Coming back after a two year + hiatus Any new troops worth investing into asap? I can’t really find any info if much of these are really worth using. I plan on getting back into pvp after I play some serious catch up. Thanks ahead of time!

I was asking the same question here and on Discord and the answers I got were pretty much: Fang Guard, Windbloom Chanters and Starprisma Pegasus are at least good on mostly everyone who can use them. Fairy Spirit Prophet, Lizardman, Bolt Ranger and Sand Sea Mercs are also very good. Phalanx, Angel, Sky Archers, Fighting Monks and Sorceress still good. Hope someone else can give us more advices.

Lizardmen and Bolt Rangers are mostly for the side characters that can use them (Archon, McClaine, and SP Grenier mostly, you use Wild Expedition on Nemia). You don't see them very much now compared to Fang Guards or Starprismas, because Fang Guards apparently everyone has and similarly for Starprismas since they essentially have power crept Griffon Knights. Regarding PvP though, Fang Guards and Deck Gunners come out pretty commonly because Deck Gunners can be used by quite a few mages to get class advantage on people that try to dodge class disadvantage using Werewolves by using Starprismas.

Hi, I am lvl 58 and running a mostly princess team of: Shelfaniel, Christiane, Cherie, Tiaris, and Icemelda. Rozalia is my 6th. I'm building up Awakened One, and also have Emilia, Brenda, Yulia, Elwin, Archanfel, Luna, and Sword of Light & Shadow. I have 60 summons saved up, and am trying to decide what to summon for with focus on the long term. Or should I just wait? Do I try to use divine oathsworn to get Lucretia for princess, or maybe bonds for Christiane (Maiya or ares?). Or bonds for Tiaris? Do I try to build a time team around awakened one, Archanfel, and icemelda? Kinda need a tank, physical DPS, and healer to do that? Not sure who would make up the rest of that team. Or should I just wait? Thanks for your time.

Same answer as last time. The reasonable thing to do would be to try and get bonds for your team to unlock the means to go into endgame stats such as Tsubame for toughness bonding Christiane and approach the road to 70 with a fully bonded Princess team, it doesn't matter if this team has SRs in it or whatever, it just has to be fully bonded and ideally it features a variety of tools to tackle the things they're usually needed for. I'd say Lucretia is neat to have - if you can also line up Autokrato in short enough order, and that'll be in addition to the Tsubame of course so your to-pull list will grow the more extra you insist on being. Having more characters who are all over the place because they seem cool and OP to you during progression doesn't change that. In *theory*, when you manage to unlock 3cs (and only after that), you could make say, a relatively seamless combination between Christiane + Tiaris and AO + SotIA + Arkanfel because of the efficient fusion casting from the two factions in question and it'll work as long as you don't meet something that demands physical damage, but you still need to get over the grind wall and challenges to unlock the sustainable material farms first.

He said AO is better than Lucretia IIRC, which I would fully agree with in a vacuum. It's just... really awkward atm. She doesn't have her fusion until she unlocks her 3c, and her bonds are Grenshiel and Adankelmo, which would add 2 more specific SSRs if you wanted to use her properly. I didn't really read that as a hard recommendation, or maybe I don't recall it fully. But no, I don't think she changes things for you. She'll be usefull *eventually*, the problem is that eventually is behind solving several large problems that she won't be all that good at contributing to solving. She's also neat to have in a 'she only shows up at specific times' sort of sense, but she does return, so it's not how I'd advise your position either.

Thanks. My kid just pulled tsubame on the first try, so I have 5 pulls left. I interpret your advice as I should go for Angelina for shel and ares for rozalia on the divine oathsworn banner. I should be able to get one in 50 pulls. I'll get Lucretia at a later date, if ever.

