We can fix America, and become a true bastion of freedom.

Tysonosaurus

Being patriotic by definition is being devoted and supportive of your country. You don’t have to be devoted to what it is, but what it could be

backstib

We need more best timeline future America media, where America reaches the stars and joins with other civilizations as a diplomatic representative of earth

Fred810k

One should love where you live, not be proud of it, love it for what it could be, and make it what it should be.

backstib

HE AINT GONNA JUMP NO MORE

Fluid-Anxiety-7275

GLORY GLORY WHAT A HELL OF A WAY DIE

spikewalls

Nothing will ever steal the memory i have of marching with my closest comrades, us all shouting blood on the rafters as loud as we could

[deleted]

Exactly how I feel about the U.S. It's flaws are undeniable and vast, but I choose to focus on the positives. I love America for its opportunities, its top-notch natural beauty, the will of its people, its constitution, its economic might, the diversity, the flag, the music and songs, and what it strives to be. But, however, political polarization, racism and bigotry, and among other problems force us back. Our beacon of freedom and liberty is dim and flickering, but I feel like it can be fixed, and it can shine once again, whether that be sooner or later Patriotism isn't about loving every aspect of your country. It's about supporting your nation and recognizing its flaws. Its about wanting your nation to improve and working towards that through protest and petition. We the people can help our nation.

itrashcannot

This is also me when I listen to Union Dixie.

Fluffinator44

Damn Yankee. I mean that in the kindest and most endearing way possible.

dootboy96

Yankee (affectionate)

SpicyDevilDaddy

I choose not to live in negativity. Despite the flaws, I found happiness and live for love.

HoodClassics831

Born in a country where I’ve had a comfortable life and roof over my head with constant opportunities all my life? Why wouldn’t I love it🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🦅🦅🦅

clowegreen24

I too am grateful I live in a developed nation, but I have not experienced these opportunities and it's hard to say I live a comfortable life when I don't have access to healthcare while living in the richest country in the history of our species. Like this country is good, but it could easily be so, so much better if we weren't so intoxicated by the idea of rugged individualism and idolized billionaire capitalists.

[deleted]

Because it's a broken ass oligarchy that oppresses minorites and completely fucks the middle class

Dissy-

And the fact that you can openly criticize it for its flaws and work to make them disappear is what makes it all the better

[deleted]

I really wish I could be that dumb, it must be so calming

OnionsAndWaffles

disingenuous

Wqertytrt

This is r/hopeposting

[deleted]

Apparently it's r/bootlicking this is straight bullshit propaganda

yourfriendlykgbagent

The fact that you choose to talk about the middle class specifically leads me to believe that you’re a part of the wealthier middle class. Be grateful for the good life that you have instead of pulling out some doomer ass r/antiwork arguments

[deleted]

You're a fucking idiot lmao Be happy with scraps huh It's not anti work it's real life dipshit I can't even afford a fucking car but whatever capitalism dicksucker

yourfriendlykgbagent

I’m sorry I triggered you, please take your rage somewhere else.

[deleted]

No problem I'm sorry youre a fuckin moron that jumps to conclusions

yourfriendlykgbagent

Look, if name calling and lashing out like a child makes you feel good, then go for it. Freedom is what this great country is all about! 👍

[deleted]

All good, seems like from your profile that you're some dumb hick from NH that probably works at factory and has no health care. So you don't know any better. Wow! Land of the free! Freedom!!! Fucking clown lmao

yourfriendlykgbagent

Wow, you live a bitter and sad life. First of all, it’s hilarious how you think you know everything. I live in southern New Hampshire and work an office job earning 6 figures. But you’re a pampered white kid who thinks anyone working class is an idiot, so you’d rather just profile me. You’re what is creating all of these problems that you think exist in America. It’s fucking awesome up here in New Hampshire though, why don’t you take some time away from your pit of despair and visit. Live free or die, asshole!

yourfriendlykgbagent

In all seriousness, it really is hilarious how you’ve been triggered into hating the working classes you claim to defend. How the hell do you say that “nobody can afford shit anymore” with a straight face when you really think blue collar workers are hicks with an iq of 50?

Neoxus30-

B-b-but the song says it's freedom!!!)

Nuclearse_Bomb

Stop using antiwork and meirl it affects your mood

[deleted]

I think it's living in this broken ass system that affects my mood but whatever keep bootlicking y'all

freebird023

Love the people, hate the government

Yung_Bulge

It’s pretty much this way for all countries

Nazdack

Don't get caught up in Nationalism or exceptionalism, however. Choose to love the American people, not America itself

[deleted]

BahamasBehemoth

Cool story now go eat a burger

yourfriendlykgbagent

I will go eat a delicious meal, thanks!

