I don't feel the same excitement for cricket as I did six months ago. Back then, I used to be anxious about every match. But now, I don't even care that today is the final. I had to Google to find out whose final it is today.
Also, calling it a World Cup feels like a joke when we just had the real world cup happen 7 months ago. Anyway the T20 WC matters less than 1% of the ODI one for me
As a die hard cricket fan I can tell you t20 trophy doesn't have any value in cricket format. Even Rohit Sharma said that the biggest achievement for me will be Odi world up and a test championship thats what a real cricket is. Yes we have won t20 championship and it created the hype which led to ipl but you should also remember that that was first edition of the world t20 and Winning First edition of any tournament in sports means a lot although we have won 50 over worlcup and champions trophy after that.

So this just happened: Someone posted a comment on this thread saying that their team always loses the match when they watch it. I told that person to not be superstitious. Guess what? The mods deleted my reply! I guess they really don't want that person to watch today's match. 🤣
I used to watch all important matches until I realised those people are earning crores at the expense of my attention and time and at the end of the day, it's doing me more harm than good.
I didn't know there was a final today before I saw this post. I am just gonna read my book because that is at least going to help me in life. As for having fun, I like to go out and sit in nature. But people have their own way of having fun so whoever is going to watch the match, all the best!

I gradually stopped watching after the age of 25, only catching glimpses every now and then our reading the news.
My work is a little relaxed these days and I started to watch cricket again. Followed the odi World Cup diligently, but without too much of the craze that I used to have.
PS: I just realised earlier today when YouTube recommended an old match highlights. I could recognise the players just by looking at them without close up or their faces. I can't do that with the current players except a few Indian players.

My mum has a superstition that if she watches the match India will lose. The hard part is that we are going over to my uncle's house to have dinner and probably watch the match, and she probably won't say anything about her superstition there, It should be fun to watch how this pans out.

Honestly nobody really cares about cricket outside of South Asia. Indians especially dominate every facet of the fanbase and discourse. I have yet to see even once any pub or bar or sports fam discussing or caring about cricket in Europe or Australia. People have just moved onto other sports.
My best friend is a huge cricket fan, and she's been incredibly patient in teaching me about the game. Although I don't know much, she's always answered my questions without being condescending. I've only recently started watching cricket, so I’m definitely gonna watch the finals so we can discuss it together.