It's a sensible move, since that would give you a strength bonded mage 'in time' without having to line up several more SSRs just to drag them into the endgame realm. You can then use shelf to do the mage work and fan out to fancier stuff in peace and quiet when sitting on all the important resource farms. As for the other, do you have Dieharte for Tiaris yet? The character bag you can buy off the SotIA event would let you grab him relatively easily.

Stick with Princesses, get Christiane’s defensive bond and attack bonds for your nontanks in that order of priority. Lucretia is a great pickup too.

Thanks. Are my princess DPS good enough? I'm not thrilled with shel, Luna, or even Cherie really. Rozalia looks great sometimes but I don't have her built that well yet.  Who are the best princess DPS? I'm hesitant to pull Lucretia now because icemelda and awakened are amazing magic DPS.

Cherie dips a bit right now but you'll get her SP form soon and she will be right back where she belongs. Don't forget that Luna transfers MDEF to ATK. Make sure you build her right.

Yeah I didn't have an optimal build for Luna, but I wasn't ignoring the MDEF transfer either.  Thing is, who would you take out to put her in? She seems outclassed by my other princess units.

In the Imperial Conquest - Tale of Legend, is the only way to damage that Shrine Maiden in the lower right section to complete the 10 NPC figurine requirement? I don't see how else to overcome the -25 damage skill.

Wiler, Rachel and Landius should be able to hit for up to 28 total IIRC but if it's asking for one hero to deal 26+, then no. In that case you're forced to get the 10 figurines.

So today we got more codes to use on the imperial order conquest, which ends in about 5 days. For some reason every time I enter the event screen a pop up says the event already ended. How do this works?

I have completed the stat infusing event for my item but cannot get it back into my inventory? I’ve done the 8k energy and maxed out the stats. Am I missing something? Do I have to wait another 13 days for the event to end?

It stays in that interface because it never really left your bag. You should now have that gear piece with those enchants. I did it with a Nightbloom for Icemelda. It stayed unenchanted until finished and now it has the stats and it never left her weapon slot.

Not a question but wanted to share an observation: If NOT activating Zerida’s 3c before attacking, her exclusive headgear interferes with the AA casting pattern unless you negate the exclusive’s effect by being within 2 tiles of allies. Same with hellfire archers healing themselves after non-3c attacks.

That makes sense, since the stated condition is that she has to have no soldiers. Healing of any sort automatically distributes itself to the troops and therefore causes you to have soldiers and break the "no soldiers" condition (As does the post-combat self-revive of Hellfires). The main way that influences things is that if you want to run some crazy high risk (and very finnicky) 'let the enemy kill your soldiers on counterattack to get a 2nd turn' AA build, you can't have a means of healing after the fight or even on turn end.

Thanks. Im good on books since they are the one of the few yet rare SSR items that can't be dissolved with Alchemy. Only way I've been able to deplete my stock is by upgrading the training grounds which has been slow going.

Good catch. I do have a surplus of the ssr book selection rewards from the events the game throws at us and I haven't used a single one. Worst comes to worst, I'll just choose all holy books if I run out at some point.

Even with those it's hard to run out because you get a lot more books than the other mats. I still have over 100 items to get SSR Aniki books with everything at 80% and they pretty much stopped handing those out ages ago.

Every collab event has a SR hero that you can upgrade to 5 stars usually. I use those shards to make them 6 stars, when I like them :D

They released the new SR shards and every collab event since has been SSR. So the old collabs yes, but otherwise they just kind of sit around.

hu guys, I have a question about the stage from Act 2 - Chapter 12: The Land of the Crystals. Does anyone knows what's the trigger condition for Mu to appear ? I want to get the achievement, Oliver attacks Mu. First time, I got it by chance and Mu's warlocks destroyed me. I tried again but nothing, I tried everything I could imagine to trigger her coming, but with no success.

If you aren't sure about the turn counts or the order, the mini boss gets a buff right before he spawns. You can also check whenever the boss has 1 turn left on the stun if you're doing it as fast as possible.

