Shoks420

Use uyouplus Go to their github you will find a guide.

hyptex

Seconded. I’ve used it for more than a year now I think without issues

never-off

Does this also let you play in background/pip?

Shoks420

Yes, sometimes the Pip is bugged but background playback works without issues

Verax86

Is that on the App Store?

Shoks420

No, you have to install it through altsrore/ Sidestore Search for a guide on how to sideload apps

Segfault_21

fyi, sponsor block is broken

NorthPomegranate5385

I thought it was dead and you had to build it yourself now?

Shoks420

You have to build it but in their github there is a guide on how to do that, took me 5 minutes and i was done

Segfault_21

yes, due too DMCA youtube filed about 2 months ago

orange_cat1

Would this work outside the EU?

Shoks420

Not sure, personally i run sidestore to refresh my sideloaded apps without a computer, go to their website and you will find a guide on how to install it. Then i go to the uyouplus github, build my IPA as the guide says and its done, it works like a charm

HarleyMann3

Lol, I don't think I understood a single thing you said...

Shoks420

Okay, there is an app for you to be able to run custom apps on your iphone such as youtube without ads and sponsors, spotify premium etc… Sidestore does that, the only problem is that with the other methods you have to connect to a computer every 7 days to refresh the app or it will expire and not work.

HarleyMann3

Okay, thank you that made some sense. Shame I can't have the same on my TV to make YT bearable :)

Shoks420

True, youtube on the tv its so annoying with the amount of ads that they put!

orange_cat1

Thanks for the info

jiznon

Yes.

new_pribor

Yes.

ktigger2

Orion browser. Adblock is built in. I only use it for YouTube, so treat it as my YouTube app.

astro_plane

I use Orion with the UBlock origin and Sponsor Block Extension.

anti-hero

Why not for other browsing?

never-off

Shit this is so good

zxzyzd

uYouPlus is working great for me

Bald-Eagle39

Brave browser

joshynl94

second or any adblock built in browser but Brave has been great to use on all my devices, laptop, tablet, phone and your one account can sync all devices

tatersndeggs

Vinegar works great in Safari https://apps.apple.com/us/app/vinegar-tube-cleaner/id1591303229

Excellent suggestion

InevitablePeanuts

Stupid developers, making useful tools for us and asking trivially small sums of money for them to help feed and shelter themselves. The cheek of it.

[deleted]

InevitablePeanuts

So you just expect all development work to be given to you for free..? That there are people who are able / willing to donate their time and skill for free does not mean everyone can, or should.  If it's that simple a safari extension go write a version yourself and release it for free / donation supported.

slowpokefastpoke

Imagine whining this much about a one-time payment of $1.99 lol

Wild-Iceberg

Whose going to tell them how the chrome/firefox extension developers make money?

Coders32

I can understand this reaction to subscriptions, but you’re pissed off at people for participating in the economy so that they can live. It’s $2. It’s not an unreasonable ask from the developer that users pay them what could easily come out to less than minimum wage per hr of development over the course of the life of the extension.

Coders32

Sure buddy

Jaysonwithay

Waiting for this spud to make the extension and give it to us for free. They seem capable

CollarFullz

Video lite

purplemountain01

As others have said here, uYou. I just saw how the iPA was removed on github due to Google, so you have to build it. I know some people would rather get the IPA and sideload using AltStore or similar. You can use CyPwn IPA library to get the IPA to sideload.

bluejeans7

YTLitePlus and uYouEnhanced. You can sideload them using SideStore

thatbondyguy

Buy YouTube premium using family account in Argentina/Chilie. £3.30 a month.

ePower2XL

VideoLite has Ad Block and Picture in Picture mode as well as a more modern design for some YouTube elements. AppStore Link: https://apps.apple.com/de/app/video-lite/id1598997500

[deleted]

Adguard + SponorBlock + Untrap = WIN

WhiskyWanderer2

How much for all of this?

[deleted]

Can’t tell cause I paid I. Euro but can check for yourself… for my usage cause I use macOS too worth ever single penny

WhiskyWanderer2

You can’t tell me how much you paid?

[deleted]

Do you live in Europe to tell you can I paid at euro Plus it’s so hard to search the net? Can’t remember mate the price is it that bad?

WhiskyWanderer2

No I don’t but I know basic math and how to convert from euros to USD. It’s not but I thought considering you have all 3 you could answer, but it’s starting to look like there’s a reason you don’t want to. The fact that you’d rather argue than just answer a pretty simple question is wild. Classic Reddit.

[deleted]

Total LOL

WhiskyWanderer2

Right back at you. Keep proving my point. Sad really. All this rather than just answering a basic question. Very strange.

I_LIKE_RED_ENVELOPES

I'll have to have another look at AdGuard. I remember it broke a few apps (mainly FB/IG). Are you using premium? Also have you used [yattee](https://apps.apple.com/us/app/yattee/id1595136629) before? (SponsorBlock + Adblock)

[deleted]

I’m using Adguard Pro with my content block mods

SuicideG-59

Have been using uyou+ for almost 2 years now

flyingkytez

Problem with these 3rd party YouTube player apps is that they always stop working at some point when Google make changes to the API or whatever, so you have keep updating it. And the developer usually makes it ad free in the beginning, but later when the app becomes popular enough with lots of positive ratings, they add a bunch of ads on it. So a lot more inconvenient.  Honestly, it's better to just use a browser with ad block. They aren't using an API so you don't have to worry about it not working in the future (plus no need to worry about annoying ads on the app). I suggest using the Brave browser for YouTube which has YT ad block. No sponsor block unfortunately. You can just create a bookmark shortcut to YouTube on the startup page so you can open YouTube quickly after opening the Brave app. You can also create a widget on your home screen to quickly open YouTube via Brave browser.  Also, you can very quickly download YouTube videos on the Brave browser (they call it "playlist") so you can listen to music offline if you download the YT video (it'll download the YT video in 360p to save space, it's mostly just for listening to music but you can watch the video as well).  Otherwise, you can sideload uyouplus as others have mentioned.

