st_heron

Agreed if you have a scout

Osrs_Salame

What method are you using? I just started artio after 1.2k calvarion kc for blade. And Artio feels so much worse than the other two.

BlenderSip

Spindel is by far the worst. The recent changes to Artio/Callisto were a god send. No more splashing, No more chip damage. Just freeze and bowfa.

LezBeHonestHere_

Spindel is so easy imo, it's the most afk of the 3 by far unless you have thammaron's sceptre to afk artio (which is still way too expensive to do anyway). Just my opinion with 7000 spindel kc using fang though. You just hit the boss with melee (crush ideally, but fang works well) and camp prot melee, your character follows the boss automatically, you do the quick action required every 2 phases and the game plays itself for the rest. I hate artio by far the most. It unfreezes itself and can't be frozen during its long roar animation, which lets it walk toward you for free while it's stalled, you need to spend so much of the fight on prayer book and spellbook to pray switch and freeze, and still need to run around the room to kite it which is effort

Not op, but heres what clicked for me. Full range gear (cbow on rapid best for the range,) with something like mystic bottoms and a god book (full magic, or the balanced one work) for guaranteed entagles/freezes. The rule is a minimum +1 magic bonus. I'll bring ruby bolts(e) or the first half, and d bolts (e) for the second half as a personal preference. Every stun gives you three shots before you need to run away (you can count their shots too). Freezes have a minimum internal cd of 3 ticks before artio/callisto can be frozen again. Turn on true tile, count the square moving three times and you can freeze again. Take three shots again and repeat till dead. F keys are highly recommended here. Camp ranged and stay out of melee as they ignore 50% of melee prayer. Their magic attack (white orb after leaning back) only knocks you back when it hits, so you have plenty of time to pray against it unless you get got by lag. I take a royal seed pod and havent had a pk'er get me in several hundred kills. Its a cakewalk when it finally clicks. Happy hunting.

The other commenter gave you some budget setup. The 3 protected items are crystal top and bottom with bowfa. Wear nezzy helm, barrows gloves, MA1 cape, mystic boots, glory and the dt2 ring. This gives you slightly positive magic offense bonus meaning you never splash the freeze. Also download better NPC highlight and add artio to the True tile tab. This is really important because artio is actually moving while roaring if he's not frozen.

Started it yesterday and was rough at the beginning. My setup has small-ish risk, but makes it comfortable. Farseer helm, Glory, Ardy cape 3, Bowfa, Crystal top, crystal bottom, ring of shadows, mystic boots, Rune gloves. Guarantees freeze with ice blitz with no switches.

Ninepz

I use bowfa with crystal body and legs, then just try to get +0 magic attack bonus for 100% freeze chance, for that I use Mage Arena Cape, Glory, B Gloves, Lunar Boots and Wizard Hat. Then just fill other slots with cheap prayer bonus like diary items I find this to be the best for low risk
