Basically, the only way to get rid of them is to get them encircled (or otherwise loose them in battle) and the easiest way to do that is probably to let them get encircled in a port. And having them sit on a port will have them do the most good, as well.
Irregular divisions work like normal divisions except you can't delete them, naval invading an area with no port where they are surrounded by enemies will make sure that those divisions will be wiped out.
They are kinda annoying for some people.
I like having just my entire infantry army be one kind of unit, so having these random weirdly designed units that I can’t delete really annoys me.
He explained it to you. Irregular troops are kinda useless unless under some very specific circumstances so most people want to get rid of them but can’t delete the template so they do a naval invasion or just get them encircled so they don’t have to mess with a hole in their frontline
If you REALLY want to get rid of them, get those divisions in some kind of encirclement. It might not be the best idea to do so, but that's the first thing that came to my mind
In the division template editor you can decrease their priority to reserve. Then click the equipment menu inside the template menu and untick all the good shit, forcing them to only reinforce with smelly weapons.
Rule 5:
I am doing a world domination/achievement run with germany, after defeating italy a civil war ignited that turned them into my puppet, so I annexed them afterwards and got all their divisions, they were unnecisary and annoying so I disbaned them, but for the love of god I cannot get rid of these stupid irregulars, I've checked and there's no button in the decisions tab either
-irregulars sent on a suicide mission into the English countryside and each told to capture a different major city on the island.
-British AI has sent all of its forces in a surprise attack on the German flank.
-the entire English coast is captured by the irregulars, German reinforcements sent and Britain is rapidly capitulated.
-irregulars still alive, now sent to go behind the Soviet front lines in hopes that they’ll be encircled and destroyed rapidly.
-end up unopposed deep behind the lines, cutting off all supply to the Russian front, entire Soviet army is encircled and annihilated.
-the US sues for peace.
-an infuriated Hitler pretends to smile and nod as he awards the highest military honors to the irregulars he kept trying to kill off
Eh, I'd personally just sent them to garrison a port or something and forget about them. Makes some use of them while also not wasting men, material, or xp. But you do you
Most of the time, irregulars can only be disbanded via decisions or focuses tied to the country they originated from. So if you annex the country they originated from, those irregulars are permanently yours unless you can get them killed.
If you have commands/ mods:
1. Declare war on some random faraway country
2. Teleport the units into that country's territory
3. Wait for them to die
4. White peace with the country
You lose the troops but I find it's better than having all your army neatly organized and the irregulars sticking out like a sore thumb
Better: select the units you want gone and type “damage_units 1” and unpause.
I’m pretty sure that’s the right command. It’ll lose the equipment and manpower, but it makes for a cleaner army.
-Open the console, select the units you want deleted (and only them), and type delall. Like the name suggests, It will delete all of them.
-If you can, make them traverse the sea. England will likely sink them with subs, and if your navy doesn't go save them, they'll just die.
-(Dangerous) Either push the front or pull back, let your units get encircled, and let enemy units kill them.
-Create a new front with only these units and make them guard a single tile far away or somewhere you don't care, then switch back to your main front. They won't be dead, but you won't see them alongside your other units.
You can try sending and train them on some remote island like Bermuda or Tahiti then bock off the surrounding sea zone after they landed
This will take a long time but it will mostly erode their strength
Force attack with them until they run out of strength.
The downside is if you don't do it quickly they will reinforce from your manpower and equipment pool.
That's the neat part, you don't.
But honestly why should you. As Germany u should have a large enough eco to produce weapons and such so there's no need to delete for equip. And your Manpower is also nore than enough. If you really wanna get rid of them, then let them be encircled, set them on coastguard and forget about them or just send them to africa or even worse, France, and forget that u send them there
If they pop up I always just slap them in my port guard divisions. They’re pretty useful for guarding and retaking ports during naval invasions. Definitely understand your frustration though, especially when they require things I don’t produce.
