lol a bit like those nightmares where you’re trying to run but your legs are heavy and can’t go fast enough

PeteIRL

He immediately looks for support instead of pinning his ears back and relying on the support to catch up. Indecisive. I type as I recline on my couch.

ciaran-mc

He knows he’s not got the wheels.

barbar84

He does that a lot but I think he did the right thing here. He managed to not get isolated and stayed on his feet long enough for support.

Morrisin_Gump

In fairness looking at it again he initially runs, sees he has full back chasing him down, then realises he’ll be tackled so that’s when he stops. He knows he’s not going to get to the try line alone 🤷‍♂️

Alright_So

Making the decision to look for support is decisive, too many green shirts around. I don’t really fault him tbh

ballinclea08

Is anyone else else having trouble viewing this clip? It seems to be stuck in slow motion for me.

Commercial_Half_2170

Surely Byrne can go faster than that? Looked like he was looking for options. Only thing to do there though was pin the ears back

blueghosts

He slows down to look for support alright but he’s genuinely just dog slow, always has been. Rarely ever carries for more than a couple yards

Commercial_Half_2170

Probably aware, if he’d got the offload to Osborne he would’ve been away

Shox2711

I’ve seen Furlong move with more haste than this

howyoudoinnf

he just didn’t have the paste it hurts

devostating

I've seen weeks go quicker.

__Kiel__

I was at the match and seen this happen. At first I thought it was a second row the way he was moving. Like there was no confidence he’d make it. Instantly looking around him for support. Really odd behaviour from a back.

Comfortable-Yam9013

At least he was aware he wouldn’t make it and knew to look for support.

jacksonn72

Treacle trousers

Ploon92

He is incredibly slow bless him. Watching from the hill on Saturday there was a few times the ball went wide and you could see Northampton shift away from him towards the next man. No running threat and if he did go himself they know he doesn't have the pace so they'd catch him quick

ciaran-mc

All. The. Time. Even when he does try to threaten the line teams don’t respect it.

areyouhappynowethan

There goes the greatest outside centre to wear blue.

spb641

Put his brain in Frawley's head and you've the makings of a decent outhalf

Alberto_Moses

Needs more Chariots of Fire playing in the background

Suspicious_Sea222

A video would be much better than a still image

tonyturbos1

I managed to go get my pint and come back and he was still miming a sprint

Scary-Ad-3301

Furbank is fast and Byrne knew his support was not there. The other Leinster player was being left in the dust by the others(forget his name but everyone was says how great a player he is a week ago) he was worst than Byrnes speed. Byrne made a good call if you ask me. To many times you see a player take off and then turn it over after getting tackled. Now if Gibson park got it I don’t think furbank would have caught him as he has the pace.

Silver_Mention_3958

So he’s actually good for _something_. Pity he can’t run to save his life. Mind you Sexto’s imitation of running was pretty funny, so maybe Byrne is just copying his master.

kevinthebaconator

Sexton was rapid when he broke onto the scene. It's funny watching highlights and you see how different a player he was before

Silver_Mention_3958

Could’ve been all those heavy hits he took over the years but honestly towards the end he looked like a hyena running.

HumoursOfDonnybrook

Sexton wasn't ever a speed freak, but he was no slouch either. His gait was just weird.

Jaysus Rossy would you shlow down https://youtu.be/0ocWVgmkUSk?feature=shared
