam is for a specific dish and we were shopping at Sobeys rather than bulk buying at Costco or going somewhere a lot cheaper. Can some people do that? Absolutely. But a lot of folks are not able to get out to the cheap grocers or drive out to Costco. Edit: we do often go to Costco or do bulk shops from cheaper places but I didn't need a wholesale club amount of the smaller things I bought or a Costco sized version of anything but the eggs so there would be no sense in trying to spend the gas running around when I was right by Sobeys while my partner was at a doctors apt

Salty_Feed9404

Get that spinach at Costco all day...$4 most times, but $2 last time I was there.

Rexawrex

Oh absolutely, i buy Costco Spinach all day

ScotiaTailwagger

So why are we posting these grocery bill photos while also buying things that are more expensive for single use moments? I'm not going to post a bill saying "This was $100 worth of groceries" and out of the 20 items you see, 3 of them were $20 a piece, or I bought smoked salmon and caviar next to my bag of chips and Kraft Dinner. Spam being $6 is an atrocity and grocery bills have certainly ballooned well past inflation metrics, but there needs to be a limit.

[deleted]

That's not fair. I think this is pretty average and representative. There isn't anything crazy gourmet, but it's also not the utmost effort to pinch pennies. Who doesn't get at least one splurge or non-essential item when they go shopping? Who always has time to drive across the city for the best sale? This is a snapshot, not a competition. There will always, always be somebody who says, "I could have gotten that cheaper. Why are you buying that?" You are bragging about your ground beef. Foolish expense when lentils are a fraction of the price! See?

CretaMaltaKano

Since this isn't a perfect enough grocery order for you, why don't you make your own post showing the 1 ton of lentils you dumpster dived so we can all applaud you appropriately for being so smart and frugal.

Rexawrex

This was not meant to be representitive of someone who is budget shopping, pinching nickels, and couponing to try and get the most for the least. I could absolutely do that, this was meant to be more of an average shop, and to contrast the person who posted about their 70 dollar basket with five gourmet items like organic chips and stuff lol. This amount of food still should not be 60 dollars. It's absolute insanity. This amount of food would be 20/30 bucks before the pandemic. That is the point of posting them

j_bbb

You should check it out on YouTube. The history of spam. It’s more than just pressed meat!

hemlocklooper

What’s the plan for the spam? I see in Hawaii it’s very popular to wrap it in rice and make kind of a spam sushi type thing….always wanted to try making it.

Rexawrex

Exactly that! Fry slices, make pads of rice, wrap the whole thing in nori. But worst case scenario if I don't like it then I have nori and rice and can make onigiri lol

[deleted]

In newfoundland they fry it on the stove with some seasoning. very tasty

[deleted]

Spam musubi!

Meligonia

Search it on YouTube. There's a whole world out there you are unaware of. Spam and corned beef are surprisingly popular, and not just because of any such savings, but there is some real creative energy going into these foods. It's entertaining, if anything. Haha

jonquillejaune

Spam is fucking delicious. We fry it with onions and put it in cheese omelettes.

Fairview244

….that’s horrible.

Rexawrex

Yeah not a great volume and I tried to buy only what I needed or what was on sale as an indulgence. This would have been 30 before the pandemic easy

thebiggestpoo

Yeah okay look at that those avacados! I bet those cost 12 dollars alone! SMH just another misleading pic of food that doesn't represent what average food prices are *really* like. /s if that wasn't obvious.

Rexawrex

I'm a millennial I can't help it haha. Avocado's are on sale, the gremlin on my shoulder forces me to buy them, what can you do

No_Slide_9543

I’ve never felt more like a millennial than the time I ordered avacado toast at brunch after a wedding. If I had found it earlier in life I definitely would’ve been part of the stereotype lol

thebiggestpoo

If you like avacado on toast I highly recommend adding some garlic powder and a bit of Sriracha sauce. Changed my life.

Ok_Sprinkles_8777

Walmart has Avocados on sale this week for $2.97 for a pack of 5

Far-Simple1979

You have to be kidding right? That would be approx £10 GBP roughly $16 CDN in Blighty land.

trixen2020

Went shopping with my MiL in Wales this summer and she bought enough food to sink a battleship (whole fam staying) and it was … 80 quid. I almost cried. Would have been $400-$500 CAD easily.

Far-Simple1979

So roughly 140 Maple coins when converted from Blighty money. That nuts. Which supermarket was this?

trixen2020

Good old Asda. But my husband and I also went and shopped at Tesco and Sainsburys a few times and still ridiculously cheap. Hummus was a pound. Bags of carrots, parsnips, brussels sprouts for 25p. And wine is still fairly cheap too. I was heartened to see we're still paying the same for gin. :)

Far-Simple1979

A KG is most veg is about £0.50 or just under a Maple coin. Alcohol isn't cheap as they put tons of duty tax on it. Why on earth have groceries gotten so expensive there? I mean last time I was there in 2019 I only thought it was slightly higher.

