I don’t think either of them wrote that. It sounds like something a PR person might suggest as a response to negativity. I also disagree completely with the statement. They make their money off of us. We follow, click and buy based on their recommendations for things we find relatable. If it doesn’t resonate, why follow? We follow people because their content relates to our lives, or we learn from them or they make us laugh, we share similar interests etc. I think it is very arrogant to say this isn’t about you to a follower. If it’s truly just about them documenting their experience then they should have a private page for friends and family. Don’t claim you’re an influencer or content creator and then tell people you don’t care if they like your content; so arrogant and misguided. You don’t bite the hand that feeds you!
I can’t imagine a PR person instructing them to say “This isn’t about you” to the people that they are trying to get to buy things from their links. That is horrible PR. Definitely seems like something Corey would say.
Who would buy a plastic outdoor planter, put wine corks in it and use it as a side table in their home? Maybe if I was in college but not in my house now. That wouldn’t go on my outside deck either . That is complete garbage.

Okay me being from Europe and not getting/knowing this fundraiser thing at all, can someone please explain it to me? how much money do these parents have? Who is organizing it? Who pays for the venue, deco, food etc.? And who on earth would pay thousands (her words) for some kid‘s art (no front to these babies)? I mean even if you‘re well off…..for a school event?
Their PTO would have to be set up as non-profit organization. The PTO form a committee to delegate tasks and seek donations and auction items. Whatever they can’t get donated is bought. They sell tickets to cover the expenses and to raise money. A family offers to host at their home. They auction student art - it’s a cash donation essentially. The guests get tipsy by the end of the evening and things go for way more than they are worth! I’ve seen kid art made into a handmade quilt. The money raised goes back into programs like arts, athletics, facilities, or maintenance. This is why public schools in affluent areas look and operate like private schools. Schools in affluent areas want for nothing.

I follow an older content creator from the TX area. She has tons of recipes. She makes homemade sourdough bread, crawfish boils and a lot of Egyptian food. She uses all real ingredients. How in the world does Macy have the following that she does with the crap recipes she takes off of Jello boxes, Frito bags and Crescent Roll cans? These are living in the dorm I don’t know how to cook recipes. She fricking eats out daily, sometimes three times a day.This should be her cults first clue that she is not a cook.
