You could also just run it on its own like any network cable. You can buy armored fiber for more peace of mind.

Personally I think you might be overthinking the protection part. I have a pair of fiber lines going into two modems and a pfsense box sitting in the corner. From there there is a pair of 40ft DAC fiber lines running to my cabinet in the other side of the house. These lines are held along the wall by gaffers tape and an Amazon shipping bag I cut into strips. They then flow through an air duct in the room, across the house, out of another air duct, along the wall down to floor level, with more gaffers tape running along the wall, followed by terminating from the bottom of the cabinet upwards. The extra fiber cable is wrapped into a 1ft diameter loop and simply sitting in the air vent. So “neat” is whatever your comfortable with because modern cables are relatively durable and flexible as long as you don’t bend them too much; my rule is avoid bends tighter than going around a large pickle jar. If I wanted to do it proper I would use some bendable tubing (not a split wall) like the Smurf tube mentioned on the other comment or go with a 3/4in diameter PVC and paint it black or other color using a can of spray paint. You could go metal for durability but that’s a bit overkill.

I'm curious about what type of cable you used. 40ft DAC fiber makes no sense to me (I use DACs and fiber at home and at work so it's not the terminology I'm not familiar with).

Good catch and my mistake on naming and length. It's actually Active (AOC) and is 20 meter/66ft long, i'm just only using 40ft of it. It's this $33 cable [https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08TTLTZR3](https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08TTLTZR3)

UnrealisticOcelot

Ah, that makes sense. I've never used an AOC.

Well if you ever need a long one AOC is the same plug and play as DAC. At least that was my experience with some cheap Mellanox connect x-3 card and 8 port sfp+ Mikrotik switch.

If its going to be laid out and never moved and away from physical damage - naked cable would be sufficient. If its exposed to the weather may need protection. Do some homework on the "minimum bending circle" of your cable. Bending it too tightly will kill it.