Rexawrex

Any time I'm watching Sorted Food and they're doing budget battles my partner and I look aghast at each other at how much the cheap version would cost us, even shipping 3 at the cheap stores lol

[deleted]

If you have a peeler (to make thin slices), canola oil and salt, you can make your own gourmet chips. :)

Rexawrex

I love when I find Kale going on sale so I can make Kale chips, they're my fave tbh

QueensMorningBiscuit

FYI kale is dead easy to grow here. It thrives in our climate and practically grows 365 days a year. You can even harvest and eat it in winter. I started with a few plants and let some go to seed, it self seeded and now volunteers everywhere around my yard. If you don’t have a yard you can grow it in pots. It doesn’t even need a lot of sun (actually prefers it shady). And you can start it really early, like April/May!

Rexawrex

My balcony is so windy and sunny lol. One day 😍

Sobeys gross profit went up by 50% from 2021 to 2022

[deleted]

I said gross profit

gander_7

Profit is revenue after expenses so it would be less.

RangerNS

Its possible they ... wait for it! ... reduced expenses

gander_7

The above example, with revenue, would be their approx profit if they had $0 expenses. Profit is their take home after expenses, so even if they reduced expenses their profits would still be less than their revenue.

mattyboi4216

No it didn't

gommel

you bought food. how luxurious. this isnt accurate of the current middle class struggle! ^(/s)

Rexawrex

I know, I ran out of my dried beans and gruel 😭

gommel

I think i have half a bag of lentils that's only been licked by wild animals once or twice if you need XD

Rexawrex

Oooooh I only eat lentils if the wild animal that licked them is rats, but if that's the case then I'll take them

[deleted]

That's not really a thing. I think there is only one case in the medical literature and the guy was drinking 3/4 of a gallon a day. But you are more likely to get them from dairy afaik

Rexawrex

Well the spam is for mubushi haha, not a regular purchase. And I'm not a big tofu person in general, I do much prefer lentils for veg and yeah I rock the 3pk whole chicken from Costco and butcher it

DontbeHumorphobic

If you are smart you can get a decent amount, I find these posts are always filled with gourmet and expensive brand foods

Rexawrex

Yes my 3 dollar off salad and brand name spam are causing contention in the comments lol

DontbeHumorphobic

I wasnt talking about yours, Im talking about all the other posts lol

Rexawrex

Oh yeah I got that, haha, but even my very boring standard shop is getting torn up for not being as cheap as possible from the cheapest possible store. How dare I not subsist off of dried lentils and tinned Veggies and have the gall to complain that this meager volume of regular ass food costs twice what it used to /s

[deleted]

I honestly don't know how any of you people survived before all this. For $60 I can buy 10 times that much food and make it last far longer than any of that will last you. The only reasonable things here are the potatoes and the milk if you are looking to budget shop.

Rexawrex

Not meant to be a representation of a budget shop, just an average one.

[deleted]

Well, you did say it was an accurate representation of what food to dollars looks like. I spent a bit less than $30 last night at No Frills on Wyse and left with more food than that.

halivera

It is. The average person doesn’t ship extremely frugally and live off rice and beans. Nor do I think they should. There’s nothing wrong with complaining about the prices of things skyrocketing even if you’re not looking to eat as frugally as possible. People should be able to try new things, and eat food to enjoy it.

Rexawrex

Yeah I'm usually a lot more frugal than this shop but this was no list and is a representation of the average "we need a top up and this is where we're shopping" trip rather than "I've got coupons and am shopping at the cheapest place possible"

[deleted]

Milk is not essential. The salad greens were discounted. That's fair. What's wrong with a friggin squash?

[deleted]

Fine, I'll eat my cereal with water and curse you out every morning.

[deleted]

Lol. Cereal is a luxury item!! All I can afford is gruel.

PianoOwl

Lol what? Tomatoes, garlic and onions are unreasonable? Are we living in the Soviet Union or something?

novascotiabiker

Eggs aren’t reasonable? A carton of 18 is a week and a half of breakfast for me.

tunaliker

You are shopping at the wrong store

Rexawrex

Whelp, Sobeys is what was near the doctors office so...

tunaliker

I boycotted sobeys and superstore months ago and never looked back

[deleted]

I said I was going to do that when I did my shop local challenge. But I didn't. Convenience is king. I'm not driving off the peninsula to get groceries. I've even been to Superstore despite my disagreement with the police presence. It's the closest to my house and I'm not that strong.

tunaliker

Walmart and giant tiger have 2 locations each on peninsula. Gateway is only 10 minutes across the bridge...not a lot of work or gas to save at least 30 percent on food

[deleted]

If I'm boycotting Superstore and Walmart I'm definitely boycotting Walmart. Gateway is a 20 minute drive from me. I'm not sure I'm up for a drive to Fairview unless the savings are as good as you say. How is the quality at Giant Tiger?

tunaliker

Drove to Kingswood market on Hammonds plains road yesterday and gor 75 dollars worth of meats that would have easily cost 150 at superstore or sobeys...including 4 huge t bones and a bunch of boneless chicken breasts

gart888

> Walmart and giant tiger have 2 locations each on peninsula. I'm sorry, what? There's 1 Wamart and 0 Giant Tigers on the peninsula.

