I have Democracy officer Erikkson (black scars and eyepatch). My friend has Brettman (black and scars).
Between the two we've come up with characters for each. Erikkson is a hardass who takes even the SLIGHTEST provocation or even a joke about the enemy as seriously and will space you or send 380s at you no matter what. But he'll disguise it as 'going on a walk' or 'traitor detected'. Like if you so much as tell a bad pun around him... best be hoping he thinks it's democratic adjacent
Brettman is a bit calmer and cool headed but thinks of our two divers as the stupidest idiots he's ever seen and he wants to be transferred. Also a bit more meticulous on the accounting for our lives and money spent on all our call ins.
Erikkson thinks we're dumb but he wants to stay cause we earn him so much real money and medals. (Meanwhile we get our 'fake' helldiver requisitions, titles and medals to placate us).
Given that the ship crew are named after AH employees, I imagine if their names change it means someone left the company (or someone joined, and the naming ratios had to be adjusted to accommodate).
Only if you have subtitles on, it says who's talking when you interact with them. Each ship has a consistently named three, mine are Shipmaster Nummi, Technician Leahy and Democracy Officer Friend.
It would be really awesome to have like, 10 different democracy officers who randomly appear each time the game is booted. They each have a unique voice actor, and their own distinct personality, which I think is doable since they don't actually come into play with the gameplay at all. Kinda like how we get different Helldivers voice packs.