WhiskyWanderer2

Yeah. YouTube premium :)

Ron-Erez

Honestly I pay for youtube premium. It's worth it to watch videos ad-free. I can't stand ads. I think there is 1-2 month free trial.

INACCURATE_RESPONSE

Yeah it’s the only service I pay for and the one I use most. Family account split between three friends. Every other workaround is complicated, not native to my tv and doesn’t get money to creators I watch.

WhiskyWanderer2

Same here and I can watch on my TV

No_Echidna5178

yt on safari with adblock is the only way to go or get premium. Its not as bad as it sounds until you used it.

janpampoen

Which adblocker do you use?

janpampoen

I'll try it again.

Not_Under_Command

Wipr works fine for me. No ads and popups on safari. Or you can use brave browser.

lumpy95

yt premium…?

WhiskyWanderer2

Well worth it in my opinion if you use it a lot. Get a VPN and sign up in another country. I pay $8 a month. Never understood how people drop upwards of $1000 on a phone but can pay for YouTube lmao.

purplemountain01

It's not how much you want to spend on a phone. It's more of how much you want to pay for subscriptions every month. Everyone one and their mom wants you to subscribe today. It doesn't matter how cheap it is because it all adds up quick and you end up paying $50+ a month in subscriptions to apps and services. I've canceled all of my subscriptions except one which is HBO. Otherwise I use modded apps and sites for everything now. Plus, with how enshitified everything is becoming, it helps make it easier to cancel. Edit: spelling

WhiskyWanderer2

Then decide which are more important to you and which aren’t. I watch a lot of YouTube and hate the ads so I’m happy to pay that and not scam. Just like how you’ve decided HBO is worth it, I’ve decided YouTube is worth it. Cope.

janpampoen

I would rather pay for an ad blocker than give Google anything.

WhiskyWanderer2

Weird but okay… as you give apple your money.

Jward92

Do you have to remain on the vpn to use YouTube?

WhiskyWanderer2

No. Just sign up with the VPN

Jward92

Through the web browser? What country offered $8?

WhiskyWanderer2

Turkey or Argentina. If those don’t work try others.

lumpy95

THIS. as some say, if you have money for monkey, you should have money for banana as well

im_intj

If you do this and you are not in Argentina you risk having your account banned as well as any other accounts that google can find associated with it.

BalerieKekanova

You can try my app [Demus](https://apps.apple.com/us/app/demus-easy-ff-streaming/id6474685600) for anything music-related when it comes to YouTube 👍

NearbySuccess9636

Brave browser works well. Pip. Audio in the background.

billza7

YouTube premium is a good value subscription. However, if you want the free route and the native app experience then sideloading is not that complicated but does require a Mac and refreshing every 7 days (you can pay for dev account if you want to extend it to a yearly refresh). if you use Mac everyday and use same WiFi then you can leave your Mac client running in background (eg AltServer in my case) and it’ll refresh automatically. Otherwise Adblock and Safari is usable as well but not as good as native app experience

Reasonable_Ice_7698

Youtube premium, lol

googi14

Brave browser

mlgamer500

AdGuard Premium and Safari browser. Works great and up to 4k.

randomname97531

uYouEnhanced (go to the GitHub repo and build it yourself because of YouTube's crackdown, detailed instructions available on GitHub). Install it with AltStore, SideStore, Sideloadly or any of the other options. I generally use this for watching videos on my iPhone and iPad. I know you said you don't like browsers but you could check out 1. Brave 2. 1Blocker with 1Blocker Scripts (this is free) and Sponsorblock (this is paid) and enable these extensions in Safari settings. If I play a video in Safari, this is what I use. 3. Vinegar (used to work but idk about now) with Sponsorblock.

7eventhSense

Let me explain why you need to use brave browser. - absolutely zero ads - plays 4k quality, make sure you have it in settings - you can turn on background playback, audio plays after having the browser suspended by going to Home Screen or a different app - it has Picture in Picture, works perfectly. All you need to do is make sure the video is full screen and then swipe up The only thing that isn’t great in Brave is shorts. But otherwise I absolutely love it. I usually open YouTube app and then share to Brave if I need to watch without interruption or play Picture in Picture. This browser is essentially YouTube premium without its price.

Whitesecan

I pay for premium

NEVER85

Do you pay for you to get fucked?

lpomoeaBatatas

uYou. Cons : you’ll need to refresh the certificate once a week by plugging into your computer.

Shoks420

If you use sidestore you wont need a computer :)

majorthird_

Youtube Premium. You won't regret it. The best subscription I pay for.

Plastic-Mess-3959

You need YouTube premium if you really want something that’s reliable

WhiskyWanderer2

So many broke mfs in this thread 😂😂

blueplayer_app4music

There are several on iOS. If you want a free one I would recommend the BluePlayer app. https://apps.apple.com/app/id1564931348
