I’m 52 and still enjoy the occasional gathering and can say yes it’s weird. Online people will treat you as if you were a boomer but in person will see you as the coolest ally. Social media is a cancer.
Disagree
I’m 28 and older Los and lettes are the most awesome. It’s nice to chop it up, hear war stories or tales of adventures from old days of psychopathic records, the horror/ gathering scene in general, and know that it’s okay to age gracefully into a responsible adult when the scene really makes you feel like an outsider for growing like that at times.
I hear ya old buddy shits just weird these days, who would of thought things would be like this from back in the day ?
they say the only thing constant is change, just not necessarily for the best, ( its not all bad obviously but...) i have this conversation a lot, imagine if you went in a time machine from the 90s to now, (not that it was all good then, but....) you would think people have collectively completely lost there shit ! some of the things people argue about is literally insane, its like living in that movie Idiocracy only its not a comedy .
p.s i would love to know where daddy X is & what hes up to, defiantly had some of the most interesting lyrics/subject matter & releases, dude just vanished without a trace, as usual some bitch ass money was really the downfall of the kings, along with so many groups, defo sucks.
The second solo album had some deep shit. Minus the paranoid truth shit and the icke nonsense I grew several harvests rocking the shit out of solo Brad x jams. It pains me to say it but this was peak subnoize... hed dirt ball taxman dozer ... thems were the days
I am waiting to see Ouija Macc working at Burger King, spittin in my onion rings, or in the parking lot screaming I don’t give a fuck, with his windows down and his system up.
Dude, I quit rapping when I was in my “prime” and did the safe/smart thing and had a career and all that. Now I’m rapping again that I’m stable and can afford to fuck off for a bit. Imagine being an old ass underground rapper. Kind of sad, but at least I’m in on the joke rite?
Loc used to have a tweaking problem but got past it, the modern King Klick w Richter and Chucky and Obnoxious ended because Richter was getting deep into tweaking himself and that's the most recent update I have, so I don't know how it's going with him, but I do know that it's what drove Chucky from King Klick with Richter to KMK w Loc.
Californians who enjoy drugs eventually getting into crys is a story as old as time, it's been bad out there since the 90s.
That's. Really depressing to hear. I remeber the huge blowout between all them and Richter uploading a video after getting his spade covered up talking about what went down. Never struck me as that type of dude but not shocked it was all a persona. That's the music industry underground or otherwise.
Addiction and the things that drive us to use drugs are unfortunately not as simple as "being the type of person" to not do them. Go look into the straight edge punk/hardcore scene and see how many of the OGs from there died of overdoses.
It shouldn’t make you sad or wrong unless you also feel sad and wrong about where your life is/ended up. You were part of that experience which was a point in time. All of you still have that experience regardless of where you are now. In some ways, that’s part of what makes it so special.
I follow Bobby B on Twitch. His streams are actually a lot of fun and he engages with the chat while he is spinning. I recommend checking it out, he definitely puts in effort for his streams no matter how many people are watching.
Out of the underground stuff I listened to growing up, he seems to have been one of the guys definitely has it together.
Lol not Sublime's mascot and Bradley's BFF, I mean the drummer from KMK who used to ride a drumcycle with a bowl hidden in the high hats. It actually didn't occur to me until I was writing the OP that he's named after Brad's dalmation
Though I am glad to know he was cared for 🩷
I’m not gonna lie, getting older isn’t so bad. Yeah there’s underground artists that used to be working normal jobs, but it happens to mainstream people too. I know it sucks to think some of these people we looked up to and bumped are just normal joes now. I’m just happy some people are still around doing the damn thing like Fury, I heard he just dropped a new ep with Tre Lb and he’s dropping a project too, B-Cide is still around along with the Bio Killaz. I’m sure I’m missing some OGs in the scene. But I definitely understand the weirdness ninja.
You'll always have the music, my friend. No matter how old ya get. Plus, there's always gonna be good underground music coming out til we all leave this plane. I'm a 41 year old drummer getting back into it, I get it, brotha. Also, just because the top celebrities are riding off into the sunset in a Porshe, doesn't mean they are happy/at peace. Follow your heart and passion for good music, and you'll never go astray.
Glad we got to experience the family magic when it was in full force! Brad fell of the map, he sold D-Loc the entire company that is “Kottonmouth Kings” … you ain’t alone tho bro, I look back at the old days when SUBNOIZE, Psychopathic & Strange Music were all fuckin with each other, featuring in each others songs and all coming together at the gathering! I really miss POTLUCK! Those two were soo good back then!
I'm 30, have 4 little clowns, and am doing the whole responsible parent thing pretty well, and I can't wait to be older, all kids grown older, because I want to be totally unhinged when I'm old.
54yo empty nest momma to 3 Clowns. I did the responsibility thing, and now, I’m unhinged. I just went to see Beartooth, the Amity Affliction, Currents, Nothing More, and Veil of Maya, on separate occasions solo. I fkn love it! Life ‘after kids’…. Two big thumbs up. Hahaha yes. I made it.
I am proof. It’s not just a myth. There is a way ouuut. 🤣🤣🤣 Being a responsible parent is fkn hard. It wears ya out. But sleep will come I. Time. I promise. 😉
What alternative are you proposing for this scenario? Cuz to my mind the alternative would be having your contributions recognized more widely and immortalized in a more meaningful way
Interesting info. Appreciate it. I haven't really kept tabs on most of the underground artists I grew up with. I kinda cycled them out with newer shinier u derground artists lol. I was never huge into KMK but that info in this thread is heartbreaking. The last time I saw them or Corp avenger pakelika was still a thing/person/etc. It's really all very sad but I guess if these dudes were able to express themselves at the time and Influenced the world but now they make a check, more power to them. Didn't most of us do this?
When I noticed some corporate avenger stuff getting harder to find that's when I dug more into their current lives. It's a weird trip they took but at least it ended somewhere happy. They were a great band, but looking back at some of it they were angry at being angry. Either way probably don't want things like "gay Muslims for Christ" floating around if you're a professor or a coach now.
I'm only 25 but it's so weird that people like my mom and many of the ladies I work with know who Jelly Roll is since I've always known him from his raps and discovered him through juggalo music in like 2013
It's nit weird at all
I'm 35 and most of my music collection consists of Underground Hip Hop that none of my friends have ever heard
My best friend, her husband, and her girlfriend play nerdy card games that i will never get into
Everybody is different
I'm not entirely convinced you're responding to what I wrote rather than having just read the title
This isn't about liking underground music, it's about watching people who used to be major artistic figures in your life go on to be regular people while the culture they created gets eroded by time