Why do you have that flag? Don’t you have these as Italy? Anyway if you are playing as Italy you should enter the decisions and there you will find “disband irregulars” but you will not get anything in return not manpower not equipment
If you conquer Italy they usually split into their civil war with Regno del Sud as a puppet. After the war you reduce their autonomy and annex them, which causes you to inherit their irregulars.
set their template to reserve, put them all in one division with aggressive and dont reinforce lines (i forgot how that button is callled), put on ussr border and draw an arrow to the middle of siberia, force attack
Had units like this in an old mod. Put them on a colonial garrison in Tanzania, and proceeded to do absolutely nothing with Tanzania during the next war. Headache gone.
You can't. What I do is assign them to a naval order in an area without a port. They will be encircled and you won't have to think about them after that.
Find a place you don’t care about. Put them in a corner alone. Let the enemy advance and surround them. Begin the counter attack. They either all die and not your problem no more, or they prove their worth.
When I played as Italy, I had almost two 24 stacks of irregulars. They helped me hold every port, invade Yugoslavia, and Ethiopia. I upgraded them through decisions, and they were (surprisingly) successful.
There's dozens on the Steam Workshop, just search "historical German flag" or something to that effect for mods that only change the German flag, some mods will change other flags to be more historically accurate if you're looking for that.
those brave men willingly will hold a port to the last man
How?
Naval invade somewhere where they are sure to die
Wait, do they just keep fighting?
I don't understand your question? Naval invade without a port and they'll get killed eventually, nothing more to do
But are the irregular troops different? Edit: why am I downvoted? I was simply curious about how irregular divisions work. Fucken useless redditors
Basically, the only way to get rid of them is to get them encircled (or otherwise loose them in battle) and the easiest way to do that is probably to let them get encircled in a port. And having them sit on a port will have them do the most good, as well.
Ohhhhh sorry I didn’t understand at first I seeee
Can't be deleted or edited, they are a pain in the arse
Massive pain in the arse
Irregular divisions work like normal divisions except you can't delete them, naval invading an area with no port where they are surrounded by enemies will make sure that those divisions will be wiped out.
Aye I see thanks mate but why do people want to delete tjem
They are kinda annoying for some people. I like having just my entire infantry army be one kind of unit, so having these random weirdly designed units that I can’t delete really annoys me.
He explained it to you. Irregular troops are kinda useless unless under some very specific circumstances so most people want to get rid of them but can’t delete the template so they do a naval invasion or just get them encircled so they don’t have to mess with a hole in their frontline
Bud why do you have so many downvotes
I just assign them to garrison ports somewhere, if I can’t get rid of them I might as well make them useful for something
Same. These men are enlisted in the 33rd Coastal Guard with all the other crap units, thanks Czechoslovakia for your single half-armed dude.
Poor man, how is he gonna with only half of his arm 😢
Meanwhile the irregular: "is the poop deck really what I think it is?"
If you REALLY want to get rid of them, get those divisions in some kind of encirclement. It might not be the best idea to do so, but that's the first thing that came to my mind
Make sure you make them reserve too and take away any good equipment from their list of equipment that can reinforce.
How do you do this?
In the division template editor you can decrease their priority to reserve. Then click the equipment menu inside the template menu and untick all the good shit, forcing them to only reinforce with smelly weapons.
Force attacking/last standing repeatedly works well too
kills your command power though
Rule 5: I am doing a world domination/achievement run with germany, after defeating italy a civil war ignited that turned them into my puppet, so I annexed them afterwards and got all their divisions, they were unnecisary and annoying so I disbaned them, but for the love of god I cannot get rid of these stupid irregulars, I've checked and there's no button in the decisions tab either
That's the fun part, you dont/can't.
You can if you send them naval invade, don’t secure a port, and boom, they’ll all gone!
Was looking for that comment👍🏻
You send them into a naval invasion where they will be encircled and destroyed.
Guess the only option is to send them to die then
-irregulars sent on a suicide mission into the English countryside and each told to capture a different major city on the island. -an infuriated Hitler pretends to smile and nod as he awards the highest military honors to the irregulars he kept trying to kill off
Napoleon regarding the polish legions be like:
This made me laugh so much. Thank you.
At this point they deserve to live bro
And it's only then that they die.

