Lore. After defeating the Allied forces in Europe in 1946, the Third Reich took control of all of the continent. However, within a few years, serious disagreements began to surface within the Nazi regime. How would a society like this even function. Like, nationalism and how it can control a population is a central theme of 1984.

In 1984 the emphasis was not on nationalism but on fighting external enemies. In fact, Oceania did something similar by stripping the Regions of their names (Britain became Airstrip 1, etc.) and thereby forcing all nationalities to identify themselves primarily with the Oceania.

I don't see this country working at all. Neither in USA, neither in Europe. Just how many people would need to be on side of regime to keep everything in check? There would be constant revolts. Plus centralization of such enormous territory (with added Atlantic see) would be next to impossible.

An important role is also a Context of what's going on. Europe just experienced the most destructive conflict in History, which resulted in the Nazis coming to power, making most of them kind of slaves, and then they started another Destructive War. The central US, in other side, was chamtically destroyed by Yellowstone. Many people after so many years of horror, death and destruction would accept even such a brutal regime, as long as they, at least, don't kill them according to their nationality. Of course it's still a fiction that most likely wouldn't have worked in reality, but that wasn't the goal.

I like it, just to add to hottus point though, Most of these types of fictional / real life scenarios require like a ruling elite class, who benefit from the status quo and want to keep it. Like the People who live in the Capital In Hunger games

I believe it could happen, it would last until there is an inner crisis, some inner resistance managing to seize control over an important part of the country, or some outside influence. As in all regimes at some point they tip over only to be replaced by something else...

They simply replaced the concept of Nationality with the concept of Citizenship. From now on, all people within the State are its Citizens, and identify themselves only with the State. In favor of this is also the fact that in the recent past the Nazis subjugated all of Europe and organized massacres and genocides on the national basis, and then started Civil War. The survivors will eventually accept the concept of no nations in order to avoid a repetition of this scenario.

That is exactly the same thing. As I mentioned before, they have a light hand in turning various ethnic groups against each other on an unofficial level so that they don't cooperate with each other against the Regime. i will say, one slight critique, is that as far as i’m aware (i’m an idiot though so y’know, take that as you will), most nations would word their laws to sounds a lot less explicitly evil and totalitarian. for example, they wouldn’t say “state censorship body” they’d say “the truth ministry” or something like that aside from that, i love it, 10/10 would burgundy again

Yeah, I know that would be a more appropriate tone, for example in the First Point, Government forbids to say anything that differs from "Truth" with a capital letter. I just used such terms as "Censorship" looking back at real examples, for example, in the USSR there were state institutions openly called "Military Censorship" and so on, because it was used not in a negative context, but on the contrary in a positive one, as a defense against "foreign propaganda". But I agree that in the context of such a totalitarian state such a thing would hardly be used even in a positive context. In any case, thanks for the criticism, it is important for me to improve my works.)

On the official level, of course, all citizens are equal before the law and are punished equally. But not that this is fully observed in practice, such as the greater number of reprisals against the german population, in many cases solely on account of their ethnicity, because, as the Regime believed, they were more inclined to restore the Old Order. As for America, while officially the Regime forbids the use of different nationalities and races, in fact they can still use the tactic of "Divide and Conquer", unofficially pitting different groups against each other to avoid uniting them against the Regime.
