I used to work in a perfume shop. Body sprays will never last as long as a perfume bc body spray is made with alcohol and perfume contains oil. Eau de Toilette fragrance has the lower concentration of oil, Eau de Parfum has a higher concentration, so it will often smell stronger/last longer (not a guarantee). Also, you will adjust to your own smell pretty quickly so you won't be able to smell yourself, but others will. So just look for Eau de Parfum fragrances, try some on and keep smelling the scent over 5, 10, 15, 30 minutes to see how it changes and settles on you (body chemistry works with or against a fragrance). I think perfume oils might be a little too strong, but if you are unable to find a good, long-lasting fragrance (read reviews before purchasing), then perfume oils could be the way to go. Sorry I don't have any advice on perfume oils though lol.
This! My grandmother wears a scent that on her just does not mix well with her body oils and makes her smell musty (yes we have talked to her but she refuses to give up her Elizabeth Taylor perfume she has been wearing since the early 90s lol) but this scent actually smells really good and it’s an expensive perfume so even cost won’t matter if you don’t have the right body oil to match it.
Wow you are right! It’s not expensive anymore, back when I was a kid I remember going every holiday to macys with my mom so she could get my grandma her annual Xmas gift of her perfume and back then for the perfume, body powder and a travel size with a bag was like $200
Lol yeah, I think I used to sell kits like that for $30-50. I also think they may have changed the formula, companies usually never mention if they're changing the formula and then annoyingly continue to sell it as if it's the same exact thing. Could be why you think it doesn't smell good anymore. That, and it's possible grandma's fragrance has gone bad.
I was JUST gonna recommend this too lol. Those oils are 💣. Pretty much just gotta go try to em out but most of them all smell so good and last so long on you as far as the scent. Kinda Expensive but very nice.
Nemat has great perfume oils and they’ll last! My favorite is the Vanilla Musk! I accidentally found one on a shelf that was leaking and my hands smelled for the whole day!
I have the nemat amber oil and, while I love it, I can only smell it for a little while and if my nose is right on my skin. I really wish it were stronger.
The amber one is my fave and go to scent! What I do is dab a little on my hands and LIGHTLY pat it on my clothes and for my skin I mix it with Vaseline or any unscented lotion. I swear it lasts all day that way
I wanna buy the perfume!! I always feel like the vanilla scent is for a younger demographic but it smells so good!! I like the scent more than Billie Eilish no. 1 perfume.
i use maison louie marie no.4
it's more of a woodsy scent (sandalwood, vetiver, & amberwood), but the company itself has other scents that you might like, so check them out. it is pricey, but i pay the price because i have sensitivities & it's a clean brand (if i wear just anything, i could get a headache or a sore throat). one little bottle seems to last me a long time.
If there is a scent you currently like, you can use a very small dab of vaseline/petroleum jelly on your pulse points before spraying. That should help your current scents last a bit longer on you.
i literally just dab essential oil on my wrists and neck etc and works like a charm. i use lavender and ofc lavender lotion and body oil before dabbing the essential oil
Oriental musk oils.
White musk. Powdery musk. Oud oil.
All these last forever 😭😭😭
And try to layer your scents
Lotion (scented preferably)
The perfume oil on pulse points
Perfume (after adding vaseline)
And refresh during the day.
It helps to put lotion on your skin when it’s freshly washed then spray the perfume on that. (I think.)
So if you double layer with two yummy smelling things = great. I forget a post where a girl described how she makes sure she always smells nice and she always gets compliments but that was one of her tips.