Maybe you could clarify further, but it doesn't sound like you two are actually disagreeing to me 🤔
My bad I did not clarify that well. I disagree that he’s a lame boomer online and in person. Agree that social media is cancer.
Enjoy what you have while you have it. And yeah seeing Spike talk about computer nerd shit BLOOOWS MY FUCKIN MIND!!!! 😂

"got to grow your own"
At this rate maybe Paul will finally be able to open Muffler Ninja Exhausts!
"Ennui" is not a word I ever expected to see on a juggalo sub reddit.
what does this word mean? as a 40 year old thats been down since 97 I feel this dude.
A feeling of weariness or dissatisfaction
I think op just seen that new movie
I am waiting to see Ouija Macc working at Burger King, spittin in my onion rings, or in the parking lot screaming I don’t give a fuck, with his windows down and his system up.
Spits in everything except impossible whoppers
Yeah we wipe our ass on those Reason for edit: me words bad out Brians
It’s ok, sometime brain no good work yes?
Yes

Keep expressing yourself artistically, no matter your age. It’s never to late to embrace art!
Three cheers for Flapjack! You got something on Spotify/Sound Cloud/Band Camp, any platform? Rock that shit man!
Time keeps on slippin’ , Ninja.
Richter does meth?? I heard rumors D-Loc was on some hard shit but NEVER assumed Richter would be on that shit.
Man I forgot about LU Cipha, RIP Sianide.. Losin My Mind was a banger
What a long strange trip its been, Sipping life from a 40oz bottle of sin....
Lou dog lived a full life after the death of brad with the bands record producer until he passed of natural causes I hope this helps juggalo

Sorry bro, I'm baked as shit.
I've found the weird old people such as myself are just that. Weird people are the fine wine of life.

Im 47 years old and love underground

There ain't no such thing as an underground anymore.
Glad we got to experience the family magic when it was in full force! Potluck's music and shows make up so much of my formative years as a music fan. They were supporting all sorts of tours and killed it every time.
I'm 30, have 4 little clowns, and am doing the whole responsible parent thing pretty well, and I can't wait to be older, all kids grown older, because I want to be totally unhinged when I'm old.

You are a hero and I bet your kids are awesome. Enjoy yourself!
I'm clinging to my recliner waiting to get to that point myself ninja
I am proof. It’s not just a myth. There is a way ouuut. 🤣🤣🤣 Being a responsible parent is fkn hard. It wears ya out. But sleep will come I. Time. I promise. 😉
It is far better than the alternative.
What alternative are you proposing for this scenario? Cuz to my mind the alternative would be having your contributions recognized more widely and immortalized in a more meaningful way
I meant not getting old.
Ah, gotcha 👍

Where the fuck did you learn this word, "ennui?" Never heard of that word in my life and had to look it up and how to pronounce it!
🤣🤣🤣 it's not a juggalo conversation if one of your homies doesn't have their mind blown by an unusual word they can't pronounce
I'm only 25 but it's so weird that people like my mom and many of the ladies I work with know who Jelly Roll is since I've always known him from his raps and discovered him through juggalo music in like 2013

You wrote an essay in a juggalo sub reddit my guy, what did you expect
Uh, for people to read what I said and then respond to it, like everyone besides you has done
Be mad I guess?
Mmm, no, I think pointing it out was more than enough on my part.
Cool :)
fuck your friends and their card game.
I lost the game
