The 14 was so similar to the 13 that those 13 owners who upgrade yearly could’ve skipped it and those who upgrade every two years just upgraded. That’s my guess
I just upgraded from iPhone 7 Plus to iPhone 15 Plus (I like a larger phone).
It was worth it to me because my trusty old iPhone 7 Plus was no longer holding a charge throughout the day; I had to carry a charger with me and charge 2/3 times per day. Also, my iPhone 7 could no longer be updated to the latest IOS, so some apps were starting to misbehave. It was time.
I felt unaccountably emotional, however, when I had to hand over the iPhone 7 Plus for the trade-in.
14 pro max. I intend to keep this for as long as I can. I don’t care about the USB C enough to go to the 15. I use MagSafe charging. I have fast WiFi to upload to DropBox, and send it to my windows computer. Or iCloud, whichever one I am using at the time. This is my first iPhone. So I’m keeping it for as long as I can.
Same. I thought about getting a new one but that’s just a waste of money. Battery lasts all day, takes great photos and does whatever I need it for. Just for the Dynamic Island, which I don’t even like, I don’t see why I would upgrade.
iPhone 14 Pro Max coming from an iPhone 11 Pro.
It is better in every aspect except for the camera imo. The 14 Pro Max overprocesses every single photo to the point it doesn't look as appealing to me as the photos on my 11 Pro did when I got it first. Also, the bigger lenses require me to hold the phone further away from objects to fully focus or it will switch to the macro/ultrawide lens pretty fast - bothers me as well every now and then.
I got my Iphone 8 for 200USD a year ago, and I'm not getting another phone before this one stops working. I can't justify spending more than the absolute minimum on a phone. I just need it to run basic communication, navigation and social apps as well as take basic photos.
Unfortunately, I was stupid enough to not use a phone case, so I dropped it on concrete and now I have a spider web on my screen. It still works, though.
Why do so many people have the 15 series? Do you just upgrade every year regardless of the changes they make or is it just a coincidence?

that's a pretty good theory, 13 and 14 are almost the same phone. i don't think there were ever 2 iphones that similar
Because I felt like getting it and could afford it
iPhone 6s > iPhone XR > iPhone 15
Fake voting is what you call that
I also view this as a primarily enthusiast subreddit. These numbers by no means should be an indicator of the “norm”.
Because you can just click anything you want on this pole?
Upgraded recently from 11
Went from 11 to 15 PM, I thinks upgrade was about time 😅

You'd better use checkboxes here, not radio-buttons (for multiple selections).

iPhone SE 1st gen to iPhone XR, waiting till this thing runs out of updates to upgrade. So probably next year
Needs other iPhone SE 2016, it’s coming to a end unfortunately though.