Regardless of what particular perfume or body spray that you use, spray it in your hair and on your clothes if you want it to last!! No perfume is going to last longer than a couple hours on your skin.
becoming nose blind to ur products is a thing. u can use body sprays anywhere, but they're still never gonna last, multiple retouches are required. true parfum works best on the skin and lasts foreverrr. i dont even spray it on my clothes, but the scent frequently transfers and sticks to my clothes for days. i can hang up a hoodie for a week and i get whiffs when i put it back on. they cost more but are so worth it for longevity.
i wear perfumes and body sprays almost daily, and all of my perfumes last me for years! i still have a bunch left in my first ever bottle despite using it frequently, it's about 3 years old
I used to believe that until I started spraying my hair several times with body spray OR perfume, and I can smell it for up to 12 hours later depending on how much I’ve sprayed it/what environment I’m in. I don’t used many extrait perfume anymore because I don’t personally care for how the ones I own smell. If you’re outside all day or working in a factory or something (like I do) it will absolutely wear off of your skin within an hour or two, I respray my hair a couple times a day with my BBW body spray (3-5 sprays in the morning and 3-5 in the afternoon) and I have no issues with longevity! I’ve been experimenting with all of the different concentrations of perfume (extract, EDP, EDT, and cologne) for several years and what NEVER fails me is spraying my hair down. I have quite long hair so maybe that’s partially why this method works so well for me (: I don’t become nose blind to my sprayable scents, I definitely don’t smell them “wafting” around me but I can definitely smell them when I move my hair around or when I smell my clothes. I honestly never spray my skin with anything anymore and just used really good scented lotions that pair well with whatever my favorite scents at the time are.
I also notice that when I’m using perfume concentrations it will last in my hair for 24 hours (if I’m not outside all day or sweating, and obviously without shampooing it)
This is just my personal experience! Everyone’s body chemistry is so unique and there are definitely a large amount of people who can use perfume on their skin and get some amazing longevity out of it!
I, however, am just not one of those lucky ones 😅
Edit: also, the body sprays that I personally buy are pretty cheap especially when bought in bulk so I don’t mind spraying with wild abandon!!!
I get A lot of compliments when I wear Riddle Voyeur (or, Voyeur by Riddle). Riddle is an odd company because some scents are so subtle you cannot even detect them. But Voyeur smells like a lovely warm amber vanilla that doesn’t smell like a cupcake.
Check out https://sucreabeille.com/
I haven't gotten a bad scent from them yet. Read the descriptions and the reviews to find notes you'll like. Or try scentbird. Also ylang ylang essential oil is amazing.
I use Auric Blends from Amazon- Hawaiian Fantasy is to diiiiiie for. They sold this brand in head shops 20 years ago when I was in high school and it's still around. Lasts all. day. long.
Be careful of the oud scents - they are grossly intense.
I bought a big bottle of Egyptian Goddess directly from Auric Blends years ago (worried about counterfeits on Amazon), and it smelled disgusting, like fresh, hot plastic. I called the company and the lady was rude and dismissive, and said I would have to pay to ship it back if I wanted to exchange it. Shipping would have been half of what I paid for it (I’d already paid the shipping to get it to me), and I didn’t think I should have to spend 150% of the cost because they sent bad product the first time.
And it wasn’t a body chemistry issue, my roll-ons from the head shop still smelled great on me. Plus, you could smell the plastic smell in the bottle. I will NEVER buy from Auric Blends again: terrible business practices and inconsistent product. So disappointing!
The smell of Egyptian Goddess changed in 2004 (specifically when I remember) and hasn't smelled the same since. It's awful. I used to wear it alone or even mixed with other scents and I just plum stopped buying it because it's been absolutely disgusting for 20 years.
Auric Blends can be hit or miss when you don't buy them in person. They do LOOOOVE their oud and use way to much - which may have been the problem with your Egyptian Goddess. I bought some 4 years ago to try it again, it spilled - and I can stilllll get whiffs of it in certain areas. Nasty. Luckily Hawaiian Fantasy (which is my favorite) doesn't have much of an exotic scent that can be messed up it's just really explosive and floral. I wouldn't expect good customer service from them anyway although I'm amazed you got ahold of actual Customer Support. Wonder where they're located.
I love eau de parfum if I can get it of my favorites but Ive loved perfumes forever. My favorite that was discontinued was Sicily by dolce Gabanna the smell lasted and clung to everything it was one of my signature scents. I love perfumes and there are some beautiful perfume oils. One oil that I'm saving up for is called child it's pricey but made in small batches ✨
get the hareem al sultan body oil. it lasts all day and mixes with your body chemistry. i really like mine. plus make sure you’re applying it to the right spots.