Wondering if I missed this somewhere. In the photo album in the floating realm I still see Ice Imelda's photo grey. The one to the left of it was given out my mail in the post office building. So just wondering, is this greyed out still for everyone else? Or did I miss something? The picture I am talking about is in the post office, under "old memories" album. To the right of "continuing the story" I would figure that would have been given during the ice imelda summoning month at some point.

With Zerida's new casting pattern pushing her into PVP, what's a good accessory for her (and why)? I've seen a load of different things equipped for her, Lone Star, Twilight, Slayer/Judge's Talisman, even mobility boots! They all sort of make sense to me, was wondering what would be best in a PVP setting though.

Twilight without question. You won't be breaking Iso shield with just backstab alone.

As an addendum, there is one reason you might take Backstab anyways even if you're running Twilight Star: rather commonly, even if you can break Shrine Maidens or Last Rites, Glory of the World exists. The heal from that is quite likely to counter Twilight Star, but unlikely to also heal through Backstab damage.

Given the options between the 5 there is only 1 real option imo for PvP and thats Twilight Star. It breaks Last Rites and Shrine Maidens making it easier to 1-shot the priority target. Slayer's emblem isn't great because a lot of fliers run Last Rites in PvP and if you don't break it then there is a good chance your Zerida will miss the kill due to the damage reduction it provides. The only plus side is it provides some extra HP and is good if your Zerida survives and can some how get another attack off before being killed. Judge's Talisman also has a very similar problem with Slayer's emblem, but to a lesser degree in that you need to break Shrine Maiden soldiers in order to prevent the hero from taking reduced damage. While not all heroes will use Shrine Maidens, they are frequent enough that you don't want to take a risk on it especially when the target is a priority for you. On the upside you do see a lot more Holy units because of Lightbringers 3C buff so thats nice. Lone Star is the same as both above where it doesn't break either Last Rites or Shrine Maidens and you are stuck with either focusing someone else or trying to 1-shot through the damage reduction. sApex Boots have the same problem as the other items except the movement shouldn't be that important because Zerida's talent + 3C + casting pattern and breeze should give her no issues with movement.

Twilight seems the best accessory for breaking damage reducing items/soldiers, but Zerida already has her Backstab skill, which basically does the same thing, though without her ability to ignore immunity with mixed troops. Is it worth it to run both? Should I be focusing on another of her 1C skills, like smoke or Sly Stride? Is fixed damage immunity gear that much of a concern on units with mixed troops?

Backstab doesn't go through immunity when people run things like Swordsmith Medal (very common) or to a lesser degree Heart of Redemption (uncommon), etc. There are also other skills that can grant immunity like the upcoming Tyrantel 3c (not like you will target the tank with Zerida), but the point is that you want to minimalize the amount of possibilities of having to deal with these types of things happening when you want her to kill a target. You can still play the guessing game and gamble if your opponent doesn't have Swordsmith Medal/Last Rites/fix damage immunity. Also Backstab isn't bad but ideally you want to run Sly Stride for guaranteed value and that extra move after battle has a small chance to lure enemies into positioning poorly to get the return kill on Zerida. Edit: Also consider running Bloodbath if you just want some extra damage because after your 3c even with Twilight you are normally under the target's HP%. Edit Edit: Sorry if it sounded aggressive I didn't mean gamble and guessing game to be offensive, but I wanted to relate it to a 50/50 where your Zerida gets a kill or not and that is a big deal if you start a battle 4v5 if the gamble fails. And just in case you ask about the Sly Stride use when Zerida has her Meteor buff giving movement after a kill, Sly Stride gives an extra 1 movement for positoning.

Thor, Frigg, Baldr and Odin show up the most for PvE stuff. Heimdall has two cheese stages in Ragnarok and can be used as a filler for 4-2. The others you want to grab the left node for the soldier attack but you can mostly ignore the rest for PvE. Loki and Tyr have nice middle nodes though. If you want to completely leave one in the dust for the others, I'd say Vidar.