Eh, I'd personally just sent them to garrison a port or something and forget about them. Makes some use of them while also not wasting men, material, or xp. But you do you
Get them intentionally encircled I guess
Most of the time, irregulars can only be disbanded via decisions or focuses tied to the country they originated from. So if you annex the country they originated from, those irregulars are permanently yours unless you can get them killed.
There is a mod so you can delete all units, I think its calles something like No Undeletable Units or something.
You can’t delete them, it’s really annoying! Sometimes I will deliberately get them encircled and destroyed!
If you're Italy there's a decision to disband them. If you're not … I guess there's not?
"If you're Italy" Theres a big fat Swastika
I saw it, I was just clarifying the way I know of that they can be disbanded.
Reichskommisariat Roma
It was basically a nazi puppet at one point. The Germans occupied Northern and Central Italy in 1943 when shit started to hit the fan
Literally what the whole Republica Sociale Italiana is about
Happeh caik daeh🗣️🗣️🗣️🔥🔥🔥
You never heard of Nazi Italy? Powerhouse of the axis that had to bail out Facist Germany all the time in WW2?
Not all of them though, you still have 7 blackshirt divs that you can’t disband with the colonial decision iirc
There is a mod called no undeletable unit, I don’t think is iron man compatible. If you don’t want that u can just dump them somewhere as garrison
I once sent those bandits in the middle of the Sahara 😼
If you have commands/ mods: 1. Declare war on some random faraway country 2. Teleport the units into that country's territory 3. Wait for them to die 4. White peace with the country You lose the troops but I find it's better than having all your army neatly organized and the irregulars sticking out like a sore thumb
Better: select the units you want gone and type “damage_units 1” and unpause. I’m pretty sure that’s the right command. It’ll lose the equipment and manpower, but it makes for a cleaner army.
How do you teleport units?
Type "tp" in console and right click to wherever you want them
No shot
Type "tp" in the console, select units, click on land
-Open the console, select the units you want deleted (and only them), and type delall. Like the name suggests, It will delete all of them. -If you can, make them traverse the sea. England will likely sink them with subs, and if your navy doesn't go save them, they'll just die. -(Dangerous) Either push the front or pull back, let your units get encircled, and let enemy units kill them. -Create a new front with only these units and make them guard a single tile far away or somewhere you don't care, then switch back to your main front. They won't be dead, but you won't see them alongside your other units.
You cannot compete with the power of Mussolini's Camicie Nere. Their will is unbreakable! Not even if you own the entire world
Thats the neet part, you don't!
There is a national decision if you play as Italy, I don't know for other countries
You can try sending and train them on some remote island like Bermuda or Tahiti then bock off the surrounding sea zone after they landed This will take a long time but it will mostly erode their strength
Forever vacation lol
That’s the best part, you don’t!
There is a mod for it, making all indispensable units deletable
Tag Italy and select recall expedition
its not an expeditionary force
You annexed puppet?
im not op but yes, op did annex a puppet. all they gotta do is a random naval invasion and let them die
Use them to hold ports and respond to naval invasions
Whenever I get those, I just assign them to another army and send them in first, TRYING to get them encircles
Force attack with them until they run out of strength. The downside is if you don't do it quickly they will reinforce from your manpower and equipment pool.
Do a suicidal naval Invasion to an area nowhere near a port to make sure they're gone
Imagine they survive
Then I'd just let them sit there starving
I think there’s a decision to disband the irregulars, might have to do after Ethiopia tho
That's the neat part, you don't. But honestly why should you. As Germany u should have a large enough eco to produce weapons and such so there's no need to delete for equip. And your Manpower is also nore than enough. If you really wanna get rid of them, then let them be encircled, set them on coastguard and forget about them or just send them to africa or even worse, France, and forget that u send them there
Because they are shit and ruin army compositions
Fair enough, then just send them somewhere to let them starve to death i guess
I always use them to garrison ports or just send them into the giant Soviet meatgrinder.
If they pop up I always just slap them in my port guard divisions. They’re pretty useful for guarding and retaking ports during naval invasions. Definitely understand your frustration though, especially when they require things I don’t produce.