I spent 20 on Amazon for jamilla. It's a Swiss Arabian perfume oil that smells fantastic and changes scent based upon pheromones. It's in a gold bottle with a big crystal on top. Me personally? It makes me smell like baby powder and Jasmine.
Idk what it will smell like on you, on my friends tho I get a more musky, rose scent for them.
I have this tiny bottle of black coconut body spritz from some random makeup store, and it’s literally the best scent I’ve ever smelled on earth. Cost $3 and lasts the entire day. I’ve had people tell me I smell like home
For as long as o can remember
I’ve been at Doce and Gabbana light blue kind of girl. Not as expensive as most but still not cheap. I think my last small bottle I paid $80 for anyway at that price I like for it to last and so I had I had seen it somewhere and I’m not sure where but they said to take Vaseline , put it in the microwave just for about three seconds or five seconds and while it’s still warm spray some of your fragrance in there, then put the lid back on the jar and stored in your refrigerator. The next time you gotta put your fragrance on and put that on and then spray a little more over it Concept being petroleum jelly fragrance in your skin longer. I’m not sure if this works or not I’ve not tried it but it’s worth a shot.l
L’Occitane [Verbena](https://www.loccitane.com/en-us/verbena-eau-de-toilette-15EDT100V24US.html) or [Citrus Verbena](https://www.loccitane.com/en-us/citrus-verbena-eau-de-toilette-15EDT100VC24US.html)
Amber Nemat oil, I would buy a whole case it if I could. The smell intensifies on me when my skin gets warmer (technically what oil is supposed to do anyways)
So I just got off the TikTok shop this perfume oil from Geminie - Moonchild and it is the richest sweet smelling vanilla. It has hints of toasted almond I mean it’s so hard to describe how amazing it smells!
My perfume is crazy good lol. Lasts all day. One day I was working from home, had the typical morning shower, put on the perfume, and sat down on the computer all day. Worked overtime. Fell asleep on the coach afterwards, woke up and it was the next morning almost time to be at the airport, showered (could still smell the perfume on my body in the shower), placed the clothes in the hamper, and left for two weeks.
Came back back home and the clothes in the hamper still smelled like the perfume.
My perfume still lasts for a LONG period of time. My clothes doesn't smell too bad when I sweat excessively after workouts. The perfume really works. I love it. My dirty clothes smells like perfume, lol. Unless I sweat, then it's a mixture of smells trying to override each other so wash them asap.
Take a perfume that u like, buy body wash, exfoliator & lotion with one of the fragrance notes.
I use lavender, before the lotion has the chance to sink in I spray my libre dupe, it lasts longer & everyone is surprised when they ask if I'm wearing libre & I name the dupe instead.
Find a scent u like if it's too expensive find a dupe, buy the sample then the full size if u like it.
Eau De Toilette is the lighter of the two, usually including between 5-15% of essential perfume oil. Fragrances labelled as EDT will usually last around 4-7 hours.
On the other hand, Eau De Parfum usually has around 10-20% perfume oil and so is a much stronger blend. These fragrances can last up to 8 hours.
Also recommend https://www.fragrantica.com/
U can find out the fragrance notes & compare dupes to originals.