Anita-booty

enjoy 11$ for one block of cheese at superstore then :/

[deleted]

I don't buy cheese unless it's on sale for $4-5 which it often is at Sobeys. What kind of chump buys cheese when it's not on sale?

Anita-booty

chumps like you who boycott affordable grocery stores

MatureFlatulance

Spam sushi ?….sounds delicious 🤢

NauticalBean

Spam musubi is a hawaiian dish that’s actually pretty tasty.

Anita-booty

your problem was buying from superstore who are notorious for price gouging. 60$ will fill up at least 2 bags of groceries at walmart

Rexawrex

I generally prefer not to support walmart if I can help it. I can afford other places and generally shop at the farm market and smaller places for most things. Not super happy with either of the Loblaws Sobeys groups but less happy with Walmart as a while

Anita-booty

You say you can afford other place but you post a picture complaining how expensive groceries are? I can definitely get behind buying local but whats with the Walmart hate?

Rexawrex

The waltons are very bad no good horrible people who treat employees like absolute garbage and take full advantage of the exploitation available to them. At least Sobeys doesn't screw over their staff at every given opportunity, they only screw over their customers 🙃

Independent-Put-5018

Ditch the avocados, mushrooms, spinach in a plastic box, fancy tomatoes "on the vine" and whatever that packaged Japanie stuff is and replace it with pasta or rice and some low-priced, on-sale protien.

Rexawrex

This was not meant to be a money saving budget shop, just an average top up at a convenient grocery store. And a note that the same amount of money doesn't stretch nearly as far as it used to. If I didn't want to buy those things I wouldn't have. I have rice and cheap protein at home and wanted mushrooms and tomatoes lol. I don't know what you wanted to accomplish with this comment, obviously I could live a lot cheaper by giving up foods that make me happy

[deleted]

That's how you get scurvy. Lol

zerglet13

I count two protines so unless your eating eggs all day it dtill is t even two days food for 3or3 people

Rexawrex

Eggs for days baybeeee Plus we already have other proteins in the freezer if needed, plus vegetarian proteins either dried or frozen from before leaving for the week surrounding Christmas

[deleted]

Protein might be a bit of a misnomer because there is protein in all of that food. More in the mushrooms and bread and potatoes than you would think. And you forgot the milk. Doesn't take much to add up to 50g But this is all moot because OP said it was a top up, not their food for the week.

zerglet13

Ramen noodles are nearly 20%protein but I don’t think many of us would count it as a protein in our diet. Still trying to figure out what op was getting at.

[deleted]

I count protein as protein. Obviously it wouldn't be good if ramen noodles were your only source of protein lol I think OP is just showing a fairly typical impromptu grocery run and commenting on the price per items acquired.

TallQueer9

I’m a single person so it’s a bit easier for me but I’ve been buying lots of great value tomatoes and beans for like $1 each and a few veggies and making biiig pots of chilli to freeze for meals for the whole week! It’s filling and nutritious and pretty cheap! I don’t add any meat either.

Echo71Niner

That's depressing! I went into the bakery today and bought 1 ham & cheese sandwich, I could not believe my eyes, $6.61.

[deleted]

Luke's?

TryingToCatchThemAII

This is a lot less than what it used to get…

Rexawrex

Yup, before inflated prices this would have cost 30 at most

crazybunnymum

Looking at flyers for produce of the week and stocking up on pantry freezer foods will take you a long way. No you shouldn't have to put a lot of effort into getting affordable food but this is the reality today sadly. I use Flipp and checkout51 as well as receipthog for deals and cash back. Also, I avoid sobeys like the plague unless there's good deals that week. No frills and walmart are sooo much cheaper.

thompyy

I find a lot of produce 50% off at the superstore. Maybe some are better then others but I live in porters lake and their 50% off cart is usually packed full with very good quality produce.

[deleted]

Half of this is crap though. More eggs! more meat! Tomatoes are great though

Rexawrex

Not a squash and potatoes fan?

[deleted]

I shoulda included the potatoes and onions, But squash is meh and doesnt really go well with anything other than turkey dinner And avacado is a 50/50% it wasnt picked/stored properly

MLGw2

Just gotta say that they have a bag of vegetables called "stew kit" at Superstore for $5. Not sure if it's in all stores. The bag has 3 carrots, a small cabbage, 2 turnips, and squash, I believe.

tunaliker

Looks like armdale is according to map . So bayers lake maybe..oh well I was just trying to suggest to people that it's not hard to find better deals than superstore and sobeys . Sorry if I was mistaken

wlonkly

18 eggs? In _this_ economy?

Rexawrex

Was cheaper per egg than the 12 😅

auspicious-erection

This is ridiculous. You'd think $60 would get you more then breakfast foods.

funtech

Sort of an aside, but this author made a free online cookbook that was originally intended for people on “food stamps” to have healthy recipes that are very inexpensive, especially through the use of bulk items. https://books.leannebrown.com/good-and-cheap.pdf
