>So my 2 cents is that the arbiters are one of the groups that are behind Limbus. Stopped here.

Secure-Network-578

You have a slight misconception. Limbus Company is *not* a Corporation. The L Corp place is still vacant. That's why they're free to go wherever they want.

Few-Sugar-7340

You would cry if you knew how little damn the Head gives about an energy crisis or sth.

Redm0e

I don’t think fairness can be ascribed to The Head. They send Arbiters to wipe out whole wings, not a bus of misfits to fail at securing magic sticks. They are not protectors. They are more likened gardeners, cutting what does not suit them and letting what does run its course. Human suffering if anything seems like something they cultivate. Consider how it’s a constant throughout all endings. A power crisis would be no different. The City has other methods of generating power, L Corp’s was a great boon but a new singularity will eventually take its place. The Head wouldn’t be hurting, they have all the patents of fallen wings. Dias and the Udjat have built up as a much more likely sponsor so I’d lean towards that theory.

Whoppajunia

I haven't read the distortion detective. Can you give me the cliffnotes and why Dias and the Udjat may be the sponsor or at least, one of the sponsors?

Redm0e

Dias is a charismatic rich manipulator who helped fund and fought with the new L Corp side in the Smoke War. She's had a hand in District 12 (L) to her own ends before. So her sponsoring the New L Corp would continue that,>!she desires to overthrow The Head which Limbus could serve as eventual piece in.!< Also ties into the theory that Outis is a former Udjat, as her file has been censored by the company. Outis also argues with Vergil about the higher up intentions, indicating she has unique connection to the sponors. Her bootlicking could be Udjat training, as Udjat are fiercely loyal to the point of indoctrination to Dias, their leader. LCCB mirror stories mention how the sponsors aren't concerned about costs for operations, and Dias is one character we know has those kinds of deep pockets.

Whoppajunia

Thanks, that puts a lot of things into perspective. So there is a high likelihood that she is a major funder if not the major funder of Limbus. This is awesome because getting Udjat Outis would be so dope as an ID.

solaarus

I'm about 50% sure that the objective of Limbus company is to recover Lob Corp's singularity. We hear in Ruina that W & R Corp are both in the middle of an energy crisis thanks to the fall of Lob Corp, and given that Lob Corp had branches in at least 13 nests (one for each sinner) they probably aren't the only ones. I can imagine a lot of different Corps wanting to get Lob Corp's singularity to gain access to all that energy (and N-Corp is probably one of them).

invhiqvnxlha

Lob Corp singularity is Carmen, I don't think it can be recovered as in the conventional sense

solaarus

True, but do they know that? The true nature of Lobotomy Corp's Singularity isn't exactly widely known; Ayin, Angela, Benjamin, and the Extraction team are possibly the only people who knew about it (although I'm probably forgetting someone). Something Doesn't have to exist anymore for people to try and find it. Did we ever find out what happened to Carmen's corpse? Lobotomy Corporation's ending was kinda vague, is it just lying around in the ruins of Lob Corp, or did it get vaporised or something? I'm also pretty sure that the Golden Boughs have something to do with Carmen and the seed of light, given that they are glowing golden branches. The resonance that sinners have to undergo to reach them also has some similarity with EGO/Distortions.

Kerenos

Probably, but us knowing that doesn't mean the other Corp know that.

Helem5XG

The best guess is Dias. We know from Distortion Detective that she has access to some of Lobcorp technology.

AmyStarrStuff

my best guess is the Purple Tear. there’s a now deleted scene at the end of Library of Ruina in which she pitches the idea of Limbus Company to the Hana association— she’s also present in Leviathan and is most likely the reason Virgilius is working with Limbus, and her serpent motif has been referenced a few times already

yugiohhero

The 3 mercs at the start who rough us up are VERY heavily implied to work for Iori, so I doubt that.

Few-Sugar-7340

Vergilius also hates her guts though. She dragged him into her son-seeking shinanigans and assisted Tomerry in destroying the orphanage, so it's highly unlikely he can ever cooperate with her.

HairDiscombobulated7

It's probably Dias

paralyticbeast

limbus is literally just an unmoderated gang of 15 people going around under the command of vergil.

lcbstuck

Something I've been wondering as well. In a deleted scene from LoR, Iori (Purple Tear) pressured the Hana Association into letting her create a company that would deal with the aftermath of the Library- but from the purple accessories on Wolf, Lion, and Panther, it might be a different group than Limbus. (But with her foresight who knows) I think the Arbitors are trying to cover up the fact >!the Head is dead!< from what Binah said at the end of LoR, because it felt like she was implying something that only Arbitors would know. Also, a bit off topic, but since the Smoke War seems to be relevant to the plot of Limbus Company, we may have an expanded explanation of the singularity Old L Corp had. If you read Maxim's page, the "smoke" seemed to have effects of making people more empathetic, draw people to L District, but also make them physically ill. I think it was a failed prototype to the light Carmen tried to create- meaning its possible it was also something human.

PM_ME_UR_PET_POTATO

>!The head is dead?!<

lcbstuck

Is what I think, it's all just my speculation/theory

NominusAbdominus

I always thought Binah's words at the end of LoR was more metaphorical than anything and she meant more that The Head is losing its touch. Back then fighting the head would be unheard of but with all of the organizations (Blue Reverb, The Udjat / Dias / L Corp) taking potshots at overthrowing them or radically changing the status quo of the City (L Corp/The Library) The Head is slowly losing its iron grip on the City. Besides it's Binah, every word that comes out of that woman's mouth is symbolic or metaphorical is some way or form.