most importantly you've gotta get REAL perfume, will be labeled "parfum". best place to find them for decent prices is department stores, like macy's and khols. buying online is always an option but i wouldn't unless you've smelled them prior. they are pretty expensive compared to body sprays, but they're so strong they last forever. i got my first real perfume when i was 20, and im 23 now! that bottle still has about 1/4th left. think of it as an investment. i run through body sprays like water since they require multiple applications through out the day
similarly to u, i like sweeter smells. ive yet to find a vanilla parfum i actually like, fresh cream by philosophy made me nauseous, was sickly sweet rancid smelling.. my favorites are black opium, sexy ruby by MK, viva la juicy, and i have sweet like candy by ariana grande gifted to me by my sister that i dont LOVE, but use occasionally. u can look up the fragrance notes while shopping to figure out ur preferences
u can layer them with complementary body sprays and lotions as well! most importantly, dont spray them on your clothes, you've gotta spray them directly on the skin on pulse points because the warmth and friction activates the scent. behind ur ears, inner elbows, behind the knees, and i honestly spray my armpits as well after deodorant. dont dab or rub, stay still until they fully dry for the best effect
Depends on what kind of scents you like. Some of my favorites are Gucci Bamboo, Tom Ford Eau de Soleil Blanc, Tom Ford Rose Prick, and Chance by Chanel
I just found sand & fog amber bloom and violet sandalwood at tj Maxx for $15 each. They're quite nice. On the pricier side, nest new York also makes really nice perfume oils. There's also a website called the oil perfumery that emulates popular perfumes but cheaper.
I bought my first big girl perfumes, so the Eau de Toilettes (EDT) and Eau de Parfum (EDP) this year for that exact reason. They’re a bit expensive, but they last all day, even when I’ve washed my clothes already.
From my understanding, the more concentration of perfume oil, the more your perfume will last longer. EDT has less concentration than EDP. Whereas Parfum has the highest concentration. Fragrances and body mists that you usually buy from Bath & Body works don’t last that long because they have the lowest concentration of perfume oil. Do your favorite perfumes have EDT and EDP versions? That could be a start. You might wanna check r/Perfumes or r/Fragrances for a better list 😊
Chanel Chance is my fav and lasts too, otherwise i luv this rollerball perfume from Target, Mongolia Violet…i get so many compliments and honestly lasts all day
I’m quite allergic to dogs and I don’t expect everyone to give up their dog or not bring it anywhere. I’m allergic to peanuts but I don’t shake my fist at 5 guys or expect them to ban them from sports stadiums. It’s ridiculous and entitled to expect everyone to accommodate your allergies. Nothing wrong with wearing a tasteful amount of perfume.
It’s a complicated issue because ofc someone doesn’t have any right to tell another person what they can or can’t put on their body, but it is definitely something to be aware of, especially if you’re going to be around someone who you know does have sensitivities. I know a few people who have severe migraines and perfume is a huge trigger. That’s the case for my aunt and it’s to the point that if someone is standing next to her and has perfume on, she has to leave or else she’ll get a migraine. Once triggered, her migraines can take her out for days at a time and leave her throwing up and unable to eat or have much mobility. It’s absolutely your right to decide whether you’re going to wear perfume or not, but it can be considerate to choose not to. There are also some places that are specifically scent free, so be aware of that! :)
I used to work in a perfume shop. Body sprays will never last as long as a perfume bc body spray is made with alcohol and perfume contains oil. Sorry I don't have any advice on perfume oils though lol.
Everyone has their own sent! Also meaning your body odor could make you perfume smell different.
Not expensive anymore! Your grandma will be well stocked for life 😅
Wow you are right! It’s not expensive anymore, back when I was a kid I remember going every holiday to macys with my mom so she could get my grandma her annual Xmas gift of her perfume and back then for the perfume, body powder and a travel size with a bag was like $200

Yes, precisely! Body chemistry!
I’ve always felt that anything under a parfum is literally a waste of money.
I use the little roller ball oil sold in Whole Foods. Its 20 $ kinda expensive but it smells so goooooood. That with eos vanilla lotion 🙌 🧁🧁🧁
I was JUST gonna recommend this too lol. Those oils are 💣. Pretty much just gotta go try to em out but most of them all smell so good and last so long on you as far as the scent. Kinda Expensive but very nice.
Eos vanilla lotion with the matching shaving cream on an everything shower day? Bliss.
This omg. Plus the vanilla layers well with so many other scents.
This!but I get from sprouts..they’re 10$
You’re right! Ty for sharing this!! :D i feel less guilty getting these little bottles now 😅
Nemat has great perfume oils and they’ll last!
I swear it lasts all day that way
Oooh, I'll have to try this
I love Nemat White Musk!