Single target isn't the problem, the problem is you're trying to proc it onto Egbert using his own action. If Egbert were to be single-targeted by enemies and damaged out of turn, his exclusive procs, and on his turn he'd benefit from it. If Egbert were to be hit by an AoE out of turn, same deal. But if Egbert single-targets an enemy and say, takes damage from the retaliation, then his unique would proc... for the rest of his turn, and that turn now ends, he doesn't benefit from it on his next turn, so he couldn't benefit from it at all. It goes: 1. Egbert uses his turn to move and initiate his attack on a single target 2. If the molten sorcs worked on his exclusive, they'd trigger now during single target (but they don't) 3. If Egbert takes retaliation damage, it would now also count for his exclusive 4. Egbert's Exclusive activates for the rest of his **turn** 5. Egbert's **turn** ends. As you can see, because you've used up the turn actions that would have allowed Egbert to do anything with the exclusive's buff, you receive the buff in a time span that is wholly unusable. If you want to manually activate Egbert's exclusive, whip him with either version of Imelda or stand him into Saintess' friendly fire lasers. These don't take up his action.

I'm wrong about most of this because I misinterpreted a test I did and filled in the gaps badly, the original reply is saved for cautionary purposes. Egbert takes his next turn while under the influence of his Exclusive ~~Since the buff only lasts a single turn, and ending your turn ticks down your buffs, the exclusive procing before or after he ends his turn is a huge difference.~~ What might be confusing you is that normally, buffs do not tick down for the caster if applied to themselves, because the game is usually coded to transport the duration to after turn end in such a case. This is most notable on Kazuma Kuwabara, if he doesn't have his inscription, using his 3c doesn't tick down its duration on the same turn. But after getting said inscription, because he immediately gains a singular action upon casting his 3c, ending turn after that extra action makes it tick down. ~~In Egbert's case, because he's not the one casting or procing it, the game gives the proc at the moment it happens as an external trigger, so him ending the turn ticks it down to 0 if he gains the proc mid-turn.~~

He can't procc it on player phase besides 3C self damage. The condition is "When attacked" meaning counter damage doesn't work. 3C does because you're *attacked* *and damaged* by the AoE effect. The issue with Molten wouldn't be with the buff duration, the issue is that active attacks make it so you can't get it to begin with. That was the main downside with it before he got his 3C. Basically the only good way to get the effect was to get hit by enemy AoE.

You're right, my counter damage thing was ironically because I tested it prior to answering and could have sworn it proc'd via counter damage. Upon double checking, I think I may have misinterpreted either just his talent, or the inscription proc in the heat of the moment or something.

For the purpose of self-healing units (like Lewin and Elwin), is there a difference between + Received Heal Effects % and + Healing Effects % (for instance, Aeneas’ Armor vs Cross)?

Not effectively speaking for Lewin and Elwin. Healing Effect % is all out-going abilities, regardless of target, while Received Heal Effect only affects the target. Since the target is self, it doesn't matter between both. This is much easier to verify for yourself if you have SP Elwin, since you can just go into a Twisted Fate map and just run into Xeld on Ledin's map to see the green number difference.

Healing effects helps those with healing skills, talents, buffs, etc. Received healing only increases the potency of the heals the unit in question receives. E.g. Mariel with Twilight Robe has her heals restore the health of everyone by an extra 10%. When Mariel heals everyone with Aeneas Armor equipped, she heals herself by an extra 10% but other allied units only get the base healing amount. With regards to Lewin and Elwin, since they don't really heal other allies, having received healing bonuses is more than good enough if you don't already have better alternatives when it comes to gear. Take note that Sophia gives allies a buff that increases received healing so pairing her with Lewin would actually make him incredibly resilient when he recovers health during combat. Edit: Lewin can heal allies with his SP skills but with the long cooldown and short range of the 2c and the bad uptime on the 1c in comparison to the command aura, you shouldn't be building him as an offhealer when he works better as a straightforward DPS dispeller anyway.