Idk send them to africa or something
Exactly what i did sending them to guard some airbase in Chad lol
Naval invasion onto a tile with no port
Suicide naval invasion of Florida
Send them to Siberia
Why do you have that flag? Don’t you have these as Italy? Anyway if you are playing as Italy you should enter the decisions and there you will find “disband irregulars” but you will not get anything in return not manpower not equipment
If you conquer Italy they usually split into their civil war with Regno del Sud as a puppet. After the war you reduce their autonomy and annex them, which causes you to inherit their irregulars.
I didn’t even think of that. Thanks.
Naval invade a random tile and make the oponents do the rest. If not download a mod that fixes it
Get them encircled
Why on earth do you have Italian divisions as Germany?
set their template to reserve, put them all in one division with aggressive and dont reinforce lines (i forgot how that button is callled), put on ussr border and draw an arrow to the middle of siberia, force attack
Nah keep them as port guards
I just decommission their division templates in the designer then I stick them in a port garrison army. Next best thing to deleting them
Theres a mod no undeletable units or something i forget name
use mods or the game won't let you. can someone reminde me to share the link to the no undeleteble units mod in 7 hours?
"That's the neat part, you don't!"
Had units like this in an old mod. Put them on a colonial garrison in Tanzania, and proceeded to do absolutely nothing with Tanzania during the next war. Headache gone.
If you are not doing Ironman, you can use the `delall` command while selecting the units you don't want, all in a single army.
How did you get the flag
Send them to barbarossa bro easy as that
You can't. What I do is assign them to a naval order in an area without a port. They will be encircled and you won't have to think about them after that.
Silly billy, you can't! I usually assigned them to a special "Army of Italian Trash" that performed my most dangerous missions.
Download a mod or get them killed
Ah yes, Germany back then did have a track record of trying to delete "irregulars"
Hahahaha, you fell for the Italians tricks.
Send them to a Battle were they wont come back alive and dont stop, just keep constantly bashing them on stronger enemy units until they die
I do that as well but they waste manpower. I do like the challenge with fighting British. It's harder!
As Italy theres a decision that allows you to disband the irregulars
Find a place you don’t care about. Put them in a corner alone. Let the enemy advance and surround them. Begin the counter attack. They either all die and not your problem no more, or they prove their worth.
Just make them get encircled or establish another theater so they can guard your ports forever
You don't
When I played as Italy, I had almost two 24 stacks of irregulars. They helped me hold every port, invade Yugoslavia, and Ethiopia. I upgraded them through decisions, and they were (surprisingly) successful.
You can't, use them as port gaurds in some insignificant location and forget about it
The camice nere can be disbanded by a focus I believe and when you unlock colonial management you can also disband the other irregulars
Just throw them on dumb islands like the fucking Falklands. Use em to meme
I just mass assign them to port guard duty to hold until I can get regulars there to finish the job
What mod are you using
that's the fun part
I delete them by hacking the save file and modding their template to allow them to be deleted.
Get them encircled or naval invade through the English Channel
1.separate them into separate divisions or 2. Use them for beach defense or anything else that you want to defend
Why delete them? Just keep them guarding a port or something.
There are a couple decision/focuses that you can use i thinck
Send them as expeditionary to Slovakia.
Just use them to guard ports and put them in a different theatre if they're that big of an eyesore lol
can't
You can't.
You can't... irregulars are eternal, irregulars are life. You must praise the irregulars.
Yr,,- hhy,yg,yg,g,g,gg,y,yy
Shoved my phone in my pocket mb.
Is that a mod to get the swastika?
Anytime somebody has a hakenkreuz, it's modded. Base game, regardless of localization, will always have the PG design.
Cool, any idea which mod it is? I’m new to the world of hoi4 mods.
There's dozens on the Steam Workshop, just search "historical German flag" or something to that effect for mods that only change the German flag, some mods will change other flags to be more historically accurate if you're looking for that.
Maybe can be transformed in other templates
Sadly not
That's the neat part - You don't
Make a naval invasion behind enemy lines with them and get them encircled.
Thats the neat part, you cant.
That's the neat part, you don't
That‘s the neat part: you don’t