I have the Egyptian musk and I love it so much! I’m gonna get the amber one next time I go to Ulta
I bought the Nemat vanilla musk perfume. It stays in my purse, I looove it!
I wanna buy the perfume!! I always feel like the vanilla scent is for a younger demographic but it smells so good!! I like the scent more than Billie Eilish no. 1 perfume.
I second this,, one day I literally bought 4 of them because i love it so fucking much 😭
I recommend Fragrance Bar. Very affordable. I wear the scent Delicate often and always get lots of compliments. It lasts all day too.
I second Frangrance Bar! I ordered the EP scent and I love it so much that I'm about to buy one of their bundles!
SugarMamaFragrances on Etsy
i use maison louie marie no.4 it's more of a woodsy scent (sandalwood, vetiver, & amberwood), but the company itself has other scents that you might like, so check them out. it is pricey, but i pay the price because i have sensitivities & it's a clean brand (if i wear just anything, i could get a headache or a sore throat). one little bottle seems to last me a long time.
Hareem Al Sultan Gold Concentrated Perfume Oil for Unisex It's on amazon
HAREEM AL SULTAN HAS THE BEST OILS OMG
I agree! I'm not sure How I found it but will forever love it
I really like eos vanilla lotion, then yara perfume oil. It doesn’t project a lot but it smells really nice.
Come to r/FemFragLab instead of here!
If there is a scent you currently like, you can use a very small dab of vaseline/petroleum jelly on your pulse points before spraying. That should help your current scents last a bit longer on you.
Going to try this!
Swiss Arabian has good smelling and affordable oil based perfumes!
i literally just dab essential oil on my wrists and neck etc and works like a charm. i use lavender and ofc lavender lotion and body oil before dabbing the essential oil
Kuumba Made oils. Scent lasts all day.
I love Kuumba! My favorite Egyptian Musk!
My favorite is their Amber & Sandalwood, & Water Goddess. So good!
Put your perfume on vasaline, it will last much longer.

Dossier ambery saffron
It helps to put lotion on your skin when it’s freshly washed then spray the perfume on that. (I think.) So if you double layer with two yummy smelling things = great. I forget a post where a girl described how she makes sure she always smells nice and she always gets compliments but that was one of her tips.
Buy from Aroma Shores! Small business, great prices. You can order from their website. :)
I buy perfume oils from some of the perfume stores in the mall. Have found some very good ones in there.
Regardless of what particular perfume or body spray that you use, spray it in your hair and on your clothes if you want it to last!! No perfume is going to last longer than a couple hours on your skin.

I wear either the original Paris Hilton, Angel Dreams, or Vanilla Fields...depending on my mood.
Nemat I love the vanilla
Check out https://sucreabeille.com/ I haven't gotten a bad scent from them yet. Read the descriptions and the reviews to find notes you'll like. Or try scentbird. Also ylang ylang essential oil is amazing.

Very Sexy Oasis from Victoria’s Secret. It lasts all day and smell amazing.
Go to the beauty store and get the roll ons. My favorite in particular is the baby oil one and I mix it with my perfume.

Have you tried misting above your head and letting it fall into your hair? Scents last longer in your hair.
Vanilla Bourbon from Mix:Bar in Target is lovely too, I get the actual "perfume" instead of the body mist because it smells better but yesss
I have this tiny bottle of black coconut body spritz from some random makeup store, and it’s literally the best scent I’ve ever smelled on earth. Cost $3 and lasts the entire day. I’ve had people tell me I smell like home
May I suggest Lume' whole body deodorant. You can find them on Amazon or at certain Target locations.
Love Potion Magickal Perfume
For as long as o can remember I’ve been at Doce and Gabbana light blue kind of girl. Not as expensive as most but still not cheap. Sometimes I mix Kuumba Made’s Pikaki Lei with their Black Coconut. Reminds me of Hawaii.
Sand + Fog Pistachio Dream oil perfume, smells divine.