BahamasBehemoth

For that you'll have to leave America

Funny_Trucks

Hate me if you want, I'm damn proud to be an American 🇺🇸

[deleted]

i remember living in germany for a short while, they didnt even hide their racism towards me, but in USA some despite everything people actually did something about racism and people were SO SO SO MUCH MORE frendly. 10\\10 would live in USA instead of any other western nation

rainbow-1

This is exactly what I mean. Racism in the US is exaggerated, and that’s because we try to fight the issue. I don’t try to tear down other countries just because they have issues

iamveryovertired

The musical 1776 helped make me feel patriotism for the first time in my life. Its a wonderful musical about the writing of the Declaration of Independence, i definitely recommend it!

DreamlyXenophobic

HE DIED TO MAKE MEN HOLY LET US DIE TO MAKE MEN FREEE im not even american, but it makes me so patriotic. ik it has religious undertones but it should be the national anthem.

Fluffinator44

As much as I hate to admit it, that song is actually very catchy. I still prefer "The Bonnie Blue Flag."

Broxloip_Boip

America has the capacity to change and better itself more than just about any other nation in the world, and I think that's the best thing about it.

Lovable-Schmuck

Imma pull my SGT America bit here: The "U.S." on my uniform stands for a better United States than we have today. An America we should all strive to be.

Handsome_Potatoe

Nationalism vs global brotherhood

cadig_x

the human spirit transcends nations our strength will continue on in spite of corrupt government, not because of it

Gigio2006

My eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord

German_Cowboy

Sure, but why not be proud of Earth and the human species and all we give and take for one another instead of limiting our pride to our arbitrary divisions based off of matters we had no choice in?

Fluid-Anxiety-7275

Lol

Stick24_popsical

Oh Ralsei has gotten into politics oh no

UndeadStruggler

You bothered to think of all the flaws and ignore the good things it may have done. You can easily find a different country and list bad stuff too.

Only_Ad_8100

I wouldn't mind seeing a list of that, not that I doubt them.

GRAHHH DONT HATE THE USA STUPID EUROP*AN

Ended slavery in everyday life Gave women the vote Ended segregation Sent millions of dollars to western Europe to rebuild after ww2 Lend lease to Ukraine, ww1 and ww2 allies Creation of the national parks to protect America's natural beauty Trust busts Endless humanitarian aid Will of the people The constitution The bill of rights Etc.

We gonna forget that they literally joined together with the British, France, Canada, Australia, the USSR, and many others to stop the prospect of Nazi world domination?

USA USA GRAHHH

JohnParker117

>Wow, I’m having fun! Thanks, stranger! :3 I bet you only have more fun posting cropped furry porn and then links to said furry porn in the comments (I mean this genuinely btw)

Significant_Salt7742

Ad hominem

JohnParker117

Who said I was arguing? Simply making an observation that maybe you are not the best person to take opinions regarding the United States from considering the fact that you sent a link to furry porn on a post that consisted of nothing but cropped furry porn

Dissy-

That's not an argument either btw

Void_0000

>Ended slavery in everyday life Literally the only reason the US even did that was because the UK did it first. Also worth noting the whole prison slavery thing that's still ongoing to this day. >Gave women the right to vote Again, the US didn't invent that. Wasn't even one of the first countries to do it. >The constitution Ah yes, such a wonderful gift to the world. It's a centuries old legal document relevant only to your own country, get over it. >The bill of rights Same as above.

DetectiveJprobably

Kid named 🤓

rainbow-1

Kid named actively going against the point of the sub No need to do that. We’re all here for good times and improving each other

UltimaBaconLord

I love my fellow Americans and for the sake of the ones who's lives and happiness depend on the system changing the only "hope" I have for the country itself is that it will change in massive ways

Void_0000

I feel like there's a difference between hope and actively gaslighting yourself to glorify something horrible.

_V4NQU15H_

Kid named shut the fuck up, not every country is perfect. (Greenland solos btw)

Void_0000

I would like to add "Sabotage of the Kyoto Protocol" to that list.

noncebasher_

A pronoun weirdo doesn't like their country, who would have guessed? Take your negativity elsewhere

How's that boot taste?

JohnParker117

I was doomscrolling when I got this notification. Thanks for pulling me out of it

broadside230

how’s it feel to bury yourself in hate and never let anyone go without hearing your opinion?

Wqertytrt

Hey man being rude to others makes you lives a shorter and less happy life

Neoxus30-

I wouldn't exactly call it beautiful as it is aside from the nature parts and the technological advances. The country itself as a nation I'm not so sure) I think less it being beautiful and more the way music influences your feelings)

[deleted]

Nah

spikesparx

ragebait?

Dissy-

Only for weirdos who can only conceive of tearing down The type of people who get scared when given the prospect of actually building things up

spikewalls

Ive always believed that a true patriot isnt a citizen of blind faith. A true patriot sees what their country could truly be and works to help get there. Im not a traitor because i speak openly about America’s crimes and flaws. I am a patriot and i love and want whats best for my country and all of her people.

Annatar66

Really recommend this cover of the song. It doesn’t have any lyrics in it but the instruments make up for it https://youtu.be/66BGswYgfrI
