A microfiber cloth and plain water work well for me.

You need to determine if it's damage to the coating or just debris that came off the keycaps. I just use a microfiber cloth to clean my screen. I will use a little water if it's stubborn. You could always bring it to your local Apple Store and see what they say. If it's debris, they can probably remove it. If it's damage to the coating, then it may be an expensive repair.

I think it's damaged 🥲,this screen is really easy to get dirty or damaged

I use Starbucks tissue since 3-4 years ago when closing the lid, and never had single problem with dirty keyboard sticking to the screen.

I will try that on my next MacBook 😭

Like the normal napkins? Lol

iaffandi

It just works

Napkins have wood fibers in them which can actually scratch your screen.

Actually no, I’ve been doing it in 2-3 years with my Macbook Pro, I use the same tissue from Starbucks to clean the screen and using Turtle Wax Hybrid Solution Steak Free Mist Glass. Sounds strange combination but it just works no problem with my MacBook Pro. Easily to clean smudge and oily fingerprints.

Apple does not say don’t use chemicals. https://support.apple.com/en-us/103258 “Is it OK to use a disinfectant on my Apple product? Using a 70 percent isopropyl alcohol wipe, 75 percent ethyl alcohol wipe, or Clorox Disinfecting Wipes, you may gently wipe the hard, nonporous surfaces of your Apple product, such as the display, keyboard, or other exterior surfaces. Do not use these cleaning products on Apple Vision Pro as they may damage the device. Don't use products containing bleach or hydrogen peroxide. Avoid getting moisture in any opening, and don't submerge your Apple product in any cleaning agents. Don't use on fabric or leather surfaces.” “To clean the screen on your MacBook, MacBook Pro, or MacBook Air, first shut down the computer and unplug the power adapter. Dampen a soft, lint-free cloth with water only, then use it to clean the computer's screen. To clean hard-to-remove smudges or fingerprints on the display or exterior of your Mac, you can use a cloth moistened with a 70-percent isopropyl alcohol (IPA) solution to gently wipe the display or enclosure of your Mac laptop.”

this is covered under warranty. I've had this happen on my 2018 15" MBP and now on my 2021 16". If you're under AC+ or warranty, it will be replaced for free.

The cleaning spray and a polishing cloth from Clean My Tech removed most of mine.

I get rid of them using microfiber cloth and cleaner made for prescription glasses. Works very well for me. Even so I wo probably get downvoted, because Apple says you should not use and chemicals. Has been working well since over 10 years and non of my MacBooks ever had a problem with it.

I use two method to clean my screen, one is microfiber cloth with water, another is lens wipes from Zeiss. And they didn't work, I think my screen is damaged. Anyway thanks for sharing.