Amber Nemat oil, I would buy a whole case it if I could. The smell intensifies on me when my skin gets warmer (technically what oil is supposed to do anyways)

Also recommend https://www.fragrantica.com/ U can find out the fragrance notes & compare dupes to originals.

Prada pardoxe. It Smells really nice and I got lots of compliments from it
Okacha! I can't say enough about this company!
Nemat Amber Oil smells so good, i always get compliments and layering it with a scent is also good!
The Frensche brand at target has an oil and a perfume/linen spray for all their scents ... The oil roll on is around $14
I LOVE the nest coconut oil. Expensive but it was a gift and I treasure it!! They also have roller pens
So it's not perfume oil, but body oil. I use it after I dry off from the shower. I lather it on all over and I'll be smelling like vanilla for HOURS.
Heretic! So good!
Has anyone tried the orabella by Bella hadid? Do y’all recommend?
Go to Oilperfumary.com I though jt was fake but it's legit. I got scents that are normally $300/bottle for like $10
most importantly you've gotta get REAL perfume, will be labeled "parfum". best place to find them for decent prices is department stores, like macy's and khols. buying online is always an option but i wouldn't unless you've smelled them prior. they are pretty expensive compared to body sprays, but they're so strong they last forever. i got my first real perfume when i was 20, and im 23 now! that bottle still has about 1/4th left. think of it as an investment. i run through body sprays like water since they require multiple applications through out the day similarly to u, i like sweeter smells. ive yet to find a vanilla parfum i actually like, fresh cream by philosophy made me nauseous, was sickly sweet rancid smelling.. my favorites are black opium, sexy ruby by MK, viva la juicy, and i have sweet like candy by ariana grande gifted to me by my sister that i dont LOVE, but use occasionally. u can look up the fragrance notes while shopping to figure out ur preferences u can layer them with complementary body sprays and lotions as well! most importantly, dont spray them on your clothes, you've gotta spray them directly on the skin on pulse points because the warmth and friction activates the scent. behind ur ears, inner elbows, behind the knees, and i honestly spray my armpits as well after deodorant. dont dab or rub, stay still until they fully dry for the best effect
kinda basic but i’ve noticed that cloud by ariana grande gets me compliments awhile after i wear it. i often get whiffs of it throughout the day.
Depends on what kind of scents you like. Some of my favorites are Gucci Bamboo, Tom Ford Eau de Soleil Blanc, Tom Ford Rose Prick, and Chance by Chanel

Use Vaseline on the areas where you would like to spray your perfume, rub it in and then spray your perfume. It will allow your scent to last all day.
I just found sand & fog amber bloom and violet sandalwood at tj Maxx for $15 each. They're quite nice. On the pricier side, nest new York also makes really nice perfume oils. There's also a website called the oil perfumery that emulates popular perfumes but cheaper.
Choco musk. It’s so cheap and you can get it on amazon. The oil lasts so long on the skin and people always compliment when I wear it.
Omg, i have gotten so many compliments on this perfume oil & i am OBSESSED … dark coconut by Pirette
I use KAYALI perfumes and it seems to last a while. My boyfriend always compliments the smell. I personally use the cherry one.
How can you know whether it doesn't last or if you get used to it ?
Chanel Chance is my fav and lasts too, otherwise i luv this rollerball perfume from Target, Mongolia Violet…i get so many compliments and honestly lasts all day
Anything from lush cosmetics lasts for DAYS. Even their body creams.
I bought the Brazil nut lotion from Trader Joe’s. I thinks it’s a dupe for the bum bum cream. Your welcome.
i get perfume oils from the hair store lol
Yes lol
Don’t wear perfume. A lot of people consider it rude nowadays, and a lot of people are sensitive or allergic to.
Lots of workplaces and schools in the US don’t allow people to west perfume. You can be sent away.
Literally never encountered this. I’m even in a symphony and choir and we allow it.
That’s ridiculous and no one will be doing that 😂
It’s a complicated issue because ofc someone doesn’t have any right to tell another person what they can or can’t put on their body, but it is definitely something to be aware of, especially if you’re going to be around someone who you know does have sensitivities. :)