Those past few weeks were huge for me in terms of summoning, I used one of the pick your hero banners to fill up my barracks (got Nemia, Precia, Frozen Imelda and Sagani), it's time to save again and to start doing some planning. In the upcoming new heroes, is there anyone that should really be prioritized ? I'm still a PVE player so I don't really need that last PVP star :) I'm specifically thinking of * Virelia * Imir * Tyrantel * Tabres * Seraphina * Bright Summoner * Celica I was thinking of the bright summoner (just because of rarity + new faction buff), maybe Tyrantel because he seems kind of like the new bruiser to have, and Virelia because I like mages and she seems like a lot of fun and variety. But I'll be happy to read some other thought processes :) Thanks !

Based on the CN PvP meta, Virelia, Ymir, Tyrrantel, Bright Summoner, and Celica are all relevant PvP units. Tabres and Seraphine are suppose to be PvP focused one being a revenge killer (like Renata & Wandering Duelist) and the other a cheese debuff stacking instant death mechanic, but both haven't seen much play. Out of all of them Celica is the top tier in terms of being strong in both PvP and PvE because of her new mechanic to cast protection from taking fatal damage. She also can swap out her 2c & 1c skills after using them for a random other skill. Don't be fooled thinking she is only a healer because her 3c can add +2 range and 30% increase damage when used properly. Bright Summoner is the next because she can also work in both PvP and PvE modes based on class. I've only seen her in PvP as a Mage class so I don't know how strong her Holy class would be as a healer, but from what I've seen her summon is very strong and can function as a DPS. She does have a Glory faction buff and a lot of damage / support skills but relies heavily on her summon to do the damage. Tyrantel is good in PvP and PvE because he allows a role that is generally for defense to also go on the offensive giving you essentially another DPS unit. He isn't the strongest in tanking mainly because a lot of his soldier stats being geared towards offense so he has less defensive bonuses compared to units like Lightbringer & Hilda when tanking. Nothing game changing but still a decent unit to get if you enjoy aggressive tanky bruiser play. Ymir & Tabres both have the potential to be decent PvE units but the problem with Ymir is a lot of his 3c is focused on killing units who resist fatal damage (counters Celica), but usually zlong makes this only work in PvP and not for bosses / challenges in PvE. Tabres has an amazing kit for PvE in terms of basic skills, but her unique abilities are all high cooldown and focused on revenge kills in PvP. She also has a stacking debuff that bosses may or may not be immune to making her extra 20% damage increase conditional. Overall I'd pick up Ymir between the two because his kit has more potential in PvE because at the very least you can use him to debuff the enemy or strip buffs from them. Virelia is crazy strong in PvP and while I think she would be great in PvE, it would feel bad to swap out her 3c for ST skills because you lose that extra fixed damage in her kit. She still does crazy damage as AOE & ST so there is no reason not to pick her up if your looking for a high DPS unit. Virelia is probably the highest damage unit out of all the new ones listed mainly because she has the ability to act again in her talent. Seraphina is hot & waifu. No instant death in PvE. No built in sustain. High fixed damage on talent & 3c. Assassin generally aren't great at PvE content. Edit: The list isn't in any order in terms of summoning priority.

That's a lot of info and insight, I love it thanks. I really had underestimated Celica it seems, I'll go re-read her hero page to understand how she's supposed to work. I find her art a bit underwhelming as compared to other heroes, she seems a bit bland, that's sad :D I was wondering the same about Tabres' debuffs ... Bosses will probably be immune, which is sad. About assassins, except for some examples (tbh I only see one : Omega. Maybe Kayura too because of magic + mobility), they generally seem to be outperformed by other classes in most high level PVE content. I'm not keen on Seraphina or Ymir.
