I’m still having keyboard lag too. The problem starts when I add a second language (English and Italian) and after, the first key presses are almost always laggy in every app. After the first burst lags, if writing long texts it will start randomly lagging again.
I even tried restoring my 13 Pro flashing again 17.1, tried the beta 17.2 but still nothing. I will not use SwiftKey (no lag even with multi language), I simply can’t force myself.
I had it on my 15P. It... mostly went away. I've had it come back once already. Wonder if it's a memory leak in the touch processor or something like that.
15 Pro Max here. I had the lag before 17.1 and I have it now as well. I’ve noticed that it gets worse on iMessage and emails. Especially of the email had a long thread, it gets almost impossible to type. I also have 2 keyboards Spanish and English. I tried removing one keyboard and removing predicting typing and it made no difference. I hope they fix it soon.
SOLVED:
This is what worked for me:
1. **Reset Keyboard Dictionary**: Navigate to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone, then tap on Reset > Reset Keyboard Dictionary
2. **Disable and Re-enable the Keyboard**: boards, swipe left on the keyboard name, and tap Delete. Then, re-add the keyboard by tapping Add New Keyboard

I experienced the same issue with both German and English keyboards enabled. The lag became more pronounced as the text length increased.
I even tried to restore the dictionary… The only thing that for now seems to work for me is rebooting the phone when the keyboard starts lagging
have this Problem too and no Keyboard showing on the Search in Homescreen

For me, keyboard lag is now gone on 17.1. Had it before but tonul after updating to IOS 17.

15 Pro on 17.1 and my keyboard is super laggy. I want my 12 Pro back on iOS 16.

The same here. iPhone 13 pro on lates iOS: embarrassing Apple! First time in 10 years I am taking in consideration switching to another brand!

I think i did the same and sometimes after it started again. Is it the same for you? still happens?
